Look up Sara Stasiukaitis. 20 horrible reviews with barely 2.0 averages. This woman schedules extra credit on the Fridays before Spring Break, her tests are ridiculous and have nothing to do with what she teaches. DO NOT TAKE HER. Tell the University something by leaving her sections empty.
Beth Yoder has a delightful personality and is a very approachable instructor. She does not make any unreasonable demands and even allows notecards and formula sheets for the quizzes and tests. To do well, you have to do the homework, but that is a personal decision, not a reflection on her teaching.
unfortunately theres nothing that keeps the profs from rating themselves (the last rating). dont take her!!!
Don't risk your GPA on this class. She's not a good teacher, her examples in class and test questions are complete opposites--it's not worth the risk.
Worst class I've ever taken.
She's def. the hardest teacher I've ever had, but just wanted everyone to know how to apply in the future. If you just want to make a easy grade don't take this class. If you want to learn, and be able to apply in the future, take her. You will also have to put in a lot of work...good luck.
pretty hot lady but probably the hardest teacher in Management.
Awesome teacher but not that easy!
She isnt that bad. She is very nice and old school. She is very personable. Not a typical college professor. She is quite difficult, but teaches exactly what is on the exams. She does allow cheat sheets on all exams and on some quizes. Don't expect to make an A though.
She is a great teacher...the best I have had at Clemson. She is funny, not boring like most teachers. If you have a question she will do everything she can to help you. She really cares about her students and it shows. It isn't the easiest class, but it isn't impossible to do well if you keep up and do the homework.
She's a nice teacher who is really helpful and does a good job of teaching us what's going to be on the test. The only problem is the course itself can be difficult. She's also the hardest grader I've had at Clemson. She'll do a good job of teaching you what you need to know and how to apply it in the real world but your grade might not show it
If you are a person that doesn't need to go to class to do well, don't take this course. Quizzes make up a big part of your grade and are given weekly, mainly on stuff that hasn't been taught well. She grades very bias to who you and will always find something to take points for. Look to your left, then right, chances are 1 of them failed Yoder.
she was freaking amazing... if only i had her for the whole semester... she is good at teaching exactly what you need to know for the test and nothing more.. she is clear about what she wants. unlike some people.....
Good teacher, if you do the work and keep up you will not have trouble in the class. Paying attention in lecture is the most helpful way to learn her information.
She was gone most of the semester b/c she was pregnant so Dr. McKnew taught most of it. He was an awesome teacher and he really knows the stuff. He is a very nice guy with an awesome personality. Mrs. Yoder was also a pretty nice teacher. Her first test was HELL and hardly anyone finished. She came back for the last test and I aced it. Take either.
I've always heard this was a hard class but it wasn't with her teaching. You don't have to be a math person to understand. I did the work and ended up with an A. Do the HOMEWORK...not graded or taken up, but helps a LOT!
hard as hell
Very clear in class. Tests had too much material. I did ALL the homework. I just couldn't do it fast enough on the tests. B
I hate this teacher. The way she grades is stupid. Completely rude to students. Tests are way harder than what she teaches in class. Said that what she teaches in class won't be on the test, that she wants us to go above and beyond. But we can't go farther if she doesn't teach us enough for us to do that. Worst class i've ever had. Don't take her!!
terrible. avg. on last quiz for the class was a 20. test 1 avg. 72, test 2 avg. 64. Must make a c to pass, but she doesn't seem to care if you pass or fail. I would steer clear of her class if at all possible. She gives quizzes on friday's alot of the time. Good luck to all who have to take her. All i can say is study your butt off.
Hardest teacher I have ever had. It is possible to lose more points than you can earn on every test and quiz. She is willing to help you, but don't expect to do too well. I studied for 12+ hours for every test and went to class everday, but still received a low grade. She has prepared me for grad school as I cannot imagine having to work harder
Had for both 310 and 312. Gave huge project the last week of class. Test much more difficult than any examples. Hardest teacher I've ever had, but I learned a lot. YOU WILL NEED TO STUDY A LOT!
The worst teacher I have ever had. If you are a management major STEER CLEAR. Very hard even to get a C. She does not care that the class costs students money. Seems to relish the fact that many people fail and have to take the class again. Picks favorites in class so if you are willing to sell out and make stupid kitten jokes you will be ok.
Very hard class, teacher cares little about the students. I would highly recommend not taking this teacher if you value your GPA.
310 & 312. Great teacher. Hard. DO THE HOMEWORK! As long as you do the homework and go to her office for help if you don't understand anything, you'll do fine. You get "cheat sheets" for tests. I actually put homework problems on mine so I could model the problems on the tests from them. DO THE HOMEWORK! GO TO CLASS!
Nobody realizes that this class is one of the hardest in MGT. PERIOD. It doesn't matter what teacher you take, as you can see from the reviews. However, Yoder definitely teaches the material better than any other professors. Go with her.
Mrs. Yoder is a great teacher. Yes this class is one of the hardest for management majors, but she is the best teacher for it. If you go to all the classes (even though its not mandatory) and keep up with the notes and homework, you will do fine. She gives you everything you need for the tests, but you have to put the time in.
Yoder is one of the hardest but best teacher's I have had at Clemson. I took her during Maymester and it was definitely the right choice. Tests are tough, but she knows the material and practice helps get through it.
Yoder is a great teacher. This is the hardest course in the MGT curriculum and she really knows her material. If you attend every class and do the homeworks, you'll do fine. Cramming will not work with this class. Stay on the ball! She is semi-unhelpful because she wants you to figure things out on your own. I'd recommend her.
Very hard class, make sure you go and take good notes.
Good teacher but a very tough grader. Pay attention to detail if you wanna do well on her tests
Do not take Yoder!!!!!!!!! Advised my to go take another professor for mgt 310 if I planned to graduate that semester. Very sarcastic to the point where it is difficult to understand her. Tests are very difficult (trust me- I hold at 3.7 GPA) I was lucky to pull off a "C"! Take another professor or you will regret it...I promise
The class material was difficult, but the class was even harder because Yoder was so unbelievably unhelpful. She gives one example (2 if you are lucky) of the material we are going over, then expects us to learn the rest ourselves. She would not put up the answers to questions that we were unsure about on Blackboard. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She's really tough, but is willing to help you if you go to her office. Go to class! You cannot slack off in this class; attendance isn't mandatory, but if you're smart you'll go and take thorough notes. Only 6 people made A's out of about 70-80 people. I did it, but it took a lot of effort!
The class is very hard, I was one of the ones who did better in the class and I had a solid B. She is actually a very good teacher, but that requires you go to go class everyday and take notes. Her notes are exactly what she expects on the exam, and she give you a "help sheet" for the exams. Go to class and do the work and you'll be fine.
STEER CLEAR! Very difficult material, presented in a way that increases the challenge of the class. She is not concerned at all with the success of students. Class average on ALL 4 test were FAILING. No curve. Take someone else
This is hard class, and she does an alright job at teaching it. Doing the hw helps.
Yoder is a great teacher...but very hard. if you get to know her and you talk to her on a regular bases then you should get a C. i had to take it twice and the second time around i sat in front and made her notice my effort. as long as she knows your trying then she will reward your effort.
By far the best teacher I have ever had. Anyone that has given her a bad rating is lazy and don't actually want to learn. Her notes are exactly what you need to know for the test. She is very helpful and is more then willing to help you outside of class if you need it. I would recommend her class to everyone!!! you won't regret it!
Very nice, but I personally didn't like her teaching methods.. flies through information way too fast and doesn't give time to ask questions. But she does care, in a class of about 150, she tried really hard to learn everyone's names.
Maybe this teacher was good in a normal small class setting, but she could not handle a class of 150. The time she spent trying to learn our names forced us to speed through important stuff. First two exam averages were 51 and 59 and there was no curve! These exams are all multiple choice with no partial credit, which does not work for math. BAD
I had Yoder for both 310 and 312, then someone else the 2nd time I took 310. I was skeptical about taking her for 312 but GLAD I DID. She is awesome for 312, so much easier than she is for 310. As long as you go to class and follow along you will do good..Don't go and you will probably fail. Take her for 312 but not 310!
She is extremely hard and wants all students to fail. If you sign up for her class, drop it immediately and run for the hills. Take it another time with someone who wants their students to succeed and does not make the material 400 times harder than it actually is.
Very passionate about the subject and a nice lady, but she makes the class impossible to pass unless you basically dedicate your life to studying it. Tests are impossible and she gives no practice exams or review sheets.
She is nice enough, but her tests are nearly IMPOSSIBLE to pass. Her average test grades in my class were in the low 50's. Her tests are multiple choice without partial credit. RUN RUN RUN!!!!
Dr. Yoder is one of my favorite professors at Clemson! She is very passionate about teaching college kids. She is on your side as long as you make the effort. I had her for 310 and 312. I would recommend her to anyone!
Reviews are SOOOO off. I wonder who rates her. Probably the students who never came to class. If you come to class everyday, you will get a B. I got a B and barley have a 3.0. She is really nice and funny. Class is straight forward. No tricks. Def Recommend her. I would take her again! Everything is on excel so need to take good notes.
TESTS ARE IMPOSSIBLE
You can either take 7 quizzes in addition to 4 tests, or take just the tests. If you have a 93% before the final, you are exempt. She is a good teacher, but she goes fast in class.
If you like curveballs then Yoder is your teacher. I have done all my homework assignments, learned all of the homework assignments, I haven't missed one day of class, but somehow I keep managing to fail all the tests and quizzes. Yoder consistently teaches x but tests you on y. The test average for test 1 was a 60% with 13 F's and 2 A's. NO curve.
Dr. Yoder is one of my favorite professors at Clemson. Sure, the material is hard and complicated, but Dr. Yoder teaches it excellently. You, as the student, just have to show up and put forth the effort. Homework is optional but very helpful. She holds extra office hours around test time. Dr. Yoder is dedicated to helping her students succeed.
Tough class no matter who you take. Yoder is straight forward and helps as much as possible. Even though attendance is not mandatory, if you dont go to class you WILL fail. Go to class and you will be fine. Exams are tough but do-able.
Good personality, good teaching skills and easy on the eyes. So what if the tests were a little hard. You either know it or you don't.
Dr. Yoder is a tough grader, but fair. She challenges you on tests, but if you know the information and do the work an A is certainly possible. She likes teaching and it shows. There's a good sense of humor here... and she's quite attractive.
Dr Yoder is one of the best professors I've had at Clemson. She gets to the point in class and doesn't bother with pointless work or "busy" work. Awesome teacher, definitely recommended.
I've never been so amazed on how a professor can blantenly teach material not related to a single test. I am close to challenging her Doctorate. Horrible professor.
Relevant material. Rigor required matches level. Just a bit more time needed on major tests...10-15 minutes. Nitpicky grading not needed at advanced levels for working professionals with families. Enthusiastic teacher, helpful, punctual and easy on the eyes. Overall good class but grading frustrating.
This class is a lot of work! She's a good teacher, just really hard!!! Compared to other teachers I've heard of, Dr. Yoder makes you do so much more work. The work load is overwhelming and overshadows your ability to learn all the material clearly. She's really nice, she's not on campus much but she's younger so she probably has young kids.
TESTS ARE SO HARD. They are nothing like what we learn in class. She doesn't assign homework, so it is pretty much learn on your own from what she teaches. DO NOT TAKE HER.
Knew this was supposed to be a difficult class. That being said she is a phenomenal teacher! Go to class, pay attention, do the optional hw and you will do fine in the class. She was very helpful about problems and excel issues. Tests were straightforward and relatively easy if you did everything above. Definitely would take her again if I could.
Great, Funny, Patient, Tough
Dr. Yoder is a great professor. The course is difficult but if you attend class and study, you will do well! She is extremely helpful if you have any questions or need clarification on a topic. She is organized and goes through tons of examples that mirror those on the test. I definitely recommend her!
Overall really great professor. Clear lectures that get to the point and cover what will be on quizzes and tests. Approachable and willing to go over concepts until clear. Responded to e-mails quickly. Grades quizzes and tests fairly.
I HATED THIS CLASS SO MUCH. The tests were sooo hard. I did REALLY well in previous Clemson stats classes, I got like a 98% in EX ST 201 but did terribly in this class. BUT Yoder actually has an awesome personality and is super cool. If I had known how hard her tests would be though, I still wouldn't have taken her.
Tread lightly... I suggest avoiding Yoder if you already have a difficult semester. With that being said if you want to learn a lot take her! The class is one of the most relatable courses, in terms of growing a business mindset. You kind of have to catch on to her perspective and then the tests will begin to make sense for you.
I took this class my senior year because I like statistics. I have a 4.0 average and had to drop this course after failing the first exam. The professor was nice-but the test was ridiculous. I suggest looking at her grade distribution. Last semester, only 48% of her students received a C or higher in the course....52% had a D, F, or W.
Tests and exams were difficult. do not take this class during summer as no content is condensed. I did well on quizzes, tests and exams proved tougher. she did allow a 3X5 notecard during quizzes. If you have a heavy classload, consider a different professor. I'm told another instructor allows team work. Yoder clearly knows and loves her topic.
One of the best professors I've had while at Clemson. The material is tough but she is wiling to work with you and help. She is understanding when it comes to students having lives and does a good job not to overload you. The exams are tough but you can have a formula sheet that really helps. As long as you put in the effort this is a good class.
I have been at Clemson for 3 years now and this is by far the best professor I have had! She is super easy to understand and she makes sure every student is understanding the material. On top of being a great teacher she is also a smokeshow. Lets just say I was always paying attention and I never missed a class.
Dropping this class after failing my second exam, I studied for about 18 hours (literally) and I still couldn't get the material. She doesn't seem to understand that we don't have a masters in statistics also. I know that other professors are better teachers and grade easier. Do not take Yoder if you have a choice.
Yoder is a great professor and wants her students to do well. She'll work with you if you put the effort in, but the tests are hard. Homework is minimal and she gives great notes and examples in class. She teaches well but can be nit picky when it comes to grading. Overall I would take her again!
There is no doubt that Yoder has the potential to be one of the best. With that being said, I would not recommend her to anyone. She spends a lot of time on the simple chapters of the class but does not do the same for the more difficult sections. The tests are much harder than expected.
If you pay attention in class and do the homework she assigns (which is a lot of homework but she gives you more than enough examples) you will succeed. She was always willing to re-explain anything and everything you asked her to. You will rarely be thrown a curveball on the test if you have completed the homework. Tests what she teaches.
Tough class, but if you pay attention, and prepare for the quizzes, you should be OK for the tests. She's a very good instructor, really wants you to learn. Key is to prepare for the quizzes - they aren't difficult, just don't go in blind. Spend 30 min preparing, it's worth it.
Don't take this class if you hate statistics. The class is very difficult, but if you enjoy the subject material it is fine. Go to all the classes or else you will fail the class. Tests are very hard but you can use a full page front and back of notes on every test. She's a really good teacher and will answer any questions you have
Pros: She is attractive Cons: Rushes through the material and frequently forgets her laptop charger which makes her race to complete the content before the battery dies. Overall she is a tough grader and expects us to dedicate hours of studying in after a Monday night class and tests/ quizzes on Wednesday.
Overall, excellent. Material can be tough if you are not proficient with excel, but she gives good examples and clearly explains assigned homework problems. She is a tough / picky grader but test questions are similar to examples / homework. Material moves quickly if taken during summer, but a "B" is very do-able. Would recommend.
The class is going to be tough no matter who you take it from, but she does help you lean the material and understand the concepts better. She's very accessible outside of class and is always willing to help.
If you like excel, then showing up to class is all you need to do. Yoder was an absolute joy: funny, gregarious, actually likes teaching! I paid attention in class, never did the homework, and studied the night before tests and cruised to an easy A, but I love math and love spreadsheets more. If you hate both, at least she's a great teacher.
Yoder was absolutely great!!! A lot of people think she's a tough grader, but if you go to class and pay attention, its really not hard. She gives extra credit for every quiz and test!!! The class is very Excel heavy, but she tries to help you out as much as possible. By far one of the best/most informative classes at Clemson. Definitely take her!
Think before you decide to take the quizzes. The idea behind it is that it will boost your grade and help you with the material, however the quizzes are hard, she grades like its a test, and she gives you only 15 minutes to complete. Often you aren't sure exactly what's covered. You have to study every week to pass, especially if you take quizzes.
She is very personable and friendly, and is not a "bad teacher", however she grades really heavy, and she often understates the difficulty of the material. The quizzes are pretty hard, and she isn't a fan of letting anything slide in terms of mistakes on them. Do the homework, study the material before class, over prepare, be ready to take a few Ls
Great professor, tough, but actually knows the material and knows how to teach it. Best professor so far, doesn't give you the answers but you will learn. If you're in it to learn take her, if not, don't. You will have to do all the homework and will have quizzes almost every class but exams are pretty much like the quizzes.
She is a wonderful professor and is very willing to help. Accessible outside of class. Doesn't make you feel dumb at all. It still is a very, very hard class. I did my best, but still got a C. As long as I passed I didn't care. It is a really hard class..I won't lie. Do the hw and practice.
Dr. Yoder is one of the best professors I've had at Clemson. I chose to do the quizzes and I felt they really helped me prepare along the way for the tests. She always made sure everyone understood the material. As long as you go to class, do the homework, and study/rework the examples from class, you will do fine. I definitely recommend Dr. Yoder
I loved Mrs. Yoder. She was very personable and made sure everyone in class was on the same page. She also took time out of class to make sure each person could access what she was teaching. Tests were hard but you get formula sheets. I would definitely take this class again just to have Mrs. Yoder. I really learned a good bit of material.
She's incredibly informative in her lectures and very dedicated to helping students understand and succeed. The class is heavy, but if you do all her homework (she assigns a lot!), you'll be prepared for the tests. Offers extra credit, allows cheat sheets, lenient grader. Doesn't post notes online, so I wouldn't recommend skipping. Great teacher!
Loved professor Yoder, but her class is tough. She doesn't take attendance, but you won't do well on exams and (optional) quizzes if you don't show up. Yoder knows her stuff and cares about her students, but you've got to be willing to put in the work and communicate with her. Exams can be easy or hard depending on how much you study for them.
Would not recommend Yoder under any circumstances. Highly suggest you wait for other options. She intentionally overloads & overcomplicates the material, makes the exams impossible, her lectures are painful, boring with no direction. She truely enjoys failing students and is rarely available for help. Her condescending attitude is like no other
grades very overly hard on quizzes for no reason.
WORST professor in the college of business by a long shot. Lectures on the simplest problems from the chapter and tests and quizzes on the hardest. Grades harder than anyone I have experienced in my four years here. Quizzes have a time limit of 20 min. and never have enough time to finish. When grading she never gives feedback or correct answers.
If you can take someone else do it. I could write a book on how bad she is and how her class is structured around her laziness and inorganization but i'm only allowed to type so much on here.
Worst professor. Probably the worst professor in the management department. Take a different teacher or wait to take the course. She enjoys making the class hard to follow, unorganized, and does not provide adequate information to even check your work. Grades harshly on quizzes and exams. Do not even learn from mistakes. Highly disappointing.
AVOID THIS WOMAN! The attitude and lack of care for students to learn is infuriating!
LOL. She is a joke to say the least. She will ruin your life, Im not joking.
It would be in your best interest to wait for a more dedicated professor
Not a good professor.
She is by far the worst professor at Clemson University. She is so unorganized and enjoys making the class hell. She gives you 20 minute quizzes after class time that require a lot longer than 20 minutes and makes it impossible to do when I have an in person class that starts 15 minutes after this class ends. Do anything you can to not take her
Lacks empathy. Extremely Sarcastic. Hypocritical. Disrespectful when organizing and conducting a class at a expensive institution. Not concern with your understanding of the material, rather concerned with testing more than teaching. Gosh, I could go on and on. Infuriating. She is going to cause someone serious mental health issues.
DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR!! She is by far the worst professor I have ever had. Her quizzes and tests will take a lot longer than the time given. She grades incredibly tough and I truly believe she wants to see her students fail. She makes the material a lot harder than what it needs to be. VERY CONFUSING, UNORGANIZED, & UNCARING!!!
I will let the other reviews speak for themselves. Lol goodluck. Youre going to need it.
no good
Take any other options
She was a nice person and made accommodations to help me out. Transforming a course to be fully online must be challenging, however, do yourself a favor and take this course with another professor. If not possible, make the most of optional quizzes, test cheat sheets, and try not to fall behind. Many students couldn't graduate because of this class
This is a tough course. However, it is a course that is very useful in the business field. Professor Yoder does an absolute horrible job at explaining the material and organizing a course. Her canvas layout pathetic. Her amount of time allotted for quizzes obscure. I recommend finding this course with a different professor. Worst prof Ive had.
Take ANY other professor. Dr. Yoder is simply a bad teacher and honestly a rude person. She pretty much insults you if you ask any question. Tests/quizzes are a step further than what she teaches, so you're not really getting tested on what she taught. She was really just an unpleasant person.
Find a different professor. Shes not there to help. It is shown in every lecture. Her grading expectations are absolutely insanity.
If you go into the class thinking it's going to suck, it will. But, it really isn't that bad if you pay attention in class and do the examples with her. Doing the HW is also very helpful if you don't understand the material quite yet, but it's not mandatory.
Even though the lectures are not mandatory, it is super important to go and learn the new examples and be able to ask questions. Homework is not graded but it is beneficial to your success to do them, and ask her questions about it if you may have any. You definitely have to put in the work if you want a good grade!
BUCKLE UP ! YOU ARE ALONG FOR A RIDE! Goodluck
She definitely knows the concepts but she does not teach them that well. She goes over the easiest concepts and problems in class. Then she'll give difficult homework and barely goes over it if you have questions about it in class. So you really do not know if you are making progress. The tests are also quite difficult. Worst teacher honestly.
Hopefully, you have a choice for another professor but if not good luck. Attendance is not mandatory but if you want to pass you need to go to class. She does not allow enough time for difficult quizzes and her class is insanely unorganized. She does not use Canvas for assignments, quizzes, or tests due. So make sure to check your progress ALWAYS.
She knows that the majority of her class are seniors preparing to graduate, and she does not care. The material is not that tough, but she overcomplicates it. She's terrible at writing word problems to the point where they just don't make sense at all. She complains about being behind on grading yet she took half the class to hearings finals week.
She will ruin your life and destroy your mental health. I cried more about this class/prof than my entire time in college. She lacks empathy and will not answer your question if she doesn't like it. I did not know whether I was graduating or not until 5 days before graduation because of her. Take literally any other professor no matter what
AVOID! She waited until finals week Apr. 28th to accuse half of the class for cheating on a random QUIZ from Jan. 28th (3 months) and that is one of the worst moves I've ever seen from a professor. Instead of addressing it then she decided to wait until the end and screw kids out of graduating. I think she gets some sick pleasure out of it. AVOID!!
My advisor told me that her fail rate for the Fall 2020 semester was one of the worst throughout the entire university. That should be enough to deter you but if that's not enough then I wouldn't pee on her if she was on fire. Rude, condescending, over complicates the material then says "iDk wHy peOpLe dOnT lIKe mY cLaSs"
Hardest class I have ever attempted at Clemson. I am currently two days away from Exam 1 and have no clue what is going on. Seems like she does not care about our success and does not offer much help. Quizzes are impossible to do well on and I am withdrawing before test 1. Yes, it is that bad. Take any other professor please.
Just dont do it. Take a different professor, she doesnt post anything on canvas except one example problem for each section. Took exam 1 to try to be optimistic, it wasnt the hardest thing Ive ever done but she gives the minimum amount of required resources.
One of the hardest teachers on campus for stat. Class is not mandatory but if you miss class she knows and she does not post her lectures. No chance you can do well in the class if you do not go to every class. 100% do not recommend. I consider myself a math person and she makes me hate it.
While I didn't have the best experience, I would definitely not say she was the worst. She cares about her students and creates a nice classroom environment. However, she is easily confused by her own math problems and does not give adequate answers. She has a habit of rushing too. I still liked her as a person though.
Great teacher. Need to put in the work.
Professor Yoder is the type of Professor who would fail you on day one of the class but make you believe you are doing well enough to not drop the class until the last week before finals then fail you. She enjoys watching the world burn. Her grading style is rough and if you have the opportunity do not take any of her classes unless ready to fail.
Dr. Yoder is an amazing teacher and cares about her class so much. Her lectures are hard, but if you're willing to put in the work this class is great. I was told to drop this class and it ended up being my favorite class of the semester. Do not judge her by her Rate My Professor reviews, she's an awesome teacher and a cool person.
Dr. Yoder is a teacher who recognizes hard work- this was one of my most challenging classes at Clemson, but I was rewarded for it. If you are willing to take the time and put in the effort you will do well. She is very understanding and will work with you through the material. Take very detailed notes in class!!
Professor Yoder does not get the credit she deserves. Her lectures are easy to follow because she explains things well. Just do the homework and make a good cheat sheet and you should be good. I really don't understand why her reviews are so mixed. I would definitely recommend her! 10/10
Dr. Yoder is super honest and makes following class simple. Attendance is optional but you need to go to stay on track. She gives you the choice of taking quiz or not. She makes things simple and never shames people for asking questions. She is very helpful and truly cares about her students. She shouldn't have any mixed ratings.
I'm not sure why Dr. Yoder has so many bad reviews. She's one of the best teachers I have had. She is very nice and really explains everything in good details. What she does in her lectures are pretty much the same things on the tests. She even took time to learn every kids name in a 125 person lecture. Great teacher
If you end up taking this your last semester of college, good luck. Be sure to show up to class, it's the only way to know the material. You should know that if you do fail and you are extremely close to passing, she won't help. I mean, I failed because of her and ended up cancelling my job, my apartment, my vacation. Class material isn't that bad.
The class itself isn't really hard but be sure to attend class every day if you want to get the notes. She let the class vote on how our exams would be structured (two-day vs one day), vote was split 75-25 so her "solution" was to have the first two exams be two-day tests and switch it on the last exam to a one day test with a different format.
Professor Yoder makes the material pretty easy to grasp and allows a cheat sheet or note sheet on each of the exams, which I literally fit all of the class outlines on to. It definitely helps to attend class and take your own notes although attendance isn't mandatory.
Very clear with material and an overall very good teacher. It is clear what is expected of you. No attendance policy but you need to attend in order to do well. Everyone gets to make a formula sheet for exams which really helps. If you are given the option to take quizzes in the class, SAY NO.
She is very straightforward and honest. I 100% regret taking quizzes bc no formula sheet. No attendance policy per se, but if you miss class, you MISS it all. Nothing is posted. You must have immaculate notes and put it all on a formula sheet for the test. You must be highly engaged in class. Not tech savvy at all. Good classroom environment.
I don't understand how she doesn't have better reviews. She cares about her classes and listens to student feedback; your class grade is entirely up to how much effort /you/ put in. Attendance isn't counted for a grade but is very important to your understanding. She is a super friendly/funny prof and lets us make note sheets for all exams.
Yoder has a bad reputation for being a bad teacher but she is awesome. Very personable and knows how to teach the material in her course. If you go to class and pay attention, she teaches well enough that you will be able to comprehend what she is teaching. Don't listen to everybody else, Yoder is amazing.
Take her!! Communicates exactly what you need to know and if you go to class/pay attention/take notes you should do well. You get a 2 sides of paper for each exam where you can basically transfer all your notes. Definitely get familiar with the excel template she give you, it is a life saver. Also choose not to take quizzes, it wasn't worth it!!
Attendance is not mandatory but if you do not go you will not pass the class and she will know who comes to class by her little notecards she has you make on the first day about yourself that you give back to her. Do not get on this teacher's bad side or she will have an attitude back towards you. I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER.
I can't believe how many negative reviews there are on here about Dr. Yoder. She was very kind in class, especially if you put in the effort and work to do well. Class was very structured and the notes were easy to follow. While attendance is technically not mandatory do have to show up to class in order to get the notes.
GREAT PROFESSOR. She explains everything clearly and encourages questions and actually answers them. Give good prep for the exams- just redo hw, review notes, and do the practice probs. She is funny and nice and gives you everything you need to get the best grade. Tests are straightforward. Listens to our feedback. Makes the tough class easy.
Dr. Yoder is one of my favorite professors hear at Clemson. She tells you exactly what to know, and what will be on the exam. The exams are two days, which I really liked. There is no attendance policy, but if you do not go to class, you will not do well. She does not post on Canvas for the material. Just go to class and you will perfectly fine.
Sara Yoder is not a good professor. She withholds her notes and will not post them. She doesn't give the correct test answers back even when you go to her office hours. Although she doesn't count attendance, if you do not go to class you will fail this course. I recommend not taking quizzes, and make sure you know someone else in the class.
This was probably the worst professor that i have taken at Clemson. was warned about her before taking the class. she tells you to do practice problems and then does not give you any. Her exams are extremely harder than they need to be and she knows that. Homework is through web-assign and it has nothing to do with the exams.
I was warned about professor Yoder before taking her class. I had no other option, other than to take her. By far the worst professor at clemson in every single way possible. If you do not want to be miserable i highly recommend that you find ANY OTHER PROFESSOR. Good luck you have been warned
While Dr. Yoder's teaching style isn't for everyone, I found her class structure and exam prep helpful. Attending lectures and engaging with the material was key. unstuck AI made review sessions a breeze.
her negative ratings are crazy. this class is hard but she is a great professor and if you go to class and ask questions you will do well. don't recommend taking quizzes though, not worth it.
Professor Yoder is funny. The math is confusing at first but not too bad to get the hang of. The exams are split up into 2 days excel and concept. Excel portion is short answer meaning that the grading is very detail-oriented. Make sure to take notes on exactly how she wants everything analyzed, otherwise you will get docked. CHOOSE HW!!
She is an absolute blast to have as your professor if you are willing to put in the work. You get a cheat sheet for all exams, and she tells you what is expected to get full credit on the exam if you go to class. I thought quizzes were helpful for staying on top of studying and getting exposed to what exam questions would be.
Yoder's course benefits from attendance; notes aren't posted. Excel exams answers on paper, with detailed feedback & templates. Flexible grading (homework/quizzes). Homework boosts grades. Manageable workload. She's very approachable, ChatGPT helps clarify concepts. My class was in the library, locations vary. Tries to make a boring subject fun.
I do not understand why Dr. Yoder has so many bad ratings. Yes you need to go to class to get the notes but isn't that why you are in school? You have the option to take quizzes, homework, or both. I chose both but quizzes better reflect the exams that are not hard if you study. You get 2 pages of notes for each exam. I would take her 10000%.
Ignore all of the bad reviews!!! Professor Yoder's class is very doable but you need to go to class!! She clearly lays out expectations and is very willing to help you succeed in the class. She is also very funny. We also get a cheat sheet for every exam. TAKE HER FOR THIS CLASS!!!
Dr. Yoder is a great person, but her teaching style did not help me. She is clear on what is expected but her test dont follow along with homework or test will include something that is not covered nearly enough in class. Make sure to attend the class because she wont post notes. I attended every class and have still struggled through the course.
Professor Yoder does not take attendance and is very available outside of class time. I have never done as well in a math class as I have in this class. It was supposed to be a hard course but if you make good formula sheets and show up to class you will pass with an A. She truly cares about her students and knows every student by name.
Attend every class and write down EXACTLY what she does otherwise you will not do good. Got B's on the first two exams but the third exam felt like she was trying to lower her grade distribution. Barely got a D and only one person finished the exam and did not curve. She isn't bad but there are better options out there so save yourself the trouble.
Do not sign up to take the Quizzes. Professor Yoder is super nice but her tests are pretty hard. Write down exactly what she goes over during lecture. Need to show up to be successful in this course. Also try hard on the first exams so you can exempt the final.
In order to succeed, you have to attend class; it is where all the notes come from, and she explains them clearly. There are 3 tests, the concepts are harder than the Excel. Make sure you do every step and write things the exact way she wants them. Your "formula sheet" should help if you make it well. You can exempt final with an A based on points.
I'm convinced that anyone who rated Yoder positively has 0 problem with working 200% more than necessary for 3 simple credit hours (aka just not intelligent bc why would you want to work harder for something for little to no benefit). Yoder clearly has a chip on her shoulder and has some type of jealousy/spite towards college students.
I am a very average student and I have put in the most bare minimum effort in this class and got a B. Her exams are very easy if you just write down the notes (she gives you docs to write them in), this was a very easy class and I highly recommend her, she is very helpful, responds quickly to emails and wants you to succeed.
I am shocked to see so many poor ratings on Dr. Yoder. I took her for Mgt 3100 and she was amazing. Yes, the class is naturally more challenging, but she lets you make a formula sheet to bring to the tests. She learned every single persons name in our class (100+ people), and truly does care about her students. I would definitely recommend!!
Prof. Yoder makes the class easy to follow and content is reasonable to understand. You're given a full two-sided piece of paper to write anything you want for exams. Yoder also gives you guided notes. Definitely recommend taking her class.
I'm not sure why she has bad reviews she is an amazing professor and she makes the class very easy. Attendance is not mandatory and tests are very fair. You an exempt final if you have enough points (A)... DONT TAKE QUIZZES ONLY CHOOSE HW
hard class, she was good
Dr. Yoder is amazing! If you show up to class and take notes on what she says to, you'll pass with an A. Tests are a little challenging, but she lets you make formula sheets for exams.
She's very personable and kind. Class was mainly just a lecture and a group assignment, very easy and doable. Online assignment and quizzes, short and easy to do as well. Would 100% take her again, nothing bad to say about her at all.
