good instructor! fairly easy marker. her exams have a lot of 'little things' that are found in the fine print of the text or notes so..be careful with that.needs to explain things more clearly. rushes lectures/notes a bit. laughs uncontrollably at times!

Not as easy as everyone says. Nice lady, but the class was nothing like i expected. u spend 50% of the semester learning about boring bones. 15% about bugs. and the rest on mildly interesting stuff. bones exam is pretty hard, and like i said v. boring.

Great teacher! Shes super nice and a really fair marker.. doesnt trick you on tests, if you study you're guaranteed to do well. Gives really good notes and explains things well. I thought I'd hate this class but turned out loving it. Definitely recommend her.

She's a very nice teacher. Her tests are fair since there are no questions that try to steer you towards the wrong direction. All one has to do to succeed in this class is study all the material she covers in class.

She is this cute little japanese mom and she's soooo funny! I did very well in her class and did not have to spend too much time. The only hard part is the write up for the bone project but its not hard, it just takes a while. And the bones test is fine, all you have to do is memorize them and its not hard.

VERY good teacher.. knows how to keep a class interesting and entertaining and when you need help, she is willing to go out of her way to help you out. But do not be fooled; this course is not necessarily easy and the material is a lot to take in. Definately not for the faint of heart ;).

Sarah is a great instructor. Although anthropology isn't my major, I found it extremely fun. The material is very interesting and easy to learn. The bones component of the course is loaded but you'll be fine if you're good at memorizing or at the very least review the material once in a while. I highly recommend taking this course with Sarah!!

She is a very helpful teacher.Do your readings and the test will be fine. they are a combination of S/A, M/C, and short answer. The bone test is the hardest part but only becuse there is so much to memorize. Just got to all the labs every week and you will rememeber all the bones. Dont try to learn them all the week before the test!

sarah was great! the hardest part was definetly the bone test but there was PLENTY of time to study for it! And the test itself was kinda fun! I highly recommend this class! NO final!!! I took it as an elective and trust me it's an easy A if you show up and do the work! Not to mention forensic anthro is veryy interesting!

Sara was one of the best teachers I've had since I started school at Kwantlen. She makes the course so interesting that you wouldn't want to miss a class. The tests are according to her notes and the textbook so if you pay attention in class, you'll get an A for sure. Take her class! You won't regret it!

Sarah's great. She has a knack for keeping the class entertained with her wit. I found the hardest part of her course to be the sketeton identification assignment. If you were confused, she really wouldn't help in anyway to clairfy, but I guess if she did it would defeat the whole purpose of the assignment!

Sara is a great prof. She is entertaining and really makes you interested in physical anthropology. I did extremely well in the first class I took with her, as with the second. You need to take careful notes and read the text. Make flashcards and study mad for the bone test, then its easy! Easy to speak to, tell her about your future anth plans!

Sara is awesome. She's smart and funny. The bone test it isn't as hard as some people on this site have said it is. If you're good at memorizing then it's really easy. If you have an interest in Forensics I would definitely recommend Sara. Attendance isn't mandatory but once the labs start you lose marks, so just go to class and you'll do well!

Great teacher, quite funny and cute at the same time. She really knows what she's talking about and is involved will big forensic investigations in the news. Wants everyone to do well and gives you lots of notes so there's not excuse not to do good in her class! I would definately take her again!

We got to work with a real human skeleton for the Skeletal half of the semester! She knows her stuff, will tell you what to study and her tests are super easy if you attend ans study. BONE TEST: If you study you will do fine.

AWESOME TEACHER! easy A as long as you study all her notes. One test that's worth 30%, a 10% quiz, bone test 30%, labs 20% (dont miss any labs!), and then a final test worth 10%. SARA IS SO CUTE AND FUN. TOTALLY RECOMMENDED! :D

Awesome teacher, she definitely knows her material well. Her notes are kinda vague so you have to read the textbook when studying. She gives you an outline WAY ahead of time, which is great. The essay questions are in the outline and they're very straight forward. The tests are easy if you study. I barely study and still did well.

Excellent teacher. Very enthusiastic. You can tell she's really interested in this topic. No papers, no homework. Bone test wasn't too bad. You will learn the bones just working with them in class. I'm horrible at memorizing and still did well. I found the labs were harder because there's less prep time and you don't know what to expect.

Really easy!! All you need to do is pay attention to what she says in class and go in early to review the bones if you want to do well on the bone test. Easy A.

MEMORIZATION is key... people in this class with bad memory should review the material A LOT. I had a tough time with it, mostly because I didn't study enough. Labs are EXTREMELY easy, simple measurements and observations.. in other words they are easy marks if you can use a caliper properly (should be easy for the average person).

Sara is a great teacher and enthusiastic about what she teaches. However, this class is good if you are willing to put in the time and memorize everything. This class is all memorization. So be prepared. Her notes (she does on an overhead projector) are sloppy but it's nothing to complain about.

No homework, most of the stuff is all memorizing bones and knowing features of said bones. It's a really easy course if you like learning about the skeleton. Also, participate in class! It's better for you, and for Sara when you're involved. She's an awesome prof, and you should also get used to her saying "chunky bit". Made me laugh every time.

I sit in her class for an hour and half and literally feels like i've been sitting there for only 20 mins cos the class is soo interesting that time goes by really fast! She is pretty test heavy, and get ready to take notes in class and on the textbook readings. If you put in the effort, you will get a good grade in her class. I had Sara for Forensic Anthropology. She was extremely engaging and really easy to learn from. She has tons of amazing stories and is really funny. I have gone to her office hours and she's very helpful and accommodating. She really cares about her student's success. I would 100% take again. If you want to get a good grade you need to show up.

Her lectures are very important to show up to, she gives detailed notes that will help in passing the quizzes and tests. Although her lectures are quite heavy, she keeps things relaxed and makes lectures very entertaining. Definitely one of the funniest professors that I have had. This course requires memorization, but it's very enjoyable with Sara. It is a fair course for university level. The more effort you put into it, the more successful you will be.

Considering a career in the field ever since I took her course. Her lectures are very engaging. There are a few tests which are consistent with lecture material, so as long as you are present and taking notes you will do good. You will deal with real human bones so that's fun. 10/10 would recommend!

Sara's class changed my life and changed my education path. I took forensic anthropology and biological anthropology with her and both classes were equally as awesome. I have since switched my major to anthropology in hopes to be half as cool as she is.

AMAZING TEACHER! I learned so much. The only reason why I didn't get an A+ was because I missed a forum assignment & as a result didn't get full participation marks. Additionally, after reviewing each quiz, I'm still beating myself up on how I got some answers wrong when the correct answers were so obvious. Do the work & participate for an easy A+.

Great prof overall, there is a fair bit of content in the class so keep that in mind. The first half of the class is mostly focused on theory, and the second half is human osteology (real bones!) Grades: 5 Quizzes (50%), 2 labs (20%), 4 forums (5%), and the BBBR (25%). Draw diagrams to help preparing for the BBBR, it's not as bad as you think.

Sara is an amazing prof!! You can tell she really cares and is passionate about anthropology. There's a forum post every now and then and as long as you put extra effort into them, you'll get a good mark. Be prepared to do a lot of reading in this course.

Sara is a great professor, she has pre-recorded lectures for online classes and they are always fun to watch. I don't find them boring and she always teaches very interesting topics. She gives a lot of time to students to read the text (provided), watch her lectures (10-30 minutes long), and weekly quizzes that are about 30 questions each.

Amazing professor. Do not miss any class, if you need to just email her. I miss one class, and she told me to take the test later. This is an interesting class, you will deal with real bones. But buy a textbook, their will be questions coming straight from textbook. Read chapter thoroughly. Be ready to identify any bone in 45 seconds.

She's so nice and has great lectures. It's definitely not an easy course and there are MC quizzes worth 8-9% every week but as long as you study and do the readings youll do fine. You have to try. Other then that she's an amazing prof who rlly loves what she does. She also has a cat that shows up occasionally.

Short quizzes every week are usually paired with a discussion post. Ensure you cite in your posts and do not be afraid to write extra as there are bonus points. Textbooks are free! Her lectures were very short and were summaries of the chapters. Make sure you can identify and compare skeletal remains. She also responds to emails quickly. No final.

amazing prof, she inspired me to pursue anthropology. super funny, good lectures, speaks clearly and is helpful. be ready to study a lot tho, there is a lot of memorization for this class

Professor Yoshida is passionate and engaging. While the class has weekly quizzes and lots of reading, the material is fascinating. I found unstuck ai super helpful for prepping - definitely saved me some time and effort. With the free textbook and her clear lectures, you can do well if you stay on top of the work.
