This semester was her first and so far everyone loves her. She is understandable, easy, and try's her best to help you get an A on any assignment. I would highly recommend her. I would take her again any day.
Very cool teacher. She's very helpful when you need her and she's very understanding. Easy B if at least do all the work and is not so great with the essays. She can grade a little tough on essays but it's ok, she's not too hard :)
One of the best english classes I've ever had so far. Mrs. Antinora does a great job of helping you become a better writer and provides plenty of feedback on every writing assignment. There's a good amount of work, but nothing impossible. The course information is quite interesting and due to her cheerful nature, class can be quite entertaining.
She is pretty great! she always keeps you up to date with deadlines, she in not big on pop quizzes always tells you what will be done the fallowing lecture. Good listener, and gives room for mistakes, will help a lot if you come to her to talk about your papers during office hours, and she gives enough time to get everything done!
She may be a new professor at Delta, but she is a good teacher. Everyday I looked forward to going to her class. I was a terrible thesis statement writer and now I am actually good at it. Out of all the English teachers there, she's the best. Unless you're looking for an easy A and expect not to do anything, then I guess this wouldn't be for you.
I learned a lot in this class. There is a lot of reading and we wrote 5 essays. My writing definitely improved and I would take her again. Go to office hours; she's really helpful.
I took this class in Fall 2014. She's very nice and is always there to help you. Home work was easy and she always looks for participation. She grades essays fairly and assigns homework sometimes. Attendance is mandatory and she tries her best to get her students involved with interesting topics. Overall, class was pretty good.
she's one of those professors that forgets that students take other classes. If you're only taking this one class than you will be fine but good luck taking her with any other units. She gives out tons of homework and readings. She's a tough grader but she's a nice person. Take her if you think you can handle the load.
Assigns an entire book for you to read over spring break. Speaks for itself.
She is nice. However, if you are not good in literature, don't take her.
She loves literature, but she doesn't know how to help students in writing.
I loved this class. I would definitely take her again. My writing improved a lot.
Good teacher, very helpful WHEN you ask, had good lectures... gave different perspectives on things, read A LOT, especially for hw however writing has improved at the end of the semester. Everyone in class passed mastery essay.
She gives A LOT of work! A lot of writing is required for poems, short stories, Shakespeare, & assigns a whole 500+ page book to read due over spring break. All books she assigns are required for the class & makes it difficult if you don't have them. Attendance really counts. Final was a 7 pg paper minimum! Other essays & summaries were given too.
I took Antinora for Eng 45 Shakespeare and Eng 1A. I am an English major, and I learned a lot from both classes and really enjoy her style. In 45, there were three short papers (2 p), discussion board posts, and an in-class final for which we knew the question ahead of time. You read the plays together in class. It's a great intro to Shakespeare.
An amazing English teacher! I recommend taking her. Professor Anitora has a great outgoing personality. Her class is always fun. If it wasn't for her help, I would have not passed English 1A
she is a great teacher, and she allows students to write freely in essay... of cause, you still have to follow a few guild-line but things are easy-cheesy. she is not the traditional type that tell you to write an essay exactly follow the format, so i really like her.
She's very helpful and you always know what to expect in that class. It's very organized.
This was my first online class and I am glad it was with her. She gives a lot of feedback and the assignments are clear. She responds to email right away.
She was one of my favorite professors. You do write a lot of essays however she gives you examples and very specific prompts, and lot's of time to work on them. Go to class and she'll help you out a lot. She's pretty laid back and makes everything really relatable. I would totally recommend taking her for any English classes.
This was my second time taking 79, first time with her. I passed the mastery this time, so I am taking 1A with her. She is super helpful in office hours. I recommend her class.
Professor Antinora is an amazing teacher in many ways: committed, caring, engaging, organized, and she definitely knows her subject well. She was clear with what she expected out of the students' work, and the bar was never set higher than realistically possible. She gives incredible feedback to your essays, and office hours can be a life saver.
She's my favorite professor !! She gives excellent feedback and really wants you to learn the material!! Hands down, best professor ever. She also likes cats ALOT.
She is a great teacher! She gives a lot of homework. She gives good feedback on your essays and expects you to read all the books. She will quiz you after each book. Make sure you read! Over all good teacher.
I've always thought that I was a horrible writer, she made me see otherwise. Hands down the BEST teacher at Delta. You will not regret taking this class.
I would take this class all over again if I had to retake. I thought this instructor was very helpful. I understood everything she lectured and she explained the coursework on a timely manner. I never felt confused . Her tests are not so hard either.
It is a pretty easy online class. Professor Antinora makes it clear what and when something is due. She's also willing to work with you. It's important to do everything assigned. Do the discussion questions every week, especially if you are not a good essay writer, so you can balance the points. The assigned readings are also interesting.
Honestly, her class was hard and she was a tough grader when it came to essays but other than that she doesn't give up on students. She was okay.
This class was a lot of work, but I learned so much! Even though the class is long, it never felt like it. Take it with Eng 95. The coaches help a lot! I will definitely take her again.
She was very clear when it came to assignments (how it should be done, when it was due, etc..) She also seemed to genuinely care about learning as opposed to simply passing her class.
Pretty good class. Every week read about 2 short stories and do discussion on them and a short 5 question quiz based on the story. Only have to buy one novella for 15 dollars. Also there are 2 essays and 1 PPT. And the final is 2 questions and writing 3 paragraphs for each question. I liked reading about women in literature. Fun class. Take it.
I took English 57 (Children's Lit) online Spring 2020. This is not a difficult class. There is a bit of reading and writing, but with a little effort and you will easily pass this class. The readings were all online, which I appreciated. She gives a lot of feedback, joins conversations and answers questions unrelated to the class.
I've always gotten A's in my English classes until I took her class. Isn't as great as the ratings given. Tough grader but explains how she wants the essay/work done. I would always get a Not Yet on my essays which would take me by surprise. Class was harder than expected, don't expect an easy A. don't take this class if you procrastinate a lot.
Great teacher. She lets you revise every essay, gives good feedback, and honestly cares about her students.
Her online class is really well organized. We read six plays, wrote two essays, and created one project. She helped me to become much more comfortable with Shakespeare. The best thing is how she cares for her students. I had her during the pandemic. She checked in on us multiple times and was so understanding. I wish I could take her again.
We wrote several essays and read 3-5 books so I suggest speaking with her often on her take on your ideas of proper construction of a thesis statement. I passed with a B+ but went on to 1B and got an A so good luck
I would totally recommend taking Professor Antinora's class. She offers so much help on essays and assignments and gives feedback on everything as well. The workload is manageable, it is an English class so of course there will be a decent amount of reading and writing.
I recommend Antinora. The class is organized and I have learned a lot. Plus, she responds to messages immediately which I appreciate. There is a good amount of reading and writing, but it's Eng 1A, right?
Excellent instructor. Professor Antinora gives wonderful feedback and remains involved in teaching by actually caring about whether or not her students understand the material. Students have a chance to revise major essays, and as long as you take heed of feedback given, those revisions are easier than pie.
Wonderful teacher. Gives the best feedback on all assignments, discussion posts, and essays. Replies to emails very quickly. Very sweet and passionate about the subject matter. Her grading system makes it impossible to not pass the class.
One of the best professors ever. I had a double class with her, ENG 1A as well as ENG 95 and they both went by so fast. She also had many coaches to guide us which was very helpful. Overall an amazing person and professor! Would definitely take her again.
This was my favorite class. She sends lots of reminders, so you always know what's due. Go to her office hours because she's so helpful! I'm not the best writer and I got an A. Do the work, do the revisions, and you'll do fine.
The way professor Antinora has ENG 1B set up makes this class an easy A if you put in the effort. The required readings were actually interesting. This course is reading heavy as there are novels, short stories, and poems you have to read and annotate. She replies very fast with amazing feedback. I would recommend her to anyone.
One of the best classes I've taken at Delta. She is very clear about what she expects for the assignments and gives clear feedback on the essays. The course load wasn't super light but definitely manageable. Totally changed my perspective on reading Shakespeare and made me feel much more confident in my writing. Highly recommend!
Professor Antinora is very kind and cares about what she is teaching. What she expects from an assignment is very clear, and she gives amazing feedback that is specific so you can fix exactly what she asks for. However this class is one where it does require a lot of work, lots of reading and writing and it is best not to procrastinate!
I love Dr. Antinora, she is so funny and nice. I hated her class bc of English in general. she is an amazing person and professor. She is extremely caring and will go out of her way for you. Just make sure to not procrastinate. I would love to have her as a professor again, bc she explains everything well and lets u fix things for a better grade.
I give her a rating of 4 because the grade is locked and you can't determine what grade you have on canvas. Overall the class have children's books to read, discussions (including book club discussions), annotate assignment, culminating projects, and a final exam. As long you read and understand the material, you will have no stress for this class.
Prof Antinora will grade your assignments as not attempted, not yet, pass (for most assignments & projects), and high pass for culminating projects. Follow the rubric and the requirements for the unit projects as those are worth big in your grade. Make sure your projects need to be in a high pass or pass. If you can't pass, don't take this class.
Truly amazing professor. English is NOT my strong suit. Yet, she made English enjoyable. She allows revisions of projects for a higher grade. Accepts late work. Cares about her student's mental health. Gets back to emails very quickly. 10/10 Professor.
The best Professor I've ever had, hands down! Her lectures are simple and to the point. She is very clear with her grading, but is human when life happens. You will have to do check in's with either her or a coach. Helped me with accountability!.
Professor Antinora is great, I just loved everything about her class . She had been really helpful throughout the semester. She is very good at explaining things. The best
Highly recommend taking her. She's straightforward about the work she assigns us. Each week is planned out which makes the class overall very organized and easy to keep track of. Lots of reading but they're very interesting. Gives good feedback on essays and allows us to revise them for a high pass.
Dr.Antinora is the best! I have taken two of her classes and i've signed up for another next semester. She provides endless resources and is super tech savvy. She provides great feedback and allows you to redo your essays for a better grade. She typically assigns three major essays within the semester with discussion questions inbetween.
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Antinora. This was not an easy class, but that is the point. She pushes you to do better and is very helpful. This class is a hybrid class. Make sure you show up because you learn something new every time. She is very organized online and it is easy to locate everything you need. Take her class!
Dr. Antinora is hands down the best English Professor at Delta. she lets you revise the first three essays to earn a better grade and only wants her students to succeed. I got an A in the class and would love for anyone second-guessing to understand one thing.....TAKE HER!!!!!
She is helpful for the whole way through.
Enjoyed her lectures and connections she made. I did not like her grading system, awful. Assignments were either marked as complete of incomplete. If you made the slightest mistake, it would count as incomplete and bring your grade down. She also didn't allow you to even know what grade you had until the end of the semester. The worst.
I am not the best writer, but I loved this class and teacher. She allows students to revise the first three essays. I revised all three of mine to earn an A in the class, and I didn't find the revision process to be difficult. She explains exactly what you should do to make essays better. She is super nice too.
I truly enjoyed this class. Dr.Antinora cares about her students and it shows. She is flexible with assignments and will work with you. No text book, but you will be placed in a book club as part of the class- reading children's book. Also, do the honors project! She lays everything out, very easy and doable. Plus looks good on your transcript.
3 presentation projects, 1 one pg letter, and an essay as projects. Projects were easy and you can read off your slides! Group work is being assigned to a book club and having biweekly discussion boards w/ group. Work for the week is easy, discussion board and leaving about 3 annotations on videos for most part (sometimes text in beginning of sem).
Dr. Antinora is a great professor. She is caring and wants her students to succeed. We had a total of 4 essays. As long as you manage your time and stay on top of the assignments, you will do great. She answers emails quickly and is very helpful. She gives students an opportunity to revise their essays. I would recommend her to anyone.
I loved this class! You will read a lot, but the amount per week wasn't overwhelming and the stories are all very interesting. Dr. Antinora is flexible, responds quickly to questions, and really cares for her students. The workload was manageable and fun, and you can revise the essays (there were only 3) for a higher grade. Highly recommend!
Best Professor. Be sure to participate and do the work. Follow her guidelines and you should be good. Really friendly and helpful profesor.
Professor Antinora has been a favorite professor of mine so far. The high pass/pass/not yet grading system pushes students to better focus on the actual subject matter, rather than saying whatever they think will earn them a high grade. Her feedback is extremely helpful, and has led me to greatly improve my work between the rough and final drafts.
Provided thorough feedback (notes, videos, emails) and has clear instructions for assignments. Work is easy to complete and depends on your reading, which is also assisted since you will be doing various annotation assignments. I loved this class and would recommend it.
I recently passed ENG2A with Dr. Antinora because she was able to help me become a better writer. I also like her grading policy because it pushes students to improve, making her work assignments manageable. Overall, She is kind and patient when students need help understanding something. I recommend taking her to help develop your writing skills.
Prof. Antinora was really nice and helpful throughout the semester. You will have 3 projects that pretty much determine your grade. The only complaint I would have is that you kind of have no clue what your grade is until the very end. Other than that she was awesome, would recommend!
Honestly not the best English professor. Don't believe the good reviews. Her grading systems horrible and her feedback isn't good either. She tells you to fix one thing and then after resubmitting an assignment adds more saying it's not complete. She nit picks on a lot. Don't take her she's really not a good professor.
Pass or fail class, graded essays hard and only relied on essays to pass the class.
Highly recommend this class to anyone apprehensive about taking it! Antinora really sets her class up to succeed in every way. Every week there is a discussion and a small homework assignment. Every month or so there is an essay (total of 4). She has a lenient submission policy too where you can submit up until end of unit and revise essays.
Terrible does not let you see your grades till end of semester and even after allowing revisions with what to change she still fails the assignment. I had to relearn all my skills from eng1a because she likes things differently. I really expected this class to be good due to rating but Im disappointed. A waste of so much stress for nothing Garbage
I was nervous about taking Eng 1B but I ended up liking this class. She replies quickly and is super helpful in office hours. If you are nervous take her!
Dr. Antinora is a terrific English professor. She lets her students do essay revisions in order to get a passing score on the essay. The annotation and discussion board assignments are straightforward. I met with her during her office hours and she was so patient and understanding with me. Take her rubric feedback as constructive criticism.
Professor Antinora is an excellent teacher who truly cares about her students' learning. She makes sure you understand the lectures and assignments. This was a hybrid class, and she required us to purchase a book that was affordable and really helped break down the readings. I love her teaching style because she made me feel confident in my writing
I was very disappointed to have this professor and her not matching the reviews. She gives a ton of homework. I'm usually very good at English but her class was something else. Her grading system is also not ideal. If you want to feel like you're taking a 5 unit English course then she's for you but definitely recommend a different professor.
Literally the most supportive professor I have ever had. This was my favorite class, but the thing is how much she cares about her students.
Professor Antinora is so sweet. Her coursework is very straightforward. This is my favorite English class. She is very lenient and allows late work! The workload is reasonable. Really enjoy her lectures. We had 4 essays throughout the semester. Our final is an essay. I would recommend taking her!
(Disclaimer: I took ENG 43D offered by Dr. Antinora, but it was not an option available so I selected the closest one) Dr. Antinora's teaching style is superior to any I've experienced. She explains assignments in great depth and shows examples, and always offers helpful feedback in the comments. I've never had a more genuine teacher.
This is one of my favorite English classes ever. The class flew by every week. Everything we read was relateable and the essays were not too hard. She really cares about her students.
If you are taking this class just for the credit i suggest either doing it online or not even taking it the class is early in the morning and 3 hours long, let alone the fact the professor has hw assigned on odd days of the class and the grading criteria is unusual especially for essays.
Excellent teacher, took the class online.
Dr. Antinora was a caring professor. I took her course during the fall. Her assignments were often due on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It was difficult turning things in on time, especially during the weekdays. She assigned many papers with harsh criteria. However, she allowed for corrections, allowing a chance to improve your grade.
My favorite English Professor! Gives great feedback and is very passionate about her field, which makes learning from her enjoyable. If you have to take an English class, take one from Professor Antinora.
She is a great professor. Organized, professional, understanding and willing to help the best way she can. Overall, a great professor
Great professor she is super involved, and her lectures were enjoyable. Your grade mainly depends on the essays, but she allows you to revise the essays for a higher grade. I reached out to her a few times, and she was very helpful and understanding. She gives valuable feedback on essays and wants her students to do well.
