She is one of the nicest ladies in the world. I really thought that the class was going to be a little easier but it wasn't. She is around for extra help but she does tend to help the older people a little more than the young ones..

She is an awesome teacher. She knew I was struggling in that class and she always took the time to help me out so I can pass the class. Wanted to her students succeed.

Mrs. Bales is so nice, she is one of the nicest teachers I have ever had!!! she is so funny and makes class so much fun. she turns regular lectures into funny and easy to understand examples. her class is so much fun. You should definalty take her.

She is one of the best teachers I have had at Moraine, really wants her students to suceed, encourages you to come to her if you need help, very good lectures, concise, no surprises ever, always prepares you, would take her again.

Very good at explaining, knows what she's talking about. Makes the class pretty interesting w/ her own stories. To pass tests/quizzes you need to study, but you get an objective sheet so it's easier to study. Cat lab is a pain but she is very helpful w/ it.

Prof. Bales is a great teacher, but expects ALOT out of her students, but she is willing to bend over backwards to help everyone. She is also able to keep the class upbeat and interesting, and adds some personal stories that help you understanding concepts a little better. I would definately take her again for another class.

She was an AWESOME teacher. If you have trouble with anything, shes more than glad to help. She won't tell you the answer but she'll help you till you find it. The class is a challenge at times, but with the notes she gives, you always have something to study from. Be prepared to take A LOT of notes.

Shes a very hard teacher she will definatly make you work for your grade. Alot of studying is required. She does not give you any slack on her essay questions on the exams its either all right or all wrong no buts about it.

The class was hard but quizzes were easy if you studied for them. She did not prepare us well for the test. She was very helpful and fun.

anatomy's gonna be hard no matter what, but she didn't use the book which is great. just study her notes, memorize them inside and out, and you'll do fine on the test. do the objectives she gives you b4 the exams and you'll ace them. simple class if you're willing to put the time in.

all those talking bad about her are idiots, and trust me im the lazy king.lectures are personal not cold, and tests arent hard as long as you read over the notes. you all want the truth so here: miss a class your screwed, little help except from lab table and if you want a class you can blow off this aint it, but if you like bio take her!!!!!!!!!!!

She is a good teacher. She is always there for you when you need help. Her tests are only hard if you don't put the time and effort into it. Read the book along with her notes. Make sure to study for the practicals. The lab is very helpful. To get a good grade you have to put in the time and effort.

She is a cool teacher, but DO NOT cross her. She erupted in a display of profanity towards the class on one occasion. She gives good test outlines and her practicals are very fair. She is available to give extra help as well. A great teacher, but her social skills leave something to be desired.

i am taking the intersession class of bio180 which is crammed into a 3 week course. she is always there for extra help and all the tools she gives you to study from are very helpful. I HIGHLY recommend this teacher. As long as you are dedicated and study you will do fine in her class.

Professor Bales is the greatest and most nicest teacher anyone can get. She really is very helpful and understandable. If you open up truthfully to her she WILL help you, but you have to do your part also. I have really enjoyed her class. She briefs the class on exactly what is going to be on her test. Study the notes and packets for tests.

She is an absolutley amazing teacher. I took her class in the summer as a 3 week course. It was a lot of information and the classes were 5 hours, but if you pay attention, study for the tests and practicals you will do great! She is the best teacher to take.

Mrs. Bales is a very good teacher if you want to learn biology. The class is hard and you have to work for your "A" but it is possible as long as you attend class, take your own notes, complete the study guides and take the online quizes the book offers.

ehhhhh. what can i say about this lady. She is by no means easy. im on the verge of withdrawing from her class. Shes a very nice lady. a little sarcastic at time though. I guess i just didnt put enough time in. I think she is fair though

I think everyone is rating Mrs. Bales too harshly. Im in her Bio-111 class now, and it is very easy! You have to READ the Chapters though! It gives you a better understanding of what is going on in the lectures, labs and tests. Read, and study in your off time is mandatory!!! Easy to get a B, this is by no means a blow off class. Great teacher tho.

Bales is nice as long as you do not cross her...I took her class on fridays from 8 am to 1 pm the class was very hard most people dropped you just need to study and go to open lab in order to pass the practicals :)

If u are considering this teacher for BIO181 you will need to READ READ READ! She does give extra credit but its not for alot of points (2 pts each maybe). She makes herself available during lab time and even via e-mail. She was very encouraging. She focuses alot on histology (know how to use a microscope). Good Luck.

Ms.Bales was always helpful. she does offer some extra credit, like 3-4 pts for a study guide. You do have to read the book to get information not covered in class. The quizzes she writes, based on lectures. Tests are departmental.

EASY CLASS. TAKE NOTES ITS MOSTLY THE TESTS. SHE PUTS A FEW QUESTIONS FROM THE TEXT ON THE TEST BUT IF YOU FOLLOW HER LECTURE AND NOTES YOU CAN GET AN A. LABS ARE EASY CLASS USUALLY ENDED EARLY.

it's a&p people, it's tough and requires effort..she lectures crystal clear and LETS YOU KNOW that there are things on the test she didnt lecture on. you earn your grade in the class and have to study, but it is college so get over it. any questions you have are answered clearly and she wants you to understand. very nice and i would recommend her

I took this class for a 4 week summer session knowing that I would have to study a lot to get a good grade. Professor Bales made it very easy by giving us exactly what we needed to know for the tests. Labs were easy and helpful! She answered every question I had very clearly. You have to work hard for a good grade, but definitely worth it!

I took Prof. Bales for the 4 week summer course. It is a difficult course but Professor Bales is VERY helpful!She always answered questions and did whatever she could do to help you out. I would recommend her to everyone! She gives study guides that will let you know exactly what is on her exams. She is the best! Study hard and you will do well!

She hands out a new note packet everyday at lecture so attendance is important!The tests only contain about 10-15% of the note packet though, so make sure you UNDERSTAND the material.Also, at the end of every test is a fill in the blank or a short answer question. So be prepared!

To get an A = MUST study min 2hr/day. Ask questions, she will clarify. Do all assignments as you get them: HW, Study Guides, and Review Notes. Quizzes may be hard if not prepared. Exams are hard, MUST prepare. She made class fun, simplified material, gave assistance when asked! Good Luck!

Shes a good anatomy professor but is really tough on her exams so you need to study every day. Anatomy is a tough class no matter what teacher you have but if youd like a challenge and study alot take her! Her exams are very tricky as well.

Phenomenal Teacher. Took her for 4 week anatomy and obviously its an insane ammount of work. However, she will ALWAYS give out a lab and lecture objective sheet detailing EXACTLY what's on the test, if you do it and still manage to fail her test, you might as well drop and take 115 because you're clearly not ready for a class of this calibur.

This class was easy for me and Professor Bales was super nice ! She always had funny stories so we don't get bored in lecture. She gives up to 3 points extra credit before each test because they are a little challenging. Labs aren't too hard and if you ask for help, she's willing to explain. I recommend her :)

She was a good teacher. Always pleasant to talk to and always willing to help if you put in the effort. She gives you a course objectives sheet before each test that has most all of the topics that are going to be on the test. I showed up to the final 30 mins late and she still let me take it. Very nice!

i took bio180 &181 in the summer. one in 4 weeks and other in 8 weeks she was awsome. she is hot looking teacher for her age. just study her notes and you will do fine. she loves tennis.

Sarah Bales is a really nice teacher and cares about her students. her class can get quite distracting at times with her rants about her family and near death experiences. But Mrs. Bales has one quirk...she says "type a thing" between almost every word she says. Over the semester she said it 454 times! Keep the count going! love

I went into this 4 week anatomy class with mixed feelings about this teacher because of things i had heard from other people who have taken her. She honestly wasn't as bad as everyone made her seem to be and I really enjoyed her class. I would HIGHLY recommend taking her for any bio class.

I was never a fan of science but she explained everything pretty clearly and when she saw me struggling on a quiz, she pulled me to the side and let me retake the quiz without any penalties. I wish more teachers were like Professor Bales!

She is friendly and very helpful. She'll occasionally cut you some slack. One thing that needs to be said is that her lectures have almost nothing to do with the test. They're very helpful for the labs but you'll need to study the textbook in order to get a good grade on quizzestests. I

Great person! I enjoyed talking and learning from the professor! She is tough but it's because of the content that she teaches, it would be tough with anyone. She is there for her students and wants to help you at all times. Gave a lot of time to work on lab work, and time to practice with models.

Had her for Bio 111, and she was a great teacher. Gives a lot of visuals in her power points which I found extremely helpful when trying to remember the material. Put a picture to the words always makes Biology easier. You will have to pay for a Pearson program online for hw and EC. A lot of work but you can use anything to get the answer.

Fill in the blanks of the notes gives you & if you know how to add additional notes (an active learner) then all you have to do is study and know it. It's not a cake walk, but it's a lot of info to learn. Do all the online stuff and it will only help. Got an A. She's a good teach. No one just give out grades, you work hard & earn'em.

Very nice person, but very tough teacher. You absolutely NEED to read the book to do well on her exams. Some questions on her exams are very tricky. But if you work hard, study at least an hour or two a day, you will do well.

honestly its an extremely hard class. Practicals are timed, open ended, and spelling counts, so that sucked. But honestly it really forced me to study and forced me to actually learn the information instead of just memorize temporarily. shes easy to approach. shes helped me out in other classes, and every test she offeres extra credit

Professor Bales was one of my favorite professors at Moraine Valley. This class was a tough class, but she made it possible to do well. I worked very hard and studied a lot for an A, which most anatomy classes will require. If you had a question she doesn't hesitate to answer it to the best of her abilities. Great teacher.

Sarah Bales is my favorite professor at Moraine. Had her for bio180 and everything she said made sense. if you pay attention in class and do the homework youll be okay. Too bad Bales didnt teach bio181.. got stuck with prof zasadny for bio181 and shes a heart attack. Bales is highly recommended!!!

Professor Bales is great! Do you have to work hard? Yep. Welcome to college, folks! Shes very understanding and explains material in a way you can understand. If you work hard and study well, youll do just fine!

She was so nice. Though I didn't feel like the labs and lectures matched up. Really difficult if you don't study HARD. Super reasonable person, kind and funny. She is there to help. Lectures are long but you get to leave if you finish your lab early. HW assignments on MMB are easy points. there are quizlets for majority of the questions.

BIO-180 is a hard course in itself so you absolutely must study. If you expect to walk out of class and be given all the information from the professor, you will fail. Professor Bales is not a bad teacher, she clearly cares for her students and their success but you need to be willing to ACTUALLY study. 10 hours a week MINIMUM.

Honestly shocked at all the negative comments. BIO180 is not a gen ed. be ready to study. With that said, I passed anatomy at an actually tough program and this is nothing in comparison. yall so soft Professor Bales stops multiple times to remind you her course is serious and holds your hand to make sure you study and gives lotta useful handouts

Professor Bales is genuinely a nice and humble teacher and the only teacher that made me like biology. She's a good teacher and helps you understand what's going on and makes it known that you have to study. Even though when you ask her questions during labs she gives you sass, she still is willing to help you out. She's a good teacher and iconic.
