Sarah made a 3 hour a night class seem to go by very quickly, which is a hard thing to do. She is very enthusiastic about the subject and taught us lots of interesting things that relate to contemporary issues that we are facing. Very helpful teacher, and one of the stars at Southwestern College. You won't regret taking her class!

She is the best teacher for sociology.she makes everything fun and easy.She gives tons of extra credits.Her test are way easy.she gets it from the study guide and you don't even really have to do it in a way that she discuss everything about it in class.its just a matter of listening and understanding what she says.Im not smart but got 110%final g

Im taking her social problems class and it is not easy but its interesting and one thing to say about this teacher is she is helpful and always respond to emails fast to try to help and she is fair because she follows the syllabus so we know whats next. no extra credits kinda sucks.I never took online or sociology before but she has my interest

I thought this class was hard but interesting and I agree with another commenter that said she is fair, although not an easy class. tests were only 20 minutes but the tests were the easiest part. multiple choice, and other than that she wants essays and discussing. Online summer class, weekly quiz, DB and journal, all easy if you showed you read the chapter you got full credit. Quiz time was short but if you read the chapters it was fine. There is no midterm or final test, only a visual final project that wasn't too bad. I loved this class & professor I would recommend it.

Sarah is awesome! She makes the class fun and interesting. I learned a lot from her. Class consist of group work, discussions, clips/films and quizzes. She's also the advisor for Sociology Club... helps a lot if you're a Soc Major.

I have the upmost respect for this professor and class. She has blown my mind with her lectures and activities on a number of occasions. Alot of interaction interesting videos and disussion that will make you think about yourself and you go home telling your friends what you learned. This is one of the best. Alot of extra credit helps too.

Prof. Castillo was extremely friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend her! All her tests are based off the study guide she provides and the book she requires is simple to understand. Attend class, do the study guide, and you're ready to go! If you don't do the study guide - good luck on passing. Other than that, the Journals and EC are simple.

i took her for online and even though the tests were hard they are open book so you can just stop and check for your answers and the journal and disccussion are fine if you can just show you know what your talking about. it was work but it was a quick eight weeks and she is nice thru email. Got a b which is good for me.

I have just finished taking Profesor Castillo for online and Im pretty sure I have a A. You can't miss any work or you won't get a A but she attends all questions from email and its a interesting subject. I recommend.

Great professor, great class. You really have to keep up with the work in her 8 week online class, but I found the material interesting and not too hard as long as you stay on top of it. Weekly quizzes, discussion boards and journals. Finished with an A.

I absolutely loved this teacher and class. It's the only class I was never absent for because each day was interesting. Sarah does require reading and work but she will give lots of explanations and besides it is interesting so it is easier to learn about.

Took her class online short term. It went by really fast. Just turn in all your work and follow the schedule and it should be really easy. Also when it comes to writing on the discussion board make sure to follow the rubric and you well get full points.

I have taken Sarah for three classes now (101 135 and 110) and she is my favorite professor. She really cares for students and wants to show you a new way of looking at things. I changed my major because of her. You do have to do the reading and come to class but it's enjoyable. Def. recommend.

I took intersession (4 weeks) with Sarah and the class was really fun and enlightening. I didn't mind showing up for so many hours a week because the class was never boring. I literally think about stuff I learned in this class every day and I only wish I'd taken her for a full semester. Really opens your eyes and she is an awesome professor.

She is an amazing professor who cares about her students. She gives great lectures and has quizzes every week or two, but as long as you read the textbook you will be fine. The final is easy and get ready to work in groups.

Sara was one of the greatest professors I've ever had. I took her for a fast track, so of course she gave out a lot of work but she was so interesting and caring. She definitely makes the class worth taking. Attendance was mandatory and we had a lot of quiz's but everything she tested you on was on the study guides. Easy A.

Really good online class but she's not messing around about no late work. I'd say don't take this class unless you are good at reading/writing. Having said that, she is nice and helpful and I liked the class.

She is an awesome teacher. Definitely made me think about doing my major in sociology. The class was fast tracked during the winter intersession so it was only 4 weeks long. That being said, there were 1-2 quizzes a week. Content was easy, she covers everything in class. There was a group PowerPoint at the end of the semester.

Great professor, straight to the point. I believe I missed maybe 1 or 2 assignments, but still did fairly well. Her tests are hard though! So you have to study for it!!! Don't under estimate online testing.

I took professor Castillo way back in the day in the classroom and now for online. She remembered me which was cool and she is seriously making me rethink on changing my major to sociology. With her what learn is really interesting and she is really nice and caring. I can say she is the best professor I have had yet.

I attempted to take this course a few other times but always found the class and professors boring. I love the way she teaches and this class was so interesting and fun. I actually found myself interested and I love that she responds to everything quickly because it shows she really cares for us. TAKE HER NO DOUBT!!!!!

She is one of my best professors that I ever had in SWC. She is clear about homework and the book is interesting. Weekly quizzes are easy if you read the chapter, and you have other two homework. She gives good feedback to every comment and submission.

Online fasttrack class, so everything goes by super fast and no late work so time management is essential, but Professor Castillo gives great feedback to every assignment and she is super helpful the the class is hella interesting. Awesome professor intersting class. She gives extra credit for stuff like going to Pride parade and political marches. If you follow the syllabus and complete most of the work you are going to pass. She gave great feedback on every assignment and even though it was all online I felt like she was so caring and fun. Recommend for sure.

The world needs more teachers like her! Straightforward online class with clear grading criteria. Some extra credit, which helped a lot. She is the greatest professor. Very fun and interactive. However, you should always be logging in to get the updates. But overall, she's the greatest. Even on the final exam was a fun one. You must have a textbook with you at all times, and study it as your homework.

I have not finished the summer online class yet but have to say this professor is on the ball. Sarah replies quickly has walked me through some of the more difficult chapters and is interactive with us students. Great videos and ted talks and easy to read textbook I know I won't remember to give a shout out after class ends so yes take her.

Glad I decided to spend my summer with this online class. 8 weeks so a somewhat heave load and you have to stay organized, but manageable and the coursework was very interesting. Professor Castillo is great and everyone should take this class.

She is overall really sweet and caring. The class is interesting. Keep up with the quizzes and you'll be great. Be prepared to work in groups but it's fun. A lot of extra credit but do it all and you wont need to take the final. I would definitely take her class again.

She is a nice professor she is really kind and you need to do the quizzes to be able to pass they count much credit. I recommend you to do your notes on time because she does count it and take you long to do it. If you don reach the point to accent the final you do have to do a study guide but is the exact same thing in the final. Best profesor.

Prof. Castillo is a sweetheart! She is always sending out reminder emails about when assignments are due, and always replies to your discussion posts/ written assignments. Make sure to quote the textbook whenever completing as assignment, as she will take away points. Chapter quizzes are really easy!

Professor Castillo is one of the nicest professors you will meet. I took her course during the spring 2020 semester before it was switched online. Once it switch online, the week consisted of a discussion, Journal, and a quiz. I definitely recommended taking her class as.

She is a step above! Engaging more so then other professor I had. By far my favorite of the classes I had this semester. Do all the work and the ec and you will not have to do the final. Anyone can pass this class if dedicated! I feel like she really wants her students to succeed and that really means a lot!

Very kind and caring person. Strict on using the book! The winter session of just 3 weeks was lots of work but that made no time to be lazy and worked out good for me. Loved the zoom meetings office hours which leaves you curious for learning more. Recommended!!

She was an amazing teacher! I recommend her when taking sociology 101. She gave us worksheets with questions to help us follow through with her lectures and we had a quiz for every chapter every thursday but they were pretty easy if you read the textbook and pay attention in class.

Castillo is a gem who is invested in her student success and will even write them very helpful recommendations. Material and lecture is great and also has some plot twists so lookout lol. Fair grader and she is always on top of telling us what we need to do for success. I couldn't ask for a better professor.
