Instructor is a terrible communicator. Does NOT answer the question with a direct answer. Does not allow you to work ahead despite her syllabus saying you can work ahead. The practice quizzes are NOTHING like the graded quizzes. Really a struggle with this one. Made an A without much help from her. Would NOT recommend this instructor at all. POOR!!

Absolutely ridiculous. This is a course for NONE financial majors, key word there is NONE!! The work is substantial & only needed if you were going to work in finance. The teacher does NOT answer questions nor help & tells you that you can't work in a group & is useless. Not to mention she says work ahead but then doesn't let you see the work.

Absolutely NO communication. Do it her way, or NO way. Don't ask questions or you will be threatened. Tests don't reflect the text or the material learned from there. I would NEVER EVER recommend this teacher as she was the worst I have had. I hated the fact that she felt threatened by any statements that didn't sing her praise. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

This is the WORST professor I have ever encountered! She is rude, arrogant, and quite honestly I am not sure why she is paid because she is NEVER available and NEVER helps!!!! AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!!!

Don't take this Professor. Take Tristan Davision. I have always passed with A's but here I would of been happy with a C. I turned in the wrong assignment and she would not accept the work. Simple mistake, never missed anything, did all my work. Missed a C by one point. The problem is she is a CPA NOT A PROFESSOR. Takes a Educator to teach.

The students are right, straight up rude. Not an educator, like stated she is a CPA not a teacher.

The course material was great. The professor contrastingly was a hindrance to the learning process. She spent a lot of time majoring in minors and minoring in majors when it came to grading assignments. She also lacks proper social etiquette. I learned a lot by using outside sources, you won't learn much from the professor. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!

Horrible, rude, and an insensitive jerk! Even if she's wrong, she's right. And forget about asking for help, her response to a HW question to a classmate was "read the instructions, I'm sure you'll figure it out." Seriously, take another teacher if possible. I'm surprised she still has a job, honestly.

I do not recommend taking this class with her. Sadly, she is more concerned about her own ego than helping students learn. When asking for clarification, none is given. She is argumentative instead of constructive. I am not sure why DSC continues to employ her. Avoid at all costs!

The worst excuse for an instructor ever. Rude, won't answer questions if you dare to ask, and provided no clarification. Some of the work is busy work. The practice tests and tests are totally different. I have never had an instructor who basically didn't care. You can forget it if you don't understand anything and don't ask others. She is pitiful!

I have taken 2 online accounting classes at a different school before Daytona State. I have taken many numerous online classes here at DSC. I have NEVER come across a teacher that is so unhelpful. She refuses to clarify anything. Famous words " Refer to the syllabus". Don't bother asking for assistance on an assignment! Worst experience in college.

By far the worst teacher I have ever had. She's just a nasty person. Will pick fights with her students. She will also start yelling at them on the phone when they don't agree with her. Has poor social skills. I have never been spoken to by a teacher in my 3+ years at DSC. If she mistreats you, report her. I did. I passed with an A, but it was work

Most of the poor reviews are pretty spot on with how she is as a teacher. She definitely is a stickler with grades and is not understanding whatsoever. Had computer issues and turned an assignment in 15 minutes late. She refused to accept it for any type of partial credit, even though I explained it would cost me from passing the class. Not helpful

Completely inflexible, unwilling to work with students, her way or no way, her decision is final, won't review a grade, will not open the course to work ahead, if you get a bad grade on a quiz or can't turn in an assignment because of internet failure, too bad, doesn't provide the grading rubric she uses, every discussion post is a research paper.

Worst professor yet. Her direction is truly awful. No textbook, but provided text (Adobe) download has NO TABLE OF CONTENTS, so you're left to your own devices, to which she responds "This is a bachelor level course - you should be able to think on your own by now". I thought professors were paid to give instruction/teach!!!

Tons of reading. Understanding content was difficult, as the professor was terrible with grammar. She could not form full sentences, left test questions unfinished so the answers had to be guessed, and won't give feedback to tests via email. Office hours are horrible for the working student, so if you need a test reviewed, have to take time off

This doesn't need to be a half a semester course. No textbook all the reading materials are in PDF format. Too much reading for an faster paced course. She didn't mark what I did wrong on the Financial Literacy project she just said to compare your Excel sheet with the Answer Key Excel Sheet. Avoid if possible. I did have a good GPA before this.

Dont take her classes if you have other options. she is a tough grader. quizes and test are so heavy.

No textbook required, but provides extensive PDF weekly material to be read and then tested on. It is impossible to use the reading material to take the tests as it literally seems that the testing material is from another class. Provides very little feed-back and is not accessible during morning hours. Does not help students be successful!

If you can take another professor, DO IT!! This class is VERY difficult, and she doesn't allow you to ask for outside help, which should be allowed given this is an online course. There is no textbook, but there are weekly readings that are on average 40+ pages of PDF accounting heavy text, very hard to understand. Take in person if you can.

It's not often that I rate a professor but I had Professor Desormeaux for GEB4930 and I will have her for ACCT3024 and this is the most difficult class I have ever had. It is impossible to get a grade above an 80 most grades are around 70 no matter how much effort you put in. This is the worst professor I have ever had. Do not take her class!!

This lady has been the WORST professor I have ever taken! Not only was she unclear of instructions she was uncaring and rude. When I had to call her to talk about my course progress she not only belittled me but also was extremely shorthandded. I have never experienced such lack of respect for a student or a professor not wanting to help a student

I hears she was a hard teacher before i signed up for the class, but have to take it. With all the complaints were are the test examples so others know she is not just bad, but how she put up questions. Of lack of question as it seems. Usually you can find hints on Course Hero or at least study notes on Quizlet.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!This is the first accounting class Ive taken and she assigns 150+ pages every week of reading material and has assigned a huge project due week three of her accelerated class. She expects you to be proficient in a brand new topic with no help from her. She responds to emails with comments like "it may take some effort"

I don't put time into doing ratings but she's the teacher, you need to be warned about if you taking this class as the last class to graduate. The Department Chair tolerate her not to care about students. The course is very unclear. The materials are not consistent. Don't bother asking questions, her answer will always be "refer to the syllabus.

BEWARE! Take another professor. I was a straight-A student before taking this class. I took it online & she is no help. Weekly readings were 50-100 pages & hard to read, she is a tough grader, not reasonable, & her test questions/answers were horrible. Have to retake the class AGAIN with her, all course material is now thru a 3rd party website...

Worst professor I've ever had and she's the only option for this class. Uploads weekly PDFs that are upwards of 100 pages. Quizzes are timed and VERY difficult. Almost impossible to find quiz question information in the PDF/PPT. For an Intro to Acctng. class the workload/content was asinine. Had a 4.0 as a senior until taking this class. Got a B.

Extremely poor lectures, will not listen to what youre having trouble understanding, will completely handwave you and talk over you. Tests and quizzes are horrible, assignment work plentiful, absolute information overload with no clear way to achieve learning outcomes other than reading and cramming. God help you if you have to take her class.

All the reviews of sarah are true. She is truly awful and misleading, and it seems 100% of people who take her agree. I wish very badly I would have had someone else to choose from for this class and known prior. I can't respect her work, attitude, and professionalism even if I tried for countless reasons. Do yourselves a favor and never take her.

On of the worst professors I have ever taken at DSC. She will accuse you of cheating when all youre doing is following what she told you to do!! I highly do not recommend this teacher. Please avoid her at all costs

Sarah is the worst professor I've had. Her quizzes are impossible to pass and do not match anything in the assigned reading or power points. She is so rude when you ask her questions, she makes you feel stupid and often replies with snarky remarks. I wish I would never taken this class with her. This will be the first class I dont get an A in.

STUDENTS BEWARE. Inconsiderate professor. Rude and assignments are unclear and plentiful. I thought I was the only one, but too many reviews cannot be wrong. Like everyone else I had a high GPA, and I'm hoping to get a C just to pass since this is a core class.

SHE IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! IF you can take anyone else do it. She is not friendly and not willing to help anyone understand her class. She will make u feel so little when u ask her for help. Even if u try hard she still don't care and will give you the grade you deserve in her eyes.

This was by far the hardest class and the worst professor I've ever taken in my 2 years in DSC (awful combination, right?). The class is extremely difficult and time-consuming and I would strongly suggest not taking it in 10 weeks and waiting until fall or spring. The prof. is completely useless and I had to use lots of external websites to pass.

Dr. Desormeaux is a very harsh grader who provides confusing assignments that will result in you getting C level grades on assignments that you spend hours upon hours on. She is not supportive of students and will dodge questions asked to her about assignments. She instead will tell you to read the instructions provided. Only take her if necessary.

The e-book does all the grading/teaching for her, except for a 2-week project, which she expects you to finish while reading 2-4 chapters and finishing 3-6 hours of homework per week. I reached out several times when the book was confusing. Her response was to "read the book again or get a tutor." Why get a tutor when I paid a teacher to teach?

A teacher who doesnt teach. Relies on Cengage software. Emailed many times about struggles with projects. Only reply was call the software company, everything good on her end. When called, her excuse was "no one taught you to walk" but actually someone definitely held your hand/helped you get back up which she does none of. no weekend availability.

AVOID THIS PROFESSOR!! This professors is just awful. My first time rating a professor. There are 3 chapters/week and it takes around 6-7 hours to get through the electronic material. Make sure you don't run into ANY technical issues with McGraw Connect, as she will not grant any grace! I have a lot more to say, but ran out of room.

Professor gives little time for tests and lot of tricky questions to answer. Even if your familiar with the material you'll end up needing more time to take apart the problem. At the end time's up and have unanswered questions. For homework you'll only get one chance to check answers so have to make sure there good before you use your only chance.

guys don't ever take her, she does not help at all, she is not a bad person, but she does not teach you anything and just expects you to get tutoring, her final project was super hard and I couldn't get any guidance from her, I am telling, run

Avoid this professor at all costs. Not helpful and extremely rude. After being in the ICU numerous times during the semester, I kept open communication with professor and explained my situation. Many doctors notes, emails, and phone calls with the professor later only then was I able to submit missing work.

Professor is a poor communicator, so do not rely on them for question guidance and feedback. Course is very difficult and those who take it would benefit from additional tutoring if available.
