Truly a middle of the road teacher. She gets the material across easily and doesnt make it challenging. Some weird assignments and criteria but doable. Easier class I've had.
Easy assignments and no tests just quizzes all straightforward just lots of reading.
Asynchronistic course but locked later modules. Only gave lectures and assignment feedback for half of the semester. PPT notes were poorly written with grammatical errors. Difficult grader for how little work she seemingly put in and how simple the concepts were for this elective. Treated a grad course like an undergrad. Power trip.
This professor was clear on expectations and assignments. If you follow the guidelines and rubric you should be good.
It was actually MKTG 4000 for advertising, but the class was very informational and I was expecting it to be boring but it was nice. It was nice to be creative whilst also learning a lot about advertising. The discussion boards are nice to be able to see how other people retained and learned things differently and see different perspectives.
This professor was wonderful at communication. She let everyone know she was having a baby during the summer semester, but she still graded promptly and communicated that she may be slower to respond to emails, messages, etc. Overall, this course was organized and easy to take for a quick 8-week lecture.
Sarah was excellent a communication even when having a baby. She was always willing to talk to students about any questions they had about the class or in the real world. The assignments were fairly easy to complete in a quick summer semester but were still super fun and engaging. She also had a few assignments that you could add to your portfolio.
I took MKTG 4000 (did not give me the option to pick MKTG 400 in the beginning) with Professor Erickson as an online course and she was awesome. Very clear with assignments. She is a good communicator and grades your assignments with thoughtful feedback. I will take her again if the opportunity presents itself for any future Marketing courses.
Erickson is great. She's recently finished grad school so lots of fresh insight into the marketing industry. She was happy to meet me for office hours and give me career advice. The only "downside" is the course was too easy. This worked out for me because I have a full-time job but I could've benefited from having more assignments to learn from.
I took their MKTG 4000 (Advertising) Class online. Really cool teacher, very up-front with everything including things that would effect student's life (ex. grading), and made sure that the students felt welcomed. the work wasn't hard, the material is in the book and the assignments are an extension of the chapter readings.
I took MKTG 4000 with Sarah Erickson. She is an amazing professor. I would definitely recommend other students to take her class.
Good class that wasn't too demanding. Discussions and some smaller assignments every week but not too challenging. A little slow with grading but overall a good class that you will learn what you need to learn without it being too demanding.
Professor Erickson is awesome! I enjoyed the class and learned a lot! I do wish there was more opportunity for late assignments, bc I work so much.
Professor Erickson is passionate about this field of work and cares about your perspective. Assignments and tests are based more on your ability to apply knowledge rather than memorization. Assignments also allow you to explore your marketing role preferences instead of a standard one size fits all. Coursework is extremely manageable but do it.
Sarah was an amazing professor. Her lectures were clear and concise and the class was easy to follow. Grading was fair and not too hard. She was always willing to listen and work with her students to meet their needs.
MKTG 4000 was a great class, and I learned a lot about Advertising that can be applied to my degree. I only have great things to say about the professor herself, she is reasonable with the workload and gives great feedback on assignments.
Professor Erickson conducts this course very well. While I would have enjoyed a little more interaction with the professor, she did just have a baby during our summer semester (exciting!) so I understand. Other than that, the course pushes students to be creative and it is clear professor Erickson, values creativity!
She is a great professor, coursework is spread out evenly throughout the semester. Super fun for the most part, I loved being able to get creative making advertisements!
This class was a good summer class to take; good pacing, wasn't overwhelming. I highly recommend. Ratemyprofessors didn't have the MKTG 4000 class as a option to select when making this review, so this review is for the MKTG 4000 Advertising.
Sara is a great instructor in the summer course. She allowed us to really have a clear criteria & easy due dates. She understood other students who in the summer they had other curricular activities. Sarah is definitely a genuine instructor who is willing to help out in anyway and let us know if any concerns comes up within grading.
I loved talking Sarah as a professor at the university of Colorado Denver. She had a clear syllabus and it was easy to follow along in class. Readying the chapter was help to follow along with the class to answer question and do the essay question. Overall you should really take her class!
Professor Erickson is awesome! I learned a lot also I liked how the class is online, so I can work full time and continue classes.
A good instructor works good on timelines and good communication.
The professor forked hard on adjusting a 16 week course into an 8 week course, somehow, the course is still massive for 8 week courses. Be prepared to read and write. The professor is open-minded to all discussions and will respond to questions through email.
This class is very good and paced well. Sarah really wants you to learn and she provides a lot of external tools for learning. Her reviews here are well deserved
This course has a very limited number of assignments, but the assignments require quite a bit of work - this is definitely not a course where you can procrastinate the work. She is very understanding and good at responding to messages in a timely manner.
She is wonderful. Class is not difficult, normal amount of work. No exams (just quizzes)!
This professor was very kind and had an easy class. I very much liked this class, everything is by week(locked) so you cant do everything back to back(which I would've done), but overall this is defiantly one of the better professors. If you need to take this class, take it with this professor.
This is an great 8-week course. Fun topic and doable work per module; I feel like I'm learning. Unlike prior classes, this one didn't overwhelm me. She has us do the assignments as a PowerPoint instead of a paper, which is more enjoyable. Her lectures are also pretty short. She is supportive and understanding. This is one of my favorite courses!
16-week online course that was very straight to the point. I took this class during an 18-credit hour semester and found comfort that it was a class that I could rely on to be easy to keep up with. Professor Erickson has an outstanding teaching style and cares for her students!
Sarah is very responsive and caring. Very few of my online classes have had video-recorded lectures. I liked that Sarah provided video-recorded lectures and videos explaining the assignments. The materials were outdated for this course, but I'm sure Sarah will update them and refine the course to make it more her own the more she teaches it.
She is good at the subject she is teaching. She is the kind of teacher who can understand your fears. Take the class. You will not regret it.
She is such a great professor! The course is very well organized and the material is easy to understand.
Sarah obviously cares a lot about her students. This is really encouraging as a student. She expects her students to provide very high quality work and dive deep into the material. I think it would feel a lot less stressful if I didn't have so many lengthy assignments throughout the semester on top of a quiz every single week.
Her class is laid out well and is very predictable each week. You will have to read and spend a good amount of time working on the assignments each week, but it is worth the time investment. The coursework is relevant and meaningful and is not a waste of time. Her lectures are really short and she explains the material really well.
Professor Erickson clearly lays out the coursework, assignments and grading metrics. This course is a lot of work but I appreciate how upfront and caring Sarah is. The assignments are not necessarily hard, but they are very involved/take a lot of time. It is a LOT of material to get through in 8 weeks but is doable.
This course was well-organized and easy to follow. It's clear that Sarah cares about the well-being of her students and wants them to succeed. Her lectures are straightforward, and I liked that there were assigned readings, and that the textbook was optional. I also appreciated that there were no group projects. Overall, great course/instructor!
She is an amazing lecturer. Her lectures are easy to understand and practical enough to relate with. Her assignments are very practical and thus builds a good real life experience with the principles learnt. She is respectful and very responsive when you reach out to her.
Professor Erickson is an all-around fantastic professor. She is very caring of her students and very responsive to their needs and questions. She posts a lecture every week which is super helpful in completing the assignments. She is also a fair grader and provides good feedback. Overall, take this class with Sarah, you will get a lot out of it!
The professor really cares about the subject but there is an absolutely ridiculous amount of work. It is repetitive and unnecessary.
Honestly, Professor Erickson was an outstanding professor and I hope I have her again. Some people in our class felt like the workload was too much, but it wasn't that bad. It's an 8-week graduate-level course. Of course it's going to be more work. Everything was really straightforward, simply follow the directions/rubrics and put in the work.
Professor Erickson was an amazing professor. Homework is due every other week on Sunday. She gives you plenty of time to do all of your assignments. She is always there if you need something. Would recommend taking her.
Professor Erickson is awesome! There were bi-weekly quizzes, assignments, and discussions. If you go through the material she posts, you will do fine! She was so sweet and always tried to make the class personable even though it was online.
She is passionate about her teaching and fully supports the students with proper feedback. Very organized and responsive, and accessible anytime. She guides us with many resources beyond the textbook, and her lectures are amazing.
S. Erickson is a very solid instructor in the UC Denver MKTG grad program. She clearly states her expectations and gives feedback to ensure students understand what is expected for each assignment. Course instructions are clear and error-free. She clearly enjoys branding and marketing in general and it shows in her lectures and interactions.
Sarah was great! She really cares about the class and provides content on a clear matter. The supplemental articles she provides are AMAZING! Also, she doesn't require a textbook, which is awesome. I would recommend her!
Very solid class with a reasonable amount of work. My favorite part of the class was that Professor Erickson understood that online courses should come with adjustments (like releasing modules early for us to work ahead, or providing sample assignments). The material was also interesting and felt relevant/updated. Overall a very good course!
Honestly, if you failed the class it's because you slacked or didn't bother to get help. This class uses minimal work with clear lectures. The professor responds back quickly and is quick to grade things - I'm talking about graded the morning after it was submitted.
This professor is easy to learn from as she supplies thorough powerpoint slides and lectures alongside the slides that make learning more interesting for online students. Assignments are challenging and require you to think creatively and critically but you will learn a lot from them. Supplemental articles are informative and enjoyable.
Professor Erickson acknowledges that this is an eight week course filled with a ton of material. She has been there to support each student, if needed, throughout the full duration of the course. Be prepared to spend at least 10 hours a week on this course.
Sarah was the best professor I have had in this program so far. Her grading is fair (if not a bit easy) and her feedback was helpful. She was always accessible and is clearly passionate about the field and sharing her knowledge. I was thrilled to see I have another class with her next semester.
I loved taking this class with professor Erickson, she was clear on her grading and transparent about what she expected from us. We have bi-weekly discussions, quizzes and homework which is really manageable and felt like it was the right amount of work for a 3000 level course.
Sarah is a great and engaging Professor. Her curriculum is fully comprehendable and applicable. The course layout is easy to follow and understand.
Professor Erickson's class appeared easy to start, but content-wise it is a lot! However, it is presented in a fun way and she is very clear with grading expectations so I knew how in depth I needed to go. I would definitely take future courses from her!
Sarah is a great professor, her grading is very clear and the coursework is easy to understand and follow. Her lectures are very helpful.
MKTG 6070: Assignments are due every other week & strict APA style. There is a discussion board & weekly quizzes. The quizzes have no time limit there are about 5 questions per quiz mixed with short answers & multiple choice Professor Erickson gives a fair amount of work and she communicates with the class about our dates, and expectations.
Great content and lectures and great real world examples through out the course! Be ready for lots of ready.
This is a great Professor to take Marketing with. She mostly offers work every two weeks. Lectures are ver engaging and easy quizzes. Also, assigns interesting and fun projects.
I think all online classes offer their own complications and headaches - it's much harder to figure out exactly what your final work should look like, but with this class, I have enjoyed that it has been mostly solo work, and does not require a ton of group meetings. Good feedback and responds to messages in a timely manner.
Communicates a lot and is helpful
Sarah was a great instructor and I felt I learned a lot from her. She was caring and understood how hectic an 8 week class is and enjoyed how she checked in with us to make sure we were ok. Class was online but she provided video lectures to help tie ideas together and was available if you needed help or had questions. Great online experience
I really loved this course! Professor Erickson provides lecture videos, as well as readings, that are very informative and helpful. There are discussions, quizzes, and assignments. The structure of the course is great and the assignments are very creative and quite fun to do! Highly recommend
Great online class! Average amount of work & great prof. Would def recommend taking Sarah Erickson for every class you can!
Professor was manageable for an online class! Very responsive and cares for students. Will do anything to help students out. Highly recommend.
Sarah was thorough in her lectures and her tests were not timed which was super helpful as it helped me learn and really understand the materials of the class--not just having to regurgitate the information. It was a really interesting class and I learned a lot!
Sarah Erickson is a clear and structured instructor. She will provide you with all of the information up front. You are required to stay on top of deadlines, because you will know when everything is due at the beginning of the course. However, she is also understanding in that life gets in the way and is always ready to help out when needed.
Sarah is a great teacher. She takes time to breakdown the content very well and gives great readings to supplement and apply my learnings
Professor Erickson is a great instructor. This is the second course I have taken with her, and I would highly recommend taking her classes. The course is laid out in a very logical and consistent manner. It is super easy to follow the course modules. The course work is relevant, and all of the assignments are easy to understand.
Sarah gives very clear lectures and is passionate about the topic. Truthfully, I didn't see a need to purchase the textbook for this course and did fine without one. The work is based on application rather than regurgitating information. Assignments clearly state what is expected. Sarah responds quickly if you have questions though.
Her lectures are detailed enough that you don't necessarily need the textbook, but it's nice to have in case you want more information. Quizzes are straight forward, some multiple choice and short answers. Grammar and APA style format is huge for assignments, majority of my deducted points were from those errors rather than the content.
Sarah is an amazing instructor. A professor who has her students' best interest at heart, she is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure that we get the most out of her class. She is exceptional at giving feedback, which is what I most love about her!
Professor Erickson's classes will keep you busy, but the workload is manageable if you manage your time. She provides a lot of projects where you "put into action" the topics that you are learning, which is a great way for an adult learner to cement the learning. She's very accessible outside class, and her grading criteria are clear.
Sarah is a phenomenal professor! I wish all professors could be like her. She is extremely clear with her grading and expectations, gives a manageable yet flexible amount of work, and *shocking* but you actually learn a ton when you're not being overworked! Easily the best professor I've had in the program.
Sarah is amazing! I felt like she really cared about the topic and our learning in class. She helped bring the information to life with examples, assigned work that focused on applying information, and avoided unnecessary busy work!
Sarah does a great job highlighting key content in her lectures and providing real world examples that make comprehension of the topics easier than some of the text's examples. She has clear grading criteria on assignments and provides feedback quickly, yet it's clear she's taken the time to review and provide personal notes. Definitely recommend!
Professor Erickson is a great professor. One who actually cares about the learning and development of her students. She also is very eager to help answer any questions her students have. Her lectures are super helpful and help to make the readings more digestible. This class has an average amount of work (if you stay on top of it).
Professor Erickson is amazing! She is always available and willing to work with you if you need it. Her lectures are pretty straightforward and easy to follow. Homework, quizzes, and group projects are easy as well.
Absolutely love Sarah! She is so understanding and provides different methods of learning so you can pick what works best for you. She is mindful that most of her students are adults with full time jobs, she provides clear instructions and is passionate about the subject which really translates to her teaching. 100% recommend!
Sarah knew about the topic at hand and provided good complementary articles and videos. However, when my team asked her a question, her feedback was cold and harsh. I did not have many more opportunities to check if this was a one timer or something common on her personality. Never the less, It dishearten me from asking more questions.
Professor Erickson was great! I thoroughly enjoyed her class and she provides you a ton of material that is valuable information for any marketing major. The one thing to be prepared for are the two group projects - I'd say that was the only downside to the class. Typically, one is manageable, but the two are required and are back to back.
I appreciate Sarah's enthusiasm and energy throughout the course. Her lectures are engaging and interactive, which always encourages discussion. Also, her feedbacks on the assignments are thorough and constructive. I will highly recommend it to other students.
I really enjoyed this course! There were lecture videos, readings, quizzes, discussions, individual projects, and group projects. The assignments and discussions are pretty interesting and fun to complete. I really like the structure of this course and Professor Erickson is very caring and nice. I recommend this course!
This course is very interesting and Professor Erickson does a great job of packing a lot of information into the 8 week course. Assignments are clearly explained and effectively require student to apply information learned in the modules. Work load is reasonable for a graduate level course.
I really enjoyed the way each week's modules were a direct guide to the quiz questions. Format of assignments and the course is laid out very well. The no time limit on quizzes is super appreciated. The module videos summarizing the important and most relevant aspects of the chapters is much more enjoyable than just reading the textbook. 10/10
Professor Erickson is very understanding and willing to help students when they have problems with groups or homework.
The class was actually MKTG 4050....Amazing instructor. There is a large group project but you're given the information for it at the beginning of the semester so there is plenty of time. Working in groups can be difficult but you're able to vote members out if need be.
Prof Erickson really understands marketing and really gave me a new perspective on the topic. She has a very unbiased, objective way of thinking that makes class discussions fair and open-minded.
Overall a very standard online course to take. Workload is reasonable. The modules are set up over a span of two weeks which is nice. Bi-weekly group projects for this course. This course may be stressful if you are paired into a bad group.
You should take this class to get to know the professor better because it is one of the best classes I had.
Professor Erickson (Sarah), is awesome and really cares for her students. I would recommend taking any class with her. Be aware that there are weekly group assignments that are sometimes difficult to complete due to not being able to get ahold of your group mates.
Great professor that cares about her students and how much they learn. Laid back but punctual, this professor expects on time work but the work is easy to understand and helps you learn. Make sure to do discussions on time. Would recommend Professor Erickson to a friend.
Great Professor to take a course with. Kind, accommodating, and there for her students. I would definitely take another course with this professor.
While there is a lot of reading in the class, the readings are not difficult and the work that is done is not difficult work. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.
Professor Erickson enthusiastically approached her teaching, delivering thorough and engaging explanations. Despite the online format, she was conscious of our time. Her concise recorded lectures were adeptly structured, ensuring all essential topics were covered. The weekly workload was manageable.
Good class, although maybe not incredibly relevant for some MBA students (although it is required by the MBA program at UCD. I understand that this is not the Professor's fault, it is the university's.). Professor Erickson is engaging and a good lecturer.
Willing to help students achieve their goals for class.always available and willing to help.
Really fun class and the lectures make it easy to comprehend the material.
My second time taking a class with this professor. Overall, very good. Class is structured in favor of the students. I'm not a huge fan of group projects in general, but I don't think there's any way to avoid that when getting a degree in business at this school.
I would take the class again.
She takes a bit to grade assignments, seeing "missing" for group projects make me a bit nervous. She picks out your groups, as long as you participate, it's hard to fail the class.
clear guidelines that outline each module lecture and supplemental PowerPoints thought-provoking articles, relevant topics, discussions, and projects digital textbook option (rented it) gave me guidance, a great outline, and informative feedback in projects very easy to understand, academic related to marketing, made me be more strategic
Great class - very well organized and easy to follow on Canvas. Always knew what was expected of me.
She is a tough grader, but she encourages insightful learning and is very helpful to improve your knowledge. One of the tougher professors I have had at CU Denver in a good challenging way.
She is awesome! Definitely wants students to succeed and sets up expectations clearly.
Easy class, great teacher. Not much reading involved, got an A and did minimal effort. There are a couple group assignments and have to record 2 videos.
Very collaborative with other classmates which can be challenging in an online course.
Great professor! She clearly wants students to succeed and lets you know exactly what you need to do to have success in her course.
9/10. I felt that sometimes there was a lot of work to be done but overall manageable. Class content was also interesting.
Professor Erickson is great - very kind, understanding, and fair. The workload is manageable, and she's always willing to help. I'd recommend this class, and using unstuckstudy for study prep was a big help.
Sarah is a great teacher. Her lectures are easy to follow and her projects are achievable. She's a very fair grader. Would take her for every course if I could!
I have taken two classes from this prof, and they have been in my top five for my MS Marketing program. Great professor who provides relevant and constructive feedback. Her classes are group project-heavy, so be aware. If you are interested/focused on CDP of neuromarketing, her classes are the way to go! Hard work is rewarded; slacking is not!
Sarah was great, she responded when I reached out for questions on assignments. Her video lectures were helpful, although they were a general overview since it was an 8-week program. There will be LOTS of group work, so hope you have a good team. She also will not give 100% on assignments but for the most part everything was easy.
Sarah is an excellent instructor. I enjoyed her online lectures and required readings. The course involves a significant amount of group work, which demands high discipline and effective communication with peers to stay on track. Sarah is also fair in her grading, and it's clear that putting in the effort is essential to earning a good grade.
Double-check to see if you're getting a break per the academic calendar if you have her.
This is my first marketing course even though I am a finance student. I had a positive learning experience from professor Erickson. I would definitely take her class again if she teaches other courses.
Engaging and energetic. She has good lectures at the perfect length which are clear and easy to understand. Outside readings are good and help digest the material and prep you for discussions and quizzes.
This class was pretty easy as long as you do the readings and turn everything in on time. The professor is also nice but not the best at responding to emails, so if you have a question, it's better to ask earlier in the week rather than wait.
I honestly had fun taking her class. I learned so much through her lectures. Yes, she is very particular with how she wants her homework to be done but once you get a hang of it, you'll do amazing.
Any time I see a class is offered by Professor Erickson I take it. She makes instructions clear, has an organized layout to canvas, and responds quickly to emails. I have taken 2 classes with Professor Erickson so far and I would take all my classes with her if I could.
Sarah is a great professor! This was the second class of hers that I took, and I really enjoyed having her as a teacher both times. I've learned a lot, and the way she teaches the material is easy to understand. She's also very open to feedback - during my class, she lengthened the quiz time because people didn't have long enough.
Great professor, you can tell they really care about their students and have understanding. There are a good amount of assignments due per week including a quiz so make sure to stay on top of that or else you can feel behind/overwhelmed with the amount of work on top of other courses. Overall, she is a one of the most leniant professors I had.
I enjoyed having professor Erickson as my teacher. The reviews on here definitely aligned. The course was very easy to navigate. She is very well organized in both her class design but making sure students are able to do things efficiently and effectively. I would take her again in the future and recommend anyone who is thinking about it!
Professor Erickson's class has been very informative and interesting. I did find some of the reading material to be lengthy and not easily digestible. Also, projects pulled in elements outside of the course material, which was a challenge at times. That said, I found Professor Erickson to be available for questions & quick to respond to concerns.
Great professor, most homework is done with a group so as long as you have a good group the homework is easy to complete. The class has assignments due every other week so it gives you time to study the materials without feeling overwhelmed. Assignments lock after due date so you have to stay on track.
Professor Erickson is very organized and clear with expectations. Her grading criteria are easy to understand, and she gives helpful feedback on assignments. Group projects were a big part of the class, but they helped me learn the material well. Overall, she is supportive and makes the class manageable.
Professor Erickson very knowledgable in the subjects she teaches. I've had two classes with her. They are a lot of work but you'll learn a ton in a short amount of time. She's quick to respond and really wants to make sure you understand the material.
Professor was amazing, the online class was well structured and you can tell what she wants you to do from the organization. Assignments aren't hard but be prepared to do some video recording of yourself, and have good communications with your assigned group for the whole semester. She's awesome and you would probably like her too.
