She makes the class really easy. As long as you do your homework you will be ok. She is a good prof but doesn't put up with lazy people.
The professor was on her first year as such when I took her and it really showed in her extreme condescension to her adult students, complete with 'binder checks.' Not understanding of financial or scheduling problems. She really made the class torturous, but the material was easy enough.
She goes extremely slow when instructing how to do steps which helps a lot of people. She does binder checks which is an easy 100 if you keep all your notes in class and you do the showed work for the online portion. Everything is fairly easy, she will help you if needed just don't be lazy, this class is really easy.
She's a great professor! She explains the problems very well during class. She's very approachable, so you can ask her questions anytime. She does give regular homework & quizzes, but I would definitely recommend taking her! She also allows a notecard on exams & also reviews the day before. EXCELLENT PROFESSOR!
Good teacher but not very organized. She is very helpful and will help you pass. She does allow a notecard on exams.
Very helpful. She makes Trig easy to follow. Don't hesitate to ask your question in class she's always happy to answer it and give clear answers. She does give a lot of homework but as long with quizzes they help you keep up with the work. She gives a lot of extra points on her exams.
The worst professor at Sam Houston. She talks over herself and chooses what to mention and what not to mention. Her quizzes are ridiculous. She starts class early and ends whenever she chooses. I strongly advice you to take this class online at HCC. It will be easier and less stressful. The only good thing is you don't need to buy a book.
If you struggle with math, take her. The class was so incredibly easy. I am terrible at math and I just finished the course with an A. Go to class or else you won't have the notes (which are fill in the blank.) It gets boring, but that's because she goes over everything so thoroughly. If you don't make an A, then you put in NO effort. TAKE HER!!!
She likes to go through everything step by step. Her notes are fill in the blank and test are almost straight from them. As long as you go to class and do your homework, as well as the journals, it will be an easy A.
Take this class. She is easy and explains everything really good. Only reason i got a B was because i didn't go to class for 2 weeks since it was 8am
She asks questions when teaching a new chapter instead of just teaching you the material. Messes up on problems constantly(how can she teach me if she doesn't know how to do it, right?) I have honestly not learned anything in her class.
Her class is super easy. She explains everything in a very helpful way. The only thing I didn't like was the requirement of working in groups. She does have a really irritating voice to listen to but all in all, this class is super easy.
She goes through the material fast and the examples she would provide had nothing to do with the test problems. She wants step by step on how you got the answer or she'll take points off, which was frustrating.
If you do your homework, then you'll be fine. Go to class because she takes attendance. She treats you like a child and explains things very weird and confusing. The tests are confusing, but if you do your homework and evaluations then you should be fine.
expects a lot but was really helpful when I went to her office
At first I did not like the class, I thought that she spoke to the college class like we were in middleschool. However, I started to go to her office after class and she was extremely helpful and spent a large amount of time helping me on several occasions. The class moves fast, and on test you need to show your work but she is a GREAT teacher.
Professor Fritsch is wonderful! Would definitely take her again for 1314. I am not good at math at all but going into her office if I had a question really helped me! She lets you use a note card on every test which is extremely helpful. Is a little quirky but she's a very sweet and helpful professor!
If math isn't your thing, take Fritsch. She understands that a lot of kids aren't really interested in taking math so she makes it pretty easy. Didn't see numbers until half way through the course. Learned a lot of new stuff. Makes her own workbook with notes, homework, and reviews. If you miss a day, you might miss some important notes.
At first I thought I wasn't going to enjoy this class because of the way she talks but eventually I got over it. Easy A if you come to class on time everyday, do the homework and you should do well on the test. You don't need to buy a textbook , she have her own workbook. Oh yeah & NO FINAL :)
Probably the most frustrating teacher I have ever had. She treats you like a child and explains things confusingly. Her tests are nothing like the example problems or homework problems and designed to trip you up. If you can, find a different professor. The only good thing she does is drop your 4 lowest quiz grades. (Not saying much, theres 2day)
I am tempted to write negative about her, but honestly, shes not the worst. She treats us like kids. She gives homework every lecture. Her tests are vague and unlike the classroom. Its essential that you attend class otherwise you're screwed. I'd try to avoid her if possible, hoping there is someone better. Shes not bad, but shes not the best.
She doesn't use the book, which is good. However, she uses a work book of her own making, which is not so good. She speaks to you as if you are a child. Also doesn't let you write on your test. Your MATH test?? Probably most important test to write on.. and when I asked for an exemption bc it hurt my grade, I got an extremely rude answer.
She does dumb down a lot of the material, but it makes it so easy to learn. You have homework about once a week, but it's easy and from the notes and there is an option final. Also, she drops your lowest homework grade. I wouldn't recommend skipping though. She's a nice person and really does all she can for you to do well.
If math isn't your strong point, I suggest taking her. She is very clear on her lectures, and when test days come if you spent time reviewing lectures and did the homework you will get an easy A. She does take attendance, so if you want the points associated with that you should go, plus the lectures are very informative.
Do not take her unless you have to. She treats the students like they are in elementary school. She should not be teaching, especially at the college level. The class work is very simple but she tries to make it sound like it is the hardest thing ever. She is disrespectful to her students, talks down to everyone and thinks she is the funniest. No.
Math is not my subject, like most of you all. Sarah fritsch does not explain things clearly or clarify. A syllabus is given but it is hard to understand. Goodluck!
There's about two homework assignments per week which are really easy. You don't need the text book at all, but she has you print out like 1,000 pages of her own workbook she created. The tests are ok if you study really hard. She's really organized and has a course schedule she strictly follows so you'll always know what you're doing in class.
Fritsch is clear and concise and if you review the notes you'll be fine. However, she is very condescending and speaks to students like they are children. If you pay attention and use her notes you'll pass no problem, but it can be frustrating to listen to her talk.
Ms. Fritsch is a decent instructor in my opinion. She does her very best to make things simple and concise for her students. However, listening to her talk is a bit irritating as someone mentioned below. Lots of homework and quizzes but they aren't terrible, super easy. Her class is very easy. I would def take again if she wasn't so irritating.
Ms. Fritsch is a awesome teacher. she does tend to have a sarcastic tone to her class but nothing you wont ever get over, no textbook needed, quiz due almost every class session. But its nothing to hard to handle, I saw it as extra points! If you take her MEMORIZE THE VOCAB...
I was in elementary functions, I needed this class as a prerequisite for calculus, the material is kind of easy, enough to where I could get all the answers right on a quiz, every friday, but she grades way to harshly and I would fail the quiz with all the correct answers... and the homework... don't get me started on that grading scale...
It really is easy to make an A with Fritsch, BUT really hard to focus in her class because she speaks to the class like children, and she does dumb down the information. I wouldn't take her again simply because of the way she teaches. If you are on your phone, she will mark you absent, and you only get 3 unexcused absences.
She wants things done her way. How you do things will be totally different from hers, and she will take points away on quizzes and test if not done.
Clear&concise. Super easy. Voice might be a bit irritating. "Dumb downs" lectures- really just wants to make sure everyone understands. Kind of picky when grading-just do what she says you'll get an A. Lots of homework, but its super easy. Memorize vocab for bonus points! Anyone who doesn't get B or higher probably isnt trying very hard.
DO NOT TAKE HER. I just dropped her course. She is unfair, her grading is unclear, she teaches at an elementary level, she will waste your time. Expect an average of 50 problems for homework every class. She makes a simple concept seem so complicated. She thinks her class is the only thing we're taking, when it's not even a required course.
Ms. Fritsch is a great professor, and she clearly knows a lot about math! however, you will have to work for your grade. There is tons of homework, but it benefits you in the end because she bases the tests off of the easy/medium questions on the assignments. She'll never ask you the hardest questions on the homework in a testing environment.
Ms. Fritsch means well but lectures to the class like everyone is a child, she would be better off teaching elementary students. Her grading is a little over the top and don't plan on missing a class or getting out early ever. Instructions are unclear on tests sometimes. Don't take trig at sam
Calculus is a hard subject in general but she tries to simplify it as much as she can. She gives 50-80 problems a week due the next week for homework but it helps a lot on the test. 75% of your grade comes from exams and the other 25% from quizzes and homework. If you go to her office, and the math center for help there is no way you can fail.
Fristch is a good professor. Calculus is hard in general, but, she definitely simplifies everything perfectly. I made an A in the class because I went to her office for help. The only thing I didn't like was being assigned SO MUCH HOMEWORK. 80ish problems a week and sometimes 1 problem takes up an entire page.. make sure you have plenty of paper..
Homework due every week (at least 50 questions); similar questions will be on the test. Homework questions are in the textbook, so you will needed one (you can find the it for free online). If you don't understand something, go to her office hours. She explains how to do problems step by step very well. Highest test grade will replace lowest one.
I would recommend her to anyone taking a math class! Sometimes I wouldn't fully understand the lectures, but would once I worked through the homework the notes and examples covered during lectures were lifesavers. Yes, the homework is long, but when you're done you should have a good grasp of the concepts from the repetition.
She means well, but shes not a good teacher. She explains things at an elementary level and gets off topic when explaining things in the lectures. She also has anger issues, if someone asks her something she doesnt like shes catch an attitude with you quick. Shes gets flustered so easily especially if you have your phones out.
Do not take her class! She varies off-topic or starts to talk about other stuff that is somehow supposed to relate to the lecture but really does not. She also talks to students like we are children. She is really strict about cell phones and will stop the entire class to point you out if your phone is simply on your desk.
She is a nice lady and is understanding to a point she is very adamant about starting on time and leaving on time. She is always available during her office hours. She is a good teacher and is always willing to explain something to you in more detail if you ask. All I have to say is DO YOUR HOMEWORK or you will fail.
She's alright. Explains things in an elementary way, which is beneficial to some people. Don't miss class if you're not good at math. Went to office hours a couple times and she's not very good at explaining material or helping you understand. She means well but her teaching style wasn't right for me. She wants work shown a certain way(her way)
Mrs. Fritsch is amazing at explaining things. She explains every step of the math problems and why that step is needed. Shes organized and really cares about her students. If she doesn't think the students are ready for the test then she will spend another day working on the material. She gives out homework, yes but you need it for practice.
Doesnt try to help out her students at all. Thinks her way is the only way. Expects us to easily comprehend the material when she makes us learn most of it ourselves.
She treats the class like we're in elementary. She will stop class just to talk to a student who is on their phone. She is a stickler when it comes to time. She will start class right at the time it's supposed to start, and if you enter one or two minutes late, she will mark you tardy. If you typically struggle in math, I would not recommend her.
She is an overall really good person but the style of her teaching was not for me. I got her as a teacher because the professor I had actually chosen had to go on maternity leave & she was a sub for the semester for MATH 1410... I honestly had to re teach myself everything & I don't know if ill pass the class now....
I thought she was nice as a person, but I did not like her as a professor. I would not take her if you are taking a heavy load of hours because she gives a ton of hw. I would not take her word on a lot of things, she constantly changes her mind on exam dates and hw due dates. She treats the class like little kids and its annoying. Do not recommend
She takes off points for little things! She gives SO much homework, that sometimes even she couldnt grade it for correctness. Bc we did not use the textbook I couldnt teach myself or review what confused me in class/on the hw . The math lab wasnt that helpful and I had class during her office hours. Ive gotten As in all my math classes b4this
She really knows her stuff. Very particular about how problems are worked, though. She does give a lot of homework BUT it is so helpful. No test reviews. Pre-Lessons with a quiz. Bonus pop quizzes. BIGGEST THING: you get a participation grade so do not skip and be engaged in class! She also prints the textbook for you- so you save money!!!
Passable if you go to class, there is a lot of homework to be done. She takes no late homework and gives you a 0 for them. Even in the case of an emergency or illness. The homework pretty much covers what is on the test, but some units have absurd amounts of homework. She is not funny and her examples on how some things work tend to be bad.
I learn at a slow pace when it comes to math & if you are like me then this is the professor for you, she basically dumbs down the material to make is very easy to understand. She talks to the class like middle schoolers so it doesn't feel like a college course, but I like the way she teaches. She is very nice but can get snippy sometimes.
She teaches really slow which is good for someone who hates math but if you skip class you'll be lost and there's weekly homework.
Professor Fritsch is all over the place and she gives a lot of homework which can be very difficult when having a heavy course load. Shes caring but whenever you have a family emergency or anything she doesnt care its our responsibility. DONT BUY THE TEXT BOOK SHE MAKES YOU PURCHASE MINDTAP AND TOPHAT!
Her math 1332 class is ridiculous. We havent done a SINGLE assignment with any math at all, just grammar sentences. I took this class because Im good at math, not english. She makes you do all the work on blackboard, but she doesnt even put the right answers on the key. And when you ask for help she refuses to give you any. Dont take her class
She has way too much homework that is impossible to finish within the due dates. Your work must be shown precisely and neatly and EXACTLY the way that she has shown or it will be counted wrong. Her grading is all over the place which makes it nearly impossible to pass. She rarely answers emails. Would not recommend for freshman students.
Has a horrible grading system. If you do the homework, come to class, and study you still wont pass if you don't do the work her way. Only way to pick up grade is to retest on her assessments. Overall, bad experience in her class.
Don't bother asking questions, she will explain something else and move on to the next thing. She gets irritated easily. Don't even think about trying to use any sort of technology in the class, she WILL call you out. BRING NOTES TO CLASS! Notes are on paper, all 50 pages of it.
Great professor! She explains things clearly and cares about her students grades. No textbook or calculator needed, and she goes over the notes with us in class.
She gives A LOT of homework that is way more difficult than the examples she does in class. You have to enter the homework answers into a separate website that is always wrong, she always has to correct it. She can be very rude. For example, I direct messaged her on GroupMe for help and she left me on read. This happened twice! I do not recommend.
she is very helpful and will go over things to make sure you understand completely! she grades everything though so missing assignments is not the best idea, other that that, she is a wonderful professor. I took her for basic college math!
she literally doesn't care don't take her
I ha to retake this class not only that when I tried to talk to he about my grade she literally didn't care if your a freshmen make it easier on yourself and don't take her. she is very careless, doesn't respond to emails, and when I retook the class I made a better grade then when she was m professor. DO NOT PICK HER
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Mrs. Fritsch is the worst math teacher I have ever had in my life. She is easy to reach outside of class time but will give the vaguest answers to questions. She will give you hours of videos to watch and hours of homework to do. Worst class ever. SAY GOODBYE TO FUN! Do not put yourself through what I had to go through!
The class is set up to where if you do the work, you will pass the class with flying colors, so no test reviews. The only issue I have is that there is ALOT of work. Each week a module is due that has videos notes with knowledge checks, you have to turn in those AND complete practice problems. Professor is really nice and understanding.
She doesnt explain things twice. if you ask a question and you still dont get what youre doing and keep asking for help she will catch attitude and say its in the video. if you ask how is it this and not this she will hardly respond. her homework adds up to at least double the class time, probably more. just... dont take her.
at the beginning of the semester she created a groupme for her class so it would be easy to reach her and as the semester went by and the material became more difficult, the students asked more questions and the professor would respond less and less.
Gives homework assignments that are way too time consuming, doesnt allow calculators to be used on exams (even though some assignments require one) & is horrible with communication. When students ask a question, she just reiterates her initial response with attitude. The work can be very confusing and overall this course is a piece of work
Worst Math teacher I've ever had. Never helped when I needed. She relies on the Internet wayyyyy to much for homework.. And she wont let us use Calculators on the test when needed. DO NOT TAKE.
Horrible professor. I took Plane Trig with her and i regret it. First, her grading scale, it is 40% daily grade and 60% test grade. I had a 98% for the daily grade and a 63% for the test grade and ended up with a C+ in her class. She is a tough grader and gives so much homework. The only help she provides you with are these self-check quizzes.
Honestly this class was one of the worst I have encountered. I email her for help and she sends back cryptic emails that are not helpful. To anyone who needs to take Trigonometry, do not take her class. She says that she is generous with her time when I emailed her with a bunch of questions, because her answers were so cryptic.
Don't use this professor. When I asked for help, she only replied back with confusing answers. Reading the replies back was just like trying to figure out the difficult equations she has her students try and figure out. Even her videos prior to the assignment are mostly useless. She believes she is generous with her time, which is completely false.
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS PLEASE! This class made me break into tears and rethink my life. This teacher is not considerate and her explanations are very vague and one way. She requires A LOT of homework and the tests are just as bad. She will not allow calculators or reference sheets. For those who struggle in math this will be your hardest course yet.
Look I'm not someone who complains about another if it's my fault but this teach wasn't that great. I tried my very hardest and i've never gotten below a "B" in math but you see it went down the drain. Test are very heavy and there is no review her. She's very strict and when asked about a problem she said "refer to the notes"
Professor Fritsch is an amazing professor, she will go out of her way just to make sure you understand the topic. She has a great attitude towards teaching and if you pay attention and do your work you will have at least a B in the class.
This teacher is a teacher no one should have. She thinks she is doing you a favor by answering your questions. If you need help she says to go to the tutoring lounge or look at the notes we dont have. There are no reviews for the exam and you better hope you studied the right amount of work before the exam. No calculators or reference sheets.
She explains everything to detail which is what I loved about her class. Has weekly homework due but are pretty easy, and help you understand the topic more. No calculators allowed. She did have optional practice quizzes(5-10 questions) which were what she used to make her exam questions, but most people didn't bother with them.
Let's be honest it's a math class. She is a great professor, and her tests are terribly hard. Homework is online and will literally walk you through the problems. Formula sheet that is provided has everything you need to know. Study, study, study. 4 tests (including final). Drops 2 of your lowest hw grades, and replaces lowest test grade with exam.
This professor is a good math teacher! She explains everything thoroughly and makes sure you understand. There's homework due at the beginning of every week. There were 3 unit tests and a final exam. She tells you everything that will be on the tests. She doesn't take attendance, although one lecture is usually a continuation of another.
7+ homework assignments per week with 20+ questions each, and written work required for almost half of it. If you ask for help on a question, she will give you a cryptic answer pertaining to a completely different example. She also expects you to study every day of the week. If you value your free time, do not take this professor.
Im not a fan of math, and not very good at it, but I did good in this class. Its not hard, the homework is harder than the tests. You dont use a calculator, but you dont need one. The tests are pretty easy. She gives really good explanations and is always willing to help. There is quite a bit of homework due almost every Sunday.
Professor was terrible. She only teaches notes and doesn't even check that the students understand what she's saying. She grades written work harshly. As in if your equal signs are not lined up you get 10 points off. She is not understanding at all. If you aren't there it's a zero. No matter what reason you have. So much homework 100-150q per week.
DONT TAKE if you have questions she'll just respond with vague answers. Also she gives so much homework and she is VERY test heavy she gives practice exams every other week and they weigh just as much as a normal test she gives. Dont put yourself through the pain I had to endure.
