This class requires you to apply yourself. You have to be able to meet deadlines. The content of the course help to open up new interests in Art & History of Art that I never knew I had interest in. Prof. Garman is great with helping you to understand as well as keeping you interested.

I took this course online and it was a great experience. If you are lazy do not take this class because you have to do about 3 posts weekly, and an exam every 2 weeks. EVERY question on the study guide will most likely be on the test, so if you read...then you will do fine. She was SUPER understanding about late work and VERY clear. A++

I took HUM 1120 virtually and really enjoyed it. Prof. Garman's commentary and online interaction inspired me to keep up the work. Although the course was online, she seems to really care about her students and comes across as a warm person. I highly recommend her as a professor!!!

Very interactive but I'd have to disagree with other students that this is an "easy A". I received an "A" when I took her On-line class, but it was no piece-of-cake. I worked my butt off for that grade. just an fyi, it's required you visit a musuem AND attend a theater production and write a research paper-type assignment on both experiences.

ONLINE class. Clear in her assignments & calender, and will give extensions for quiz's (with a logical excuse). I got a C+ because i SUCK at taking midterms / finals, but I got 100's on both papers and all posts. Fair grader, but the quiz's/tests were a little tough. I wish she gave me a B with the 79 i had.. i should have done the extra credit!

Great teacher, subject is interesting to learn about. You have to attend a museum and a theater to write 2 essays of 500+ words. Besides that the work was pretty easy. Log on every day for at least 30 minutes.

Great Professor. There is 1 writing assaignment which is only 500 words. The visitation to a museum and theatre is easy and interesting 750 word paper ea. You learn alot; interesting topics, responds quickly to emails, understanding, and she gives a study guide for both exams and all quizzes. The study guide is exactly what'll be on the test.

Professor Garman is a great professor, she really knows what she is doing. Also she is very concerned about her students progress, she helps a lot with the guides for the quizzes. I had a lot of fun in her class, I went to a museum and a theater, I learned a lot and best of all I enjoyed it a lot.

This professor rocks! She has fun assignments that are based on the readings (you do have to read a lot in this class). She holds up discussions every week about the material, and you get graded based on what you contribute. She is super helpful. Whenever I needed help with something, she would respond immediately. I got an A with her!

The class structue was defined and wel thought out. Expectations were clear and reasonable. Results were based on effort placed on class. Prof. Garman provided everything a student needs to make an A grade. If you don't get an A, then you did not do the minimal work required.

I tried to take the Humanities class and I had to drop out because I was doing poorly in the class. As a matter of fact, I wasn't really into art classes. I took this class online and it was better than I expected! There was extra credit each week and the material was actually very interesting. There are two visitation papers due one museum visit, and a performance. I very much enjoyed going to a play and a museum and observing them more than i would normally. This is a very interesting class. It is not a class where you have to do nothing, but it isn't difficult either. It is more about consistency with the assignments. With that and the extra credit, it is an easy A.

Her assignments are super easy and do-able! It can be done in the same day it is due! There are two assignments which require you to write a paper but she is an easy grader and you have a month to do it. Her class is very simple. TAKE THE CLASS if you are looking to learn and to improve your GPA. EASIEST A I HAVE EVER GOT.

Despite what some people are saying here, her workload is not so bad at all. Very simple. You could pass this course with an easy A if you just do the work. You don't even have to do the extra credits. And believe me, making one discussion board post & doing a quiz per week (which btw the answers are mostly found online) is not a bad courseload.

She provides various presentations to help you in addition to the readings. Weekly quiz and discussions. One midterm, one final, and two essays (one on museum visitation, the other on a theatricalmusical event.)

I took this class online & loved it. It's the only class I've taken online that I wish I had taken in person. There is one modulechapter a week. You can't skip ahead, they open weekly. Each module contains one quiz & one discussion post. Professor Garman gives you TWO make-up periods to catch up PLUS extra credit. Great experience overall.

As much as I tried to like it, I couldn't. Professor Garman does a great job on lecturing. She knows her content very well. There are modules online with quizzes for every chapter. She provides study guides. Do your work and you will be good. I recommend her. Don't miss the visitation papers or you will not pass.

She's a down to earth person that won't ask for too much. She's also lighthearted professor that is always willing to help. Take the time to study or you won't be getting the grade you want. I'd take her again in a heartbeat she made the subjects really understandable. She's one of the few teachers that teach in MDC.

Best online class ever. At first I didn't like the subject matter of this course. But thanks to her guidance and dedication I got to love it. There are some things she could improve in this course, but in general it is very well designed. I strongly recommend it.

Weekly quizzes, study guides (50-80 questions), discussion posts, etc. oh and two papers. You have to do ALL the assignments in order to pass the class (she stresses this from the beginning.) She's very involved and gives clear instructions for everything. As long as you stay on top of the homework you'll get a good grade. I put in 2-4 hours a week

She's very passionate about her job, so be ready. There's a lot of work for this being a humanities class, but it's not difficult! Easy A as long as you do all the assignments.

You have two papers, sure but she gives you questions to answer for both so they are not difficult and you have a month to do them. She always answers her emails. This online course was not difficult at all. Consists of multiple choice quizzes and discussion posts. You have one mandatory in person multiple choice midterm and the rest is online. You can tell she loves what she teaches. She's very animated and lively so I never found class to be boring. She cares about your advancement in the class, grades fairly, gives a lot of chances for extra credit, and explains the material clearly and thoroughly.

If you don't watch the videos you will get a pop quiz. Professor Garman was a very good teacher and gives you a study guide that you fill out about what's on her midterm and final. Attendance is mandatory or you will be dropped from the class. Very passionate about her class and gives excellent feedback on assignments, very caring.

Professor Garman is an amazing professor. This class is not only fun but you learn a lot! You do have weekly quizes, discussion boards, and assignments but very interesting subject. Also have two visitation papers, 1- a museum and 2- a theater play. Midterm is proctored, final is not. Also gives extra credit opportunity. Very organized.

Seriously such a sweet and caring professor, gives plenty of extra credit (I mean like A LOT). Just maintain an organized schedule so you are always on track. VERY responsive, within a few hours you will hear back. Take this class!

Professor Garman is an excellent Professor. Get ready for a lot of assignments though. If you are lazy and do not take her because she gives out a lot of work.

Amazing teacher, she assigns a lot of homework and can be confusing for an online class but its just because she has a very tentative schedule she also gives a lot of extra credit. Would recommend to pick this Professor shes great!

Ms. Garman is an amazing and caring teacher. She doesnt take long to reply to emails. You get to work on your own time. However, you get a quiz every week. Only the midterm is proctored. This class is very easy, as long as you put in the work.

I learned a lot in her class, but if you are like me and will read everything just in case, then there IS A LOT OF READING. The class is interesting, but there is a lot of work. Every week there is a chapter to read, practice quiz which you have to do, a real quiz and a post a question format and respond to two other students, which is super easy.

Professor Garmans work was fairly easy. All the work came from answering online book questions, packback questions, and chapter quizzes. The midterm was proctored however, the final was not.

SHE IS AN AWESOME PROFESSOR BUT GET READY FOR PACKBACK (LIKE A DISCUSSION BOARD SETTING) AND REVEL ASSIGNMENTS. SHE MAKES CLASS INTERESTING AND GOES IN DEPTH WITH EVERYTHING SHE TEACHES. SHE DOES GIVE YOU TIME TO MAKE UP SOME HOMEWORK BUT NOT PACKBACK SO BEWARE OF THAT

This was the most consistent class I've had so far. Due dates were listed early on, everything was super accessible and easy to find, and emailing her was never an issue. Overall one of the best professors I've had so far, and would recommend her to anyone!

Professor Garman is a great professor because she truly wants her students to succeed. She made sure that I gave my best work and made me see my potential.

I took this class 100% online in Spring 2022, so this review is late, but that class was excellent. Everything was online, so there were not even Zoom classes. there is a lot of reading, but once you divide the work into bite sized pieces, it's doable. The class was very organized.

Weekly: Read 1 chapter, do a quiz, answer a Packback question. There are also 1 or 2 papers, a midterm, and a final. Yes, that's a ton of work. But if you divide it into doable pieces and manage your time, you'll be alright.

Prof. Garman is amazing. It's true that her class has a lot of homework but they are pretty easy to do. Also, she cares a lot about students and gives a lot of extra credits. Her class is super interesting.

Professor Garman is an amazing professor. She teaches the lectures from each chapter, and we end up talking about the things that are related to the topic. Even though the homework is sometimes complex, but she makes sure that we understand the material. Overall, I would recommend taking her class. She is amazing at what she does.

She cares about her students, one of the best professors I've had. Plenty of extra credit opportunities and is not an intense grader. Responds to emails quickly and even gives a google voice number. You do have to show up for class as attendance and participation are a part of your final grade, but if I could take her class again I would.

Professor Garman, was my favorite Professor this entire semester. She is kind and caring. Her assignments are easy and the final group project is very easy to complete if you have capable groupmates. Sadly my groupmates costs me a perfect grade. Professor Garman is one of the best professors in the entire campus and is my biggest inspiration.

Professor Garman's class has a heavy workload, but she cares about students and offers extra credit. Engaging with the material and managing your time is key. I found unstuck study helpful for study prep alongside the textbook.

This class was hands down extremely easy! Professor Garman is reliable and easy to get in contact with. If you want to take Hum1020 online please DO SO! Every week on Tuesday all the assignments for the week are due at 11:59 pm & the new ones are posted. every assignment is easy and pretty straightforward. She gives extra credit c.w for every week!

Easy class I was never really there, only assignment that you could worry about is the one essay that is worth 400 points but other than that very easy and smooth. professor is very understanding and very helpful with students in any situations.

Take this class! Honestly one of the best classes I ever took. It's impossible to fail this class. The work is so easy and I love her lectures. She knows what she's talking about and makes the class so interesting.There is a mandatory museum visit but again, it's worth it and you learn a lot. I love her! I would take this class over and over again.

prof garman is extremely caring, very structured, accessible out of class, and definitely knows what she talks about! homework takes 1.5-3hrs a week so beware, yet its still worth just to have her class! also a great resource for everything mdc :p couldn't recommend enough if you actually care to learn!

She's really nice and clearly loves her job. The workload isn't terrible as long as you manage your time well. There's 1 or 2 chapters due once a week along with a discussion question. I procrastinate a lot so you already know how that went for me. Visitation paper is mandatory, you can't pass without doing it 💔
