She's a good teacher, but teaches in a different way. But she's not bad I just do bad

she does teach like she is reviewing.... but she does try very hard to help you out after classs.... but she teaches everyhting all at once so it might kinda get confusing. as long as you review her work after class... ur all right.

IM bad at math to begin with, but found her helpful and precise. She practically teaches straight from the book, but i found her to be a good teacher. Got a C-, but im terrible at math anyway. Seems nice, and a good lookin lady.

I think she is a great professor. at first you might be overwhelmed by her pace, but as you get used to her, you see that she's really good. she's always extremely helpful if you really need help and very encouraging

she might be fast at first, but u get used to it.and u can always ask questions durin class if u don't understand. tests were okay if u understood the material. dun really have to read the book, just review ur notes.

She is the best, very helpful and her exams are easy if you do ur work and really focus on the review qs she gives. She may seem a little fast but u get used to it. Just don't fall behind and ull b fine Id take her again

She's soooooooooo helpful. If you're ever having any problems ask her, she'll help. If she notices everyone's not doing too well, she'll give xtra credit, which is awesome. Also, for the uniform exam, study the booklet from SACC. It's so helpful because it's the same questions different numbers!

She is so nice and her lecture is clear and easy to understand. She really cares about students. Her exams are easy and her reviews are really helpful. You can follow her very easily and get an A at last! Take her!!

this material is very hard...it is stupid to expect an easy A, so dont even go there. She does such a great job explaining! Just make sure you do the problems in the back of the chapter to master the material. They really help. I was so inspired by her- she is very beautiful and smart. She's my role model.

Like everyone said, she is sooo helpful. Very precise. I had her class at 8:40am & she is always smiling. Has an accent (Ireland) but you can totally understand her. She writes out the guidelines and then go over it step by step. She's the best math professor i've known. You'll pass if you're not slacking off, guaranteed.

Best professor I've had yet. She's very nice and teaches clearly -- explaining everything step by step and showing many examples to help you understand it. She's also willing to help people outside the class as much as possible. Definately recommend taking her if you have trouble with Calc.

I think her accent is Scottish, but the class is basically how good you are at math(calculus in my case) so if your good at math then you can get an A if your not, well then its time to get tutoring. I think she's nice and a lil bit TOO into math but overall nice professor. Also...4 tests, no quizzes, no homework checks.

Harney is very helpful. Her class is slightly difficult, but only because of the extensive curriculum. Take her class if you actually want to learn something! We had 4 class exams and one quiz. Overall, her class wasn't bad...I would recommend taking her.

She has a strong scottish accent, but once you get used to it, its not that bad. She is sweet and helpful. Her tests are not hard if you have been following what she does in class

Had her for Pre-cal. I would highly recommend her if you are weak in math. She teaches in a very clear and methodical manner. You will actually learn the material if you take her class and attend the classes. her tests get a little difficult near the end but she is fair and will try and help you. Excellent professor.

Calculus is a very difficult class. It's not a class that you can be absent from. Prof. Harney was very sweet and helpful. If you have a strong math background I recommend her. If not you could be taking this class more than once. Do the practice exams!!

It's math. Don't kid yourself who ever you take-it's going to take a little effort. Prof. Harney is the sweetest most caring and dedicated math teacher in the department. If she is available consider yourself lucky. Yes-take her, do the webworks. Ask questions. Anyone can get an A in the class if they put in the time. Prof. Harney is there to help.

She will do all she can to help you out. She did a fairly good job teaching this course for the first time and if you are taking this class for Exam FM, you won't be disappointed. She is a fair grader and good teacher. 3 tests and final which are not that hard. I'm guessing she will only improve her teaching methods as she teaches this course again

Calculus is not easy class but she help you.When i went her office,she helped me kindly.Her class is clear and easy.On the exam, you read her note and practice her examples and online assignment question.And extra credit question paper is easy. But if you hate math, take lower lever calculus.

Prof. Harney is very helpful. Her lectures are very clear. Take her and you will not regret. I received an 'A' but I worked for it. 3 exams, 1 assignment for extra credit, and cumulative final exam.

the best prof at baruch. she will help you as much as she can. she is available for extra help and she always tells her students to stop by her office for extra help. her exams are a bit tricky. she gives extra credit which helps alot. calculus isnt an easy subject, she made it easy and explained it as clear as she could. She really does care about her students like their her own kids. She teaches like H.S. teachers being very descriptive n lettin u try the work on ur own. She takes time to go around and help. I enjoyed the class but her test are not easy n she doesn't curve but if u just do all ur work, go to class n do well on her exams n the final you'll be fine.

She really does try her best, but sometimes makes things more complicated than they really are...prepare to work your but off...but that's probably not her fault. If you go to saac consistantly, you will probably pass, but I wouldn't count on this professor alone. She's very nice, and she will work with you well one on one.

Keeps class very light and fun, hw can take time and you'll need to use the text book to fill in some missing pieces but otherwise her teaching is very accessible. She's very helpful and patient and posts all her notes on blackboard, and what a tush!

Very fun and INTERESTing class! 4 exams: the first three count 2/9's each and the final is 1/3 of your grade. She explains everything clearly and always answers questions. To do well you must practice on your own a lot! all the resources she provides are extremely helpful. She is one of the best math professors at Baruch

Professor Harney teaches the material clearly & slowly and makes the effort to help students understand. Weekly webwork assignments, no textbook work. She uses a tablet pc to teach and uploads the notes for students to download - VERY helpful. MTH2003 is a very tough class, but Prof Harney is the one to take. A+ for her!

Beautiful Woman. Even though i had to drop the class, she held my hand all the way until the end. She sometimes makes things more complicated then they really are, kinda confuses you. But she will always keep you updated with your grades, she's so helpful and she will not seize to tell you to drop! take her if you need the extra push.

Amazing professor.Very dedicated to helping her students.She makes sure that you understand the material prior to the exams, and gives partial credit on the exams even if you get the wrong final answer. she's willing to expain everything after class and her attitude towards math was fantastic. a gifted professor if you really put effort in this course. no dropping of the lowest available and no extra credits. i gotta a low grade but i would highly recommend her !!

She always help students but she won't curve grade so you need to well. Your final grade will be same as whatever you get in class exam and final exam.

Took her after failing the class twice; finally passed because I understood the subject matter and she's super helpful in preparing you for the final. Ultimately though, practice exams are a must! She was also pretty generous regarding Webworks.

Harney is great and extremely helpful. DO NOT take the course if it's hybrid because you will only meet once a week and she won't actually teach (she'll review the material from the online video lectures). Overall- fair grader, meets with you in her spare time, and tries her best to explain the material. Take her if you get the chance!!

She is a wonderful professor who can make the complicated material easy to understand. She's very nice and tries to make class fun to attend. Three class exams (66%) and one final (33%).

She's awesome. She tries her best to help you out and understand the material, which is confusing at times. She gives extra credit too which is great. Make sure you do it, and also do the problems she assigns. They show up time to time on her exams. Overall, I highly recommend her for Theory of Interest.

Easily the best math teacher at Baruch IMO. Clear lesson plan, clear notes, will stop to help at any time, no indecipherable accent. She genuinely enjoys math and somehow got me to as well even tho I DESPISE it. Must stake for bus majors

You can tell she really enjoys her job and she tries hard to help everyone get the grades they want. She answers all questions asked,goes over every topic that is going to be tested, and prepares you for the final.She grades and sends emails quickly.Calc is difficult, but she explains everything very well and points out common mistakes.I recommend!

This professor is just excellent. She will take students with out a strong math background and bring them to understand and enjoy the subject. Every minute of class is productive. Her explanations are extremely clear as she lays them out in comprehensible steps. Take this professor for math! You will be happy.

If you can actually get her as a professor because her classes full up the second it's open, you are in deep luck. She is hands down the BEST math professor I've ever had in Baruch. She's fair. She tells you what you are expected to know and she makes sure you know it.

AMAZING professor. For all my years of schooling I have hated math. Now, I LOVE it simply because I finally understand it. Professor Harney goes slow, explains things clearly and will go over confusing topics multiple times. I honestly enjoyed being in class because she is so kind and understanding. I came in to college with a weak foundation in algebra II and a D in honors calc, i was struggling and fearful of math. Prof. Harney made me love math, I can't believe it, like i actually did the homework while smiling. She's always there to explain problems to you if you don't understand and willing to stay after class to help. Best professor!

Advanced Calculus as Professor Patterson explains is a misnomer for this class. It's an introduction to real analysis and it requires a different mindset. You do not compute anything in this class. It's all proofs. Prof. did a great job easing you into the subject, but she does administer 4 exams so it can get taxing mentally. Tough class, but fun.

Professor Harney (now Professor Patterson) is a great teacher. Pay attention in class and you will do well. She is very good at explaining the concepts of interest theory, which can be tricky to someone who has never had experience with basic finance before. She is also very helpful at office hours and always wants to help you do well.

Midterms are what you do in class, just different numbers, no surprise! Wants to help everyone. Do your work, it will be paid off! Take her with no hesitation! I wish she taught all my classes.

So glad I took Prof Harney/Patterson for the summer session. She patiently breaks down complex problems but class moves quickly. Focus more on the lecture, she'll post the notes on BB after each class. Study regularly, get 80% on MML hw, cram reviews, and you'll pass with an A too.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST MATH PROFESSOR AT BARUCH. Makes everything so easy and really cares about her students. If you follow her in class then you should be able to get a decent grade. I can't believe she does not have a 5.0 rating. BEST PROF EVER!
