Super easy, really good class with amazing guest speakers. Really learn a lot and assignments are simple and no final exam!
Sarah is the BEST professor at Ryerson!!! Do not finish your program without taking her class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fantastic class and great prof!!!
This instructor is one of the best I have ever had. Truly amazing method of teaching and class incorporation. This class should be mandatory for any student in the social sciences domain. I would take it all over again if I could. The only bad thing I can say is that there are not enough classes to fulfill the demand.
Prof Harrison is passionate and knowledgeable, as well as her husband. Took this course in my freshmen year of university and it is one of the most life changing courses. I'm so sad it had to end... I recommend taking it before you graduate, or ASAP. You won't regret it.
absolutely amazing prof and class! course should be mandatory regardless of what faculty you're in!
This prof was more than just amazing. Best one I've ever had in my entire undergrad! Learned so much from her and hope to become as active in the community as she is. The structure of this course was great.
Sarah is passionate about her work. She has given me faith in society. Although I do not know what mark I have received in the course, she is fair and engaging. There is lots of guest speakers that give you a life perspective on what the reality is. I would recommend taking any class with her and of course, Pascal.
BEST PROF EVER
AMAZING PROFS!!
I love this course!!!
Sarah is passionate, knowledgeable, and heavily involved in the field of homelessness. She delivers content in the most intriguing way with tons of guest speakers and a street walk so that we are able to gain real life perspective. I think this class should be mandatory!!
Sarah is the best! She is super fun to be in class with, helpful, attentive, and loves her class! It was definitely my favourite PR at Ryerson.
Awesome class and amazing prof! Very helpful when answering e-mails, made the class very interesting and was very knowledgable. Honoured to have had the opportunity to take a course with her!
Sarah is an excellent teacher as in very passionate about her teachings. Love this course! Would recommend it to anyone. Favourite course in my university career.
Sarah was an amazing teacher. Definitely a good course!!! Best course I have taken. Very interesting and a easy course.
Amazing class, Amazing Prof! This class should be a required one because it opens your eyes. Totally worth the fight on RAMMS to get a spot in this class. BEST CLASS EVER
Sarah was an amazing instructor! She's so much fun and really engaging in the way she teaches the course, which includes lectures, group discussion, many guest speakers having previously experienced homelessness. She's so cool, easygoing, she's an easy marker, straight forward, passionate about solving the homelessness crisis in Canada. I LOVED IT!
I LOVE SARAH! Best prof I had this past semester; she is so passionate about what she does, and very nice, sincere, and approachable. The course was also very engaging and interesting, and really opened my eyes a bit more to the world around me. One of the only 3-hour lectures that can keep me listening and awake the whole time!
Awesome instructor! Got an A+!! But that is also because I worked hard for it. Daily personal journals are easy, she'll give you a perfect 10 if you follow the format. I heard she can also be a hard marker if you put minimal effort in your budget activity and final project. Pick the intensive course!!! Sarah is also very funny. I like her!!
Awesome prof. If you can take her course, do it. She is quite honestly one of the best professors I've had. Go to class, it's worth 20% of your mark but it's interesting and she is engaging.
Sarah was a wonderful professor! Witty, well-spoken, I would definitely take another class with her!
Took the intensive CINT908 course. Sarah is an incredible professor, by far one of the best at RyeHigh. Responds to emails fairly quickly, and is always willing to help you for the assignments. Don't hesitate to email her, if you need clarifications or any feedback before the assignment is due. Very inspirational, and truly cares about her students
I love Sarah!! She has such a big heart and knows her stuff. As a student you can tell how passionate she is and that really makes you want to go to class. She's funny too. Both Sarah and Pascal are world changers. It's an honour to get a spot in their class! You will walk away with a different perspective on life and feel like a part of her family
Sarah is an absolute gem! She always keeps it real in class and is super knowledgable about homelessness and intersecting factors. Be prepared to be inspired, it will leave you with a feeling that you can be a part of something great! You'll be ready to go out into the world and work with others to resolve the issues!
She's really nice and easy to talk to, very knowledgable
Great course! The professor is very fun and makes the class interesting every time. This class will never have you bored and you'll love every minute of it! It's also very relavent to everything going on in the world right now so you will take a lot from this class.
Sarah made learning fun, critical and engaging for me. Class participation was always happening because the content was fresh, fun and most importantly up-to-date. What I learned in that class I could apply right away. It gave me a new, profound understanding and respect for those who face homelessness. I am grateful to have had this opportunity.
Sarah was a great class leader. A lot of experience, knowledge, leadership, and humour which made the classes engaging and fun to take part in. The material was presented in a way that all the students participate and feel like they are contributing to the knowledge not just listening and taking notes. Highly recommended!
Great Prof. Made a horribly long intensive course much more bearable. Take this course, you will not regret it!
This class gives you wonderful insight into the misconceptions of our society and the issue of homelessness. The guest speakers really impacted me and the class was super fun and engaging! The assignments were fairly easy and were not time consuming. Definitely recommended!
Sarah is a nice person and she gives good insight and gives good feedback.
Really great class, really enjoyed it
I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to have Sarah as a professor. She is hilariously sarcastic, smart, and kind hearted. The course is designed in a way that allows you to succeed. There are no exams or note taking required. Much of the class is graded on participation and if you grasp and understand concepts. I highly recommend!
Absolutely loved this class! It was very eye opening and helped unpack many of the misconceptions society holds regarding this marginalized community. The guest speakers provided an insightful look into the realities of experiencing homelessness. Definitely would recommend! Sarah was amazing!
Definitely the best class I have ever taken! I recommend that EVERYONE take this course, I promise it will be one of the greatest learning experiences you will have.
Sarah is a great prof, she understands what she is teaching and is very passionate, you can see that while she teaches. She give clear steps on what to do for the projects, and if you are unclear about something she will answer. Class was great, just make sure you participate, it's such an inspirational class and you get to learn so much.
Sarah was a lovely professor. She was interesting, very passionate about the course (which is necessary during a week long intensive where you're tired often), and she gives amazing feedback on your work! She was very clear when giving directions about the assignments, and always encouraged and answered questions. The course itself was enlightening
Such an engaging Class. Sarah and Pascal make the course very interesting as both are passionate about the subject. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone in the ICON program as it feels like a great addition to our studies and a nice change from the typical courses we take. Wish I took this course sooner to tell more people about it.
Sarah was remarkable in her spirit and energy. Throughout the class, you will meet various guest speakers that will challenge your strongest beliefs and views, learn about how powerful you can really be as an agent of change, and learn lessons that will stay with you for a lifetime through unshakable evidence. It was an unforgettable journey.
Amazing both Sarah and Pascal, felt truly inspired and they both really care about what they're teaching and they're students. Best course of my undergrad 10/10
Sarah and Pascal work really well together to provide an engaging and life changing class. I personally enjoyed my week intensive and would definitely take another version of this class if there was one available. Overall, I had a great experience.
Honestly. Amazing. Knowledgeable about the course, and is passionate about what she teaches. Herself and her partner Pascal are truly one of the most amazing instructors I have come across. For one, they are couple goals, partners at work and partners in life. They enjoy what they teach and are able to share their knowledge through experience.
Pascal and Sarah were the best profs I ever had! They were so passionate about homelessness and their lectures inspired me to want to work towards ending homelessness. I would highly recommend anyone to take it. I learned so many new things and they broadened my perspectives. So glad I had them as my profs. Lots of interesting guest speakers too.
I would defintely recomend this class to anyone. When i first saw the course outline i was a bit worried about the weight of the two major assingments. However, once you begin the class you see that they arent too bad and you have different options which is nice. Sarah is super friendly and funny and i would love to have her as a prof again.
This was hands down my favourite class I have taken within university. I left the week feeling inspired and able to make actual change in the world. Sarah is very knowledgable and obviously cares about the content she is teaching. Sarah also gives good feedback on your assignments, if I could take this class again, I would do it in a heartbeat!
Sarah and Pascal are two of my best profs! They brought insight to a topic that is heavy with humanity, facts, and comedy. Guest speakers & street walk gave great context to info learned. Profs want to hear your voice in assignments and I loved their approach! I would highly suggest having both profs however you can fit them in your schedule!
You will enjoy the class because of how supportive this professor is.
Honestly one of the most inspirational classes I've ever had the pleasure of taking. I can truly say my outlook on the homelessness experience has changed forever. Its a very practical class and you walk with all the tools to really make a difference, not wondering where do i start. And Sarah's grading and feedback was very fair and helpful.
A very passionate and knowledgable professor who puts a new and interesting spin on the classroom environment. Funny, smart, interesting, concise, fair marker who makes it nearly impossible to fail this class. If you pay attention and contribute fairly, it will reflect in your grades. This class should be a MANDATORY for nursing and social work!
Sarah is awesome! She's a fair marker, gives constructive feedback and is truly passionate about her work.
very well laid out class, my favorite but difficult marker
Sarah is a great professor who gives good and fair feedback. This class was a great learning experience. The course content was not only well put together, but Sarah and Pascal's teaching made it one of my favourite classes ever.
This class was incredibly engaging for such a short duration. I felt enriched in my knowledge of course content and felt both Sarah and Pascal did wonders for teaching us about issues surrounding homelessness in Toronto. The grading was fair and they never criticized anyone for having a differing opinion. Very open minded!
Sarah was a great professor! She was very knowledgeable and passionate about the topics and lectures given. Feed back was also great, prompt and very useful for future assignments!
Sarah and Pascal are the greatest teaching force to exist at Ryerson University; they need like superhero names. Sarah is passionate when it comes to this topic, and you can tell really devotes her time towards getting the point across. She makes a connection with students so easily and those attributes are prized when it comes to a professor.
Such a great Prof! So knowledgeable on the course content and such a passion for what she teaches. Not only are her lectures/content so interesting to listen to (not boring at all), she is also hilarious and super caring. I hope I have Sarah soon again for another course!
CINT908 is inspirational, thought provoking and enjoyable! Sarah and Pascal work together to engage students and raise questions that our society face on a daily basis. Class was never boring and was filled with so many eye opening activities that have changed my view on homelessness. They created a safe and friendly environment which is a must!
The highest regards for this prof. If you have the chance to take the Homelessness in Society course with Sarah, seize the opportunity. Her experience, intriguing insights, and captivating lectures will make you wish you had her for every course. This prof is quick at answering emails, very caring, and has a hilarious sense of humour!
This was the best course I have taken so far. The professor was knowledgeable about the material of the course. She took her time to explain the assignment and was willing to discuss your topic if the student had difficulties to understand it. I would love to see this professor teaching other courses. Great Job!
The professor/s provided great lectures, with guest speakers (with lived experience), in a setting where we could "safely" discuss difficult topics. I also appreciated the way that this course was structured. I felt that the two breaks and the longer lunch really helped to reduce the draining effect of sitting down in a closed room for nine hours.
A very inspirational class, with thought provoking content. Delivered in an engaging and informative manner. Sarah's passion for this subject is evident as her energy shines through during the lectures.
Sarah was an amazing prof, she was truly inspirational and course materials were clear and to the point. definitely would take this course again.
It was truly an honour to be in Sarah's class. I really liked how Sarah was task-oriented with her work, and stayed on topic throughout the class. Additionally, she has a beautiful way of making every content which she talks about interesting and engaging. It is apparent that she cares about her classes, course content and students.
Sarah had such an honest and real way of teaching. She had a great way of levelling with us, and applying her experiences to help us better understand the material. She helped us empathize with the plight of persons experiencing homelessness. Sarah was extremely helpful in completing assignments and provided us with very detailed, useful feedback.
I have now graduated Ryerson, but Sarah is honestly the best professor I have had the pleasure of learning from. Simply one extraordinary being.
Sarah is a passionate and engaging professor with a great sense of humour. Creative, wise, and easy to listen to. She made time for me outside of class to offer support around an interpersonal issue I was having, which was immensely helpful. Her investment in student learning and anti-homeless advocacy is top notch. A+
Sarah is super sweet, caring, and genuine with her students. She actively tries to engage everyone in discussion and connects with her students. It was a pleasure having her, and wish that I could have her teach me again!!!
Be sure to work for it. Marks hard! The attendance and participation grading system is messed up. Not a bird course. Good in-class discussions though.
If you ever get a chance to take a class with Sarah... DO IT. The content is not difficult, but incredibly interesting. My class was a night class and I didn't miss one because I genuinely enjoyed it. CINT 908 is a great class that encompasses many social work themes. DONT TAKE IT WITH ANYONE ELSE, YOUD BE MISSING OUT.
Homelessness in Cnd society was the MOST AMAZING class I have ever taken. I had the privilege of being taught by Sara, and her partner Pascal Murphy. Gives good feedback, respected, inspirational, hilarious, caring!! There's guest lecturers nearly every week - and we went on a street walk, lead by people who have been homeless before.
Sarah's passion for making a difference makes this class inspirational and enjoyable. The class itself is quite generalize of many topics on homelessness. The weekly guest lecturers were also a reason why I attended most of the lectures
Sarah is very passionate about the content she teaches and is very caring. You can tell she enjoys teaching the class because everyone is very engaged in discussions. Just follow the detailed outlines they give you and you'll do well! They're very clear about what they look for in assignments.
omg. I love her. She's hilarious and stands by what she says and has amazing lectures. Inspirational, knowledgeable, and one of the best profs at Ryerson.
This course is honeslty life changing. The passion and love that goes into every aspect of the class and course by both Pascal and Sarah is astounding. This class will make you think and feel in ways you have not done before and because if this the content stays with you long after the class ends. Truly a MUST TAKE class!! thank you to you both!!
Really incredible course. Sarah thoroughly explained what was expected of each assignment and was more than willing to provide feedback post-assingment which was highly appreciated. Definitely would recommend this course to anyone!
Sarah is Pascals partner and equally incredible to learn from. Shes funny, engaging, passionate and knowledgeable. Makes you feel comfortable to have open class dialogue. Highly recommend course. Guest speakers and walk around Toronto with a person that had experienced homelesssness was life changing. Amazing role model, professor, and person.
Take this class. She is AMAZING. There is no way you will regret taking it. It is the BEST decision I have made all year. I know it is hard to believe, but you will actually enjoy this class sooo much that you will not mind going to class at 8:30am. Its that good. This class should be required to be a decent human being in life. Life changed.
A course that I believe everyone should be exposed to and what better way than to be taught by two remarkable educators who dedicate their lives to ensuring the world becomes a better place.
Fantastic class , I would definitely take it again if I could ! Sarah is amazing, she is very pationate about the content, which makes the class better. Not a lot of note taking and the lectures are very interesting and inspiring. I recommend this course to everyone!!
Awesome prof, and an amazing course. Took it as an intensive
Such an amazing lecturer! Sarah is hilarious, she makes dry topics super inspirational, funny and exciting. Lectures were engaging and never just a read by slide formation; which kept things interesting. Along was Pascal, this course was taught in a way that will go down as being THE course that changed my life. Highly recommend! Knowledge is power
This was one of the most powerful classes I have ever taken. Sarah is an amazing professor who is committed to making a positive change in our society. My thoughts and ideas were challenged each and every class. I would highly suggest taking this course with Pascal and Sarah. Best class ever!
She respects students and is always passionate about what she is teaching.
Sarah is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable. Though most of my classes were taught by Pascal, it was clear that Sarah was just as deeply involved in the subject and course material. Pascal and Sarah are a strong team and learning from both of them enhances the entire learning experience. Would recommend this class to anyone and everyone!
Be ready to be open minded and learn from her experience and resources. Guest speakers were amazing
Sarah is a fun, caring, and inspirational professor. Her lecture is both laid-back and interesting. She is passionate about what she teaches and knows lots of info regarding various social issues. She is very involved in the community and is a good role model to many. She is specific with what she wants on the assignment but not a hard marker.
Probably the BEST class at Ryerson to broaden your perspective on Toronto and life in general. Pascal and Sarah create a safe and enjoyable environment where all can speak openly and discuss ideas. Their passion for teaching is incredible. I loved their teaching style, more absorbable and less notetaking. Also the best people, approachable &caring.
Very easy marker if you follow instructions. Very helpful and Replies very fast to email. Lectures are funny and interesting. Gave me A+ for all my papers
Loved this prof and her funny jokes. Sarah, Pascal, and Chris were amazing together. Definitely, recommend taking this class with her. Easy marker.

Sarah is an amazing prof and is passionate about what she teaches/believes in. Just like her colleagues, Pascal and Chris, she keeps us inspired (and awake) in and out of the lectures. Prof is an A+++++++++ and the course itself is life changing for real.
One of the realest, sweetest, most genuine professors to ever teach at Ryerson. I literally feel privileged that I wasn't waitlisted for this course. I maximally enjoyed it and actually brought the content learned back home and really liked debating the things with friends. It completely changed my mindset on my prejudices. I feel like a new person
Genuinely wants students to do well. Clear grading criteria and gives great feedback on assignments so you can improve. The assignments are creative and thoughtful and there are lots of opportunities for students to do well. Come to class, be engaged, participate and reap the rewards!
This is one of the best classes I have ever taken! Sarah was a engaging prof! Really good with marking assignments on time and giving constructive feedback.
Sarah is warm-hearted and loves cracking jokes during lectures. Makes long lectures seem sort. Don't hesitate to take CINT 908 with her.
Sassy, funny, and kind. Sarah cares about all the injustices in the world & it makes you so aware of them. She motivated me to want to implement positive changes in my life & carry that on into other's lives. The way she lectures makes you think: "I never thought of it that way!" It will change your entire perception on that specific topic for good
This class was one of the best class that I have taken thus far. I have learned so much and have gained so much knowledge through the real life experiences shared by our guests. This course allows you to grow not only as a student, but as a human being.
Just take CINT 908 or INT 908 You wont regret it !
What an amazing joy it was to be in Sarah's class. I would take any class she was the professor in. She is funny, engaging, and so passionate about the subject and it really shines through in her teaching and facilitation. I am so glad I had her as a professor. She truly leaves you in awe after each lecture and with valuable knowledge to use everyday.
Sarah is an amazing teacher and this is an amazing course. The small class size, multiple guest speakers, and overall format of this class make it memorable, meaningful, and enlightening. Highly recommend taking any course with Sarah.
Sarah was very knowledgeable and passionate in this course. She gave the portentous reality of the topics being discussed. Her methods of teaching provides me with increased awareness and has made me see things differently than before.
Sarah provided the class with clear instructions for all assignments and explained what would be some of the challenges for each and what her and Pascal were looking for. It was an utmost pleasure to be part of their class. They are not only very knowledgeable of homelessness but they are able to articulate their knowledge in a way that sticks!
