She is extremely helpful, fun, and her exams are extremely easy! She loves art history and she is very enthusiastic. Very friendly, and nice. Easy easy A. No assignments, no papers, and no presentations. Exams are multiple choice plus slide ID's that she gives you in class.Book is great, easy to read. Very very cool class and cool professor!!!!
pleasant appearance. intersperses lectures with videos and welcomes students' opinions
she is very nice and helpfull easy exams only like 3 or four all one page.she loves what she does and is very intresting. i would highly recomend her, gives you very good study guide basically tells you all the answers, you do have to study but its more memorizing a couple of slides but easy A with little studing.TAKE HER WONT REGREAT!!
She is by far one of my favorite teachers ever. I love her so much I am taking her for another semester. You will learn a lot and the class in cool. Mostly uses the projector and just as long as you take notes and pay attention there is no reason why you shouldnt get at least a B.
She is a wonderful lady and teacher! Her lectures were awesome and she was very helpful with questions during them. Her exams are very easy, but if you dont go to class than its possible you will struggle (like most classes) Multiple choice, Slide Id's are what consists of the exams. Only 3 of them as well. Overall a great class and teacher!
She is awesome, her class is really good, not boring at all, she loves art and you cant notice that from the start. I'd recommend her a lot.
Great Teacher, She goes over all the images that are on the test. Printout has all the terms for the test. Review both to get an A. She's strict on attendance, will drop points from final grade!
She really knows about art. If you do your reading and attend class you should be fine. I however, was low on budget and have no book, so I ended up with a B in her class. If you love art you would love her.
She's friendly and shows a lot of enthusiasm. Just show up and take good notes! She does take 1 pt off for each class missed, but her study guides are so helpful. The book is more for reference. Great class, take her!
The professor does explain you clearly but lets face it her class is not easy you have to remember pretty much everything she teaches you. if you looking for an A i wouldn't recommend taking her classes.
Great teacher! Truly inspiring, before I attend this class I had almost no interest in Art History, but she taught me a lot and I certainly feel much more knowledgeble now. All you have to do is print out the term sheet every class and the exams will be a piece of cake.
Mrs. L is awesome. her lectures are interesting for the most part but unless youve had a good nights sleep, its easy to fall asleep in her morning class. her testing style is so easy. she really helps you out by giving you multiple choice questions. she provides the study guides for each chapter and exam which is extremely helpful!
she is great take her she is very lovely!!
Totally awesome teacher
Took her for the summer and it was easy and fun. I recommend her to anyone! She makes art appealing to all. Just take good notes (gets questions for test from those) and pay attention. Its really easy and clear.
I would highly recommend her. I took her Art 101 class in the spring and thought it was great. She's friendly and makes learning easy. 3 tests (all multi choice), 1 project, and a presentation but no other homework. The tests are easy just study the guide she gives & review images from the book and you will do fine.
Prof. Liberatore is a wonderful teacher. She is very passionate about art and it shows in her teaching. She's very clear, patient and willing to help out after class. I think she's a fine looking woman.
Please take Prof. Libeartore's class She was one of the best teacher's I've ever had. Very organized, followed the syllabus, thorough class. Make sure you attend class, take notes and pay attention. Review and LEARN all info. on study guides she passes out before exams and you will do fine.
she know her field very well, but her exams are extremely horrible, if u expect to get good grade please Don't take her!
The professor does explain you clearly but, her class is not easy you have to remember pretty much everything she teaches you. if you looking for an A i wouldn't recommend taking her classes.
What a wonderful professor and adviser. If you attend classes and participate you shouldn't have any issues with not passing. She is very organized and tells you what you need to know for the exams. I hope she teaches an elective I have to take.
Great professor! If you want A then dont miss any class! Very organized and lectures are very interesting. She'll tell you exactly what you need to learn on exams. Highly recommend her
Amazing teacher! She really knows her stuff! Very pleasant and helpful. I learned so much in this class it was unbelievable. You must take this class! She is crystal clear, took this during summer - one presentation, 3 exams (multiple choice) 1project, 6 easy assignments. Study guide are the exams!!
Amazing! She really knows her stuff! Very pleasant and helpful. I learned so much in this class it was unbelievable. You must take this class! She is crystal clear, very diplomatic. I took this during summer - one presentation, 3 exams (multiple choice) 1project, 6 easy assignments. Study guide are the exams!! art 101
Great professor! Come to class, take notes, do the projects, review the study guide before the test you sure will get an A
Very nice and helpful ! If you atten the class and study you will get an A !
Love her classes! Had her for Art 101 & 102 and love her! Goes over everything repeatedly, always available if you have questions or you need help, responds to emails quickly and tells you all the details of the assignments that you do. Plus she gives you MORE than enough time to do them. Go to class, take notes, do study guide = easy class!!
Professor Liberatore is a great Art teacher. She is passionate about what she teaches and is beyond helpful to her students. Assignments are really easy and there is a final project which is fun to do. Exams are from the notes that you take in class. If you attend her class, take notes, and do your homework, you will get an A. Highly recommended.
Prof Liberatore is a very helpful and understandable. You do 6 short paper video assignments, 1 presentation, the architecture project, & 3 exams (each worth 10%). It is a tedious class, but you must work hard for the grade. Also, attend every classes because it counts. Above all, I do recommend her for His 101 & she is a fair grader.
if you looking for an A i wouldn't recommend taking her classes. She is not easy at all. almost half of a class field her exam
She is very nice lady. This class has only 2 exams and final exam which is 5 pages of paper and 5 min speech. The first exam is take home exam and the second exam she will provide you all the information (images) you need to know. Take her, easy A.
This woman gives out 6 assignments for the short videos, but the video is NOT helpful at because most of the answers are not given. Also, she always replied to my e-mails late & did not have a specific office hour. Overall, this class is NOT easy because she is picky on assignments and the exams are graded in a harsh way. Please take another prof.
Professor Liberatore is so nice and is always willing to help you out, her test are the exact study guide. The tests aren't worth much and she makes learning this stuff interesting, I would highly recommend her, she is so great! She really knows her stuff.
she is a great teacher and i'm glad that ill be taking her for art 102 , HER EXAM IS EASY , IF YOU GO TO CLASS AND TAKE NOTES YOU WILL PASS HER CLASS.
Pretty easy course. Go to class, pay attention and take notes. There is a "paper" that's more of a booklet that requires you to go to museums/ art galleries and take pictures. Also a small power point presentation.
she is an amazing teacher , her homework's are easy and you don't need the book she doesn't require it unless you feel like you need it, i passed both of these cases with an A. but if you don't show up to class you will miss the notes. her exams are not hard
She is straight forward. Good note takers will get easy A. If you are taking too many classes, don't aspect easy A because history is not easy. No extra credit, so every assignment makes different. The " ART term paper" is fun to do and easy. her 90% students end up with A.
Very easy class. Attend class, pay attention, take notes and it's a guarantee A. Seriously, go to class and pay attention. Exam's study guides she posts are kinda garbage sometimes, very unorganized and sometimes hard to understand. Again, study guides are unnecessary if you just go to class and pay attention.
shes fair the project made me learn alot i would take her agin
I have taken 2 classes with her. She does round your grade up. Her video assignments are a little hard but I've learned to just write things that the video states. If you don't come to class it can really hurt your grade by attendance and test. If you are not a visual person or if you have a hard time remembering things this is not your class.
She made a subject I thought would bore me to death, spark a new perspective. Assignments are easy, if you take notes and study... you are guaranteed an "A" on her exams, and attendance counts! Very nice, I AM taking her again next semester for ART 102 :)
This is one of the best teacher I had, she is respectful, help you a lot. As an Hybrid class you will have to do part of your tests at home and other part on the class room. It's easy to achieve an A if you put attention in class, do your homework and show up.
She is a great Professor! The exams were easy multiple choice questions, The only homework was easy essays about history. The term project was fun to do, and the professor is super understanding and nice, I would definitely take her again.
Awesome professor, very easy to understand. Her lectures are very fascinating and she's also pretty humorous.
Taken art history 1 & 2 with her and she's absolutely amazing. She's so passionate about art and is extremely knowledgeable. The easiest class ever honestly, not a lot of homework at all. Trip to a museum, couple papers and some tests. She gives excellent study guides, everything is easy easy easy. TAKE HER SHES GREAT!!!
Took her class expecting it be dreadful but it was interesting. Actually learn cool stuff and she barely gives any homework and if she does it's just watching a video and writing a one page essay about it and for the exams she gives a study guide. Easy A
Liked her she is a nice professor. Homeworks are easy and the test is just like the lecture. Just make sure you study the pictures she posts online because they will be on the test. But there is also a trip to the museum which is worth 20 percent of your grade. But just take her and you won't regret it.
She is the best! Always on your side! Classes are not too difficult. She is sweet and is great at teaching. Always positive
Professor Liberatore is a great. She is thorough on what she expects from you. There is no extra credit but there is no need for it if you're on top of your work. She also makes the class enjoyable.
I loved Professor Liberatore. She made the class super interesting even though I am not an art person at all. She makes clear what she wants from you. I would recommend taking her in the summer.
Makes a tough subject easy. Other art history profs require students to memorize exact dates and test by short answer essay. She only gives multiple choice exams and dating is done by periods only. This doesnt mean you can BS - you MUST study the pictures to pass.
Simply, do not take with her. She is one of the worst prof in NOVA.
If you care about your grade, do not take with her.
Awful!!
Worst
Her exams are very hard. Also, she is a tough grader. I think that she feels good when she deducts points from the students.
Professor Liberatore is awesome (despite previous comments). She's pretty cool, and you can tell she's passionate about art. If you show interest, come to class, do your papers, and study for your exams, you will be fine! There's no point in complaining about a Professor if you're not willing to show effort or interest... #justsaying
There are 4 exams and 1 project. You have to visit a museum and take pictures. The exams are multiple choice but VERY specific. You wont pass if you dont study. Half of it is take home, the other half is in class and based on the art itself. Attendance is an entire exam grade. She is nice but will not baby you - no late work accepted
One of the best professors I have had. If anyone has said anything negative about her, they probably didn't put forth enough effort in her class. Tests are not difficult, but If you dont study dont expect to pass.
Simply, she was the worst prof.
She is a nice professor but her tests are hard.
Took her hybrid course in the summer. Lecture heavy course with weekly online written assignments. She speaks clearly and friendly with students. 3 Exams (30%), Assignments (50%), Attendance (20%). Don't miss class, pay attention, take notes, and do the online assignments and you will get an easy A. She doesn't accept late work.
Took hybrid course this summer. Those negative reviews are so wrong and probably written by the same disgruntled person. Literally show up, take notes, do well on the discussion and you will pass. The hybrid course wasn't heavily graded based on exams but more on discussions. Really interesting lectures. Never boring. Would recommend.
Summer class 2019 3 Exams. Graded for attendance . In class presentation, easy. Terms paper, easy. In class assignments, also easy must attend class to do. she provides study guides for all exams. Attend lectures and take notes, you'll pass. She provides slides, I did not purchase textbook.
If you show up, pay attention and do homework then you will pass. I took summer class with her and it was really easy. You mostly did discussion board post and two exams but its really hard to fail this class and if you do, blame yourself not the teacher she gives you everything you need in order to pass.
I have taken her classes a few times for my degree, and I can happily say that I trust her with anything related to Art History. Very insightful with what she teaches, she knows how to make something boring sound slightly interesting. However, her class is entirely lecture with a project and essay mixed in. Great professor that will make you work.
Professor Liberatore is a very Intelligent instructor. If you need an art credit, take her modern art class because it is very discussion based and you will enjoy the material. She is also very kind and has fair assignments.
Prof. Liberatore is a good teacher. But you have to review your notes for exams. Maybe it is best to have this course as an online class. Always be prepared! Good luck to her!
Prof Sarah is great. Especially for the lecture. All you need to do is participate and don't sleep in class. She seems tough but she is really a caring person.
I think Prof. Liberatore was a good instructor. She provided great feedback and strong details about what she was showing in each art image presented.
There's one major project and it's super fun! No homework but a ton of in-class assignments so don't plan on skipping. She's super sweet and understanding! Her tests sometimes stray away from her lectures, but if you read the chapters you'll get a good grade.
She was a good professor in class. However, during the pandemic she was really inconsiderate at times and seemed very annoyed whenever we asked her questions which was not nice considering it was a sudden change and many students were confused.
very organized and helpful professor. she loves to help people who are interested in her class.
I love Liberatore. I had her for 2 classes already and although her lectures are lengthy she really lets u know exactly what u should be writing down for the tests. There little to no hw (u might have 2-3 hw assignments depending on the class u take). She is really helpful and willing to work with u if u don't understand something.
Prof Liberatore is really genuine and cares about her students. Her content is easy to understand and she is very accommodating. Show up to class, do the work, and you'll pass.
Amazing professor. Her lectures were always so interesting and she transitioned the class into online really well. Weekly quizzes which come straight from class lectures and notes. There are a few papers that aren't very hard just a little time-consuming. Definitely take her class!
I really like her teaching style. Be wary- you MUST take notes. The quizzes and the homework grades are very dependent on the notes you take in class. I think she is nice, kind, and a good teacher. Made art history even more interesting and took the time to address every question every student had. The tests are not that hard either.
I took Art History 101 and 102 with the professor, and she explained every thing clearly and graded timely. Every week has some reading and assignment (hybrid class), every two weeks has a quiz, and total three small projects, which one was for midterm and one is for final (every easy!) I would take her again for my future class.
Took this professor this summer and this was by far the hardest class. For an elective there was a lot of homework that required effort and she really is a tough grader. My last class was also 8 weeks but the grading wasn't that harsh. be prepared to do a lot of work and possibly make no mistakes. Too much work for an elective class.
BEST PROFESSOR! She is the best; she makes sure we learn but also have fun with it. She is not a heavy grader are assignments are simple. Quizzes and projects are easy they are mostly about each topic you learn about. She makes this experience in learning about the history of art fun for students who may be new to the subject.
She is incredible, take her, and you will not regret it. She explains everything and records lectures so you can review them whenever you need to.
I have noticed, that of all the instructors the ones who teach history, art, and such are really uptight. The assignments need to be done exactly their way. Even if the question asks the students to imagine, Ms Liberatore doesn't give full credit and makes you feel like you are imagining it wrong.
I was hesitated to take ART class but because of her I ended up loving it !
I took her over the summer in a 6 week course and her class was very easy. 6 quizzes that are all open note open book and she tells you everything that will be on them. There's a project at the end of the semester, but it's extremely easy. Take her class if you have the chance.
Her syllabus is easy to follow as she doesn't throw any type of curve balls. Relatively easy to work with. The only thing I was ever annoyed about was her grading. She's very much a 'well technically' kind of person. Her quizzes are easy and her lectures are interesting; which is all that really matters. Easy A if do what you have to do.
She is just awesome. Her lectures are thorough and engaging. Her quizzes are always open book and easy if you attend class. Textbook is not neccesary. If you pay attention, and participate, it's an easy A. She is caring and understandable if you put in the effort
Awesome professor, take her class tests are open notes.
The best Art history professor. I took ART 101 and ART 102 with her. Attendance was mandatory, TAKE NOTES, her quizzes are open notes so take notes of what she says, she does use the book but mostly PowerPoint, but she provides a free version of the textbook. She is very flexible, comprehensible but talk to her in case something comes up
The class was pretty easy and manageable. I took art as a requirement, so it's not my favorite subject, but the professor made it better. The course is structured by weekly discussions, weekly quizzes, 3 proctored exams, and one project.
Great professor, does amazing lectures. The class followed an organized structure with clear grading outlines. Not difficult but plenty of extra resources to read about if you're interested. Highly recommend this class and professor
I took ART 101 with Professor Liberatore in May it was just a 6-week class but it was fun. you just need to work hard in her class, do your HW, come to class on time, and be prepared to write and describe in your HW and that's an A in this class.
I really enjoyed having her for my Art History class! Genuinely one of the periods I looked forward to. She is super easy-going and while there is a text book, as long as you pay attention + take notes on lectures, you will do absolutely fine. Quizzes were easy and writing assignments were fun. Overall, 10/10 :)
Her lectures are always very interesting and she makes sure to teach you what's going to be on the tests so as long as you take notes you should pass. The assignments were very interesting and though provoking. She seems like a great person and I plan on taking another one of her classes.
She is an amazing professor; she cares about her students and class. I would take her again. If you pay attention in class and take notes her quizzes are easy.
Very engaging lectures. This was technically the third time I've taken ART101 and she really made all of it stick. 6 open note quizzes, 6 short writing assignments. I plan on taking ART102 with her as well.
she is a great teacher, every week you get a test on canvas but no worries its super easy and open notes/open internet, its a very interesting class the only "big" thing are only 2 power points one for the final as well but you will be fine, I will definitely be taking her art 102 class!!
Very lecture heavy. Don't need the textbook if you come to class and are active with notes. She is super nice and is passionate about what she is talking about.
I wish she could teach every class I have. She's so kind and understanding and I think she's the best nova has to offer, i'd recommend this class. Just show up for a few hours and take notes and you'll be good.
Super easy!! Just attend class and you don't even have to take notes to pass with an A and I don't even history like that.
Professor Liberatore makes her art class engaging. With weekly quizzes, writing assignments, and helpful lectures, I aced the course. Unstuck AI was a great study aid too.
This professor is one of the sweetest people at NOVA. She is understanding if you do have something happening outside of class, but always email her. Her assignments are easy to complete and they are very short, so don't stress too much. If you are taking it online, you will be expected to visit a museum in order to write a paper.
The assignments seemed easy, but she expected more than what was written in the instructions, without clarifying those expectations. exams did not match the study guides and often focused on obscure trivia instead of core art concepts. There was no way to contact her for help or clarification, which made succeeding difficult.
Not an easy class you have to be motivated. reading textbook, articles and video. Quizes & discussion board every week. 1 essay with 750 words and 2 projects with 500 words. 4 Lock down test, 2 tests on recognition, name the art style and describe it and the 2 other exams are multiple choice worth. I wish she gave better instruction with the essay
She's a great professor, but not the best fit for a community college or freshmen class; her vibe could easily discourage students who aren't strong-minded.
I've taken both art history 101 and 102 with Prof Liberatore and have enjoyed it sooo much. Two projects, 6 assignments, 6 quizzes, and attendance make up your grade. If you pay attention in class and take notes, you don't need to use the textbook. She is really great about connecting different subjects and making it interesting!
