This class is all lecture but Ms. McCarter does a very good job of teaching to the class. If the class is struggling then she pushes stuff back and makes sure all are understanding. And for those that already get it, your free to leave and go complete your mandatory math lab hours. Only have to show up for tests and turn in homework.

She is a great Math teacher. Very clear and concise and since she is young she still has a passion for teaching. I was not at all excited about Stats, but she made it seem so easy. I would not only recommend you take her, but I would recommend you take her now and not put it off, because she is a really good teacher and you have nothing to fear.

Fantastic! Enjoyable class even though I hate math. Easy, concise explanations of the material. She wants you to learn and get a good grade. Tests are straight foward and you get 1-2 review days before a test. Not a lot of homework. I wish she taught more classes though- id love to take her again!

This teacher was AMAZING. I am not a great math student but the instructor made my learning experience a great one. I passes with an A in the class and rarely put extra time into her class because her lectures were straight and to the point

easiest math class i've ever taken, she is a very good teacher, and makes sure you understand everything. if you're failing, it's definitely your fault. she doesn't care if you come to class, just come for the tests and turn in your homework, tests were easy. i wish she taught more classes.

Her lectures are very organized and easy to understand. She knows how to articulate the subject matter unlike many other math professors. I highly recommend her! My only regret is that she does not teach Trig.

She is the greatest teacher ever and by far my favorite! She is very easy to understand always wants to help you, explains things very clearly! She doesn't care if you come to class and doesn't take roll. Only has 6 tests and hw is due the day of the test. You only use your text book to do hw. Take her class!! You're gonna love her!

I loved this teacher! I took her over the summer and she was amazing. She made it easy to understand, explained everyting as many times as needed. I wish I could have taken math 75 with her. She allowed note cards for the tests, and did all she could to help everyone pass.

Probably one of the professor that helps and clarifies into simple words. Notes from lecture are useful so there shouldn't be a reason not to come. Exams are easy because it aren't complex and you can use notes. She's a nice lady that willing to help.

Amazing teacher! SO helpful and sweet. Would assess the level of the class every day and adjust accordingly. She gives very detailed, straightforward examples of each topic which helps immensely, and she actually made the class interesting! Take her class, you will love it.

Ms. McCarter was fantastic. After consistently failing tests from my previous stats class, with her I finished the class with an A! She makes everything so clear and really easy to understand. Attendance isn't mandatory but extremely helpful. Homework is due due every exam date so you have plenty of time to finish it. A true gem at DVC!

Due to her teaching I freaking mastered algebra. Due to her im taking calc right now; if u pay attention in her class and take notes u will easily pass the class and have very solid knowledge of algebra after you take this class. I have not till date had a math teacher who was so coherent as her; I still don't understand why she isn't full time?

She does not assign a lot of homework, and she lets you know what she expects from the beginning. She is a great teacher and I will look to take her math classes again in the future.

She's an astounding teacher! She's very patient and will make sure every student understands the material before moving on. Teaches you in a easy-to-follow system that I love! 5 quizzes, 1 final and 5 homework packets, which are due on the quiz date, but they are super simple to do. Flash cards (sometimes) allowed on quizzes. I HIGHLY recommend her

Take Professor McCarter if you struggle with math! she goes over everything step by step and is willing to help!!! I've taken her for two semesters and she has been super helpful! Attendance is not mandatory but if you miss a lecture then odds are you are going to miss a lot! As long as you pay attention in class and take notes you will be fine!

Great teacher. I have taken her for math 75 and now 90E. I did great in both classes thanks to her! She's an amazing teacher that really wants her students to learn. Prof McCarter is the first teacher that has gotten me to understand & enjoy math! I started with her in Math75, but I've also taken Math90 & intend on taking all future courses with her. She lays it out simply. HW is clear & tests are based off HW. Pay attention, do your HW, have a good 4x6 card for exams & you're bound to get an A.

i never pass in math before!!! with her, math for me was a puzzle with the colors she use in the board. i am chocked that i can understand math thanks to her. one quiz i forgot my calculate, guess what i got a C!! because of the colors she used make like a game for me. plus its open Note !!! what do you need more? i really recommend her !!!!! Ms. McCarter knows how to teach math. She's rare. If you are struggling in math, she is the teacher who can help you understand it. She walks you through every step of a problem and makes sure you understand how to do it. She goes over difficult test/hw problems in class and reviews after each lesson. One of best teachers at DVC. Took 75, 90, and 120 with McCarter. Amazing prof. Class is all lecture, except for at the end where she'll assign a problem and you complete it before leaving class. Grade is test heavy, but she completely reviews all material beforehand. I was horrible at math, but actually ended up enjoying all three semesters of the class. Trust me, take her.

Professor McCarter is an easy-going professor. She keeps her class very structured and easy to follow. As long as you show up for every exam day, you should pass easily. Class is not mandatory, but she has clear and well-written lectures that can be very useful.

I took math 75 and 120 with her the best teacher ever in the entire DVC. I was a person that never liked math but the way she was teaching would make you fell in love with Math. I really miss her and Now I took pre-calc with Lynn knight which is the worst and rude teacher ever I wish she start teaching calculus. She is a real gem and amazing woman.

If you struggle with math, Sarah is the perfect professor for you! She understands math anxiety and genuinely cares that you understand the learning material. Her lectures are informative & to the point, tests are open note, homework assignments have 3 attempts. She is honestly the best math teacher I have ever had.

I put off taking stats because I suck at Math and I've had horrible luck with math teachers. BUT Professor McCarter is amazing she makes math easy and I defiantly felt like I learned a lot. I'm almost done with spring semester and I know i'll pass with an A in the class. Seriously the easiest math class I've ever taken at dvc. The exams are exactly the same from the examples in the notes so you can just refer back to your notes on the exams. Open note and open book exam. Easy A. I have a 98% in the class with no effort. Professor McCarter is one of the best math teachers I have had. 100% would take her again. Lectures were all on youtube and were super easy to follow. If you take good notes you will pass the class. She lets you use notes on the test and most of the math is on the calculator. TI-83/84 calculator is required for the course. Super nice.

Best math teacher Ive ever had. She is very helpful and provides easy to understand lectures, highly recommend if math isnt your strong suit. She is 100% worth taking an 8 am class for. Tests are based on what you learn and its with a notecard. Actually cares for the students as well, I would take her class again. More teachers should be like her.

I would definitely recommend her as a professor and if I could have the opportunity to have her as my teacher again I most definitely would !

All her lectures are very easy to understand, homework is not difficult, and the tests are the homework problems with different numbers. You get open notes on the tests. Very easy class

Take this prof if you struggle with math! She is wonderful, explains things so clearly, and makes it very attainable to get an A. 5 midterm exams, 5 homeworks, an easy project, and a final. she drops the lowest exam score, so you have that to fall back on. She also posts the lectures to canvas if you miss class and is very helpful. 10/10 recommend

Best math teacher I ever had! Made the material easy to understand and attendance is mandatory for test days. All her lectures are posted online. She does use a textbook but I went to the library and rented the book and then scanned the pages needed. 2 problems minimum per section for homework, extra work is for practice and is optional.

If math is your weakest subject, take this professor. She made everything easy. Her lectures are clear and easy to follow. She allows notes (4x6) cards on exams and a 8x11 for final exam. Extremely kind and helpful. I did the homework, attended office hours, and I got an A. Borrow a TI-84 and rent the textbook from the library to save $$$

Professor McCarter is hands down the best math professor. She takes her time with the lesson and gives step by step example, and more if it doesn't make sense. She is incredibly nice and her exams are like her practice exams, just different numbers ( same with her final). And she also drops the lowest exam score. Definitely recommend taking her!

I struggle with math but she makes it understandable and she always offers extra help and worksheets for practice. Take her if you struggle with math.

Very good professor. Her class was really easy and straightforward. If you take notes during lecture, attend test reviews (write all of those examples on the notecards you get for the tests), and complete the homework, you are guaranteed an A or at LEAST a B. If you have to/want to take statistics, you should definitely take her.

hands down best prof i have ever had. i failed all of my math classes in high school and ended up getting a 100 on her final and a 97 in the class. she explains things so well and makes difficult topics easy to understand. the note cards help so much on the tests. there are no trick questions and she gives you all the info you need to know for test

IF YOU ARE BAD AT MATH TAKE THIS CLASS. and when i say bad at math i literally mean you failed all of your math courses in the past and cannot do any math problem to save your life. she is so caring and wants the best for you and your grade. she does not set you up for failure and actually provides all the info you need for tests. TAKE HER.

This class was soooo easy, homework was given but you only have to complete barely 10 problems and they're due on test days. The tests were EXACTLY I MEAN EXACTLY the same as the homework and in class practice problems. I showed up only on test review days and spent barely an hour a week for this class. Take this class is you want a EAST A.

The score of one test with the lowest score out of the five tests is dropped. If the average of the 4 exams before taking the final exam is high, the average exam score is scored by *0.75 even if the final exam is not taken. The test is not too difficult as it is almost the same as the example you solved in class.

Profesor McCarter is actually the best math teacher ever. Her lectures explain everything you need to know on the test. You get a full binder sheet of notes on exams front and back. She is so nice and caring. I was scared to take this course because I am still a highschooler, but this class is legit easier than Algebra 1 in highschool.

Great Professor, took her class for summer and even with the packed schedule and increased speed of the course she still made it very accessible and smooth. Attendance after the first day was not required but recommended. Very thorough and easy to understand lectures.

Taken Spring 2023. Graded Work: Divided into 5 midterm exams, 5 homework assignments, 1 final exam, and 1 final project. Textbook: Not really necessary as she provides handouts with the problems needed for the homework. Overall a really great teacher. She took the time to make sure every student understood what was being taught.

Took her in summer, GREAT at explaining how to do everything in detail. Allows 1-2 double sided pages of notes on exams, barely any homework (only 1-2 questions per textbook section and they're the same as the exams), if you need help you can ask her after class. Attendance not mandatory, you can skip if you copy notes or already know the material.

I really enjoyed this professor!!! Her lectures were very thorough and for the class I took she provided support. The two first tests were very easy while the third was a bit tougher and the last was definitely more difficult. The only thing I wish is that we used the unit circle instead of only calculators.

I had a very good experience with Professor McCarter. The tests were overall very good, though the final results were lower than I had expected. I ended up getting a 96.1% and learning a lot, she goes over many homework questions during class. Definitely recommend, though I wish we used the unit circle rather than only calculators.

She broke down all the chapters easily so it's impossible to fail her class! The first exam was easy! But the 2nd & 3rd exam was harder because it has probability. The last few exams were easier because it has hypothesis testing, super easy to pass!

Professor McCarter is a very good lecturer that doesn't cut any corners. Explains everything in depth. Her online videos for every chapter were great and enabled me to not go to class (lol). This class is very easy, Just know how to use your Ti-84. I found this class to be outdated as you should really be learning how to use excel to do this.

Only 5 exams and 5 homework assignments, so as long as you keep up with the textbook or attend the lectures, it'll be a breeze. She likes to make jokes during lectures, but she is very clear and understanding of the material. Prof. McCarter is also very helpful if you have any questions. Make sure to have a TI 84 for exams.

Very good lecturer, i am horrible at math and am writing this review 4/5th through the semester with a 92% just make sure to lock in and to do well on the first two tests because they are free points that you might need, she has 5 tests and 5 homework assignments, throwing out the lowest test score of all midterms. best prof ive had yet.

She was a great teacher. Her lectures were easy to follow, and her notes were helpful and easy to understand. She posts her lessons online, but It is better to go to the lectures. She gives a break in between lectures and is very nice. You can use notecards in the exams, and in the final you get a whole page (front and back).

TAKE HER CLASS!! Attendance not mandatory except first day. All lectures online and the textbook (online) is helpful to use too. Take her don't hesitate hands down the best professor I've had so far. Took her for summer math class she's absolutely amazing doesn't confuse you or trick you on exams teaches straight to the point. The best math professor you can have she's an amazing person kind and caring! If you can get into her class you're gonna do great and I suck at math.

I struggled with college math classes and usually feel the work is unnecessary in depth or homework heavy for a single class which results with me doing more work for math than all my other classes combined. This class is NOT that. Her teaching is simple and thorough. HW is simple if you attend class. I felt confident about each test! Perfect!

TAKE HER! I dropped another math class with a (W) because I felt like the professor was more concerned about tricking us on exams rather than teaching us the curriculum. Prof. McCarter on the other hand has ONE goal and that is to make sure you understand so that you can feel confident going into exams I suck at math and got and A. Lock in! 10/10

theGOATTTT! Never went to a single lecture but still passed (wouldn't recommend if you aren't good at self-direction and whatnot). This review is kind of brainrot but I can assure you, this Prof is NOT! Genuinely so caring and competent, even checked up on me and urged me to come to lecture (I didn't listen but I def would've gotten an A if i did!)
