easiest teacher for understanding mass media. definitely take her for this class. nice and fun too.

she rocked, hardly any work, and was funny and interesting, made the work we did do pretty fun oddly enough

Best Comm professor there is. If you want to learn a lot in the class you can push yourself and do the extras, but you get a lot out of even just going to class.

She is really funny and does not assign a lot of work. Sadly, I don't think that I have retained any information about the mass media, but at least it is enjoyable.

She is a great teacher who loves what she does. Vis Lit is a class where you get to explore parts of the city and see some thing you would have not othervise noticed. Great Teacher.

shes definitley awesome. i went to an SOC alumni event thanks to her and she introduced me to a lot of cool people. shes so energetic and is just generally a nice person. really understanding too. take her class! :)

Great professor, makes class interesting to attend and sit through

This class is so easy, we didn't do anything but watch film clips and do group presentations. I didn't really learn anything so it was kind of a waste, but she's a really nice woman and makes class fun. She brings food sometimes too.

Mass media class is pretty damn easy, and enjoyable. Visual Literacy is a little less fun but still easy. Menke-Fish is a great person who will invite you over for easter and bring you breakfast.

very easy course, but very interesting and insightful nonetheless. teaches a lot of things you wouldn't usually see. projects, sketches, maybe 1 exam, and a presentation or too. enjoyable learning at its best.

I never took notes. I only completed one assigment outside of class. I came to class totally unprepared for our only exam and still managed to receive a perfect score. I skipped the last 30 minutes of every class to eat. Got an A...you figure it out.

Who doesn't love Sarah Menke-Fish? So nice- always remembers you after your class is over and was not only a pretty easy grader but also understanding.

best professor I've ever had. doesn't matter if your a Comm major or an Anthropology major, take her courses and you'll have lots of fun.

SHE is the Best teacher i have had so fas. Everyone Loves her, she has not one enemy and she invited the whole class over for Thanksgiving. If you fail her class it was do to lazyness.

Her class is very engaging. Some days seem pointless, but I come out surprised that I still learned something. She makes everything fun and interesting. The first day of class was the best! It's something to look forward to. Def. laid back & easy if you're looking for that kinda class! Recommended!

Prof. Menke-Fish is a wonderful professor. She's very kind, helpful, and the subject is quite interesting.

Sweet, funny, and very perky, but not intellectually stimulating. You'll walk away with nothing more than an A and some pretty cool memories and opportunities as a Freshman - but those only matter if you're a COMM major. But take it for the donuts.

If you're looking for a class to slide though, not doing that much work, this is the class to take. Menke Fish is REALLY nice, but fails to push her students and be intellectually stimulating. BUT the class is fun, I got an easy A, and have a professor to give me good connections & reccomendations.

Cannot say enough good things about Menke-Fish. However don't do the Forum as your final project. It is significantly more work than everyone else's project.

Who doesn't love Professor Menke-Fish? One of the most student-devoted teachers at AU. The more you put into her class, the more you'll get out of it! Easy A.

She's a wonderful professor that really engages everyone. She'll be gone for Spring-06 but when she comes back do what you can to be in her class! You wont find a better, more caring professor!

Eh, not my type of teacher. The class mostly consists of long high-school-like discussions on things that I already talk to my friends about-commericials, the broadcast media, corporations, etc. I often felt like the money I was spending on the class was going to waste. Large grades in the class are also alloted for some tiny projects.

Very engaging and manages a large class extremely well. Lots of movies and group projects. Interesting discussions.

Took Understanding Mass Media with her. She's a cool professor and really energetic. It does not take much effort to pass her class and she canceled the final which was a big plus. You just watch videos and do presentations. It's a nice relaxing class.

Professor Menke-Fish is the best teacher I've had so fare in college. I really had fun in class and even those who weren't film majors seemed to have fun too. I heard she's even received awards for teaching. I give her an A++.

This is one of my favorite professors (and people) at AU. She deals with students as individuals, which is undeniably complicated in big classes. Her greatest fault is probably doing and caring TOO much. As long as you're willing to meet her halfway, you can absolutely benefit from that. I especially recommend her for smaller classes.

The movies make class go by quickly and her discussions are fun. But she WILL use you and dangle opportunities in front of you. Just don't put any faith in her or her "connections" and you'll be fine.

This was seriously the easiest class ever. All we did was watch old movie clips, old music videos, random/fun documentaries, etc. We had a few quizzes on some chapters, but only like 5 out of 25 chapters. She canceled our final b/c no one wanted to take it. Our projects were more fun than hard. Eaaaaaasy A.

It was an okay class. Group projects are not fun when it is tough for group to meet. Somewhat hard to get into a creative groove. Typically not a hard grader but inconsistent in getting grades back quickly. Some stuff in class interesting, some boring. It was a block which probably made it worse. Decent but not great professor. Same for course.

Menke-Fish, despite the wierd name, is really fun. Very enthusiastic, and hands-on. You learn a lot about making your own film, photo, design project. Few lectures, mostly projects, which are fun. HAS LOTS OF CONNECTIONS. She got me a job on the field at a Redskins/Steelers Monday Night game. She also likes field trips. Great class, great prof.

Very fun professor. Enthusiastic and energetic despite the early hour. She tries to get you excited and interested and it was a very interesting course. Fairly easy.

Probably one of my favorite classes. We got to go outside the classroom to field trips, museums. Very fun. Learned a lot. This class is a subject I was already into prior and held prior experience to some of the basics that we learned (photoshop, video editing, etc). Group members were hard to meet up sometimes though, which is my only gripe.

You'll get out of it as much (if not more) than you put into it. The woman will hook you up if you ask.

Some professors teach as a job just to pay bills, but she shares her passion and infuses it in her students. She knows her field and is one of the few professors that will try to help you outside of the classroom with networking. I'd highly recommend taking one of her courses, not just for an "easy" grade, but to learn from a great teacher.

She takes some getting used to as she's very energetic and can be a little vague on instructions, but once you do she's one of the best professors. Put the time and effort into her class, and you'll get a lot out of it.

Prof. Menke-Fish is by far the greatest professor I have had at AU so far. She is so committed to her students and classes and she shows it both in and outside of the classroom. She wants to see her students succeed, and pushes them beyond their comfort zone to teach them such exciting and interesting topics. If you have the chance, take her class!

I love Menke-Fish! She's so helpful and gives great feedback on projects. She's super energetic and loves teaching. She has great resources and can seriously hook you up with internships and projects outside of the university. Really flexible if you ask! Also, the textbooks for Vis Lit are in the course reserves, so no biggie if you can't buy them!

Menke-Fish is a terrific and inspiring professor. She truly cares about her students. Her enthusiasm and passion can be a little off-putting for some, as it was for me at first. Yet, as I got to know her, I realized that her positive energy is authentic and not forced at all.

Prof. Menke-Fish is an exceptionally nice and energetic human being. I was totally uninterested in the material, but I still found her class highly enjoyable because of her personality. She grades very leniently and directions on assignments are often unclear. But neither of these things ever negatively impacted anyone in my class.

Professor Menke-Fish has a lot of energy but she's a total sweetheart. Her class consists of a lot of tiny little projects and a final client project. Make sure to work hard on the client project and let your work on it really shine through. I would also recommend doing the re-dos for the little projects as they can really boost your grade.

She was the sweetest professor Ive had! Totally recommend her for public speaking!

Prof. Menke-Fish is so enthusiastic and caring. While it may be a lot to take in at first, it is really from a place in her heart. She really wants each student to become better over the course of the semester, and she broke up the class really well to make it feel smaller and more connected. She is truly a gem.

Professor Menke-Fish is phenomenal for this course. She has such palpable positive energy, and she genuinely cares about you succeeding in the class. Her enthusiasm is great. Although sometimes her energy can get a little overblown and drawn out, she means well by it. Overall, an amazing experience, great professor!

Sarah is hands-down the best professor at SOC. TV Studio gives you some of the most meaningful experiences for working in TV and every week was a blast. Few actual assignments - most of your grade is for working your jobs on set. Two really easy papers and a final highlight reel as well. Endless energy and enthusiasm. Can't recommend enough!

TAKE HER CLASS. My favorite class and professor this semester. So caring and kind while also pushing you to do your best work (but it wasn't a hard class as long as you do the work). No quizzes, all project based with clear feedback and you're able to revise. Spent most of the class working on a client project which was a great experience.

Prof. Fish is super kind and wants her students to learn. Attendance is mandatory, but her classes were engaging and were jam-packed. We did a client project that took up most of the semester and it was a great learning experience. If you want a resume builder - take 105

TAKE IT! Professor Menke-Fish is amazing and gives great feedback on everything. The class has a lot of work if you're invested in it, but it's all super fun (and easy!) Everything is project-based as well, so try your best and show her that, and you'll be totally fine for the semester.

I literally cannot say enough good things about prof menke-fish. she is the sweetest person ever and this internship class was a breeze. love her

I absolutely love her! Her class is very entertaining, and you have a lot of creative freedom with assignments. Sometimes we go on field trips in her class. We give many presentations, and the final is a particularly large one. If you are uncomfortable speaking in front of people, that is the only downside to this class.

Prof. Menke-Fish is not a normal professor in the best way possible! She's is eccentric for sure, but so caring and she goes above and beyond for all of her students. She sponsored a field trip for our class, gave us snacks, and above all fostered community. I met so many friends, and really grew to love my work. She even cried on the last day. 💜
