Sarah makes class fun. You definitely learn the material. She makes you work but there is a lot of time between assignments and she bends over backwards to make sure you know how to do it. She's very lively and finds material that's relevant.
Sarah is an AWESOME teacher. I will never forget how much she taught me about writing and LIT! If you want to learn how to write, then Sarah is the teacher for you.

I had Sarah for both 101 and 102. She isn't easy but she will work just as hard at getting you that "A" as you do. Very upbeat and fun for early morning classes! Loved her.
Great teacher, class is pretty fun and not complicated. The essays can be a bit tricky but the rest of the class is cake. You just read and write about what you read. It's an easy A if you do your work adequately.
I really enjoyed her class. It is tough, but she knows her stuff. An added bonus is she is entergetic and fun!
Easy teacher, if not an easy class. Uses WEBCT, and students would often feign confusion or computer problems to get out of work. Only 5/20 of us ever really worked. Still, enjoyable class over all, though the WEBCT was a hassel at times.
She is a fun teacher but her expectations on assignments are unclear. Her class is really beneficial to college students.Easy A if you do all the work
A very good teacher, she keeps the class lively, and has good time management. She is very willing to help you pass, if you put forth any effort at all. However, some of the requirements are somewhat unclear in the class. She does, however, explain things if you ask.
I liked her; she made going to class fun. She teaches very well, and just makes it interesting!
I didn't like her at all. She absolutely played favorites and she thinks she is infamous at Pima. If you question her about anything she gets very diffensive. She was terribly, terribly, unorganized. Half the time she obviously had no idea what she was going to teach that day. I would never take her for another class.
She was a good teacher but the papers in the class were hard on the last two she did not give good directions and did not clarify when asked about it. But over all nice and she is a morning person.
Sarah Is no pushover. She won't just let you pass the class, so you actually have to learn how to write. She grades tough, but it really helps you learn about the areas where you need improvement. This class helped prepare me for my higher level writing classes. There was no textbook for her class either! Everything was online, which was cool.
Good teacher, but a hard grader
The teacher was able to help anyone in need of help. She took the time to make sure that everyone understood the topics.
Sarah has been a great teacher. She has taught me many things about grammer. Also she used many sites to help with our writing. She could probably teach the students how to place comments in the peer-review on turnitin. Because I didn't get a lot of comments on my paper or what area a student was talking about. Overall I would recommend her for WRT
Sarah was a great teacher! It was a very short summer class, but I had a lot of fun and I leanred a lot as well. God blessed Sarah O'Hara with beign a good teacher.
She is helpful and bubbly, almost unbearably good-natured at first but it'll soften you up. She tries to keep things fun and interesting, she did make the effort to engage all studenets. She seems a little bit over fascinated by internet technology, and her effto keep things fun and exciting sometimes left me wishing that we just wrote more often.
Sarah was very helpful, probably one of the most helpful teachers I've ever had. She was patient and kind and has a great personality. I think all of these traits are important to being a great teacher. I liked that she graded hard because it helped me understand where I needed to improve in my writing. Great teacher overall!
keep this in mind students, KEEP UP WITH HER!
The course was Difficult but rewarding.
Sarah was a great teacher! She made the class fun and there was no book to buy! I will be signing up for her 102 class next semester!
Sarah made getting back into school after being gone for so long a great experience. Thank you Sarah!
Sarah has molded my writing skills. She is a great instructor who is beneficial to learn from.
Prepare yourself for numerous personality tests, and what is called the gold sheet *cringes*.
This is the best professor that I have ever had a Pima! She has teaching down to a science!!!! I have learned alot from this class. I took it as a summer accelerated class! I loved this format! You want to take Writing and get it over with fast---take this one! I I learned so much-especially about commas placement & argument essay writing.
Very good instructor. Explains each assignment clearly and gives adequate time to complete. Takes you step by step in how to write a good paper. Gives prompt grading and feedback
Fabulous teacher! Guided us through every step of the way and is very helpful. Love the class and would recommend Sarah to everyone!
The best English teacher I have ever had. Very helpful and clear. I enjoyed and learned a lots from this class. I recommend it for all and especially for students who are not native English speakers.
I am shocked with all the good reviews.Sarah may be informative but she is very HARD!It got old watching her play favorites in class. If she did not like you it was very apparent. She made a comment in class she only believes a low % of students should receive A's.I believe this accurate. She grades at a very DIFFICULT level.Only benefit is Ex credit
This professor knows how to teach! She is so effective and this is truly her passion. This is a quality class! If you want to learn about writing take this class. You save paper and ink in this class. All the homework is done on line in turnitin.com
This instructor is SO annoying! I had to take her for 102. Now that I go to the U of A, I feel nothing that she taught applies. She is way to concerned about having you write about and anaylize songs and inserting pictures in your essays which is complete uselessness.
I LOVE this teacher and would recommend her and LIT 261 to anyone! It does take some effort to do well in her class but she is amazing! She is also willing to help you with anything and she is extremely friendly. This class was mostly student taught but she was there to push us all in the right direction!
This class was mostly student taught and not enjoyable. She was very disorganized and graded rather randomly. She marked off points on assignments when she didn't give clear instructions. The project/presentation was outrageous and I would not recommend this class to anyone.
she's an ok teacher! her class is somewhat easy.. her grading skill tend to be a little hard.. just a little bit though! as longest you turn in your homework and essays you could get an easy A.. no tests!! final is essay
The professor was super nice and helpful. She was an amazing teacher, and I actually had a lot of fun taking this class. I hate writing with a passion and Ms. O'Hara made me enjoy this class. :D
I liked the up-beat personality O'hara has. She made the class very enjoyable.
Very fun and interactie class. Learned a lot and will take a lot from the course.
Good Job
This class was fun. Sara O Hara was very helpful with clear instructions along the way. She is the best teacher I have had thus far, I would definitley recommend her.
i have no comments
Really amazing class! Not your typical Wrt course, she makes it really fun! NO FINAL AND NO TEXT!
I really like this professor. She really cares about her students. I passed her class with an A, and i still email her asking for writing hw in other classes. And she replys within a day or two. Very clear on her material. I learned more from her than other teacher. Her HW is a little tough. But totally worth it. Awesome teacher.
Teacher was very helpful in class. Wrote some papers but teacher was always in the library to help us out with the papers. It helped to make me fell confident about my papers. Would recommend this class to anyone looking to take this teachers class. I had a lot of fun. Even though class was at 7 in the morning
I had an unfortunate hospitalization while I was in this class and she was very accommodating and even came to see me in the hospital. :) Make sure you do all of the discussions assigned, they are not that difficult and they help to pump up your grade!
She is a really good teacher but has an attitude from mississippi. There are times she can be fun and there are times she can be rude. Take your chances and hope she picks you as her favorite.
Very helpful and personable. Responds to email quickly. Takes class through essays with specific prompts... Almost "fill-in-the-blank". If u follow instructions u will get good grade. Extremely accommodating to disabilities! Will work with u to solve any issues. weird with wanting lots of graphics included. NO expensive TEXTBOOK! $100+ saved!
This teacher is very good. The class with her is very interesting and she makes me feel comfortable with all the assignments. It is a perfect teacher for me.
Professor O'hara is a lot of fun to work with. The work is challenging, and I learned a lot. Sarah was always willing to help and encouraged us to use the tutoring center if we had difficulty with our work.
Had to withdraw because I took too many credits to keep up with all of the work for her class. Was given little to no inclination as to how many points assignments were worth prior to grading. Other than that, she is a great teacher and gave me a lot of leeway when I was falling behind because of my course load. Recommend, but DO NOT fall behind.
Sarah is one of the best teachers I have ever taken. She is fun, and is very involved with her students. I would definitely recommend her.
She's a good teacher, engages with students but for the love of god her hybrid class was the most unorganized, confusing thing.Due dates never posted, never clear about what was due when and what was expected of us. Would not recommend for hybrid class, but good teacher overall.
Do not under any circumstances take her hybrid class Very unclear about due dates Her class website dates, syllabus dates, and TurnItIn dates do not match up at all. Sincerely a nice woman but her feedbacks on essays are on the verge of taunting unclear on what she expected, I understand this is college but still communicate with your students
I took her Hybrid class and it was super confusing. I think this was her first year actually teaching a hybrid class because of how unorganized it was. Definitely affected my grade. She seems like a decent teacher however if you plan on taking her class, DO NOT take the hybrid class. Also can be heavy on workload and hard grader.
I spent several long hours working through an essay to get a 58% while one that was still a rough draft was a 50%. Something is wrong here.
Extremely unclear about assignments. Especially essays. Will look over your paper and say everything looks good then mark you completely wrong and put some somewhat rude comments AFTER you've turned in the final draft. Do NOT recommend you take her class.
She is genuinely a nice person but overall very confusing. I took her class in an actual classroom, as opposed to the hybrid. I WOULD NOT recommend her as a teacher because she is very unclear as to what is due, and when it's due. Also, her feedback is useless on essays. I watched my buddy get a 58% on an essay she said was worth a B or better.
Worst english teacher I've ever had. Very unclear about what she wants in essays and with projects in general. Feedback she gives on essays is absolutely useless and can't be used to improve. Don't recommend this class whatsoever
Due dates on her personal websites very jumbled. Brutal grader when it comes to essays however discussion questions easy DO THEM! Sweet lady, but very stern on her grading when it comes to essays. took the hybrid class if you are looking for an easy a DONT DO IT!
Sara was an amazing teacher. She knows what she is talking about and has been doing this for a very long time. The class WA very enjoyable, and she makes you want to come to class every day. I would recommend taking this class with her.
She was very sweet. Her class was the first college class I took. It was fun and informative. I would recommend taking her class.
She is such an awesome teacher! Super helpful and gives you the needed feedback to fix your mistakes.
I loved having Mrs. O'Hara! She clearly outlines her expectations in the syllabus and follows them exactly. There are three essays, but she guides you through them. This is not a difficult class, and I know I've become a better writer from taking it. Plus- you don't have to buy a textbook!!
She makes you work hard!!! shes really strict! But if she can help you she will...
She teaches lectures really good! And she gives very good feedback on papers or assignments! I would take her again if I could!
Unclear assignments, little to no feedback, and not at all helpful. I would never take a class from this teacher in my whole entire life.
Sarah is such an amazing teacher! It is obviously a writing intensive class, but she always provides ample explanations, examples, and time to review your papers with you. I am not particularly fond of modern literatureanalysis, but she always made class very interesting by asking thought-provoking questions. Also, no textbook was used .
Sarah really makes her class interesting; I enjoyed a lot of the content. She's a tough grader, but is willing to talk to students who think their grade is unfair. She can be slightly abrasive sometimes, and on occasion her directions when it came to homework weren't clear. Overall, however, she's a good writing teacher and her class was enjoyable
I absolutely adore Sarah, she made writing 102 fun for me, She does give good feedback which lets me know that she is reading my work. Her assignments are fun and her class is never a dull moment. I would highly recommend her for your writing class. I wish I knew about her when I took wrt 101.
Sarah is wonderful. Highly recommend her 101 Class. I can't wait for her 102 class to begin. I don't know of many teachers that will go above and beyond the way she does. If you need help, she is ALWAYS there to offer feed back, extra credit, and a friendly smile. You can almost always find her in the tutoring lab (in the library) after class.
this class was fun
Sarah O'Hara was the best writing 101 teach you could ask for. She gives you lots of feedback and truly cares to see her students do well. She is always around to help you. She gives hard work but it is so worth it. I would recommend Sarah to anybody.
Class is fairly easy with only two essays due for the whole semester. She is also a genuinely nice person. However, be prepared for a left wing indoctrination class. Write a paper about the importance of alternative feminist dance therapy in modern society and you're guaranteed an A.
This class is honestly pretty fun. This lady gives interesting topics that are fun and easy to write about. As long as you do the work and ask for help if you need it you'll do great!
Uhh? Currently in her 101 class. She's very nice. I just wrote a very obvious right leaning paper and received an A and maintain an A in the class. If you got a bad grade, don't blame politics. Beware of morons on this board.
Sarah is amazing. She gives you plenty of information to help you through the class. I found her to be a fair and wonderful instructor. Sarah will go above and beyond other teachers that I have had in the past. She is readily available in the library or through email. Taking her classes are the best thing I have done for myself.
She is a fantastic writing teacher. She used quite a lot of techniques when teaching, and made sure what she wants in your essay. She always encourages you on your writings and willing to help. However, she's a tough grader but don't worry to much because she also provides many extra credits. If you fail her class, it's indeed your fault.
Super cool and fun teacher. She gives a lot of essay assignments but a lot of the work is done in class and very minimal homework. Quizzes are super easy and I would definitely take her class again!
She's a really sweet person, and if you struggle in your writing go ask her for help. She'll help you for sure! I had absolutely fun in the class way better then my previous teacher.
Be prepared for a lot of work. She gives 2 hours reading with a 200 word discussion due at the beginning of most classes. The essay's are boring to write about and if you don't do the readings and take notes you're kinda screwed. I would not take her again.
Sara is nice but if you don't ask her for approval on your essays from the title to all the paragraphs you will not pass. She is super picky and will even go as far as choosing the title of your paper for you. She is available for feedback and gives you a lot of time to work on the essays. super easy class as long as you let her hold your hand.
If you don't do your homework and submit your projects on time, expect to fail that part. She does a month-long argumentative essay, be prepared for thesis statements, a lot of research and to do a presentation on your paper. Right after that you have an expository essay. Her class starts out fun but becomes a bit tedious.
She is so annoying honestly. Her assignments are boring. All she talks about is the Hero's journey and Hemingway. You can never write in your own style. She is so strict with the way she wants you to write a paper that it won't even sound like you wrote it. She is really tough with grading. She also lectured about God and it made me uncomfortable.
She's an amazing teacher. Very well organized; I mess with her
One of the best instructors I've had a Pima. She is laid back and is willing to give extra credit. You get out of it what you put into it.
It's a writing class, not reading/writing about feminist issues/exploitation of women, and liberal politics. We should be writing stories and poems on topics of our choice-not her liberal agenda. If I wanted to study these topics, I would've than those classes. I am one of many conservatives and she censors our writing to her liking.
I took her writing 101 course. i extremely enjoyed taking her class. it has helped my so much as a writer. her feedback and grading scale is defiantly tough but makes my work come out better in the end. if i could i would take another course taught by her.
Great teacher would definitely recommencement. Eng 101 was really fun and felt like I really learned a lot.
Sarah is great and easy going. She's very caring and understanding and will push you to what you are capable of. Come to class to work and do the assignments and it will pay off for an A.
Sarah is good writing teacher, she explains how to write essays that will convince and grab the reader's attention.
Assignments are essay and its not difficult. The only way to fail this class is by not coming. She is very fun and gives a great atmosphere. She also allows extra credit by community service. I would have her again.
Sarah is very nice and is always willing to help in any way she can.
She is a fair grader and cares about all of her students.
If you enjoy writing stories about feminism and the salvation of god as well as Adam and Eve, and original sin, this is the class for you! You dont write stories you writes research papers and you dont get to choose. Super tough grader, she will say your essay is in good shape and then randomly give you 50% on a rough draft!
Class is just feminism and and liberal trash that she MAKES you learn. You dont get to write about what you want to or your style. She is a very strict grader even though she says she doesnt. Will not take this professor again. And if you dont do the homework, she will call you out in front of everyone to embarrass you. Class is horrible
She is a hard grader. There is also a lot of different pieces you will read. If you can write good essays with good content than this class is for you.
This was my first-ever college class, taken when I was 16 and mildly terrified. Sarah's warm and bubbly personality put me at ease. She really wants her students to succeed in both her class and college in general. She would go out of her way to be helpful and give feedback. A great choice of teacher, especially for new students.
you must be a femenist and a liberal to pass the class, i had a 95% in the class and somehow in the last week she curved my grade and failed me.
I will admit, she isn't an easy grader. However, she gives so much extra credit and if you do the discussion posts everytime you'll be fine. Her papers are what gets people if she sees you are TRYING on your papers you won't need to worry. But if you doing it last minute she can tell and your grade will reflect it. Trust me.
Sarah was a great writing instructor. She gives out generous amounts of extra credit during the beginning of the semester(take advantage of this). If you show up to class, participate, and really put the work in on the major papers there should be no problem passing this class. She is quite funny too!
I've seen ratings on her being a "feminazi" and people saying it in class. She may be a feminist but in no way is she forcing that perspective on students. If you pay attention to the stories and do the work you'll get a good grade. She is a fair grader and gets the class engaged with the topic and with other students and makes class interesting.
If I could give her a 0, I would. I hated this class. She's all about feminism and that is all you will ever talk or write about. If you want to write about something she doesn't agree with she won't allow it. When you ask questions she rushes your question, dismisses you, or will half-a$$ answer them. DONT take this class if you have a choice.
Great professor so far one of my favorite teachers at Pima. She gives extra credit which helps and she is well organized.
One of the worst Pima professors I have ever had. She is a feminist, and this really disrupts the flow of the course. She has to approve all of your papers so be prepared to skim down what you want to write about. Also, you will have to read a lot of stories for a writing class. Do not take her!!
Sarah O'Hara is an intelligent, open-minded, and kind teacher with a talent for highlighting her students' strengths. She is willing to work with every student to help them achieve their goals, and if you put in the time you will succeed. She is personable and easy to talk to, and she also gives extra credit.
Great teacher, perhaps one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. Honestly she is a great professor, take her for all your English classes. You will not be disappointed. She cares, shes real, and hella funny. Just take my word random person, if you don't like her class you did something wrong.
Ms. O'Hara, Thank you for your understanding, patience, and generosity. You have been an amazing teacher throughout the entire course. You teach with confidence, strict when need be, and overall you generally care for all your students and their successes. You are an Angel in human form. Thank you. -Ashley Arberry
Sarah is amazing! One of the best professors Ive ever had. She is super friendly and very understanding. The assignments in her class are not very hard at all if you put in the effort. I looked forward to going to her class, her lectures were all pretty interesting, and she actually cared about all of her students.
Sarah is truly invested in the success of each of her students. If you put in the work, she will not let you fail. The workload is reasonable and there's almost always an opportunity for extra credit. Regardless of her political beliefs, she loves to have open-minded discussions, and will not treat/grade you differently if you don't agree with her.
I would not recommend taking her unless you are a hardcore liberal feminist!!! Everything in her class is about politics and gets annoying whether you are on the right side or left side its flat out annoying. She grades hard and makes you read mostly about feminist things and from feminist authors avoid taking this class if possible!
She really helps you to take a deeper meaning into stories/writings. Very nice and really wants you to succeed.
Sarah is a wonderful teacher, she cares about her students. She wants them to be successful and to be more confident in their writing.
I am not too sure exactly on the grade that I received for the class but I do believe it was around to C. My response to my professor this semester, is that she was extremely professional, very thorough, extremely caring, and showed enormous support for students.
Sarah is very understanding and helpful!
Professor O'Hara is an awesome instructor! She had us really dive into various materials with specific goals as we dove. In the end, I learned so much! I even learned to like the outlining process.
My favorite professor of all time!
Ms. O'Hara was a great instructor for this course. She was always available to help during her regular online office hours and was willing to schedule zoom meeting almost any time I needed assistance. You do have to work for this grade, but if you need help, she is very good at working with you. I will be taking WRT 102 from her this spring.
She was a fantastic teacher and guide! 100% recommend. With the virus keeping us at home the discussions were still enjoyable. Even though I am not normally used to talking so much in a class period, I definitely came around after the first few weeks of class. She has us write about things outside of the norm which never made writing boring.
Ms. O'Hara is a great professor! She tells you exactly what you need to fix and sometimes how. The only issue I had was when she graded one of my assignments incorrectly, never fixed it, and then when I asked about it again she still didn't change it because ,"I already had an 'A'." Which is fair, but it would have made me feel better about myself.
Professor O'Hara was too sweet! She is always willing to help students and constantly giving us resources for our papers. 10/10 :)
I cannot say enough good things about Sarah. There is a fair bit of homework but as long as you do the work its an easy A. She is easy going, responds to emails, and her class is genuinely fun. Be prepared to talk to other students. The papers aren't too hard and she is a lax grader. I will be taking her again for 102 next semester.
If you are new to college-level writing, Sarah's WRT 101 class is a great starter! I had taken a WRT 101 class before but had some trouble, however Sarah made it really easy to get through. There are three major essays that you will write and she helps you get through all of the requirements so long you put the work in. I would really recommend!
Extremely tough grader. Quite insensitive if you are struggling, so don't expect her to cut you some slack when you are having a rough time. Heavy papers. Just don't take this class
I really enjoyed Sarah during 101, but during 102 there were a few differences in how the class ran. I was disappointed in my final grade, and there were only a few things in the grade book so make sure you don't miss any assignments. Overall Sarah is a good teacher and the assignments were fun, my only criticism is that she can be harsh at times.
