She was very enthusiastic about the topic, always on schedule with the syllabus and organized. She also posts helpful things online and is very helpful. Overall she was a great professor and made the class more interesting. I would definetly take her class again and would recommend her.
Fair teacher that makes class fun and interesting. I will be taking every class I can with this professor.
Overall a really easy class. The only way you won't pass is if you never show up and never do a bit of reading. The books she had us read were really cheap. I didn't show up to class a total of 5 or 6 times probably and still got an A+ on midterm and an A on the final. It's easy! And she's super nice, very well organized & cares about her students
Professor Seekatz is a good professor. I took History 2A with her in the Spring 2016 semester and her lectures are really good . Attendance is important to passing and so is doing the weekly readings outlined in the syllabus. Other things are important such as papers and the exams.
Seekatz is great her lectures are full of interesting information that focus on the course of events rather than boring lists of dates. The things she talks about during her lectures are often funny and punctuated with a slide show that outlines the subject but doesn't hand over any notes. This was a class I looked forward to.
Energetic teacher, sometimes funny. Lecture/powerpoints everyday, notes are important. Book isn't used, but instead online readings (must read for random quizzes). 2 essays analyzing the readings. Show up and pay attention and it should be easy. Gives important names/topics in her lectures for exams (which are easy, multiple choice, matching, etc.)
Solid choice for 17b. Her lectures are pretty straight forward, but if you take her for a hybrid class like i did, get ready to devout some time to the lectures. they are all lengthy reads and most include 20-90 minutes of videos. Her test are really easy though
Her power points do not have any words and just show pictures, so you have to listen to her while you take notes. I like this style of teaching and you need to make sure to read the modules every week since there are pop quizzes that add up to a lot of points. Pretty much a take notes and take tests class.
Her lectures we're very easy to understand. Mostly class lectures but she added some class activities here are there. The only homework assignments were module readings and two essays. The pop quizzes are on the readings. She often says funny things during the lectures so they do not get too dry.
Dr. Seekatz is an extraordinary professor, you can tell she genuinely cares about each of her students and also the subject matter she teaches. All her lectures were quite captivating and as long as you took good notes and read the primary sources she provides you'd do well in the class, reading the book was not mandatory. Amazing class.
Dr. Seekatz is such a phenomenal professor. She made the class so enjoyable & she's very passionate in what she teaches. The class consisted of 5 pop quizzes, 1 midterm, 2 essays, and the final. Her style of teaching is lecture based so it's important to attend every class. Best class i've ever taken at delta so far! 10/10 recommend History 31!!
Loved her class, but yeah be prepared for pop quizzes as well as lectures because her class is heavily lecture based. You hardly don't even need to read the main book if you follow the lectures. I do recommend reading the book however, because not everything is covered in lectures, Also read the books for pop quizzes(that's the only way).
Loved professor Seekatz, just show up every day do the readings and you'll pass.
Her lectures are not boring at all, she explains everything in an interesting way. Her exams have exactly what she said in lecture, nothing new, no trick questions! Therefore, attend class and write everything down. She gives pop quizzes, in which you have to write a paragraph answering one/two easy questions about a reading (very interesting ones)
You will need both books, although I used the sources of world societies more than the actual textbook. Her modules actually cover just about everything that you need to know for the chapter quiz (10quest.). Gives great feedback and at least two days to do each assignment. Not an easy A, but not too difficult. Does offer some extra credit too.
Took the online class during summer, which I recommend if you want a summer class that wont be hard. Multiple choice quizzes, reading analysis every other day, one research paper, final and mid term are multiple choice with one essay question each. Understanding MLA format, and citing are important. Will work for grade, but overall easy and fun.
Dr. Seekatz was an awesome professor. She gives clear instructions and makes her expectations very clear. The reading modules were sometimes tedious, but she has a passion for history that is evident in her lectures.
she treats her students like little kids and tries too hard to be funny.
It's a lot of note taking and reading. Overall an amazing teacher.
I love her class so much. She is straight forward about everything she expects from her students and her lectures are fun and very entertaining. I cannot recommend her enough.
Can be passionate with her lectures. But when I email her nicely in correct polite grammar she replies sarcastically. Such as "I mentioned this plenty of times in class were you not there? Please see this folder in the syllabus" She also tries to act like she fits in with the young group by making silly references that take her off topic.
Wish I didnt take her her class. Truly cringy lectures with her adding cuss words to enhance her lecture and "make it interesting." Annoying pop quizzes. Class is EASY, but her style is like a high school class - group work, analyzing photos, and cringy lectures. Just get to the point I only go to class to get notes from her lectures
She has a passion for history that is evident in her lectures. Exams are easy if you familiarize yourself with the key terms. You definitely need to do the assigned reading because she gives pop quizzes (most were not surprise quizzes). She really tries to help everyone pass the class (xtra credit and sometimes notes for quizzes).
One of my favorite professors at Delta! Dr. Seekatz, PhD. is passionate during lectures and shows that she cares about her students. The syllabus clearly outlines how the class is set up and concrete deadlines helped me to stay on track. She took the time to connect me to services on campus that I did not know existed. Definitely worth taking!
Awesome professor. Super passionate and inspirational in class. First history class I actually enjoyed because she made it interesting and real. Note taking is important because her slides are mostly pictures so it is key to come to class. She is great, definitely reccomend.
Amazing lectures but everyday is essential to give you good notes for your midterm/final. Powerpoints - only images. Use the keywords provided online in depth for better note taking so that you aren't taking notes on a bunch of excess things! 5 Pop quizzes on mini articles in a book & Extra credit (actual assignments not just attending programs)
Enjoyed learning about Mexican history. Dr. Seekatz is a great teacher and was clear about what she was expecting from us. Syllabus was clear from the beginning on what we needed to do in order to pass. Midterm, final, research paper, and 5 quizzes. Quizzes are easy and the Professor provides key words which will help you to study for tests.
Let me tell you about this teacher, she is freaking bomb. I took her Mexican American history class this past semester and it was so freaking interesting. She does such a good job at making the class interesting. She's very clear about what she's expecting from you at the beginning . Go to class. Print out the study guides. & you'll pass no problem
I dont feel she does a good job for people who are visual learners. Her slides are just pictures and if you need to see the words she is saying dont take her. Shes very nice but taking notes is difficult because she talks so fast. Would not recommend her. There are no study guides just papers with the terminology and I feel that doesnt help study.
She does a good job preparing students for college. Provides lots of feedback and you can tell that she cares about her students. Is passionate about Mexican history. Class does have a number of pop quizzes (based on homework readings), midterm, final and two papers. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Highly recommend taking her.
I do NOT recommend this class. She is a very rough grader. All the assignments you are given are 5 pop quizzes, two essays, 1 midterm, and a final. You have a lot of reading to do. The quizzes are all based on the readings. If you fail your quizzes, you most likely won't pass the class. Classes feel long, and boring. She tries to hard to be funny.
I thought that Dr. Seekatz did a great job and clearly lays out her expectations. Serious students, as in those who attend the class and are on top of their assignments, will have no problem. People will always whine, but do the readings (it is your homework) and show up and you will be fine. Lots of extra credit. This is college people, grow up!
Great professor who cares about her students. Expectations are set at the beginning of class. As others have said does not put words on powerpoint, which forced me to learn how to take notes. Lots of extra credit opportunities, like 10% of your grade. Leaves feedback on two main papers and is available in office hours. Would take her class again.
Enjoyed taking her class. Would take her again.
Took her class and she seems likes a nice lady. But she is a really tough grader and since she has a big classroom she can't take time to go over things. Her pop quizzes aren't hard but her tests are. You have to study a lot. Tries to act nice but I don't know if she is or not.
Skipped alot of class and got a B. No hw at all, but your grade relies on a few things that you must do good on to pass: 2 papers, 2 exams, 5 pop quizzes. No study guide, you will need to read and study notes to pass quizzes/exams. Overall, an easy A/B if you give your best and study for the very few things she makes you do throughout the semester.
Great professor. Graded on a number of assignments including midterm, final, 2 papers, 5 quizzes, and attendance. Lots of extra credit. Key to passing is doing the readings every week and take notes since you can use them during the reading quizzes. Would take her again.
Fun class and professor. Attendance and reading are crucial to passing the class. Always was available to answer questions in office hours and by email. Highly recommend taking her class.
Had to take this class to graduate. Overall it was a good class and you had to work for your grade. A lot of people hated the quizzes but it was an easy 150 point if you did the reading. Midterm and final are multiple choice, fill in blank and essay. Uses free textbook, so saves you $60.
Great proffesor Really does care about her students. She is very easy to get a hold of when you are struggling in the class on those papers Very helpful teacher Really nice.
Professor Seekatz was honest from the start about what it took to pass her class. Her syllabus and course calendar tells you all you need to know and her class was only mildly challenging while still helping you learn a lot. There were about 2 essays, 5 quizzes, and lots of extra credit. No surprises just show up, take notes, and be ready to learn!
Took her class during the summer. A lot of reading and assignments but that is too be expected since it is a Summer class. Used a free textbook so no cost to buy a book. Provides good feedback on assignments, sometimes even just to say good job. Extra credit opportunities, which you do not usually find in an online class. Would take again.
Awesome online class. Great professor and would take again.
I took Professor Seekatz this summer & highly recommend either not taking the class over summer, or if you are going to, make sure it's your only class. This was the hardest class I've ever taken. 15+ discussions, 30+ quizzes, term paper, midterm/final. Very tough grader & will report you for plagiarism/incorrect source citing.. Tough class.
This is my second class with Dr. Seekatz. Yes, its summer, but she makes you earn your grade. Her modules are good and the assignments are easy. No textbook required. She was there every step of the way and while it was not the easiest class, I got a B and I felt like she was actually teaching and not just invisible.
Professor Seekatz explains her lectures in the same way as you listen an amazing adventure from your grandparents. Pay attention and write notes on the list of topics she gives you online. Doubts?? ask during or after class. Even, she is willing to review your essays prior to submit and gives you excellent advise. No homework just read. THE BEST!!
Great class with lots of extra credit. You have to attend classes since there are quizes based on the reading. Would take again.
Eh, I did not like her whatsoever. She isn't the worst, but I do not recommend. If you hate reading, this is not the professor to choose.
She is a great teacher. She does expect a lot from her students when it comes to papers. The midterm was easy. Quizes are based on weekly readings and some are open note or book. Will provide feedback on things. Very passionate when it comes to Mex history and inspiring. Provides extra credit. Would take again.
Professor Seekatz cares she is a great Professor show up to class, take notes and study and you will pass. Ask questions she is great to answer them. For her office hours shes available as well. If you need help ask. We need professors like her caring and actually cares Delta great job she wants her students to be successful.
Make sure you read the passages she assigns every week cuz you never know when she's going to quiz you on it. I have never found US History to be interesting until her class. She expanded on the stories of the oppressed as well as the winners. You really see the passion she has for the Latin and Native American cultures.
Overall she is a very good professor. Gives great notes but it is vital that you pay attention! She is the type of professor that only has pictures for slides and the rest is her speaking. There is a lot of group participation because she wants students to get to know eachother.
Great class with a good teacher. Read the book and do the assignments and you will pass. Allows extra credit.
One of my favorite classes. Dr. Seekatz is the best.
Great professor. You must attend class so you can take notes. There are 2 papers due through out the course. The midterm and final are pretty easy as well as long as you have been paying attention in class. Plenty of pop quizzes but she allows you to use index cards on them.
Dr. Seekatz was a great professor to have over the summer. Class does move quickly but it is summer time. She lays out the assignments well in advance. Quizzes, discussions, midterm, final, and a paper. Highy recommend.
Professor Seekatz is literally SO COOL. I was hesitant to take her class at first because of these replies, but her class is actually fun and she makes it interesting! Not hard at all, just do your work and actually pay attention. Taking two classes during SUMMER and I had over 100% in both of them! Please take her class, you won't regret it.
Took Dr. Seekatz over the summer online. The class moved very quickly with various chapters online each week with quizzes. Midterm was not that hard and quize were easy. Cares a lot about plagiarism so make sure you are not copying other people website. One of my favorite teachers at delta.
Aw some class. Goes really fast in the summer. Professor provides good feedback. Make sure to do the extra credit to boost grade.
I have taken this class as an online course and I wish I would have done it in person so I could meet her. She was not hard at all (in my opinion) as long as you read the lecture and take notes! It should be an easy A if you pay attention whether if it's the online course or not. You do learn a lot in this class, I would totally take it again!
Its an easy A class but she does not teach well. I had to teach myself through reading the books while she just talks about pictures on her lectures. Be ready for pop quizzes.
anybody going to take her class expect to have quiz like a lot lots of reading and expects to have like 3 assignments that are like essays and also do not expect her to let you make up any assignment . also you will be do an extremely amount of thinking so think about it.
One of my favorite classes. Great teacher. She does give pop quizzes, but she drops the lowest score. Quizzes are not that hard and are open book. Midterm, final, 2 papers, 6 quizes, extra credit, and attendance
I really enjoyed professor Seekatz class. She explains everything she teaches very well and her lectures are always very interesting. I actually looked forward going to her class because I always learned something new. Essays are easy, if you read you'll do well on the pop quizzes, and Seekatz does offer extra credit which helps a lot!
If English is not your strongest subject you should look for another professor for this course. This course is not lecture heavy however when it comes to grading she grades harder than any English professor I ever had even though this is a history class its more intense than an English class.
Overrated professor, was full of herself from day one and grades assignments tougher than an English teacher as previous reviews suggest and also responds to emails sarcastically. Material was quite boring.
I enjoyed this class a lot and learned a lot as well. After each module, you have to do a quiz and a brief essay. Easy and clear grading. You do need to put and effort to do all activities but overall is not a hard class. Prof. Seekatz gives a good feedback on essays but she is a tough grader.
I took this class online while also attending another college. Her class was great and I learned a lot. Some people think that she is expecting too much. But I can say that Professor Seekatz expects as much as my other professors. Online modules were easy to follow and textbook/reader is free online. Would recommend highly.
Good online class. The lectures were easy to follow and test were straightforward. I enjoyed the class.
I will agree with others here to an extent, she is a meticulous grader, but there is no clear rhyme or reason, certain discussions and assignments i'd find 2 or 3 points taken off. She grades the term paper strictly and is very adamant about sourcing, this class is by no means a free A, you have to put in work, she offers a minimum of 20pts extra
I thought that she was a good teacher. I don't think she is any easier or harder than any of my other teachers at Delta. I found that if you follow her instructions and ask for help when needed you will do fine.
Great class and I learned a lot. Would take again if I could.
Probably one of the worst history delta professors I have ever taken. She is so nitpicky and oh god if i have to hear her say "I don't accept late work" one more time I might have to jump off a cliff. We GET IT you don't care that people have lives that are busy! just say it once and move on.
Great teacher and a good class. You do weekly readings and small homework things. It was online and I wanted to take in person, but it was still a good class.
I really enjoyed this class even though I was scared to take internet classes. Make sure you do your homework on time and read the classwork and you will pass.
This is my second class with her but the other class was on campus. She has interesting lectures and does not assign too much homework. She used a free textbook that was online so I did not have to buy a book. I recommend her.
Midterm: 10% Paper: 20% Online Discussions/Assignments: 34% Final: 15% Module Reading and Quizzes: 21% Offers easy extra credit points!
Ms. Seekatz is a great professor she's not so bad as people say she is, but one thing I will say is that her homework load can get a bit heavy if you procrastinate. Plus, if you don't do the homework your grade will drops big time. So just do the work and you'll be fine. Beware of weekly quizzes, discussions, midterm, and a final.
Professor Seekatz is so caring. Her modules online are very easy to understand and take notes on. Her quizzes are very easy if you read up on the modules. I would highly recommend taking her Mexican American History class.
You can tell she's passionate about history, which makes it much better to learn from. She has weekly assignments with a 20 point quizzes and sometimes has a discussion post to go with it.
Very passionate about history and does a great job teaching it! You do one module a week. The module is full of pictures and videos so they never get boring at all. At the end of every module is a quiz, which are fairly easy, and a discussion. There is one term paper, a midterm, and final. All easy and she helps when needed.
I recommend Dr. Seekatz when you take history 17B. She gives great feedback and will help you throughout the class. Every week, she assigns a new module along with a quiz (sometimes a discussion as well). The quizzes are easy if you read through the module, textbook, and primary sources. Overall, I highly recommend her.
I love Dr. Seekatz. Shes an amazing professor, her class doesnt get boring and you learn a lot. Her class has weekly modules, a paper, midterm and final. Grade drops by a lot if points are docked (shes a tough grader) so take advantage of the extra credit! I recommend her! I wish she taught the rest of my classes she explains everything so well.
Dr. Seekatz is one of the best professors ive came across. She is really involved with campus stuff & tries to get her students in better positions. She is so dedicated to her students success and really cares about her class and learning outcomes. I really loved her class bc how it was taught. Its hard to come by classes and professors like her.
Definitely take this class Mexican-American History (like a Chicano Course)!! Awesome professor! She is excited for you to learn and is always open to talking. There are weekly modules and reading, with one weekly quiz about both. Her modules are clear. Do the readings, take notes, communicate with her and you'll do great, plus you learn a lot!
This class is a lot of work BUT she is an amazing professor. She has very engaging lectures. She is also active on responding to students online. I believe I've had 2 classes with her and totally recommend !
Don't hesitate to take Professor Seekatzs class!! Learning through her modules is actually really fun and well laid out. She's a great professor you can learn a lot from and wants her students to succeed in her class. She even drops your lowest graded quiz. Take good notes and you will do well!
Amazing professor. She gives really good and helpful feedback and is very very fair and reasonable with her grading. I have learned so much from her class. I would take her again.
Dr. Seekatz is an amazing professor here at Delta College! Her course is highly organized, descriptive, and set up for success. Every Monday starts a new week, so be sure to login and get started on the Module reading, required readings, and note taking. At the end of each module is a Quiz made up of 20 questions, either T/F or multiple choice.
Read the modules, required readings, take notes, and ask questions. If you thoroughly read and take notes, the quizzes, exams, and finals will be easy A's. I enjoyed this course so much with Professor Seekatz, I ended up enrolling in her HIST 17B course and I love it as well! I highly recommend all her courses; she is amazing! Extra Credit as well
a lot of work required
You can tell she loves her subject, and is nice (as well as easily accessible through email). She provides good feedback on how to improve for assignments. All her tests are based on the modules, and I found the discussions fun. She also delves into overlooked perspectives like that of people of color and women in her assignments.
She is super passionate about her subject, caring, and cool (her personality comes off in the modules). She does have a lot of quizzes, but if you pay attention they're easy. Her discussions prepare you for your paper due at the end of the semester. She provides helpful feedback and responds fast to emails. The extra credit is fun!
She was amazing at advocating and providing opportunities for those in need. Overall an amazing person.
She is amazing, the way that she explains everything is pretty good
This professor is GREAT. Her weekly work consists of reading modules on the topic of the week and a discussion with a quiz. If you put your mind to it you can finish it in a day or two. I highly recommend taking notes on the modules, the little details matter. Super easy to reach out to and explains things really well.
I learned a lot with Dr. Seekatz and her lectures were easy to understand. There's a good amount you'd have to read, but there weren't many assignments. We had a midterm and a final, and we also had a paper to write. She doesn't accept late work and she doesn't give a lot of extra credit. She's a fun teacher to have and I definitely recommend her.
Dr. Seekatz is great! She has a genuine interest in the material she's talking about. Nothing in this class is boring, all the material is interesting. I can guarantee you'll learning something new if you take this class. Short, weekly modules that are usually paired with light reading. Then a quiz and discussion on the module. Read and take notes!
Best professor ever! Thought I wasn't going to like the class but its now my favorite. Lots of easy extra credit. Each week, a chapter/modules must be read then at the end of the week, there's a small quiz & sometimes a discussion regarding analyzing political cartoons. One term paper worth lot of points. Super easy class and professor.
She's a great professor and I loved learning about the entire course, I was truly into it. She knows what she's talking about and everything seems interesting, I never got bored reading it. You do need a book because it's required and to pass the course, you need to turn in every assignment on time. She gives great feedback.
Very caring, has easy to understand and amazing lectures. 1 essay paper, gives extra cred. finals are easy, very organized modules and schedules. requires a book but i passed without ever really using it. clear grading. highly recommend her!easy A. Hw only a quiz and discussion, it switches off every week, so one week only post, the next week a Q.
Her class is extremely interesting. Her quizzes are all based on material covered in lectures or on the surface of readings. 10/10 would recommend. :)
Professor Seekatz is amazing. I was never good with history but she made me spark an interest with her lectures. Has a great way of explaining and engaging with a class. Requires a book and weekly readings but they're easy. Great experience and would recommend.
I do NOT recommend this class if you hate reading, this class would take up your time with hella reading(5 hours)while taking hella notes for a 20 question quiz that she gives 30 mins for She does NOT accept late work and will really drop you from the class if you don't do the work extra credit is not enough to help you move up a letter grade.
not good
Ran well, but course is heavily reliant on reading and quizzes. quizzes having the most impact on grade, and extra credit not allowed to help your grade much, at all even. Very Very time consuming, and extremely hard grader , no leniency for small mistakes or errors committed.
One of the best classes I have taken. Class is easy to do at your own pace. Spend about 4 hours a week between reading, quizzes & posts. Quizes are easy if you read. She drops lowes quiz and grades extra credit.
Soooo much reading, and this professor does not give enough time on quizzes!! This class was so hard I do not recommend!!!
really tough grader, falsely claims of AI when you don't use it. work is not horrible (weekly discussions, quizzes, essays) but the assignments and quizzes are weighed heavily and is strict on grading - not good feedback as well.
It was a good class. You have to read the lectures but if you stay on top of the reading you will pass. Online quizzes and discussion are graded. You also have to write a paper. Not the hardest class but also not super easy.
I really enjoyed the class. I took it online and liked the lecture videos. Not that hard of a class.
Professor Seekatz makes a dry subject engaging. Lectures are informative, and the textbook is useful for prep. Assignments aren't too challenging, and Unstuck study was a great study tool.
Very engaging and respectful. Not hard to pass but she does grade a little harsh when it comes to writing assignments.
"This professor grades very harshly and offers no chances for mistakes. If you miss something by accident, you're penalized without consideration. Their grading feels quite egotistical, and I wouldn't recommend taking their class." Like Chief Keef once said don't like
Not a good professor, she has a huge amount of reading and a lot of hard discussions.
Thought that she was a great teacher with interesting lectures. Stay on top of your work, read the lesson, and do the work and you will do fine. Would take another class with her.
Awesome class.
She is a tough grader and is not lenient or gives second chances. Do not take her.
She treated me very disrespectfully, after all of the the things I'd been through this year she cut no kind of slack. She treated me as though this class should have been the only thing going on in my life and had no kind of humility. I would advise steering away from this class.
I would not recommend taking her class. She is very disrespectful. She will not hear you and do not care if you have family related issues. If you can, avoid this class.
This is the worst Professor I've ever had, she is not lenient at all if its late its a zero. She will not hear you out if you difficulty in something she does not care, you either do the work when it needs to get done or she will fail you. I had an A and she threatened to forward my paper to Administration because I used the modules. Now I have a D
Not sure where all these 5-star ratings are coming from, but I struggled keeping my grades up. The horrible teacher does not teach at all and is heavily reliant on a couple of assignments. NO CHANCES AT ALL would never think again to take this professor very horrible grader too. Will also blame you for using AI or plagiarism with no evidence. DONT
I dont know how she has a 5 star rating took this class a while ago, huge amount of homework, tons or unnecessary reading. her grading is super harsh, also accused me of using AI. wont recommend for anyone to take this class.
DO not take this teacher. Will grade harshly. Gives no chances at all. I would avoid this teacher at all costs. Please do yourself a favor and don't get stuck with this "Professor"
Don't even think about it. Avoid this professor. Avoid her if you do not want to have a bad experience. So far, she has been one of the worst professor I have taken at Delta College. Will not recommend any of her classes.
If you want a class where you're constantly burned by horrible busywork. The teacher is arrogant and will tank your grade with no second chances. Luckily, I got an ok grade, but from people I know, they hated the class.
It's supposed to be a history class, but it feels more like an English class. Similarly, she accuses you of using AI without any proof. If you disagree with her, she threatens to send you to the administrator and even fail you in the class. Very confrontational.
Just finished her class. I thought it was kind of easy. Liked the lectures.
Worst Professor ever, she will fail you if she THINKS it's AI. Shew ill report you to administration !!!
I would not recommend anyone take her class, just steer clear of it you don't need the credits that bad.
"AI, AI," I am done with this class! Don't she thinks that we as students have intelligence? Don't even think about twice. Avoid this professor. Worst professor I have taken at Delta College!
Horrible teacher, glad I survived her class at least with a good grade, would not recommend. Have had people ik gotten blamed for using AI by her. You will get comments on your work very cruel to the very last point. DO NOT RECOMMEND STEER CLEAR. As Chief Keef once said, "I don't like"
One of the worst so-called "Professors" at Delta will tell you you used AI and does not give you chances. Horrible teacher,r not sure why she's even able to teach, just assigns tests and discussions that she grades sometimes harshly. They threatened to kick me at one point. STEER CLEAR OF THIS self-centered "Professor"
This was my first in person class and I'm glad I took it with her. I learned so much and every unit was interesting. The only way to get a bad grade in this class is if you don't do the readings. No presentations or anything! Just be ready to read and have pop quizzes. Loved her!
NOT LENIENT, NO CHANCES, GIVES ZEROS ON ENTIRE TEST IF SHE DOESN'T LIKE YOUR ESSAY. CLAIMS YOU USE AI EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T USE IT. SO MANY DISCUSSIONS. TERRIBLE GRADING, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR FOR YOUR OWN SAKE.
Nothing to say about this professor other than you can find a better teacher. Horrible
Run away from this professor. I regret taking her class.
Worst Professor at Delta College, be ready for a long unnecessarily tough grading class.
Did very well, I was surprised because she had blamed many people for copying or AI usage, to add to this, I missed one assignment and threatened to kick me out.The worst teacher I took lessons from was boring, and she has a huuuuuuugggeee ego. Glad its over haha, Dont take her
Mmm she thinks her history class is an English course. She is very tough when it comes to grading, she will deduct points even for the little things worse than an English teacher. She accuses students of plagiarism. A lot of reading and her lectures are boring. I wouldn't take her ever again, listen to the other ratings and save ur grade and time!!
Class worked for me and I liked it.
Good class. She gives quizzes based on readings.
Terrible teacher, she doesn't accept late work. She will not hear you out if your having personal issues, she only cares about you prioritizing her class. If you fail the paper you lose 2 letter grades. Her emails are answered sarcastically and In an unproffesional manner"Did you not read the syllabus", "I think you got confused with the wrong class"
This class is ok if you leep up with lectures. If you stay on top of the reading and do assignments on time, you should be fine. Do not rely on AI, she will mark you down.
Class was easy.
I found her class informative, and intriguing! I loved taking her class! As long as you do the readings and attend class you'll be fine. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and I recommend note taking. 10 quizzes with the lowest 5 dropped, 2 papers, a midterm, final, and some extra credit is offered. Everything is based on the readings and lectures.
Her workload is a lot because I'm taking a summer course, but no joke it's honestly 20+ hours like she says. But, she expects you to know everything. Have a question? Don't ask her because you won't get an answer. I thought professors were supposed to help answer your questions but I guess not.
Easy class to pass but there are easy pop quizzes from the readings. Recommend the class to everyone.
She claimed I used AI when I got help from family members.
Promptly accuses students of using AI without asking the student about it first. Says she can only legally speak to a minor without their parent present. Is extremely rude and unprofessional. Rude, unprofessional, and should be fired.
Took her class in the summer. About the same as my other summer classes. Do not fall behind in readings and DO NOT USE AI. I enjoyed the class and would take her again.
I never expected such a horrible experience. I will never take any courses from this professor. Avoid her.
i would never recommened this professor to anyone, she grades really hard for no reason and doesnt help you when you ask her for help she just says theres a class you can go on campus to get help. not just that she accused me of using Ai and said i did plagiarism when i used her own moduel for an assignment if i could give her a 0 i would.
It was good.
Not that hard of a class. Online quizzes, midterm, paper, and final. Stay on top of work in the summer since she covers a lot of stuff.
First month in it was good but went downhill after that. Accused me of using AI on certain assignments. Please don't take this class nor this professor
Dr. Seekatz was a wonderful professor and can be a tough grader if you do not stay on top of lectures and will give you a zero if you use AI. But it prepared me for other college classes. Stop complaining about learning this is why we are in college!
Stay away from this "professor"
Overall she loves her job. Think of this class more like an English class. I would pick someone else everyday of the week.
Do not take her
Excellent class.
This is more like an English class; she is unreasonable when you have a problem or need extra time to be done with her assignments. The assigments and luctures are also hard and long.
She tends to be passive-aggressive rather than open to discussion. Her goal is to prove a point rather than help students learn or succeed. If she's going to offer online courses or assignments, she should be more understanding of the challenges that come with remote learning instead of criticizing students for them.
If you have to take HIST take literally any other professor. She is really unclear with instructions, won't hear you out if you have problems and can't turn in an assignment on time, and is a tough grader that takes points off work for anything. She should get out of teaching.
This class is basically an English class, We did so much reading and get ready for so many quizzes. She also grades extremely harsh, If you know another professor take them DO NOT TAKE HER ONLINE!!
Not hard at all. Online readings with some quizzes and a paper.
I'm currently taking Mexican American History online with Professor Seekatz. It's heavy reading but it's interesting, so sit down with a cup of coffee and GET IT DONE!! Seriously if you do the reading you will be fine. I got a C on the recent paper, but her feedback was actually really thoughtful/helpful. Thanks Professor!
At first i was getting good grades but the more time you are in her class the more she wants you to be perfect and she doesnt even let you redo the assignment if you did something wrong so if u got a bad grade you cant do nothing about it.
It was an online class so I knew there would be reading. It was manageable and she gave enough time to do the readings and online test. Paper was not hard at all. Would recommend to others interested in history.
HATED this class. I did get a good grade, but the lectures were heavy and boring. The teacher won't hear you out if you have any problems. She gives harsh grades without putting effort into consideration. She is annoying and made me hate history when I am normally interested in the topic.
This was not the easiest class. But I really liked learning about the history of Mexicans in the state. There is a lot of reading and weekly quizzes.
I'm seriously upset with how my grade was calculated. I aced the midterm and final, did well on almost everything, yet somehow end up with a 69%. The grading makes no sense, and there was zero willingness to help when I reached out. This was an extremely disappointing and unfair experience.
Professor Seekatz's mexican history class was one of my favorites. The class was easy and interesting. The workload includes weekly readings, discussion posts, quizzes, a paper, midterm, and final, but you will pass if you keep up. She repeatedly reminds us that she does not accept AI work. Highly recommend her class!
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! She has a doctorate in history and makes it her whole personality. The class is unnecessarily stressful, and instead of encouraging students she often makes them feel worse and less confident. Her approaches seem discouraging rather than supportive. I genuinely would not wish this class on my worst enemy.
Great class! You MUST read and take good notes. Gives plenty of time to understand lessons, being responsible is key. Bad reviews are from people who didn't put in an effort. A.I. is a no go, if she suspects it, she'll meet with you to discuss so you can prove that you didn't use it. Overall, she was very fair and cares about her students education
I LOVED THIS CLASS!!! She is extremely passionate about this subject and is very very knowledgeable on the topic of MX/US history! She is easy to contact and connect with over email and in person and is willing to work with you on everything!! You HAVE to take notes on readings and lectures but if you're responsible you'll ace her class for sure!!!
Easy A+ class.
I nearly passed the class w/ an A+ BUT I def don't recommend. She gives an unnecessary amount of work and is strict. She once gave me a 0 because she thought I used Ai when in reality I didn't. Luckily I had highlighted the quote and work I used to prove it so she let me off. SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS.
I really liked the class. She provided good feedback and reminded us when things were due.
The coursework was alot but as long as you do the work and read the modules you should pass. I really appreciated all the feedback given. I would keep it in mind for the next assignments and receive full points. She was also super easy to contact and would grade things really fast which I liked.
barely passed the class because she gives essays as quizzes and expects u to read like 5 chapters a week just for 1 quiz
Need to attend lecture since she gives pop quizzes. Overall class not that hard.
My FAVORITE class, that being said, it's not easy. You have to put in the work but all the answers will be found in the materials. Teacher is passionate, grading is a little strict but she gives clear rubrics. Just hit all points and you should receive full credit. I ended with over 100% but she does not give A+ I guess cause I just got an A.
