GREAT TEACHER! I thought political science is a class I have to take it doesnt have anything to do with me, but I was wrong. I learned so much in this class, I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend her. She goes above and beyond to help and her assignments are not hard or too many. She gives study guides for the midterm & final. Take her class!!!

She's definitely an easy polisci teacher. Online tests every week, and one major paper. There are a couple in class quizzes and a midterm/final but it's seriously no biggie. Her lecture notes are online and she makes sure you understand everything. Very easy. She dresses pretty cute, too.

Teacher is awsome she is very easy I honestly thought this class would be difficult but it wasn't she explains everything very well and makes sure you know what shes talking about. She gives everyone a chance in speaking and her office is open anytime to chat with her. Good Luck!

This is the best political science class i have ever taken. She was super interesting to listen too. You have to do the assignments.

I took this Class before from another Teacher and Failed. but she makes the class fun and interesting. Class attendence is important and you need to do the online work but if you do those things and study you can get a A.

Very easy prof. Puts lecture notes up online, all you have to do is go to class and fill in the blanks. Tests come straight from the "starred" material. Have to write one essay for the class which is worth 500 points (100 pts more than her tests) so make sure you do good on it! One online quiz to do at home per week.

Take her class she makes it easy to understand and makes it interesting. Their are online tests and quizzes from the chapters in the book. Watch the movie Thirteen Days because you'll have a quiz at the end of the semester on it. The first quiz is open book. Other than that I think you'll enjoy the class as much as I did.

easy class if you pay a minimal amount of attention in class. Fell asleep a lot. Never used the text that I spent 100+$ on, and couldnt even sell back to anyone/anywhere. don't buy the text or any part, but remember you have to buy some activation code for course compass, and online service where most of the work is done.

this teacher is nice.she made polischi easier to understand than all the other teachers like johol which made everything boring. u have to print out the lectures online to bring to class to fill in the blanks.the ones marked wit an *are always gonna be on the exams and have to take chapter online quiz on course compass the essay she assign is 500pt

I loved this class. The tests are online and you can retake them as many times as necessary to get a decent grade. The teacher is friendly, very organized and professional.

she is an awesome professor.. fun lectures and note-taking... love this class.. you have to be there everyday- so u dont miss anything<> and the test can be easy if u do ur studying... she awesome....

DEFINETLY take her class!!!!!!! You WONT regret it ok!? The only way you can get a "D" or "F" in her class is if you dont do her essay and turn it in on time. Other than that everythings gravy. If you never understood political stuff, this is the class for you! All chapter tests and quizzes online! Take them as many times as you want! JUST TAKE IT!

easy class except the 2 essays. everything else was easy, the online quizzes and in class midterm and final. she made everything easy and provide notes online for fill ins during her lectures. class can be boring at times b/c she follow her notes on powerpoint all the time. if you want an easy polsci2 teacher take her. an easy grade to get.

This instructor ROCKS! Her lectures are awesome- wants to make sure everyone understands. Lots of use online(quizzes) the only hard thing was her 2 timed essays the pts were seriously high and watch ur grammer and spelling. All in all it was an awesome class.

Everything is great about this class except her timed essays. She grades like a strict English Teacher. The essays are graded beyond her limits because they are timed essays and she can't expect us to have perfect punctuations right?

Easy class. Assigns online quizzes which can be completed early on in semester. 2 in class essays. Does grade like a strict English teacher but it is to be expected. You're in college! Essay questions given out ahead of time as well as study guides for midterm and final. Prepare well in advance and u will do well! Outrageous point system. Got an A.

Good teacher. Easy online quizes and easy in class quizes. What out for her essay exams! She grades them really strict! That was the only complaint i have about her. The essays are timed and she expects a perfect essay! yeah right...

She's helpful,clear on lecture,and she used powerpoint for everything. There are 2 in class essays,which she grade hard on,and 2 mutiple choice exams,very easy,just study the powerpoint notes with the stars next to it. I failed both essay exams,but got a B. Her online exams and quizzes are easy,which help you pass the class.Come to Class for points

All international students!! Don't take her class. There are 2 in class essay exams, but ****ing difficult to get A. She doesn't like students who have accent.

Easy Class. Do not buy the book because I never used. you have to purchase an online access code $43. two in class essay exams and she grades hard. even if you fail the essay exam you will still pass, just do good on everything else. easy class though. cool teacher.

I have taken her polsci 2 and polsci 13. The best instructor I have ever had in my life.A lot of fun, smart, respectful to students, fair, but tough on grading in class essays. I f she taught more classes, I would have taken them as well. I highly recommend her to everybody.

she lets you use any of the prior editions of the textbook. she's like the best political science profe you can take. she really wants you to pass, but she might scare you away by the classwork. you should definitely take polsci 2 with her, if you want to pass and actually learn the material. she easily relates to her students. TAKE HER!

Easy A if you pay attention. Briefs were difficult, she walks you through the first one. Tests were easy. She uses power points and all of the test questions (mid-term and final) come from them. Online test super easy. She really made the subject fun=) We had one group project that sucked. Otherwise, it was a great class!

Extremely easy course;just show up and pay attention. Online assignments are a breeze as are the midterm and final. The essay exam is easy to pass as long as you know how to write well. Prof was professional, kind, caring and taught well. Hands down best professor to get for pol sci 13 at FCC.

great professor!! my second round taking this course and i have better have received an A, ahha she's a great professor, topic is extremely interesting compared to other ps2 professors. there are lots of online exams and quizzes, 2 major exams and one paper, hard work pays off in this class, coming to class also pays off too participation points :)

Pretty easy class if you devote the time. One online chapter "exam" and video quiz per week which you can take an unlimited amount of times until you get it right. One in-class essay (500pts), a midterm, and final. Study hard and you'll get almost perfect scores, I'm currently getting them.

Good instructor! Only three exams. Essay exam is worth 1/4 of your grade, so study! Participation/Attendance is worth 300 points, so try not to miss class!! She post all powerpoint lectures on Blackboard so don't have worry about writing to much and focus more on her lectures.

GREAT TEACHER! Just make sure you do ALL your online test and study for the 3 in class test! Overall she's a really good teacher!

I chose this professor because the times matched up and I'm glad it worked out that way! Ms. Velasquez is always willing to help and tries to get students involved. Her lectures are interesting, easy to understand, and useful. Great class!

EXCELLENT! She teaches material in a way that is approachable and it can be seen how much she enjoys teaching. Two in-class exams, in-class essay worth 25% of grade, and everything else assigned is online in which you get unlimited attempts. Guides are provided for both the in-class exams and the essay. A QUALITY instructor! A+ 10/10.

What can I say about this amazing instructor. She explains material in great depths. Her class is very interesting. She explains both point of views thoroughly. She is probably one of the best instructor I have had at Fresno City. Make it an exception and take her class! This class is also ENTERTAINING!

GREAT class. Very informative but not boring. She made class interesting and was very good at explaining things. I would definitely recommend this teacher.

It's challenging as a college course should be. Lecture is fun and interesting. She really stresses reading the textbook and that advice really saved my butt. If you need any help she's great about answering any questions. I can't stop singing her praises, she's the best professor I've had yet. I'm in love with political science now.

I took her class at Fesno State. There is weekly online quizzes and online work but it's pretty easy. She lets u take the quizzes as many times as you want so it's easy to cheat. She makes lecture interesting. I highly recommend her!

GREAT TEACHER! I absolutely loved her lectures and she's very clear. She grades the essay exam pretty hard, but exams are easy if you study. Online homework is easy and be sure you go to class. I really liked her because she actually cared about us learning something, definitely recommend her.

Easy class! She graded the essay roughly but the other work was easy. It gave me a better understanding in the subject area.

Agree that she grades really hard on her essay exam but the other exams weren't as bad. I enjoyed lecture and even some of the in class participation activities.

The best poli sci class you will ever take.Interesting talks everyday and great lecturer.Only a total of 3 exams watch out for the essay exam its what really kills everybody.Homeworks are done online,but are really simple and based on book. Its best to do every homework and be there for participation activity so it can make up for the essay exam.

this class is extremely easy so far, im going to take her for ps2 as well. Go ahead and take her. Her midterm was the online chapter tests combined and some of the notes she posted on blackboard were on the test. i got a 47 out of 50 without trying very hard. Her study guide was kind of weird though. She's a better teacher then any other ps teacher

Awesome teacher. I feel this way even after she dropped me for missing too many classes. She's a no bull kind of instructor but if you do what she asks which isn't outlandish you will be fine. Hard when it comes to her written essay otherwise you will actually learn in her class because she keeps things interesting. I recommend her.

This was my third attempt at polisci and I am very glad that I took her class. I had taken Johal twice before and hated it. She made it enjoyable and homework was very light which helps with other classes. She's a no nonsense teacher but that's what makes her a good teacher. I highly recommend taking her if you want to pass polisci.

She is a great teacher! During her class she made polysci interesting. She gives great examples and yes she grades hard on the essay exam but even if you don't do well on it you still have a really good chance on passing. I got a D on the essay exam and got a B in the class. Participation is Key! Also go to ETC 80 extra points just for going!

I did well on pretty much everything except the in-class essay. I got a high D on the essay but still managed to get an overall grade of B (I got it w/o the ETC sessions). You get to do the online quizzes as many times as you want. Overall an easy class with the exception of the essay. And she explains the information well which is always nice.

This class is easy if you just show up to class pay attention to her lectures and do the quizzes on blackboard. The test are basically what she lectures on and if you attend some ETC sessions you get extra credit! Definitely recommend her

Absolutely love her! The class itself is hard (because it is a critical thinking class) but she really does go the extra mile to make sure her students are understanding. If you're interested in Polisci, Mrs. Velasquez will definitely impact your life.

This class may seem easy but once you start writing the briefs which will assess your critical thinking skills it gets a lot harder. She is very nice and very helpful. My only complaint is that she gave us an example of a brief that was graded at a C. I think a lot of people would have done a lot better if they knew what a A+ brief looked like.

I am glad I took PolSci. 13 with this amazing instructor. Very helpful,and open minded. Would definitely recommend her. Very important to participate in class discussions. She takes lots of participation points at the end. Main reason I did not get an A in her class.

Mrs. Velasquez was a great teacher. I would highly recommend to anyone taking polisci especially just for general ed. Its a difficult course but she makes you understand the material and gives a lot of good examples. I actually enjoyed going to her class, her lectures were really interesting.

Easy class to pass if you show up and take notes. office is always open to help students. Offers extra credit from numerous sources. Content of lectures seemed oversimplified. If you struggle with the subject of politics it won't matter what professor you have. Essay is graded severely unfair. Contested my D- to a B+. (WRITE IT LIKE A TERM PAPER)

Probably the best political science teacher at Fresno City College. I taken polisci with two other professors, and believe me she is way easier and lectures are more understanding. She does grade harshly o essay exam but even if you fail that you can pass class. Attendance is important for your own sake and also for class activities.

Velasquez makes you earn your grade with that being said she is not unreasonably in her requests of students. Will answer any question and provide clarity however she won't hold your hand. What is discussed in class will be on the test also case briefs must be not only discussed correctly but have correct grammar and punctuation.

I was a little intimidated by the class when the semester first started, but as time went a long the big agenda she had planned for student became pretty clear. I personally think she is one of the best professors at FCC her lectures were amazing &if you pay attention study & take notes you will pass. The class wasn't super easy but it's worth it

I learned so much in her class, but I don't think I've ever worked so hard for a grade. You want that A? You'll have to earn it.

Very interesting class, enjoying the subject helped with the easiness of the class. Weekly online exams were tough. The essay exam was ridiculous, the highest grade she gave was a B- so the class average was an F. Lectures are enjoyable. Be there for the participation points. No cell phones and she'll give extra credit.

I never used the textbook, ETC helps A LOT with the quizzes plus you get extra credit, the essay exam was by far THE most difficult thing to do in that class. Bottom line was if you failed that exam then you essentially failed the class. so be prepared for it.

Professor Velasquez at first may come off as very strict. But as the semester progresses, you can tell she is understanding and an interesting lecturer. I had her for both PolSci2 and PolSci13 and I can say she is a great teacher. Highly recommend.

It was a pleasure being in her class. You will learn so much and will miss a lot if you don't attend class. She has a big in-class essay exam but it is really easy if you know how to write a good thesis and information. Midterm and Final was multiple choice. She has a lot quizzes/tests online for you to complete which is pretty long so do it early

Great class! Velasquez is great and keeps the class interesting. The essay is intimidating but ETC is the answer - seriously GO TO ETC! Melissa (ETC Leader) walked us through the essay and I ended up with a B+ and an A overall. Once the essay is over the class is a breeze!

She is awesome. The attendance in class very important. Also, this class has extra credit when you go to ETC. The exam seems easy and studies guide help a lot. Following this step, you will do fine and easy to get an A. If you looking for Political Science, she is a good one

She is fair and helps with any problems. I took her hybrid class and her online quizzes are not time and you can take them more than once. It helps me remember the material. Great teacher!
