If you attend her class regularly, do the assignments and do the quizzes you are going to pass with an A. She makes lectures interesting and is very prompt in replying to emails. Would definately take her again for another class.

When I first signed up for this class, I though it was an acting class, but no, and I wasn't the only one. The first thing the professor said was "just know that this is not an acting class!" If you're disappointed, don't worry, it's a very interesting class which is easy to pass if you do the work. And you'll love the professor, she's gold :)

She has an accent but it is not a problem at all to understand her. She is very clear and asks frequently if you need her to repeat something. Her lectures are very interesting, but if you don't have any interest in theatre, this is probably not a class for you. Tests are easy if you study.

Professor Verron-Bassetti is a wonderful and beautiful teacher. She cares about you if you care about her class. Tests are not that difficult. I really enjoyed that class and would definitely take her again!

I took this class online. Yes her powerpoints and notes have some writing errors, but she comes from france. She is a hard grader, but gives a lot of feedback (she is tough and direct with her comments). Her class would be harder if I wasn't already interested in the subject. Take another professor if you want an easy A.

If you have any issues in class, talk to her, she's nice and understanding. With my full time job, and second job, this class was the easiest and more entertaining class to keep up with weekly. It's one of the best cultural learning experiences you'll have in college with out having to travel far.

If you actually want to learn about the subject she is a great teacher. I took intro to theatre with her and found it to be a very informative class which she also kept interesting by showing videos of the performances and requiring us to actually go to one. With saying that she is a somewhat tough grader so study every detail of your notes.

She is an amazing teacher, she really knows what she is talking about. Lectures are really simple, if you don't understand it she will always go back and break it down for you.

She's very tough on her grading of the short answer questions on the tests/exams, so make sure you fully explain your point. Overall about what I expected for this online class.

Prof Bassetti is nice and understanding, don't be afraid to talk to her if you have an issue or a question. She responds to emails very quickly. The material is interesting (reading, powerpoints, pictures, videos) and if you study and do the work, you won't have any bad surprises when it comes to the exams.

This was my favorite class this semester. I learned a lot and I would recommend this professor to anyone who want to learn about theatre history. She is passionate and very organized so her lectures are very clear and never boring. Be aware that you must attend a live performance as well. No extra credit but she gives many easy quizzes all along.

Professor Bassetti is great! I didn't expect to learn so much from this class. She is kind, knowledgeable and willing to help you under reasonable circumstances. Take her class, you won't be disappointed.

Buying the textbook is a waste of money. You wont use it. She has her own lecture notes that are amazingly detailed and lots of videos and photos to explain the topic. Easy class but I learned a lot!

If you like Theater and it's history, this is the class for you. She is really nice and patient. She will give you the time to complete assignments and quizzes. The only thing I would say is that I bought the book and we barely used it, but she doesn't make you bring it to class. Good lectures, very entertaining class. I really enjoyed it.

She's from France and you can tell the difference. You get what you pay for here. She gives a lot of information in class lectures, so get ready to take lots of notes. We learned about history, not just discussing our opinions of plays. Take her if you really want to learn about theater. Find another professor if you dont care...

I just finished the course. Everything the reviewer just posted below is true, except that she was rude. I found her to be nice and accommodating. She didn't let me make up an exam, but it was my fault I didn't do it. She said no when I asked, but I wasn't expecting her to break her rules for me. Anywho, I would take again. No surprises with her.

All I can say is that I don't regret my choice! Prof. Bassetti won't try to be your friend, but she will treat you with respect and she will help you if you struggle. Her class is very organized and mostly based on lectures, videos and discussions. Assignments and deadlines are crystal clear.

Loved this class. Her class isn't easy, but it isn't hard either. It was required to attend a play at Orlando Shakes for a paper and I dreaded it BUT I would've gone to see the play again! Only did 2 discussions, most of the notes she puts online, and a quiz every week. The textbook isn't necessary but I did need to use it a few times.

This course is an easy A if you read the lecture notes and the textbook readings. Professor Bassetti gives great feedback on the quizzes as well as the mandatory performance assignment, which is just a paper on a play you are required to see.

Sarah is very clear on what she looks for. Same style of assignment each week. A quiz on the module typically on a set day. The quizzes are easy if you do the work and read the sections. Overall a very good introduction class!

The course is interesting. You learn a lot about history and theater. The professor is very nice and understanding. She lectures most days and sometimes shows movies of plays in class. We had quizzes every other week, a midterm and final exam, and an essay. You need to watch a live play. Cool class.

I register this class with the expectation of a usual Humanities class and left with the desire to learn more about theatre and to visit the countries covered through the lectures. Professor was great with feedback and professional in the answers needed to broaden my knowledge of from a different point of view.

This was my second time taking this course. The first time I got a D , but with Prof Verron-Bassetti, I got an A. Definitely had to read the materials and make time to watch the videos, but it was worth it. Not a theater fan and actually ended up learning a lot! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!

I learned a lot from Professor Verron about the history of theater. My favorite part was her lectures on performance art and actually going to watch a play and writing about it. No textbook. Highly recommend.

Learned so much taking this class with this professor. No textbook but you do have to see a play and write an essay based on it. Watch the videos/docs because some test questions are based off it and not just the readings. Took THE1000 online and hands down very good professor. Lots of easy quizzes based on the chapters youll read. One essay off 900 words based off a live performance you must watch. And very little discussions. Grades pretty quickly but, not the best on communication. Never got a respond from an email I sent. But, overall class is an easy A.

Super easy class to pass. The lessons are super informative and tells you everything you need to know. Quick quiz usually 25 points after every lesson with a couple discussion assignments throughout. You have to attend one live play and write an essay about it but she outlines the essay structure which makes it easier. Read the lessons!!!!

I took this class as one of my humanities requirements and wasn't expecting much, but it was very interesting! There is a lot of reading involved most weeks, but you learn a lot about the history of theater and different kinds. The term project isn't that difficult if you provide a lot of details and follow the rubric.

Ms. Verron is a very good professor. She was quick to answer my emails and really helped me out with all the corona craziness. Her class is very good. No text book. Everything is on the canvas page. If something is not clear, email her... she responds unlike other professors. She makes you watch a live play which was my favorite part of the class.

I loved the class. We learned a lot about theater and saw really interesting performances. We had to watch a live play as other people mentioned. It was easy to keep up with the work. Everything is on Canvas. Work is due every Tuesday night. Do the work and follow instructions and you'll do fine!

She's a pro in her subject, and has several degrees in her field. Because of this, she doesn't mess around. I truly enjoyed this class, but she has extremely high expectations. What may be acceptable for 95% or professors in terms of discussions or papers, will not be enough for her. Don't take this course if you want an easy A.

I took this class in the summer during Covid, so I experienced it entirely as an online class. The coursework was not hard, but just be sure to organize your notes very well so you can take the quizzes and exam with confidence! We had to watch a long, recorded play of her choosing and write 900 words worth of content though.

I just finished taking the final exam in this course.. It was a fantastic semester. The professor is extremely nice and caring. She responded quickly to all my emails and really helped me when I was struggling with several assignments. I didn;t have any knowledge about theatre but now I can proudly say I do!

Had a rough semester with the pandemic but professor verron bassetti was very accommodating. I got sick and she gave me a generous extension. Just give her what she asks for and you'll do great. Great feedback and great professor. You'll learn a lot.

Very easy class and clear on what u have to do, shes nice and was easy to reach outside of class. Be sure to submit all ur work b4 the deadline or u will fail! i'm not done with the semester yet but I like it so far. some exercices are challenging and force you to think outside the box. You have to read some plays and watch some cool videos. the professor is easy to reach out.

She is a great professor, she is very nice and teaches really well. There are quizzes that are not too hard, discussions that are not bad.. I forgot to do some but that was because I thought it was due a different week, and because of covid I didnt have to go to a play, I just had to watch a play called Macbeth and then write about it.

Professor Verron-Bassetti was super nice and even tho I never personally reached out she seemed to care about her students. The work was very easy to manage, even online, there was at least one assignment due a week but they weren't hard. However, you will be reading a couple plays and there's 1 essay. Both the final and midterm were very easy :)

Good course, not so hard. She gives extra credit and accepts late works with a grade penalty. We had two assignments each week, one essay and one final exam. Also her feedbacks are very helpful. If you don't pass you're really not trying.

Not too hard but you have to show up to class if you want to pass. Workload is balanced there is no unnecessary busy work and the prof is helpful and nice. Thumbs up.

This professor is very straightforward and if you need help understanding something, do not hesistate to reach out, she will answer your questions. Everything is laid out easily so that we understand what is expected of us. The workload isn't overwhelming and the media we use throughout the semester is very entertaining. I enjoyed it very much.

She is pretty hands off for the online course. Sends a reminder of weekly due dates, but comes across as automated as they came during break and shutdown of campus due to hurricanes as well. She does not accept late work, so assignments, discussions & quizzes must be submitted on time. Fair amount to read, some interesting videos to watch.
