Viscous opinionated Evil Women
Mincing, inscrutable woman. Easy exams, though.

I feel like most people i know are smarter than this woman...but the class was pretty easy
she needs to open her eyes when she talks, biggest waste of time ever, half my class only showed up for the tests
I still can't figure out why she was hired. I think any fool off of the street has more active brain cells. Several times throughout the semester, I wanted to tear the book from her hands and teach. For her, the textbook provides gospel truth.
I could be vicious, but I;ll just tell the truth: she's as dumb as rock. If you do take her, don't show up to class or you'll die of boredom. She closes her eyes when she speaks, forgets assignments you've turned in, and is THE most akward lecturer.
Dr. Wheeler's class was an experirence. It wasn't very hard b/c she offers so much extra credit. I reccomend doing the extra credit, b/c the exams are hard. I was exempt from the final b/c of all my extra credit, and I only got "C"s on the tests
it is an easy class as long as u show up. there are so many assignments that are quick and easy u have something to fall back on if u dont do so well on quizzes. quizzes are pretty easy. she talks with her eyes closed but the class is easy
THE FACT THAT SHE WAS HIRED MAKES ME DOUBT THE DEPARTMENT AS A WHOLE
She talks with her eyes closed, yes. She is boring, yes. And she may not come across as a genius, but she's nice and down to earth (something that seems rare). She's fair in grading and makes sure you know what's required and when assignments are due.
She's my advisor actually, and she's there when you need her. Her exams are hard when you compared to other plsc profs, but she helps you out with the quizzes and the extra credit assignments. If you show up and participate, you'll be fine :)
I really like Dr. Wheeler. She's very informative and seems to know a lot about Latin America. Her tests aren't bad, but definitely cover the areas. She has a lot of interesting information, if you pay attention. I'll take her again if I can. I recommend.
Good class. I learned a lot. She really wants you to learn the stuff. She tries to make it interesting. Tests are hard, but she'll help you figure out the questions if your confused.
Learned a lot about World Politics. She tried to make it fun with debates. You have to go to class and participate to get the most out of it. Tests can be tough, but she'll help you out.
Good Professor
It took awhile to get the hang of her tests, but I learned a lot. She's a nic lady. She gives lots of opportunities for extra credit if you
Most people in the class don't know anything about world politics, so its hard for her to get a discussion going, but she tries to involve students with debates and current events. You have to really study for the tests.
This is my favorite class so far. She really knows a lot about Latin American Politics. She was a Peace Corps Volunteer there. There are 3 papers, 2 exams and a presentation though, so it's a lot of work.
She knows a bunch about foreign governments. Very easy class to take if you go to most of them. She was somewhat flighty sometimes though.
Very easy. If you want a blow-off class for World Politics, take her. The tests are pretty much verbatim right out of the book and the book's Web site. She tried to make discussions, but everyone was apathetic. RECOMMEND!
Excellent political science prof. She is in sync with everyone in the class and makes adjustments smoothly and accordingly. Very knowledgeable and understanding towards non-majors. Take her!
Looks like a bird. Looks at ceiling and has her eyes squinted the whole entire semester. HSe is nice and does a good job teaching but she needs to keep her political rhetoric to herself when teaching a class.
Dr. Wheeler is awesome. I had a rough semester and she was very understanding. She is a great teacher that helps you whenever you need it. Whoever said she looked like a bird....well your right! Take her if you can!
I learned a lot in her class. Dr. Wheeler gives you opportunities to earn bonus points by having a group competition by identifying world leaders. Also gives bonus points for good attendance. Drops 1 lowest test score. and a amazing class.
nice women and an easy teacher, i would take her again
this is an easy class. the work load isnt that bad at all, and the class really seems to go by fast.
If you are a major do not take her class it will not challenge you it will only make you you question why you are a poli sci major... If you want an easy A in 101 take her
her class is not hard at all. hardly any work but it's all relevant to the tests.
Wheeler is a great teacher. I was not even interested in Political Science till I was in her class. Sure the class is easy, but it is great for someone with no background. I would take her again.
Can't stand this professor. She seems almost ignorant about certain topics, or maybe she doesn't pay attention to what students are saying. Very biased in the way she looks at the world, pretty bad lecturer. She does implement some good ideas, but overall I would say don't take her.
I enjoyed her some much. Great professor to hava at IUP. Makes the class interesting and she knows what she is talking about. Just showing up is an "A". If you have to take PLSC 101, Take HER !!!
The nicest most understanding prof. at IUP.... the easiest class in the world... you have to be a lazy moron not to get an A in her class... she's a sweetheart.
If you want an easy A for world politics - take her. Show up and do the work, and you get the A. It's not hard at all. She tends to talk down to her classes, but it's because a lot of dumba**es take her class, so don't hold that against her.
Horribly boring, rushes through material, I didn't learn a thing. But, she's nice and its an easy "A"
In taking this class, I have found a new level of tollerance for ANNOYING that I didn't know I had. The lectures are dry and uninteresting, the tests are disasterously easy, and then they're all these quizzes and little things that just waste time. Easy A, if you can stand it.
I hate going to class knowing I am going to want to kill myself for the next hour!!! Very annoying emails, annoying quizzes online, and I just plain out hate being spoonfed!!! Remember what junior high was like, well this is worse. I get at least 4 emails from her almost everyday. Avoid, avoid!!
not too bad...i don't really like politics but had to take the class. it was pretty easy as far as work load/tests. class gets boring, slightly biased prof, but overall, nice. expecting A or B for class
Dude, i took this class as a first semester freshmen. Easy, map test were easier than ones i took in high school, debates were a joke, debate papers were a joke(didnt turn one in and still managed an A) plus, if u r satified with ur grade, u dont have to take the final. TAKE WHEELER if you want easy
If you choose/have to take PLSC-TAKE HER! u could study for the map quizes b4 class and get an A. don't have to show up to pass! I went to class and everyday I slept from the time she started talking until class ended & I'm getting an A. Only emails u need are the one w/ the quiz countries. Cake.
This was the easiest class ever, you don't have to go to class to pass. Just get the book and know the answers to the study guide and you'll be fin. No classes on Fri, made me interested in politics
WORST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD!! im a 4.0 student & this is the hardest class i've ever had. Her tests are IMPOSSIBLE & her class is the most boring thing i've ever sat thru. she does NOT teach. it's all out of the book so don't waste ur time goin 2 class. serioulsy AVOID her at all costs. My chemisty class was a million times easier. AVOID WHEELER!!
Easy A. Only go to class when there is a map quiz, debate or test. She's one of those profs that talks but nothing really comes out.
Great professor! I've already learned a lot. You have to study for the tests though, they're not easy.
Dr. Wheeler is the best professor. She makes class interesting with a variety of methods of teaching. She gets us involved. I learn more from her than I've learned from all the other professors combined. She'll help you out if you have any questions about an assignment. She's very helpful.
This class is RIDICULOUS. My friends and I call it 'high school hodgepodge.' Lectures are pointless; she'll spend a few weeks talking about nothing, then cram three chapters into the last 20 minutes of class before the test. If you HAVE to take her, do yourself a favor and just read the book and show up for debates and the test. GAHHHH.
Quite a lot of work for a 101 class, but it's interesting. Tests aren't bad if you study for them. She tries to make the class interesting by getting students to participate like in debates and other stuff. Overall, not bad, I'm expecting a B.
Alot of students complain that she spends the majority of the class time on student presentations and what not, however she does this so that we learn different things. Wheeler expects you to do the readings and if you have questions to talk with her. She dosen't waste time in class on simple topics that are in the book. Take her!
Show up for the debates, map quizzes, and test and read the book and except an A.
Mind numbing is the best way to describe any of Dr. Wheeler's classes. She will give you flash backs to middle school. She is an easy A, but there are far better profs in the Poli Sci department (All of them). She is about as unclear as it gets, and largely relies on students to do the teaching. I don't pay tuition to listen to undergrads talk.
Easy class. Do all the assignments and study for the exams, you'll get an A. Very nice professor, no attendance policy
Horrible. Take any other prof in the poli sci department if you can. She does not understand what she is trying to teach, and appears to lack even basic knowledge at times. I think she gives A's just so she doesn't get all bad ratings.
Interesting class, good prof, I learned quite a bit about stuff I didn't have a clue about before. 5 tests but the lowest one gets dropped, so you don't necessarily have to take the final. Recommend.
Buy the book...and then a nice pillow because you are gonna need it.
Very nice, incredibly understanding and easy to work with - take her if you have a chance... Do the work, study (a little) and you'll be fine!
Easy, but extremely boring. Doesn't appear to really know what she's talking about.
Overall I like this class but it does involve quite a bit of research work and writing assigns but the topics are interesting. We discuss relevant topics. Recommend it if you're not just looking for a really easy class.
This was a very easy class. At times with all the current event reports and map quizzes and canceling class, it seemed like she wanted to avoid teaching the material. She gives you a copy of her notes, map quizes are extremely easy and tests arn't too hard either.

Now row 2, dont forget to do your current event reports and pick your debate topics and study for your map quiz, and your test on ch.s 1-100 is on friday, and 10,000 other things. psyche, sarah is really nice and the work isnt that bad, except it does kinda look like she stuck her finger in an electical outlet-zap-hair done for today-take her
Most boring class ever and her debates aren't debates they're 2 sided speeches. Don't really recomend. The only good thing about her was the WebCT quizes...fairly easy and points add up. Easy Map quizzes if you print the out and study during class. Easy to fall asleep in too. Take at own descretion.

She's a very nice lady; easy-going, peculiar yet lovable characteristics.
Teaches like an elementary school teacher. She wants you to pass. Tests are simple. Stupid current events reports and web ct quizes make it impossible to fail. I recommend her.
Dr. Wheeler's class resembles a high school freshman's poli sci class rather than a university-level course. She spoonfeeds you everything and the tests are an insult. Her "lectures" mostly consist of nonsensical rambling, and a good percentage of the information she imparts is false. Avoid her if you actually want intellectual stimulation. Easy A.
Good class. I learned a lot. I feel I know more about whats going on in the world now.
I absolutely hated her. She is the most boring person in the world and pretty much everything she does annoys me. Half the time, I don't even think she knows what she's talking about. I sat in class on my laptop the whole time and didn't pay attention and I still got decent grades. I would not recommend her at all.
very easy class. She drops the lowest test, so if you do well you don't have to take the final. No use even going to class the last month if you're not taking the final. No attendence, just do the online quizzes, and you've got a month off! Nice prof, but I agree she is a little pecular. Speaks to the ceiling a lot, little to no eye contact with us

As long as you can get through her not being able to use the dvd player, she's fine.
As long as you do the webct test , the homework, and pass most of the book test you will be fine. Class was boring at times. I read the Penn alot, you will be fine..Take her if you can
If you want an easy class you're gauranteed to pass, this is who you want to take. If you have interest in this subject and want to learn, forget about it.
I like Sarah Wheeler. Very sweet lady, willing to help, very passionate about her interests. Not such a great teacher. She sort of rambles on and off, assigns readings and then forgets about them. Doesn't often stay on topic. But it's an easy A, and she's willing to help you out with whatever you need. I'd take her again.
She made it interesting and I learned a lot
Dr. Wheeler shows no interest in her students or her field. She really needs to find a different profession because it is clear that she does not enjoy her work. I would never take another course from her. I basically taught myself the material and didn't even need the expensive textbook. Very disappointing.
Dr. Wheeler is not really a great teacher, nice though. I felt as if I were teaching myself or the graduate students were rather than her. I would not take another course from her. The graduate students took the same tests as the undergrad.; a little unfair. Overall, not enough "bang" for my tuition buck.
The lectures are very biased and a little scattered. She types up all the notes and emails them to you, and attendance is not mandatory. As long as you study for the tests, it's an easy class.
Prof. Sarah Wheeler is completely useless. If you have a choice take someone else. She is dumb as a rock and will not help you to understand anything covered in class.
This is a easy A. Come to class sometimes, print out study guides, go to some extra credit, and ask questions and you'll pass without a doubt. Not the most interesting class in the morning but it's worth the A.
She is the The best Professor you can get an A so easy and no need to attend, only one assignment in the whole semester
Take your normal thought process and take it for a liberal spin. If you do that, you're guaranteed an A. Pretty easy class; the professor is actually extremely intelligent when it comes to Latin America. Otherwise, it's all about how the United States doesn't do enough to help little old poor countries. Decent class.
She is very opinionated. Be prepared to learn from her opinions. She calls upon random students in class and forces an answer from them. She leaves out answers on chapter study guides and never goes over them in class so tests can be difficult if you don't look them up on your own.
Her lectures are opinionated, but if you learn her opinion, then you do well on the test. You don't need to show up for class. Just read the assigned chapters and you should be good. She is very intelligent though when it comes to what she is teaching.
VERY OPINATED! if you don't share her opinion you will fail. i learned just to agree with what she said.
Professor Wheeler is very opinionated, but her class is very easy!!!! The test comes right from the notes and she gives bonus from time to time.
I thought her class was easy. All you have to do is study, and do your homework. Her tests are easy she basicallys gives you the answer. You just gotta listen.
She is a very nice and smart teacher but unless you are in the major nothing makes sense. Im taking it for my writing intensive but feel lost and don't feel that for a class with no prerequisite it should be this challenging.
Take Dr. Wheeler. She's a little out there in her own world sometimes, but she's a very nice lady nonetheless. You don't need the book. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you should go occasionally so she knows who you are, and some things she says or passes out will be on tests. There's only 4, and final is dropped. Tests are easy as well.
Very nice professor and willing to work with students to make sure they do well in her class. Work load was a bit higher than most classes, but it was a winter session course so that's probably why. Assignments are fairly easy and she can be lenient with due dates when the class size is small. Would definitely take her again if I could.
Dr. Wheeler is a sweet woman, but she does tend to ramble during her lectures. She emails class outlines and test reviews - DO THEM and attend class! Her test questions come from these outlines, reviews, class discussions, as well as the book, so be sure to purchase and read it. If you follow all of these suggestions, you will certainly get an A!
This politics class was sooo boring but i mean come on its politics. 5 exams were given and could drop the lowest one. only gave one bonus opportunity. I went to almost ever class never missed and at the end of the semester i missed the A by one point. I asked for help and said there was nothing she could do. Horrible nut case that just rants
I hated this class. She is honestly an awful teacher. For one of the tests, I wasn't even sure if she had graduated from high school. let alone has a doctorate. She doesn't teach, she shows videos during class. Tests are 90% from the book so you have to read. If you can avoid her, do it at all costs.
Great Professor
She sucks. She literally spent 3 months teaching us how much she hates the Republican Party and I learned absolutely nothing about politics except for what I scraped from the book.
Dr. Wheeler is a sweetheart. I took the class my first semester of college, and only missed 5 points out of the semester. There is an opportunity for some bonus points, but the tests are very easy anyway. The book is not needed and I wasted quite a bit of money on it. She is a great prof. if you need an easy class for liberal studies.
Approachable but very boring lectures hard to pay attention the entire duration of class
Wheeler's class seems to be a bit outdated. I feel like all the information presented was from 20 years ago. Nobody ever shows up to class (doesn't take attendance) and if you read the book you should be okay because you'll learn more than you did during lecture. Really hard to pay attention during class and has a very strict no electronics policy.
I took this class for an elective and what a mistake. While the material itself isn't too difficult, she often goes off on tangents and her voice may put you to sleep. In addition, she does not honor her syllabus deadlines and will move them up without notice, just to convenience HER! I would avoid her at all costs.
While she is a nice woman, Prof. wheeler tends to get off track easily and is hard to understand. Classmates and I often found ourselves teaching ourselves the material whilst studying for her tests. Its an easy A if you take notes and study, though 100% is nearly impossible unless you memorize every word she says. She always seems to correct you.
If you attend class you will learn a lot. Not all of her lecture is on the tests, but most of it is. It is easy to get an A but even easier to actually learn IF you come to class. Attendance is not mandatory but will enrich your knowledge if you do.
If you're looking for an easy A in this class, you've got it. Mostly lectures with a few tests and a presentation and that's your grade. The kicker is that she doesn't do a very good job of explaining things and wears a heavy political bias on her sleeve. Not particularly informative or moderate, but easy for sure.
She really does not seem interested in anything she teaches and has the personality of wet cardboard. Could make anything sound boring. Would not recommend at all.
To succeed on the exams, you should listen and write down a lot of what she says, study the outlines she gives, and do the online quizzes that are optional since some of the material can be found on them. I didn't read the book, but I am pretty sure I heard students talking about how information comes straight from there, so I would read.
Dr. Wheeler rambles and goes off topic way too often. I didn't learn a single thing from her. I had to teach myself everything a few days before the test.
I have never had a worse professor in my life. She was completely unprepared coming into class each session, always late by at least 3 minutes. She did not follow the syllabus, she would choose a random topic almost every class. Her idea of teaching was showing a YouTube video or two and then making a few comments. She should not be a professor.
Not a bad person, but not a good professor. Threatens to kick you out if she sees any electronics and does not use Moodle or D2l therefore you dont know your grades unless you keep track yourself. Textbook was required but barely used and she expected you to study her information if the book was different, but to still study from book.
Dr. Wheeler is a great person, but can sometimes be very unorganized. The class is easy easy easy.
A lot of long lectures for this class. However there is little to no homework which means our grades were pretty much only tests.
All we did was read the book that was required for this class and take the test. We did not have lecture videos to watch at all or zoom meetings. She did send out a review though the week of the test, so if you study that you should be fine.
Shes so bad at technology and makes absolutely no sense when it comes to what shes lecturing about. Tests are all closed note
One of the worse professors Ive had only thing graded is tests and never is focused on one topic. All tests are closed notes except for one on D2L. Should not be a professor and really has no clue what shes doing
Not a good teacher. 4 exams are basically your entire grade, and they are somewhat difficult because she doesn't teach the material very well. There is no homework, which is nice. However, you have to read the book to do well on the tests. I would also recommend looking at the chapter reviews and notes before exams. In short, she can't teach.
Though she is a very nice person and can help when you ask, she is very tech illiterate. She does send out emails laying out tests which is very helpful. BUT. Nothing on the syllabus was correct. Tests were unclear with constant spelling errors, dates changed a lot, and nothing lines the syllabus. Final paper had no criteria at all. Very confusing.
This class was fairly easy. Based on 4 tests and a final (she drops the lowest test if you take the final) and a current events report. You should read the book to do well and gain an understanding.
I took Dr. Wheelers virtual World Politics class and it was a good easy way to get the credits. The only grades are tests and a small current events project. If you read the textbook and go over her study guides youll be good. Shes also very easy to reach through email.
Took this class online. As long as you read the material, watch her lectures (she gives notes to follow), and do the practice tests if you get a chance, you'll be good.
Dr. Wheeler wants you to think about the underlying causes that you might not realize.
Took her for an online class! Her lecture recordings are super helpful as well as the outlines she sends!
Very simple and straightforward class. The tests were easy and paced out, and her only homework was a current events paper due by the end of the semester. She is kind but her lectures and test questions feel extremely dated.
The D2L was used for the midterm multiple choice questions only. The first exam included 2 in person essays and online multiple choice. The second/final exam was ALL IN PERSON. Which normally I would be okay with this but she doesn't teach and gets carried on. You basically are on your own in this class. For those who are hands on STAY AWAY.
