really funny, interesting. not great for MCAT review. should probably be harder.
Funny guy - horribly hard tests.
She's extremely nice and helpful, but her tests are hard. Make sure you study, and you will do well. If you don't study, then don't bother
She's awesome, has funny stories too.
Stories in class someties get too long winded, goes off topic a little too much. However, she is a very kind lady and has genuine concern for students.
omg i love her!!!
Boy can she tell stories!! You take tons of notes in this class and she tells a bunch of random (made up?) stories about Life back in India . Once u figure out how to take the tests they are easy. Boring class, good luck staying awake.
love her!!
she's like a dictionary of everything you never knew you wanted to know.
This is one of the greatest professors in the history of York College! He is funny, starts classes off with a joke, and if you simply PAY ATTENTION and DO THE HOMEWORK, then the tests are a snap!
Don't take her for the night class, she teaches until 9:20 and forgets to give breaks. Easy class though, and fun stories. Can either be really interesting or boring depending on the day.
She is very nice, tells stories. Very personable.
fairly easy class. can be INCREDIBLY boring but she is very nice. bring your pillow.
Overall, the class was wonderful. She is a very friendly and approachable professor who's willing to answer any question you put to her. Tests aren't that hard, you just have to get used to the format and what she's looking for.
I took Dr. Knanna for both of his Conceptual Physics courses in 1988-89 and I'm still using information that I learned in those classes. Plus, he's a hoot...ask him to tell you how ugly his wife is! (She doesn't deserve that btw, at least she didn't)
He is an incredibly funny guy who always makes sure you know the concepts before he starts off with the math. He gives out so many bonus points that its impossible not to get an A or B.
Should have been fired years ago.
best techer and class I had
makes class alot of fun takes the serioius out of the class, helpful notes and gives answers for all homework but hard to understand him sometimes because of his accent
she is a awesome teacher and just take her if u know what i mean
I really hated this class because it was so easy. By unhelpful, I meant that the class was unhelpful. It should be a lot harder so that it is of some use for the MCATs and other stuff. Very elementary.
professor khanna was a great teacher. i didn't do too well in the class, he was there if i had any questions and always tried to help. the class was fun and i'd prolly take it over again with him at the helm
So boring and her tests are pretty hard. She will work with you to get you the best grade possible but you have to go to class and you have to study for tests. I got a C and thats the worst i have done in any class at York
Fairly easy. She will help you get the grade you want
she knows what she's talking about, hands down. she makes u feel comfortable, but be careful... attendence does matter and she does take notice. final was BS b/c she didn't tell us to read the novel until about 1 wk. b4 the exam. knowledgable and intrstng
Funny, and kinda hard on tests
Horrible class, horrble teacher. I absolutely hated going to govt and politics in South East Asia. The class sucked and she was extremely difficult to understand because of her accent. Do NOT take this class unless you have to. It's a waste of time!!!!!!
As long as you try you will get a good grade. She is extremely nice and helpful. Knows alot about the Middle East, not sure the novel you have to read has relevance today though.
tests are hard but he is a GREAT teacher.....teaches stuff that is useful in life
I thought she was a great professor. I got A's on all the tests and never felt like I had to work rediculously hard to pass. Didn't read the novel and got an A on the final
very nice lady.accent makes it tough to decipher the info so it's probably best to sit up front.Test's were easy but It felt like I was writing a book. It's mostly essays so if that ain't your gig don't bother.
She is a very nice lady, but she is from india and it is very hard to understand what she is saying. her tests are easy as long as you study what she told you to and her classes are very boring, but the book you get, she wrote it, goes word for word for what she teaches in class.
I love her, she is a wonderful teacher. Wish she taught more classes. She has a lot of interesting stories, and she has a good perspective for the courses.
Very sweet, really cares about students. Has interesting stories and wears clothes from India. Has an accent and the book is usless (Don't buy it) Easy B..will need to syudy for an A. I recomend the class if you want to learn about religions and culture.
Tests are no walk in the park, but he tells funny stories, and makes a geniune attempt at teaching. He will be very easy on you if you show up for class all the time, my grade was probably a lot higher than I deserved.
She's really nice and her Indian accent isn't that hard to understand, she actually tells some pretty funny stories. Never lets class out early though; made us bring OUR OWN MAPS for a map quiz.
He is an excellent professor. The tests are hard, but he's always available for help and you always get out of Lab early. Study like he suggests you should.(OR you can make a good effort and as long as you come to all the classes and come in for help on occasion and he'll pass you with a C at least)
Such a nice lady, she says she cant be mean and I believe it. Her accent is pretty easy to understand if you sit towards the front, but ask her to repeat it and she will. First test wasnt too bad, but quite a few short answers
Requires a lot of studying but the material is easy. Very helpful and funny.
Repeat everything he says word for word.
accent isn't too hard to understand. tests are a little difficult, multiple choice, short answer/essay...read the novel she won't tell you to read it until a week before final. small individual/group project at end.
Prof. Khanna is a great lady, really knows the subject matter and makes it interesting. She is an easy grader. Just go to class, take good notes, study before tests (DUH). Can't believe I got a 4 and exempt from last test!(which is on novel, read it as you go). NOT hard to understand if you LISTEN!
she's a nice lady and easy to understand if your up front. I sat near the back the first day and couldn't hear a thing. There are a lot of notes and information, but it is interesting, and the tests, well, good luck with the essays, thats all i have to say, didnt do that well on the tests but still got a b
Make sure you do the practice problems that he gives you; it's only 3 tests and they only cover 2 chapters anyway. Go to class and do the labs, it'll really help you out to get those extra points.
Go to class, pay attention and take notes. Be prepared to write a lot on her tests, but as long as you understand the material you should be fine.
Loved her so much I took 2 classes with her. Difficult to understand at first but you get used to the accent. Very sweet woman and great personality. I loved her classes.
I didn't like him at first and dropped the class and ended up taking it over the summer. He was much better then and I ended up loving his class. He makes you work but he really is a great guy.
I absolutely loved her. The accent at first was difficult but she has no problem clarifying what she's trying to say because she tells you up front that she knows she has problems with pronouncing certain things. Tests are riddled with grammatical errors usually; just ask if any questions. She's so cute and sweet it's impossible to not like her!
Khanna is awesom, his class was pretty easy because he was interesting and funny, which made it easier to want to understand the material.
not very helpful, asked for help and he hollers that your not paying attention. when he does the problems he skips steps. his accent is so hard to understand. he does have a lot of funny stories though
Khanna is one of the nicest teachers there is, really makes physics interesting. came in dreading it, love it now. has a ton of funny stories and will go to the ends of the earth to help you understand. labs last an hour, if that. tells you EXACTLY what to study for the exams. study hard and you'll pull an A. Can't wait to take him for Phys II.

This class was easy. Her lectures are tough to follow sometimes and could easily put me to sleep but if you take notes, the tests should be a breeze. Very nice lady.
being a mass comm. major and taking this class is very rare.. but i did it.. and i am glad I did. I learned so much.. Khanna is a great teacher will help you every which way.. study for the tests because they can be challenging and you will do well.. if you are not math oriented and dont need general physics try physical science
Not a good experience at all. HORRIBLE teacher. 'Nuff said.
Funny as hell. His accent isnt difficult at all and hes clear when explaining concepts. Take all notes and study them and do all the problems several days before the test. Tests are hard with a mix of essays and problems but you can do okay if you listen to his advice of keeping up with the work. I didnt do that and felt it on the tests. EASY lab.
Classes are long and she never dismisses class before 9:30. Lectures will put you to sleep and it is way to much work for an ADR. Take Russia.
He is so hard to understand and his tests are ridiculous - 10 questions short answer. I did not like his class at all.
spends a lot of time telling you how/why you're going to mess up the test
You have to memorize your notes exactly for exams. If you're a bad test taker or bad at memorizing, it sucks because the only grades are the 3 exams, and then a few bonus points if you have perfect attendance.
He will help you with anything and always encourages questions. Tests are from notes and are only 10 questions. He tells you exactly what to study and his accent is cool - he always has funny stories.
I studied for hours and got low Cs on all my tests. His accent is hard to understand, especially at 9am. Worst class I have taken EVER. If you love yourself, DO NOT TAKE PHYSICAL SCIENCE!!!
LOVE Mrs. Khanna and highly recommend her. She is an expert on South Asia, having grown up in India, and she tells very interesting stories. She also know a lot about the mid east and helps clarify what is going on there now. Don't sweat the map quiz, I bombed that but did well on all other tests and got 4's as final grades.
This class was better & easier than mechanics, but the exams were still hard, especially the final. I don't like his teaching style because it's hard to follow the concepts since he flies through the material. He's a good guy but you have to be an expert at memorizing things to do well. Put the time in like he says to, and you should do okay.
Not an easy class by any means. Lots of notes, but the labs are fun. Very helpful. Just ask him any question and he will answer it. One of my better teachers here.
Very hard class. He expects that you understand everything and gets frustrated when you ask questions. He is a nice guy and tells funny stories. The tests are hard and only 10 questions, so if you miss a few you fail. You must do all lab work and then it only counts as 5 points in your grade. If you don't have to take this class DON'T!
Funny man and tells great stories, but class is hard. Perfect attendance=extra credit. When you have a question don't be afraid to ask-he encourages asking q's. He may act like you are dumb, but he will still help you. Just memorize definitions from his notes & practice the problems. Only need book for problems, so make a friend in class and share!
Don't take physics if you don't have to. The class was challenging... need to memorize the notes and the problems. You get extra credit for perfect attendance, def helps! Our class final wasn't cumulative. Personally though, physics sucks. Khanna always had funny stories though.
had him for physical science, basically physics for dummies and he teaches it so. he thinks you don't know anything and treats you like a middle schooler. you have to swallow the textbook and regurgitate it on the tests, diagrams and all (even when he doesn't ask for them!!). good intentions, horrible teaching techniques.
Has a great jokes!
WORST PROFESSOR EVER! If you can imagine, he grades physics subjectively.. yes, MATH subjectively. I've witnessed him grading a test and he seriously graded it in 10 secs. You can have the same answers as someone else but get a completely different grade. You have to phrase things EXCACTLY how he does or it's wrong can't even use book definitions.
One of the nicest people you could have as a professor. She tells great stories and is such a welcoming person. When I first saw "Intro to Mid East" on my schedule as a freshman I was worried... then I went on to take two more of her classes and learned a ton.
One of the nicest proffessors I have ever had. A heart of gold! I had a 70 average, i got a B+ because she let me write 2 papers for extra credit, and did everything in her power to help me! Recommend her!
such a nice lady, very likable. doesn't always present things in the most tactful way and some of it is misinfo, but her intentions are good. storyteller
Shes a nice lady, but very hard to understand. Likes maps a lot.
Horrible professor. He leaves class almost everytime he is there to go home and eat breaksfast and you end up sitting there waiting for him forever. He's grading is random as well nothing is constant. Grades will vary on how much he likes you. The lab instructor Charlene is a much better teacher then he is. I learned way more from her then him.
You guys are unreasonable. This class was AMAZING. Why does it matter that you had to sit around waiting for him? You still learned all the necessary material, and you even got out of class early on most days, so what's the problem??? It's not difficult to get a good grade in this class so long as you're willing to put forward SOME effort.
Took her for South Asia. She is one of the nicest people I have ever meet in my life. The class is a joke, the only hard thing is the map quiz but she is extremely helpful for it. The only bad thing about the class is she takes sometime to get the test back to you so its hard to know where you stand. TAKE HER IS ALL I CAN SAY!!!!!!!!!!
This is definitely a must-take class with Dr. Khanna. He makes the class a lot of fun with his jokes and party atmosphere, and it's not very hard if you just do the assigned problems. His teaching technique is really helpful, and you learn more than you could ever imagine. This is the best class I've ever had and highly recommend it.
if you go to class everyday, he automatically passes you. easy class, tests will make you think but not that bad he gives hints for what is on the test. recommended
Decent Prof, definitely funny. You either love him or hate him.....i got a 4.0 in both classes...love him :) **Argue after exams with him for more points.
One of the worst teachers I've ever had. He's funny and laid back, but will NOT help you. He makes you feel stupid, and does not explain things well. He spends too much time telling stories and not teaching. I'd take another professor, but he's the ONLY gen physics professor at York. Damn.
Greatest Professor Ever!! tells the funniest stories and everyday half the class was spent laughing with him. He makes his own notes and as long as you memorize them, you will do fine, which he tells you. I definitely recommend this class!!
It's a fun class, but I learned nothing. He is very hard to understand and refuses to explain questions more than one way. If you don't get it the first time, he will repeat it several times until you are frustrated and give up asking. I would not recommend taking him if you want to really learn Physics.
I like him. His exam questions are right out of the book, which he wrote. A lot of repetitiveness, which allows you to understand things in more complex/different ways. He's one funny guy. Tells the best jokes. No prof's made me laugh more. "CO-HO hahaha, CO-HO hahaha" (clapping) ;)
Hes the man. enough said. his comments are hilarious, and he makes learning a boring topic exciting. dont listen to any of the comments the people below have said.
He's okay, unless you have a way different than his of understanding physics. And hes got favorites. Otherwise the class is not bad
Dr. Khanna wants to help you understand, you just need to take the time to go to his office and ask him the right questions! If you do the homework problems, you will pass the exams. His labs are relaxed and this lack of lab report stress really helps you get through the lecture exams. Don't miss lecture.
He's a funny guy who loves what he does. He will explain Physics in a way you can understand and apply it to everyday life. Great guy and I loved his class.
Dr. Khanna is a funny, laid back guy who wants students not only to understand, but to love physics! As long as you prepare, you will do well on exams.
I love him! He is one of the smartest, nicest, funniest and best people I have ever met. He makes you work for your grade a little but he is always willing to work with you. His loud voice comes off a little intimidating but he is just enthusiastic and excited about the material. He has a heart of gold but don't skip class, he frowns upon that!
He is very hard to understand and constantly says he is there to help but all he can do is re-explain the same exact way over and over again. He is also kind of annoying and repeats himself over and over again in class.
Dr. Khanna was one of the best professors I have ever had. I actually enjoyed coming to class. I recommend taking it over the summer because you get breakfast every morning and if you are happy with your grade before the final you can opt out. You use the textbook every day and problems from the books show up on the exam.
Probably one of the worst professors I have had. Had to teach myself everything online. I would not take again.
Funny guy, knows what he is doing
3 tests with 10 questions each where he gives you the answers to all possible questions that can be on the test. If you attend every class he gives you 50 extra credit points. This is a very easy lab to take.
Expects everyone to find Physics as easy as he does. He's upset when students need and asks for help. He has a problem with accommodations provided by the school involving electronics. Spends a lot of time in class talking about how smart his family is. Does not respond to emails. If you miss even 1 class, you have a C.
This class was horrific and I am not Exaggerating in anyway. The professor is a nice man but he gets tongue tied a lot and its a really big language barrier. He tells you whats going to be on the test but for some reason everyone still failed! Im pretty sure he needs to retire the class is hard and if you have a scholarship kids it goodbye! RUN
WORST TEACHER EVAR!!
Would rather you memorize everything than learn it. Calls women in the class "babe" or "baby". Not good with technology, very difficult to contact or get accommodations.
