Sasa is very passionate about philosophy which makes you intrigued in lectures. It's philosophy so you won't get it at first but he repeats the content frequently, you have to pay attention. He talks majority of the time and only point form notes on power points and talks about them so don't skip! I'd take a class with him again. 2 essays&final exam
He's such a hot dad prof. Really makes philosophy interesting despite me not having done barely any of the readings. I found myself going to class not knowing about the readings and still learning so much about them through the way he lectures. Super passionate and really light-hearted
Sasa is a dilf and you can't go wrong with taking his class!! Make sure you go to the lectures because he explains content clearly with examples and especially if you don't know anything about philosophy
Sasa is a a great prof who really expresses his love for philosophy in his lectures. He goes in great depth and explains the content really well. He also is very open to questions afterwards and will stay as long as you need to help you understand anything within the course content.
He was alright
He's definitely one of the best professors I've ever had, he makes you so interested in the subject, and you can tell he's extremely passionate about philosophy. philosophy is naturally a complicated subject, however, he makes everything crystal clear and easy to understand. He's also very funny, which makes the subject 10x more interesting.
Sasa was by far one of my favourite professors in first year. He's one of the professors you know is genuinely passionate about what he teaches and he makes lectures enjoyable. He's really laid back and understanding and easy to approach if you have any questions about course material or assignment extensions.
Incredible lectures. He was evidently passionate and very knowledgeable with regards to all texts read in the course. His ppt slides are not detailed so attendance is needed to perform well. Just 2 papers and a final exam; all of which were quite straightforward
Very nice, he knows what he is teaching, and very interested in what he is teaching.
Easy to reach outside of class. Eager to help you understand content or just chat about material.
His lectures asked for more than you were comfortable in thinking. He would ask questions that pushed you further into your thoughts. The usual suspects would answer, but for someone who finds class participation uncomfortable I felt challenged. Challenged in a really helpful and motivational way. Personable during office hours, and easy-going.
The best professor I've ever had and got me into switching my major to philosophy , he's really passionate about what he's teaching and that is the most important aspect I think a teacher should have. Ryerson needs more professors like this one.
A very good professor who really understands what he's talking about. His lectures were very good. Highly recommend actually attending lectures because the PowerPoint presentations he posts online are very sparse when it comes to study material. Only take the course if you're really interested in philosophy though as it gets very length at times.
Really passionate and knowledgeable. Explains things clearly and is nice as well. I didn't talk in class but he's great with engaging with students' ideas and questions and challenging them.
Sasa is a great professor. He is very engaging and puts a lot of passion into his lessons to improve student understanding. He is very informative and truly wants the best for his students. I would definitely take any of his classes again.
Sasa is very passionate in his lectures (he just talks). Very helpful outside of class. His slides are not helpful at all so you should attend lectures and read!! He has a soothing voice that puts me to sleep but it is not like he is boring. He is engaging in his lectures. Tests are straightforward if you listen and read! Do not read last minute!
Every lecture felt like a good use of time
Sasa encourages participation but subsequently lets the class get way off topic. The actual content of lectures is always crammed into the end. Tests are difficult but I found the assignment to be fair. The exams have passage recognition so make sure you have done the readings. Also, the PowerPoints are useless.
A fantastic professor who is extremely knowledgeable about course content. Attendance and readings are mandatory to perform well on exams. Tests consist of short answers and passage recognitions. Incredible lectures.
Sasa is open to all dialogue and questions. Even though some students make unintelligent comments or ask questions in which they should've known the answers to if they did the reading, he doesn't show any signs of frustration and encourages all participation. Young and enthusiastic professor with a genuine thirst for philosophy.
Leactures are good and i recommenf you go to. just be prepared to listen to student ask really bad questions. And go off topic about things that dont matter. Doesnt pick on people which is great. READ AND UNDERSTAND THE ARTICLES. You cant BS the exams trust me. Its a easy A if u read and go to class. Essay was marked super easy
He's so enthusiastic and makes the class really fun. Really helpful whenever you go to him after/outside of class. If you take good notes and study them, you will pass the exams because they're pretty straightforward. Just talk to him as much as possible and ask questions and you'll be fine. Really makes you wonder and learn.
The readings he gives you are long and confusing, but if you to go the lectures, he'll explain the important parts to you. Just make sure you listen, ask questions, and you'll get it. Take good notes, stay open-minded, and you'll ace this class! Sasa is great, and he makes philosophy so fun. I wouldn't recommend getting a philosophy degree though.
He is an amazing professor ! Always willing to help out ! Philosophy is not my major however I took this class as one of my electives because the course code seemed interesting & was it ever! He really engages with the students and puts you deep into thought! Also, he's very good looking and intelligent
Rushed everything until the very end. Assignment helped boost average but tough marker on midterm and final
Unfortunately the students talked more than the professor which means that not enough time was spent on discussing the chapters in detail. Class discussions would start on topic but slowly go off topic as some students who spoke contributed things, at times not related to the reading. Did not learn much in this class.
Really makes you wonder. Cool prof!
Sasa spends most of the time lecturing, but if you ask him a question, hell stop to consider it and take it seriously. Doesnt talk at students. An inspiring teacher who really cares about what he is teaching.
Sasa is the most engaging prof I have ever had. He got me to switch to philosophy. Every lecture was worthwhile. He is excited to teach each and every class, and is really easy going. He is not just philosophy prof, he is a philosopher. Talk to him outside of class, you will learn as much as in class. I would take any class with him. Absolute gem.
Sasa is a remarkable man. He is really passionate and knowledgeable. He is also really engaging, but you will still be distracted because he is such a hottie. He makes old philosophy sound exciting.
Great and inspiring lectures. His tests are demanding becuase he asks you to have in depth knowledge. But he helps you get there. He is available and friendly. My favorite professor by far.
He is the nicest, most accessible professor I have had. His assignments are interactive and fun. Would take again.
I made the mistake of taking this as an elective when I was not very interested in the course. Needless to say it was extremely difficult to follow. Lots of readings and lots of ambiguous questions on midterm and final.
Tough but rewarding course. He loves what he teaches and respects his students opinions. He will make you fall in love with philosophy. Wish I could take the course again.
Just follow his instructions, do the readings, ask questions, and you should ace it. He is an inspiring speaker, and all around great guy. I'd take any class with him. He walks the walk.
Great Prof. Great philosophy class. Tested us on the readings, nothing insane. Every class we would discuss previous nights readings. Just Super fun, not trying to do to much. Smart guy, funny. No attendance, just show up, do the readings, participate in class, take the test, don't stress.
Mind-opening professor who knows what he is talking about. Also laid back and respectful. He listens to every question and answers them directly. You have to come to class and do the readings to do well.
Literally such a good reasonable prof, only midterm which if you showed up to class youd know all the answers too and a take home final. Tell yous everything you need to know and only quizzes on things that were discussed, no textbook used and weekly reading. Most inportant thing is to show up to class and you will 100% pass.
Amazing, intelligent professor. His charm is distracting. His knowledge infinite.
My favorite professor at Ryerson by far.
Ill be real the class isnt too hard I barely read the reading and managed to do well Its just the class was boring and was graded by 3 things 30 midterm and final and 40 essay making it hard to pass if you do bad on one part Other than that you can easily do well but you have to show up to class and take LOTS of note as he covers a lot
He covers loads of material; its like taking two classes instead of one. His lectures are engaging and well-informed. He examines the text closely. It's a big class, so there is limited time for discussion. It would be good to have a tutorial for this class.
Make sure you take notes, as he lectures most of the time, and then he asks you to know specific info for midterm. Ask questions, because he actually answers them. He values originality and thinking for yourself. Overall, great experience. You lear a lot in this course.
I am currently in his class. He is the most engaging professor I have ever had. He is really good at explaining difficult theories, keeps the conversation going, and answers any questions you may have. He is really easy-going.
I took Meaning of Life with him. Transformative experience. I came out a better human being.
Sasa has the ability to control the flow of a lecture unlike any prof I've ever encountered and sprinkles in just enough humor and lightheartedness to be immensely engaging despite the overall dryness of his material. If you want to learn about Philosophy he is certainly a prof I would recommend. 9/10 and one of the best profs I've had at Ryerson.
This class was so boring and a waste of time. Sasa is enthusiastic but he talks way too much and rambles. He gets carried away with answering students' questions and lets them talk way too much. I would not recommend this class.
Great professor! So engaging and so interesting to listen to. I would definitely take this class again, content is super interesting and very relevant, and Sasa makes this class even more fun!
Sasa teaches you how to think, and cares about his students. He offers correctives and clarifications where needed. Full of interesting ideas! I would take any class with him.
Highly recommended class and professor. Knows his material but cares about what you have to say. Steers the conversation in the right direction without notice. Engages meaningfully with his students. A genuine professor with a love of philosophy.
Beauty prof who is a great and entertaining lecturer. Super knowledgeable and someone who is obviously very passionate about Philosophy. Exams are very long and cover a lot of material but there are no surprises so if you study diligently you should have no problems. If you want to learn a lot would definitely recommend just don't expect an A+
Can't say enough good things about this professor. Genuine, respectful, knowledgeable, everything you'd want in a prof. He makes you work for a good grade. You can't not do the work and do well. But if you put in the work, you will be rewarded.
Extremely knowledgeable and detailed professor. I learned more in this one class than I did over the last two years at the university. It is amazing how much material he covers in class.
Amazing prof. Loved his lectures, he was so engaging and really helped in clarifying what each reading would mean. Really easy going guy, discussions were always so interesting and entertaining.
Absolutely stunning professor with a lot of passion and enthusiasm for philosophy. My favorite course.
My favourite professor. He is very passionate and knowledgeable.
Sasa is great! Fun class, interesting discussions that he can mostly keep on topic. Always wants to try to think through students ideas.
He is a very interactive professor who respects and builds on what his students have to say. He has a remarkable breadth of knowledge. It is quite impressive.
Amazing professor with lots to say. Respectful to his students. Obviously, loves and knows his material. He is great at applying abstract philosophy to concrete contemporary problems so you see their relevance. Overall, just super!
Wise man, indeed!
Sasa explains philosophical ideas in plain English which is huge because the language can usually get a bit confusing. He keeps his lectures concise and allows for tons of discussion during the lectures (online). I needed accommodations from him and he was incredibly patient. I would highly recommend him
Professor Stankovic gives intense, extremely clear and informative lectures. He is open to various points of view and addresses questions in a serious way. He is an example what a professor should be. Great selection of readings too.
The best professor I have ever had. There was not one class where I did not feel like I learned something really important that I should have known. It is like listening to a sage.
The quizzes were so hard if you get 2 marks wrong you fail the test! the quizzes are worth 30% so its a big deal if you fail DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU DONT LIKE PHILOSOPHY OR HAVE NEVER TAKEN IT, ITS A LOT HARDER THAN YOU THINK
Absolutely amazing class! His lectures are down to the point. He explains the readings really well. He goes through the readings step by step, and explains the arguments in detail. He is REALLY thorough and engaging even online.
Following his instructions is the most important thing you will do. He makes you write 1 hour weekly quizzes, and if you do not take the whole hour and read carefully you will certainly fail. His lectures are detailed. He is extremely engaging, if not inspirational. He is a demanding and knowledgeable professor. I would take him again.
Best that philosophy department has to offer. respectful, engaging, funny, knowledgeable. I took three courses with him. Every one of them was amazing. I would recommend him highly.
Professor Stankovic is an exceptional instructor. I particularly enjoyed his office hours. He would stick around for a long time discussing philosophical questions with students. His tone is always inviting and positive which makes it easier for somewhat shy students to come forward with their answers.
Sasa is a truly knowledgeable and engaging professor. I appreciated how clearly he organized his class for this online medium. Every week, he assigns a reading, then lectures on the reading. The quizzes didn't really have much to do with the course content, just take your time and read them carefully- They're not as hard as some people might think!
Dr. Stankovic was a good professor. He gave enthusiastic lectures, explained everything well. However, I didn't like philosophy much.
Very nice professor but this class could be hard if you've never taken philosophy before. You have 12 quizzes, two essays and participation marks. He is very smart and knows what he is talking about. I HATED the fact that we couldn't ask during class because I was always confused about some things. Participation was stressful
The class is basically a philosophy heavy class, the professor assumes everyone knows philosophy. The good ratings are probably from philosophy kids who are in a philosophy program. The professor himself is nice, but doesn't know how to teach students philosophy in terms of a liberal course. Also poor communication skills.
Excellent, but demanding professor. If you don't pay attention, and don't read, you will pay for it.
Lot of work in this class; 2 essays, 2 weekly discussions; numerous quizzes. All in all it is worth it, if you do the work. His lectures are super clear and rewarding. He is friendly and willing to stick around for extra discussion in office hours. Great professor.
His lectures are fast paced, so you have to pay attention and take notes. Doing the reading is essential. Lots of work with quizzes, discussions, essays, participation. I came out smarter and better person. Excellent professor.
sasa is a real gem, super easy to talk to, makes his classes very interesting and gives an amplitude of opportunities to get marks to keep your grades up. hes like also really good looking so might take his class again. besides that, the philosophy is a lot of reading and he makes sure you say on top of your stuff. dont be afraid to ask him stuff
Very kind professor. This course was online so he would post a video once a week and then host a weekly discussion where participation was graded. He would delete the video once the week is over meaning you cant refer back to it ever again and would do challenging quizzes every other week that were out of three which would make or break your grade.
Excellent and enthusiastic professor. His lectures are super interesting, and he is willing to consider questions from students. He is very kind and open-minded. Two essays, quizzes and discussions. Overall, great experience.
Very jolly prof/ passionate about the course material. Hard to hear. Pretty easy marker, but go to class. The only drawback is how boring this class is. G just talks at you, with little class discussion. Easy work so if you like the topic and you show up, go for it. This however was my least favourite class. You don't have to do the readings.
While I personally did not enjoy my previous philosophy course that I had in a previous year, Professor Stankovic changed my view on philosophy courses. While classes are boring if you don't participate, I haven't left his lectures feeling like I didn't learn anything. TLDR: Lecture great if you participate a bit, lenient marker.
bro's the most engaged prof ong fr his lectures are straightforward, he elaborates, and he somehow manages to keep everyone engaged bro its crazy how good he is
Three exams + 1 essay, no final. It's quite fun if you participate in lectures. He's available outside office hours if his office hours are busy, and usually also after class. His 1 hour lecture was a work period for homework. His recorded lectures are quite long, so I just stick with the textbook.
He is very engaging and thoughtful. I appreciate his openness and respect. He really listens to your ideas and responds to them. Do the readings and participate. It makes everything better. Easy grader. One essay, quizzes, discussions and exam. I love going to his classes.
Prof Sasa is a very nice guy, but this class was bad. I tried extra hard every week to not fall asleep, but just sitting there listening to him talk about dead white men for 2 hours straight was brutal. not engaging at all. if you understand & like philosophy then you should 100% take him, he is a good person, but if you don't, stay away.
If you are up to challenging yourself and learning about philosophy, take this Prof's classes. The discussions are open and Sasha is respectful and engaging. The material can be difficult at times, but he is an easy grader.
Stay away from this professor if you're not a humanities major. He is a very tough marker. I appreciate that he gave us an extra credit assignment, but the amount of effort you put into this class is not worth it if you only want to fulfil a lower-level liberal course credit. This is not the professor (or class) to take for an easy A.
Absolute stunner of a professor. He has a knack for keeping your attention on philosophical points. It's a bit of work with quizzes, discussions, essays and exams. But it is so much fun that it is quite worth it. I will take him again in the future.
This is not a bird course, especially if you are not a humanities major. Sasa is a nice charming guy, so I get the high rating. But if philosophy is not your strong suit do not take this course. Dont think you can google answers for quizzes/midterms, he sets it up in a way where you cant. The course was not worth sacrificing my GPA over.
The content is taught decently, it's a critical thinking class so it is difficult to understand without the readings and textbook. His slides are long paragraph style and he doesn't post them to D2L after class. So good luck if you miss some info on the slides. his exams are confusing and don't reflect the material in the same way he teaches it.
His lectures are super interesting and clear. But he covers too much material and expects you to know it all, even though he tests you only on some part of it and you don't know exactly what part. So you have to know everything he teaches. Your learning goes through the roof but it doesn't mean you will do well. It's not an easy course.
Very wonderful professor. Easy weekly homework assignments for free marks. The assigned homework is enough to do well during exams. Exams are either textbook questions, in class examples, or very similar and straightforward. During F22, the exams were all online. He posted lecture recordings to D2L, but the textbook was good as well.
Not a fan of multiple choice quizzes in philosophy, but they're more than manageable if you actually do the readings. If Sasa wasn't such an intelligent prof I wouldn't rate him so highly, but he's both incredibly approachable and very knowledgeable. Take him if you want to really learn.
Tough course, but an excellent professor. He is really demanding that you learn what he teaches and his quizzes are difficult. Be prepared to study!
I never had a better professor and a more difficult course in my life. 4 quizzes, and every one more difficult than the previous. If you are looking for an easy grade this is not your course or professor. The professor is great at explaining the material but you have to practice on your own. Otherwise, you are in seriously trouble.
Hardest class I have ever taken. If you don't do the weekly reading and recorded lecture, before his in-person lecture, you're screwed. You have to study every material in depth. Feedback and clarification did not help. If you're not Aristotle/Plato, run in the opposite direction. Did horrors to my GPA. Good luck.
Great Prof! Really passionate about the content, teaches well, and he's always there to answer questions and engage with students. Watch the recorded lectures, come prepared, and you'll do great. Re: quizzes, my advice is take your time. My one critique is that he is not great at responding to emails, so maybe don't take him for an online course.
Awesome guy, beware of the tests though
He is a great professor and his passion for philosophy and critical thinking is clear. Difficult exams and one essay that he grades easy.
Excellent lectures, he does a great job at breaking down the readings and providing helpful comparisons. However, the quizzes were quite difficult and the D2L questions were occasionally hard. He also never handed back any grades throughout the term so I was unaware of my progress.
Great lectures and interesting material. He graded the essay and final exam super easy. You need to take your time with the quizzes.
Although the class was asynchronously held (professor posted his previously recorded lectures), the lectures were terrific listens. Really went in-depth for all the thinkers in an unbiased manner, if that's what you're looking for. Relatively easy, weekly quizzes. Average marking-difficulty for essays. A bit on the slower side for email responses.
The class includes recorded lectures and optional live meetings. I enjoyed both. He is an excellent professor with passion for philosophy. The quizzes are a bit of work. Overall, he is an easy grader.
Sasa was a great prof. His online course shell was very organized and all the content was easily accessible. His lectures were detailed and insightful, and the readings he chose for us were all amazing papers written by amazing philosophers. Excited to have him again in the fall.
My favorite professor at TMU. He is always upbeat and very philosophical. He is approachable and ready to help out. Just everything you want in a professor. I'm looking forward to taking more classes with him.
he seems like a great guy, but his lectures did not correlate to the reading and it was added random stuff from elsewhere. i have a lot of background knowledge on philosophy, especially Existential philosophy but the lecture slides this man had on were full of random big words and unrelated stuff to the readings. it was NOT easy to understand.
Amazing content and lectures. You have to pay attention, because his power points go beyond the readings and he does not share them. (But he does say he does not quiz you on the material he does not cover). Some of his explanations of existentialist philosophy are truly inspiring and super relevant to modern life. Great professor and a great guy.
He is an inspiring lecturer, and he teaches material that is actually relevant. His lectures go above and beyond the material you read and he does not post the slides. So you must pay attention in class. Otherwise, you are lost.
Being brief, no notes are posted, and many points made in class lack explanation. You must also choose multiple answers within the question and if you get one wrong, you get the entire thing wrong. As a philosophy major, this class was a nightmare. There's no love for teaching here. You can try attending office hours, but you will find no justice.
The structure of the exam and tests are horrible, he deducts points for questions you got wrong and it is very unfair. This exam structure does not benefit anyone who wants to study philosophy, I was genuinely really interested in the topics but this is just unacceptable.
This class is rewarding but it is also very difficult. The exams are not worth a lot of your grade, but they are so hard because he requires that you understand the material he is teaching even though he does not post his notes. But he is quite intelligent and passionate about teaching. If I was rating the difficulty only, he would be a solid 1!
Demanding professor. He does not let you slack and your slacking will show. Do not be fooled by genuine friendliness. He will not give out easy grades. If you do the readings and pay attention, you will learn a lot from this man. You can tell he lives and breathes philosophy.
He tests you using various criteria, online exams, discussions, participation and essay. But he does insist that you do the readings and get involved in learning. He does not spoon feed you the information. If your plan is to coast through his class think again. He truly is an amazing lecturer. Also super friendly and accessible.
Very entertaining lecturer, you can tell he is passionate about what he teaches and it reflects positively in the material you learn. While the material can be challenging, he is available for office hours and very approachable by email.
You can literally only hate on this guy because the material is difficult or you are bitter because of grades. He does absolutely everything he can to help you succeed.
Purely virtual course. Is very strict about rules and makes no exceptions no matter the circumstance so do the work on time. Didnt feel like I learned much.
This is an online class with lectures. Lots of great content with professor explaining carefully and in detail the readings. There is a lot of work for this class but it is very interesting and important.
I just love listening to this man. So knowledgable and inspiring.
Course about critical thinking and logic. Professor is very patient and explains topics in detail. Exams are not difficult and he gives examples of questions.
Professor lectures with power point and responds to questions from students. Weekly assignments and four exams. Lectures prepare you for exams.
One of the best profs I had. Some people think that the course itself is heavy and difficult but just attending and listening to lectures is more than enough to do good on exams. Prof is always there for your questions, caring and willing to help. Would definitely recommend going through course with him.
My favourite professor at TMU. Very respectful and accommodating. I had some issues during the semester and he was very helpful. Professor is open to ideas other than his own and engages with students questions. Weekly assignments and quizzes and some D2L exams.
Kind and knowledgeable professor. He is super organized and gives good feedback. Also respectful of different perspectives. Essay and final exam based on lectures so you have to fo to classes.
Very interesting course. He assigned some philosophers I have not read elsewhere that are inspiring (Han, Freire, Fanon). Will definitely take more courses with this professor. Lots of assignments and opportunities to improve your grade.
your grade is based on participation marks, and biweekly tests worth 15% of ur grade, and one final test worth 20%.There is also a final essay which is only worth 25%.Your notes are worthless, since the tests are written in a way where you're set up for failure. If you fail 1 test, you can kiss your gpa goodbye because the tests get harder from there
You are tested on several exams and take home assignments. There is also the essay assignment. Exams are easy if you do the exercises he tells you and if you follow the examples he goes through in class. Very kind and smart professor.
He is a pretty good lectuerer, his lectures have helped me understand the readings better. However, you are graded heavily by participation with the course and you must do weekly quizzes + discussion posts. You cannot do these late because he locks them after 11:59 PM. Do not slack with the class, you must do the readings. He does not post slides.
Sasa is one of the best professors I've ever had. The course is interesting and he takes interesting topics to discuss in class, as well as actually teaching the materials. Definitely would take some of his other courses
This class was genuinely incredibly confusing and despite the fact that Prof. Stankovic clearly knew his stuff every classmate I talked to was unclear on the material. Also, don't waste your time reading the textbook as it is the lecture word for word. Overall, avoid this class if you can all it did was stress me out.
Excellent and no nonsense professor. Seems to love what he does.
Sasa is overall a great guy and great professor. He teaches well, just expect to show up to classes and take notes because in PHL214 specifically, he doesn't post slides. He is pretty lenient with assignments.
Professor Stankovic breaks down course material clearly. Attend lectures, complete assignments, and utilize Unstuck ai - it really helps with exam prep. Overall, a manageable course with a caring instructor.
idk but i just found this class so subjective. Sasa seemed like an ok proff, and I attended every class but I just couldnt get the right answer. the 1 hour lab was asynchronous, but had to submit independent work for completion marks. 4 exams, 1 every 2 weeks. One thing, i sent an email asking about the final paper and he never responded..rude
Professor Stankovic seems like a solid prof, however, this course was very difficult and my biggest complaint is that sometimes on the tests he would mess up a question himself and later not do anything about it when he was told. Other than that, he made learning hard material as fun as it could be and I would try him again in a different class.
Excellent Prof. He is great at explaining material and is patient with questions. Exams are on the harder side, but I improved with time. Accessible for office hours.
probably my least favourite prof. missed an online exam by 10 mins for a med emergency and couldn't do it. got an extenuating circumstances pass from TMU and emailed him. he refused to let me take the exam and was beyond rude about it, basically said it was my fault. had to drop the class to avoid failing midway through the sem for nothing.
Amazing professor with a lot of knowledge. Very genuine and caring. Essay and final exam. Weekly assignments. He does not budge much on his deadlines.
Any philosophy classes will probably tank your gpa.The prof is chill, said he'd excuse an assignment I didn't submit but I guess he changed his mind in the final grades. Its good to make friends to study with since this is mainly opinion and understanding-based. The lectures summarize each chapter but its better to read anyway for the tests.
Great Prof. Very philosophical. Essays and weekly assignments. He insists on you doing the readings and welcomes participation. Very kind and won't shoot down comments.
Cant say much since this is async course. Straightforward evaluations which are 2 essays, 1 final and weekly discussion posts. Essay grades took awhile to come out as he is strict about use of AI. Otherwise, in terms of evaluations id recommend this course for if you're looking for a "chill" law and business group 1 course. Good a good mark so far
guy's a hard marker and really tough on the ai aspect which makes him take a while to give back assignments
Online course. Great content. Super responsive and diligent. He really keeps track of Chat GPT, so be careful how you use it.
Fun course with interesting material. It is not very difficult as long as you do the readings. He is very adamant at doing your own work and not plagiarizing and AI stuff. I respect him because of how clearly he explains difficult ideas.
Since this prof is removing his negative reviews, I just want to say the critical thinking course was atrocious sir. I graduated last year and I come to say this again, you did not teach, did not help, did not do anything. I felt like I actually was robbed of my time, effort, and even intelligence. What an insult
Summer course. Excellent lectures and friendly professor. Learned a lot about political philosophy.
I'm currently taking this course and I've done well in the material, but I wont get the mark I wanted because I was unable to access tests, quizzes, and discussion posts due to the system set up in d2l, and every time I would ask him for help in resolving this issue to retake a quiz or a test, he'd just ignore you and let your mark slowly decrease
He ignores everything. Every time I ask him for help, he ignores you and says there's nothing he can do when there is clearly an option. I lose 20% in his class because his tests were unaccessible every time. I woke up yesterday to take my test that was from 11am-12pm and I couldn't find it when I was on my computer waiting the whole time.
Amazing lectures. Interesting material. The prof doesn't hold your hand in the course. If you follow his instructions you will do well. Booked two office hours with him to explain material further. Great guy too.
The most inspirational lecturer at TMU! His interpretation and explanations are stellar. He has a way of drawing you into the philosophical topic like no other prof. He is strict foe sure though as others have mentioned.
Kind and engaging professor. He mostly teaches by the book. He is very strict on deadlines. He uses a textbook that you can find online.
Sasa is passionate about his work. However, in a 2 month online summer course I do not think we are needing to do 2 quizzes a week (12 quizzes total), 3 exams (2 multiple choice & 1 essay), 1 essay and weekly mandatory discussion posts to test our knowledge. If you are a BSW student please do not take this course.
Great lecturer and friendly professor. You can tell he lives and breathes philosophy. If you are genuinely interested in philosophy, he is your prof. otherwise steer clear, because he demands you do the work. Lots of opportunities to earn grades.
Lots of cool philosophical insight from Professor Stankovic. He does not favour slackers or dumb down information. He expect you to do the reading and pay attention and think for yourself. Otherwise you will do bad. A breath of fresh air at university in my opinion.
This professor has given up completely. He doesn't respond to emails; he refuses to change unreasonable assignment schedules to accommodate for students that have later classes; and he provides zero feedback on all assignments, in class work, and assessments. And this isn't all. If there wasn't a word count, I could keep going for a very long time.
Great lectures and material that is relevant to navigating the modern world of AI and social media manipulation. Very friendly and easy going professor. But he is not a pushover. He expects you to do the work and do it on time. Not an easy grade.
Amazing lectures. He is very engaging and always ready to answer your questions. I appreciate how interactive his classroom is. Full of energy and wit. He will wake you up no matter how boring your day may be.
This class is not the most approachable to new philosophy learners, but it isn't a bad class. You will be going over a classic philosopher every week, and the readings can be pretty long (and difficult). There will be some in-class stuff, so try not to miss it. Overall, he is a pretty friendly and approachable, so don't be afraid to ask questions.
Great prof, easy to follow instructions. And he's hot
Amazing professor, very open minded and intelligent. Exciting lectures and he always stays after class to answer questions.
Sasha is a truly modern philosopher. I feel like he'd do amazing if he had his own youtube channel. He is so engaging and has knack for explaining philosophy in simple terms. Also seems to actually live the philosophy he teaches, Stoicism, Nietzsche, Kant. Nothing like a prof who stands behind his ideas!
Absolutely arbitrary grading. No actual elaboration on how grades are determined. His lectures are this bs “hey look at me, I'm your cool guy prof,” when it's obvious he doesn't want to be these. And without mentioning any comment directly, I find it extremely peculiar that all these people have the exact same writing style and 5/5 experience.
He uses in class grading and oral exam. So no AI helps. Material is interesting anf he is energetic lecturer.
The professor is very knowledgeable, and his lectures are insightful and informative. While he can be brief with students at times, he is clearly invested in the course. There are frequent in-class assignments, so regular attendance is important to succeed. He also pays close attention to AI use in coursework.
This is a difficult course, in part because the instructor is a demanding grader. The lectures are also abstract. While the philosophical rigor is evident, the material is not always presented in a way that makes it easy to understand. It often feels as though a prior background in philosophy is necessary to fully grasp what is being discussed.
He is an amazing teacher but he does not posts his note and this course is assignment heavy so u have to read a lot.
