Dr. Scooter really makes class fun and because he is French Canadian, he brings a lot of culture to the class. Dr. Scooter always has his door open to students, and cares about his students performance. He is very well liked by everyone, students and faculty! We are lucky to have him! :)

I have been a student of Scooter's for 2 semesters and I have never regretted it. He is a great professor and person.

After a semester with Osan, I can appreciate any French teacher, but Pegram goes above and beyond expectations. He engages students in class, and he keeps students interested in the topics. I'd recommend him to any student studying French.

A wonderful person and nice to a fault. Is willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to help *everyone* pass. The course was only difficult because I'm poor at language.

Great prof. Had him for French and a Minority Studies course. He rocked in French, and really opened my mind in the Minority Studies class (without the usual B.S. bias, as he laid the info out there, as it speaks for itself). Very helpful in all ways and a nice person. Will do anything to see students succeed. Why can't all profs be like that?

I've had Dr. Scooter for French and his Caribbean class and I've loved them both. He is extremely helpful and patient, and as long as you come to class and try, you will not fail his classes. I have learned more from him than anyone and I love his lectures. The readings in the Caribbean class can be challenging, but he breaks them down well.

Best language professor I've ever had! He's an engaging, effective teacher. His class is challenging, but far from unreasonable. You'll learn a lot from him!

I never learned so much inone class than I did in this one! Scooter was very detailed about what he expected on the research paper, and honestly he was the first professor in 3 years that was like that. The exams challenge you but you will never learn more in any IUN class than you will in this one. This guy cares about you, and it shows.

I recently discovered that Dr. Scooter was ranked #19 in the "Top 25 professors in America." I was a bit disappointed by this. He should have been ranked #1! I have taken several of his classes, and each time, he does whatever he can for his students to do well and learn. His Caribbean class is not to be missed, as you will learn so much in it!

Very rough grader on papers, but gives you an opportunity to fix them. Very interesting material and gives decent tests. There is a moderate amount of outside work to do, but he makes it fun! He genuinely cares about the students and the subject!

Great professor, and awesome class! Someone else recently said that he is a "rough grader" on papers. I turned in a paper and it came back to me full of marks. But you know what? This showed me that this professor actually cares. I fixed stuff and my initial low grade went up to an A!!! I think that I will be a better writer now, that's for sure.

Dr. Scooter is by far THE BEST professor I have ever had. He is one of the very few professors at IUN who is willing to answer any question at any time of the day. His lectures are amazing and he teaches with passion. He expects details and proof of material and that's not hard to do. I would definitely have him again!

Scooter was by far one of my favorite professors at IUN. His class wasn't something I was going to be thrilled about, but he made the class very enjoyable. Scooter is amazing. You can tell he really wants all of his students to get good grades. There is a lot of homework and quizzes and exams but it makes the class easier. He is very lenient with homework. He is willing to help in any way and answers questions for exams. He makes lame jokes but they are hilarious and keeps you entertained.

Awesome professor! Not once in three years has a teacher ever taken as much time to help me learn and become a better writer. I am amazed How much time I spent working with Dr. Scooter on my writing, which made me learn what I was doing wrong and how I should fix it. This is very helpful! Reading material took 5 hrs at least 3-5 days out the week and the homework was maybe 3 hours 2-3 days out the week. It class was way too complicated for hip-hop. I thought it was going to be a fun experience learning this, but it was AWFUL. Quizzes were confusing. I prefer consistency over tricky. I passed but my learning style was tested BIGTIME

One of the best professors at IUN and he is the reason that I graduated from college. He will challenge you for sure, but no one before him had ever helped me become a better writer. Took him in a classroom and online, and he is best in person in all of his classes! His Caribbean class should be required for all students!

I have taken many different classes taught by Professor Scooter, and all of them have been really interesting and I learned a lot of things that I never knew. I genuinely cannot explain how much I've enjoyed both of the classes I took with Scooter (Caribbean studies+French100) and how much Caribbean studies unironically ended up helping me in other courses I took once I transferred to IUB. Scooter teaches the most amazing classes. I took his Caribbean class, hip-hop, Black films, and I even took one French even though I am not very good with languages. Great teacher all around and a really caring person too.

Amazing! Maybe it's because I am an older student, but Scooter reminds me of Keith Richards, Steven Tyler, and some wild 90s rappers all in one LOL and this is a compliment! I've been in many of Scooter's classes and he cares about his students so much that he refuses to let them do badly! Inspirational for sure!

Scooter has a lot of energy and kept the class interesting. He was always there if you needed help. He has a strong passion and he will not let a student fail a class. He is super helpful and you can tell he enjoys what he teaches.
