Tests are incredibly difficult in relation to homework assignments(HW does not suffice). Painstakingly meticulous with not only current math course, but also includes everything you wish you never had to cover again (and not necessary) from prior courses.

I like him a lot. He was very organized and helpful. If you did the homework you did very well on his tests. The tests were covering everything, but the final was easy.

Really tough teacher....but definitely a great teacher

Very hard but very helpful. Definetely not an easy class. Homework doesn't help at all with the tests. You have to go to extreme measures to pass this class with a C.

He is very smart, but not a great teacher, goes too fast. does not give enght test. each test has many , many topics. miss one question lose 15 to 20 point. he is heplful and kind. but not easy. if you know this stuff, OK, if not plan on spending a lot of time laerning on your own.

Teacher is always willing to answer questions however,the tests are difficult because they cover too much material for only having one hour to take them.

Mr.Barnett will help you to solve a problem but he will always want you to give an effort on it. grading he is very hard. teaching the material, he is really good. if you review the notes and handouts you will pass with an A if you are an A student

He is like a robot! He knows math well, but does not know how to teach it. A question from the class throws him off his 'routine'. He belittles also. I got an A, but I still do not recommend him...My hair fell out from stressing! Too many assignments. Points are taken off if you are late. Very anal!

His class was very strict and structured. I recommend his class if you are going farther in math. You will know the material if you do well in his class. I was extremely prepared for Pre Calculus after taking his class. He knows the material well and is very thorough. I would take him again.

The Greatest math teacher on the face of earth - those who complain are cry babies who don't study and who are ignorant. I wish Mr. Barnett teaches all the math courses up to the Ph.D level. I probably stay in school until I finish my Ph.D with him, seriously. He is extremely respectful, friendly, clear, and helpful. He should get a noble prize

GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!!! All of the other students who have complained, ****ed and whined are whining for a reason! They are not willing nor able to do the work and be dedicated enough to put the effort into being a successful student. I wish people would stop pointing a finger at Mr. Barnett and look a little harder at themselves.

dont mis class or your screwed b/c everyday he covers something new.not hard but not easy... YOU NEEED TO STUDY FOR THOSE TESTS! no quizes which SUCKS!you dont really need the book unless u want to use it to sudy for test.

Okay, I tend to see a theme with Mr. Barnett's ratings. The people in the lower math courses get pissed cause they're doing bad and rate him bad. The man knows what he is doing! If he can explain MATH 283 then he can teach 110/115. He can be fast but the tests are reasonable and the homework is challenging. Ignore the other comments, just take him!

And by the way, For any math class that he teaches, I insist that you do most or all of the suggested exercises! The man has an amazing knowledge of Linear Algebra and other concepts. Don't be alarmed with the other poor ratings...They are just confused MATH 080/110/115 students that don't know a good math professor when they see one!

Excellent teacher overall. He has an extremely sound grasp on all material that is covered. Lectures are extensive and very clear. He makes the most efficient use of class time possible. Do not fall behind in his course.

Gives you great notes, great grading scale, and great at explaining. Returns everything timely and neat.

he is great teacher and when he explain something he do it good..BUT his hw is way hard. he never gives the hw from the book..he just give u paper with 3 or 4 questions and u have to answer them after 2 class meeting ... HW is every day...BTW the HW paper he gives is way diff from the book problems.HARD Teacher i wouldn't recommend him to anyone

Good teacher, explains things very well for the most part, but you have to ask questions because sometimes he assumes students already know some things, retakin this course next semester because I'm getting a C in the class right now, not because the materials hard but because his test are. Wouldnt recomend him as a first choice but overall not bad

Prof. Barnett was a great teacher. His course requires a lot of commitment. I am not the best at math and I was nervous to take this class after reading the reviews. Most of the people who get bad grades in his class just didn't study. If you commit to learning the material you will be fine. This class prepares you very well for future math classes

This teacher is great at explaining things. I understood everything that he taught in class. The only thing that I can say bad about him is that his tests are extremely hard which is why I ended up with a c+ in the class. He goes out of his way to find hard problems for his tests. I didn't care though because this class doesn't transfer anyway.

Mr. Barnett is a highly organized and effective teacher. He greatly cares about the success of his students. Even though the pace is fast and at times very challenging, he provides real life math experience. It is essential to complete all assignments and attend all classes. Expect clear grading guidelines and knowing your exact grade (daily).

This guy is THE most efficient prof.I have ever had.Anyone who doesn't appreciate having him for a prof.is a moron.Every time we took a test,the results were posted within hours,and he is always in his office if u need help.115 is a hard course,and he makes sure u know what u need to know to go on in math sucessfully.If u r here to learn,take him.

I have never had a math teacher this dedicated before. I learned more in his class than I had for my entire high school career. I am definitely taking him again!!

He himself is a very good teacher, but i had him for only 50 minutes a day, and it was really hard to learn everything in such a short period of class time! so if you can get him for a longer time, i recommend him! dont buy a text book either, he shows it for the whole class!

Be sure to study a lot. I am not the best at math, and I was able to get an A in his class. My secret was, hard work. Do the suggested problems he gives you, because they are generally the problems that pop-up on the tests and quizzes. He is an extremely efficient teacher, respectable, and straight to the point.

Very nice guy and well organized. The only thing I did not like was the pace of his courseand the lack of flexibility in class. If you do not get something in class to bad he will only explain once more in the same exact manner as before leaving you still not understanding. Quizzes are ok but test are hard and LOTS of online hw. Tell you to do end

He's such a great teacher. It is true that he is a little hard on grading, but if you do the suggested problems, you'll get an A. keep an eye on your hw average, because it makes a difference at the end. The best teacher I ever had.

He is a great teacher. If a student does not pass it is his/her own fault. This man really knows math and he teaches it well. Although he's tough, you should never be surprised for test/quiz time, because he gives you suggestive problems to do. Also when you pass his class, you pass with confidence for the next level.

Mr. Barnett is a great teacher. He explains things in more than one way, so that you can understand it. He is always available during office hours to help you. His tests/quizzes can be a bit hard, but if you know the material and study, you should do fine. An A is attainable in his class as long as you are willing to put the time into the class.

Great instructor in my opinion. Uses multiple examples and is willing to spend extra time on a concept when needed. Great at holding students accountable. Tests were fair and homework was sufficient. Would recommend this instructor to those that want to learn.

Very willing to help and works 1 on 1 if needed. Moves really fast, so missing a class is like missing a chapter. Drops two quizzes and counts final as one low test grade if its higher that that test. Must have a hw grade of 80% though. Reopens 5 hw assignments if missed. Very methodical & wants to make sure you understand. I would recommend!

If youre willing to learn take him. His tests and quizzes come right out of the text book.He will give "suggested problems" at the end of each section DO THEM! theyre literally your test and your quiz. He pules problmes from there and just changes the numbers a bit. But its precalc its not easy, so always be there!!!

He was a really nice guy. He's really awesome in his office and you should take advantage of his hours if you need help. He answers questions in class and will help with homework questions. Do your homework and study hard. Also do suggested problems

Honestly he's a great teacher for students who want to learn Math. If you don't understand a topic he will explain it in more than one way to help you. He is the kind of teacher that if you just study your notes and don't do practice problems you will hate, but if you practice at least 3 times a week his class will be that A/B on your transcript

i was late everyday and he never said a word about it. he just gives a lecture and the homework is online. 4 tests and he gives good reviews. great teacher.

He teaches fast but lays everything out so you can understand IF you're paying attention. He does examples from the book most class. Miss something? Ask and he'll take time to explain it to you. Lots of homework, but if you've taken notes and listened, you'll be good to go. Attendance not mandatory but miss a day and you'll have to catch up.

never goes off topic from lectures. if your late or you have to walk out, he doesn't mind. everything is clear and he will let you drop very late in the semester if you have to. best math teacher at the whole school

Professor Barnett is an awesome person. I had gorgeous experience with his class because he is so helpful with students and his teaching is perfect for gaining real knowledge in math. Truly, I wish if all my professors like him!!

Amazing professor! I loved my experience with him. He is the best! make sure to take him, I took him for two classes in the same semester. Yes those two classes were very difficult but he was very helpful and respectful.

You have to watch the lecture videos, but if you email him questions he is quick to answer and is easy to understand. He doesn't give time limits for anything other than practice tests and the work load is reasonable. I personally hate math, it is my worst subject but I was able to pass his class with an A. A good choice for online learning.

Awesome Professor will help any way possible. Always at his office and encourages you to go. He loves when you have questions. I took him for differential equation it was hard but he was very helpful but you got to work for your grade

The best teacher I have ever had. He explains the material very well, loves to answer any questions even the stupid ones, with wonderful respect. There were 5 exams and the final exam, he replaced the lowest one, with the final. I loved his class and, I wish I can take him again.

15 HW assignments (NO LATES, or else ZEROS), participation points if you submit an answer to a exit ticket question before you leave a session, 4 exams, and a final exam. He would give a drop to one of the lowest exam scores if you get +75% of the overall HW and +75% of overall participation. Course itself is not easy, but he helps you with it alot

Great professor!! I would recommend taking him. I was very hesitant with taking him in the beginning but it was a risk I don't regret. He is an amazing professor and loves what he does!

Mr. Barnett was one of the calmest, nicest professors I've ever had. He has infinite patience and makes everything so easy. We did 2-3 projects, had homework due once a week & took abt 3-5 tests. He basically did the projects with us in class and the tests are what's on the study guide. The students who complained gave minimal effort.

Overall an amazing professor I highly recommend. I took discrete math with him and he was a tough grader but his lectures were the lectures I've ever had for any class. Extremely smart man and was quick to respond to emails and office hours. He is a tough grader but is clear in explanation. Be prepared to work hard for the A. I would take him again

This professor is very knowledgeable and respectful. All of his tests and quizzes are based on what he went over in class, nothing overly difficult or harder than problems done in class. Quizzes are easy if you take good notes. Tests the same. Final exam was problems from tests throughout the semester, and he lets you know that.

Professor Barnett has a specific teaching style. If you engage with it, the class works well. Use unstuck AI for study prep - it's a great complement to the textbook and lectures.
