This guy is really cool, i can relate to him, he's kinda like a peoples teacher, he wants students to do well in his class, i highly recomend this teacher for anyone interested in this class, really easy too!!

Excellent professor, tells stories about history that will keep you awake and eagar for more! Watch out for the multiple choice exams though, some questions are hard to anticipate. But he is lienient on essays, don't worry about a few spelling errors...

Great teacher. I first took him for a summer course, and he was really nice and tests were easy. Plus, he is lientent on absences. A major plus is that he is just a really nice guy, so class seens very relaxed and comfy.

He's really cool. I can only recommend his class - I'd retake it if I could for more credits. Tests are challenging, but only if you don't study AT ALL. Sometimes somewhat boring - but again, this is outweighed by his teaching style. Very cool guy.

He is overrated on this site. You have no idea what is on test. The questions on the test are made to confuse you. But he is a good guy who offers lots of Ex. credit.

Yes, some questions on the tests can be a little tricky and in no way predictable but the amount of EASY and fun extra credit will more than make up for the incorrect questions on the tests!!! He is the best teacher ive had and he'll make you LUV history!

Tests are soooooooooo hard but he gives lots of ec so you can get an A even if you fail them all. He knows his stuff, and is funny but he will keep you till the last minute.

HISTORY IS NOT A SUBJECT I WOULD TAKE IF I DIDN'T HAVE TO! SCOTT CAMERON MAKES THE NIGHT ENJOYABLE. HE'S A VERY STIMULATING TEACHER. HIS EXAMS ARE NOT THE EASIEST HE DEFINITELY HITS POINTS FROM EVERY ASPECT. HE GIVES PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITY TO DO EXTRA CREDIT.

Great Teacher. Made History come alive. Lots of note taking. Class is demanding. Textbook used is not very clear at times. The time period covered should be shorter. Lots of chances for extra credit. Would take him again when my life wasn't so demanding. Loved the class.

Very great teacher, has a great sense of humor and knows his stuff. You'll defintely be entertain in his class. Such a nice guy!. the class will requires a lot of reading but he offers A LOT of extra credit so do those and you'll be fine. 3 tests, 3 essays, one in each test. tough mult. choice though, essay are vague question so it not so bad.

I'm not interested in history but Cameron made the class fun & interesting. He has great powerpoint presentations & uses humor to keep the class engaged. DO ALL THE EXTRA CREDIT OFFERED - I didn't do well on Tests but I did all the extra credit and walked out with an A.

Very good teacher, very clear in his explanations, I took the 4 week summer course, so it was very crammed. BUT do ALL OF THE EXTRA CREDIT. I got a 62 on my midterm, did all the video extra credits, one Museum, went everyday, and took the final without much studying, and came out with a "B" Also, I never touched my book. waste of money...

really nice teacher, is willing to help if you ask. DO EXTRA CREDIT!!! he gives you tons. STUDY, his tests can be hard (mostly the multiple choice) he tells you your essay question, gives you 5, takes 3 out of those 5 then you choose one. so study 3 and u gurantee yourself one of the essays.

Excellent teacher, highly recommended. Do the extra credit definitely. You have 2 choices in this class: Try, or dont try. If you try, you get an A, if you dont, you get an F. Tests are not easy, but extra credit makes up for it, as long as you are at least trying. Extremely helpful and very clear.

Do the extra credit. Powerpoints were really interesting. Tests were a little hard. mulitple choice with an essay. Lectures dont really have much to do with the tests, so the book is a must. But overall he is a good teacher

Mr. Cameron is a great teacher. He really cares about his students and easy to get along with. He makes the class very fun and has a sense of humor. Tests are hard, but if you read the book you will be fine and the essay is important.He gives numerous opportunities for extra credit. He's an awesome teacher and a great guy!

I thought Scott was a nice caring guy. I would take him again. His test for me were pretty hard, but there is a lot of extra credit that is fun to help out with more point to pass his class- and HE WANTS you to pass so is helpful in that area. For me, I am not to interested in history thats this far back, but there were a few new things I learne

Cool guy, but hard class. His power point presentations are interesting, but they don't help much for the tests, which are 70 M/C and a 5 paragraph essay worth 30 pts. His questions are WAY hard, but he offers a lot of extra credit, and that's how I got an A. He doesnt give any homework though, so that was nice.

Makes his lectures fun, throws in some jokes. He really tries to make the class fun. He knows his stuff tho. The class is annoying if you have a "I KNOW IT ALL" kinda person in it. Otherwise he is great, but make sure you study for the tests!

He is great. He knows what he's talking about. he lectures ALOT tho. by the end of class, your hand hurts so much! His tests are incredibly hard, and he makes your write an essay too. You should get an A if you do the extra credit. theres a lot so take advantage of the different extra credit options!

Real good guy. Tests are hard, but if you do the extra credit (which is ALOT) and get D's on the test, you will still get a B or A. He really cares about his students and will help you out no prob. The class is a big lecture, but no homework! I will be taking him again for world history. A++++++++++++++++

His tests were so hard. No matter how much I studied I always ended up with a D. But he is very nice and gives lots of extra credit, trip to the museam and book report is the majority of the extra credit points Overall I recommend the class.

Very nice guy, tests are hard but if you study you should do fine. if not there is tons of extra credit. my main problem with the class is that he goes off topic for long periods of time and then doesn't have time to teach the actual material and has to cut out or speed through portions of lecture.

Cameron is an awsome teacher that loves what he teaches. He's a pretty chill guy and offers so much extra credit that you can get an overall C and you will get an A in the class. There are three tests worth 100 Pts. and that's it. He teaches with PPT and Movies. Super Highly Recommended!!!!!!

Took the summer class. Very good teacher... big history buff but makes it interesting. Does PowerPoint and Movies. Must read book to do well on test. Do ALL EC. Let us take home part of the test. Was very leinient in changing class schedule to accomodate for short class.

Pros: Real nice guy, good lecturer, easy to listen to. Provides exam outlines. TONS of extra credit. Cons: Lectures/study notes (dates, concepts) contradict the textbook often. Knows some stuff well, but there's too much he doesn't. Often, a little research showed him to be wrong. Glosses over alot (hurts for tests). Slanted against Christianity.

Overall he's a good teacher. There's 300 points total in the class but he offers up to 100 points of extra credit. I got B's on all of the tests but I had roughly 40 points of extra credit and ended up with an A in his class. He uses powerpoints in every lecture which keeps things interesting . He's a nice guy and is very knowledgable. 8.5 / 10

Only 3 exams you can pass if you show up take notes and read the required chapters. He offers a lot of extra credit so there is no reason you can't easily get a B. If you are interested in the subject he has many stories to share. If you just want an easy class he's the one to take.

So easy its not even funny. I took him over summer I did not study once and got an A. He offers a ton of extra credit I did none outside of class. Some of it is as simple as taking notes on a film in class. Easy A!

if you have the slightest interest in history (euro) take this class- he is awesome- easy A if you do extra credit (test are challenging, but you get essay ?'s up front so you know what to study)- He makes the class go by quickly- sometimes gets off track, but it's always extremely interesting....highly recommond

Cameron is an excellent teacher who makes history fun even for those who don't like it. Entertaining but the tests are book-based so make sure to read it at least a little. Lots of extra credit, this will make up for quiz scores. Tests are 70 multiple choice q's and 1 essay each which he told us about. Final was take home. Highly recommended.

Cameron is a decent guy, but an awful teacher. He likes to talk, a LOT. Study guides are useless. Exams are ridiculous, and the guy doesn't curve. READ THE TEXT & STUDY. He asks specific questions from the book! Essay + multiple choice for all tests. Not a teacher I'll ever take again.

Cameron is one of the worst teachers at Moorpark. Attendance is mandatory. Notes and study guides are pointless. Always keeps you late. Loves to hear himself talk. Take Geeslin for history. Avoid Cameron!

A good teacher if your reading is fast and your memorization is sharp. You DEFINITELY wanna read the book, as his tests involve a lot of the book readings. His lectures help but are not the entire material. Definitely your class if you're passionate about history.

I don't know what everyone's talking about --- this guy is one of the worst teachers I've ever had. His powerpoint lectures are virtuously useless, because (1) they don't make sense and (2) nothing he talks about shows up on the tests anyway. The only reason I got a good grade was because I read the textbook and did some extra credit. Stay away.

Very Intelligent Man. Boring Professor. Virtually nothing from class is on the exams.his study guides are useless.Asks a lot of trick questions on the tests. READ EVERY CHAPTER if you want good grades on the tests. BUT he gives RIDICULOUS amount of Extra Credit. So getting below a B is almost impossible.Will keep you late for night classes.

Great teacher. You will learn a lot in his western civ class, but it will require you to study. Makes class interesting and is very clear about how grading works and what is required. Text is a must. Show up to class and do your reading and you will be fine. Offers quite a bit of extra credit. I would take him again!

Super easy. He gives a ton of extra credit, which makes it very easy to get an A. He knows a lot of information, and makes the class very interesting. However, the book was useless. His tests are based off of study guides and handouts. His night classes are a bit long. I strongly recommend taking this class!!! Very good professor.

This professor definitely makes history interesting and offers ridiculous amounts of extra credit. There are 3 tests/ semester. The multiple choice section is relatively hard and requires knowledge of the study guide events. Essays are take home and really easy. definitely recommended as both a pretty easy class and a good teacher

He spends more time preaching his liberal politics than teaching European history. He doesn't seem to know what he's talking about when it comes to politics and he makes a lot of historically inaccurate statements. I never had the heart to correct him on his history but god did I want to sometimes.

Awesome teacher. His lectures are interesting and so easy to follow-even when its late and im dead tired. However, the lecture will not suffice for the test. YOU HAVE TO READ THE BOOK AND STUDY ON YOUR OWN! and he gives enough extra credit. Bottom-line: if you want an A, get atleast B's and C's on the tests and DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!

East A if you do the extra credits - he offers more than enough extra credit assignments to get you an A as long as you keep yourself within the B & C+ range - I got a C on one of the midterms but ended up with an A because of the extra credit. Read your book & attend the classes. Test contains questions exclusively from each source.

A very nice guy. If history is not your subject, I recommend drinking an energy drink before his night class. He is very polite, listens to what everybody has to say, knows his subject, it's just when it comes down for him energizing his class, remember what I said before, drink an energy drink.

Not a good teacher. Most of the time spent preaching politics. Many wrong examples and false explanations. Extremely boring, read the book, do the extra credit and ignore all of his lectures. Bring a laptop or something and play angry birds, it is a better use of time.

He didn't "preach" any politics like others have suggested, but there were a few right wing nuts in my class so I'm not surprised. Tests aren't easy and you must read the book to do well on them, but he offers so much extra credit its easy to get an A. Also he is a very nice person and respects all his students.

Very cool teacher. Does not preach "politics", just talks about current events. You have to read the book because his tests are more on the book than his lectures. He is very lenient towards his grading. I personally would take him again.

I barely read the book at all and missed a few lectures and I still got a B because of all the extra credit he offers. I should have tried harder, obvi, but I enjoyed the class for the most part. He's funny, smart, and enthusiastic. He lets the class out early most of the time and we had a Halloween party! Take his classes!

Teaches urban legends as facts every single week. Google to find out what Tycho Brahe actually died of. Use Wikipedia to write essays. He won't know. Adversary is not spelled advisory. Wasted 30-60 minutes every night (3hr class) talking about sports & weather. Do all the extra credit & show up for class and you'll get a good grade w/out the book.

He is a great teacher. He gives so much extra credit it is impossible not to pass! I received 2 D's and 1 C on his Tests, and I still got an A in the class! He has boring lectures and you do have to show up, as he takes attendance before class begins AND ends. He also grades like a high school teacher. 3 Tests only! TAKE HIM!

EASY A! I took him for Western Civ A and B and as long as you show up, take good notes, do well on the essays for the test and do all the extra credit - A. You don't really need the book or to do too well on the test. Lectures can be boring, but the he's a nice guy and wants everyone to do well.

Horrible teacher. practically nothing he says in his lectures is on the test, he is extremely boring. It's very easy to get an A in his class because he offers so much extra credit, you do have to show up to every class though, you can only miss one class maybe two. Would not reccomend, horrible teacher.

Prof. Cameron is awesome! I took him over summer for 1A & I'm currently taking him in the fall for 1B. The only mandatory points in his class are the midterm and final, and his tests are HARD. However, out of a 200pt grading scale (100pts each test), he offers up to 70pts extra credit. AKA.. do all extra credit possible, and it's an easy A/B!

Cameron is an interesting professor. Very engaging with the students. He has been around the world and knows his materials very well. Like others have said, you can easily bump your grade with the Extra Credit alone. I was coming into the final with a high C and with the extra credit I had done, scathed with an A. The tests are long, so study well.

He is an intelligent guy who gives you more than enough opportunities to succeed. There are a few papers and tests but as long as you pay semi-attention and do the extra credit you will get no lower than a "B".

Cameron is an awesome teacher. If you do some of the extra credit and do ok on the test, you will pass. The Ex credit will cover a whole test grade. Attendance is not mandatory but he does take role and if you miss more than 10, he might drop you. Test are multiple choice/essay and somewhat hard, and half from the lecture and half from the notes

He's a nice guy and a good professor. I would say that as long as you read your textbook, do the extra credit, and pay attention during lectures, it's an easy A. Definitely would take another class of his!

Gives a TON of extra credit points, which can really take the pressure off on the final. This is helpful, because he doesn't assign reading assignments or homework, he lectures (and he is very informative and entertaining), but when it comes to the midterm and final there are many questions that weren't covered in lecture. Great class though

Really nice guy! He only has 3 tests, and they're very hard. I received an A because I literally did every single extra credit assignment, which came out to be like 120pts. Each test is 100pts, so you only need 270pts to get an A. Very easy A if you do all of the extra credit.

I've failed or D'ed every test; still managed to get an A. Do all the extra credit, even the powerpoint presentation. His tests aren't "hard", it's simply the fact that studying history isn't many people's forte. Although class seemed long and tedious, his calm-Dad-like personality makes this class memorable! Take him!

Amazing teacher! If he taught every history course I needed for my req's I would take him. Lectures are long but he makes it interesting to keep you engaged. The tests can be difficult ONLY if you are too lazy to take notes or skim the book. Otherwise, if you're serious about getting a good grade you will do just fine. Plenty of extra credit opps.

Great Professor! I new NOTHING about history. He really teaches well. His tests are hard, so DO the extra credit! Its a must! He is the best history Professor on campus! If you need history or to take something in that category, take Scott Cameron. I have nothing negative to say about him at all!

GREAT prof. His grading rubric is PRECISE, and assigns so much extra credit that you can basically turn a D into an A. Gna miss a class, just email him. Sometimes a little boring but his dry humor is pretty hilarious. Took two of his classes. Remembers everyone. Show up, put some work in, you're gold. Get C's on tests, do extra credit, you win.

Great teacher. i took the 7 week class and he literally talks the whole time. He gives a printed packet of the slides which is helpful and gives tons of extra credit. The tests are tough but if you do all the extra credit youll get an A. Never used the textbook so dont bother.

Mr. Cameron is a really fun teacher. His power points are well done and keeps the class interested with his random jokes. He gives A TON of extra credit. Make sure you do it all because his test can be hard especially if you don't read the material. I would definitely recommend! Little to no HW, and most HW is EC anyway. A few essays.

his lectures make no sense. I'm an A student and no matter how much i studied, i could never get more than a 70 on a test. He acts like it doesnt matter what you get on the test because theres 60 pt of extra credit but if you're shooting for an A you're screwed

Two words: Extra Credit. He offers it, make sure you take it. Otherwise, passing the class with better than a C will be difficult. Nice guy. Lectures are fun and informative. Difficult to know what is on the exams though - questions can be tricky and often seem like they don't come from lecture or the book.

Probably my favorite professor by far at Moorpark and for that matter history class. His class is very interactive and it's never boring. He's very informative and knowledgeable. Fair grader and his extra credit assignments which could be a slide show or a book or museum report are recommended to do if you love history. Recommended please take!

Many incorrect "historical facts" that you could Google to find better information on. If he's hitting his stride telling a long story, you can be pretty sure it's a tall tale. Tests are hard, but there is a ton of extra credit. Show up to class & do all the extra credit and you'll get an A without learning anything.

He's a great guy, I had a lot of fun in his class but you don't learn much from his lectures. The tests are very reliant on the textbook, so if you read that you'll be fine. He gives tons of extra credit opportunities so even if you bomb a test, you'll probably get an A in the class. And make sure t do the essays for the test.

Cameron is a very humorous and kind professor. His class goes by a point system-- although there are few (subjectively tough) exams the whole semester and no homework, he is very generous by giving students numerous extra credit opportunities. Show up to lecture, be punctual and listen. Do the textbook reading on your own time and you'll succeed!

Took professor Cameron last year for HEDM150 and he is a great professor and I enjoyed his lectures. Funny and humorous, people in my class enjoyed his jokes as well. The tests are hard, so read your book. There are many extra credit opportunities that he provides so if you try hard enough and participate you will get a good grade. TAKE HIM!!!!

Keeps you interested by telling lots of stories. If you do the extra credit, which he has tons of, you will easily get an A. None of the tests are cumulative and you don't have to study very hard for them. He answers all your questions thoroughly and is very friendly overall.

Tests are hard because they are based on information from the book and not so much from the lecture but still scored decent grades on them. I do recommend reading the book to study so taking notes during lectures is unnecessary. Extra credit is abundant so it all evens out. I recommend taking him. He does spend the first 30 mins talking A LOT

The tests are impossible, I studied 8+ hours and the highest I got was a 67%. However, he gives a lot of extra credit (Like ALOT) that can help your grade. Hes a cool guy, the lectures can be a lot though. Make sure to read the book or else you wont pass the test. Doesnt use canvas, so you will have to ask him about your grade.

Prof Cameron was one of my favorite professors in moorpark. His ability to story tell is so intriguing and I actually learned so much from his lectures. He does require you to read the textbook his lectures dont fully cover the test material so he assigns chapters. Great humor and kind person hes awesome!

Cameron was a cool teacher. Pretty laid back but still caring. Often got sidetracked during lectures but told good stories. Lectures were a bit dull sometimes. 3 tests- 3 essay non cumulative but pretty hard to study for. Essays were an easy way to earn points. Offers tons of extra credit so you wont have a problem passing the class

Mr. Cameron is a really nice guy and I really enjoyed his class. That being said, be prepared to read. The textbook will put you to sleep. Your grade is basically totally dependent on how well you do on the exams. No one in my class got above a C on their tests. I studied my hardest and still failed. He knows his tests are impossibly hard too.

I DON'T recommend him. He's a nice person, but that's it. Everything we go over in class is completely unrelated to the tests, and he lectures beyond how long class is meant to be. He pushes irrelevant political views on you as well, which is odd considering this is just a history class. The only good thing is that there are some chances for EC.

I have never had to read more chapters out of a textbook in my life. The tests were tested on like 5 chapters at a time, and the lectures were drier than the Sahara Desert. I like history, but this was miserable.

Scott was one of my favorite professors at Moorpark. His tests were hard, but he offers so much extra credit! I personally did minimal extra credit but spent a lot of time studying the textbook and ended up with an A. This class is great for people who manage their time well and are hard workers. Don't take note during his class, otherwise, you will miss his interesting lectures and end up with nothing in your head but several messy notes. That's what I did and just went home reviewing the lectures on google. His exams were not that hard as it seemed from the study guide, very straight forward. Many extra credit opportunities. Great History class, grading scale is very clear and allows you to focus on what matters. Tests consist of 70 questions and a 30 point essay. Lots of extra credit options that will help when it comes to final grades. I didn't read the textbook because his lectures are so information heavy and tests reflected lectures very nicely.

Seriously, he is an amazing professor! As a high school student looking to dodge an AP his class became the best part of my summer. He treated his students with respect and care, and even though his lectures went on long he truly enjoyed teaching and cared about the subject material.

The tests were hard, but the essay portion of the test was easy points (you write the essay outside of class and bring it in pre written in a blue book on test days). There are tons of oppurtunities for extra credit so that makes up for the only grades being the tests.

Check your email everyday because he might not show up to class but sent an email an hour before. A lot of extra credit, so make sure you do atleast two of them. He takes attendance twice during each session for more extra credit. Goes on a tangent for an hour about irrelevant news, so take notes on the textbook for the tests.

He took forever to grade and respond to my emails. His tests were worth 100 points. His assignments that were 5 or 10 points and it was a lot of work for so little points. He also assigned videos to watch and some of the videos didn't have captions, which makes it hard to take notes. He never made letcure videos on any of the assignments.

This professor did not grade my work, or respond to my emails for WEEKS. He only was on his computer grading my work for a couple of hours every other Sunday (ish). I had immense trouble, the exams were insanely difficult compared to the homework, which was a giant load. I worked about 6 hours a week on his weekly assignments, plus any others.

Scott Cameron is not relibale. He either doesn't answer or takes 5-8 days to answer emails. He randomly changes due dates and also adds assignments 2 days before the due date. Since he doesn't answer emails, you are left in the unknown. He also will change the due date 3 hours before the assignment is due, which is very frustrating.

The lectures are very boring and monotone, and there is a lot of reading per week. He takes ages to grade and is unreliable when posting assignments every week. The tests were oftentimes on the smallest details so they can be difficult to study for. However, the class was relatively easy despite everything.

Professor Cameon's class was not really that difficult, just tedious. Notes are required as a homework assignment for every chapter and must be typed, which can be annoying. His lectures are extremely hard to follow and usually do not even cover the chapter material. I found it easier to just read the actual material and go from there.

There is little homework and tests are easy. His lectures however are SO long they are easy you just have to take notes and submit them but a good three hours usually. However you get them like once every 2-3 weeks so its really not bad. Easy class to pass

took this class for credit. straight to the point, couple of videos to report on here and there, LOTS AND LOTS of reading. get ready to buy the world civilizations book (buy on amazon used). couple of quizzes here and there based on the reading but easy class. get ready to write 2 papers for midterm and final. interesting class and subject!

Not a ton of work but the assignments would take long. A lot of reading mainly and lectures but not awful. 3-4 assignments a week. Powerpoint notes, a quiz here and there, discussion and video questions. Each took anywhere from 40-1hr and 30 mins just depends on the work. Overall not a bad class just requires a decent amount of work.

He provides a medium-heavy workload, however, he is a super fair grader and the material is very easy. If you just do the assignments, you will 100% pass. Only thing is that he never responds to Emails. Pretty good class if you're a responsible student.
