Eaiest teacher ever. Take his class. Exam is only power point material. No tricks. There are clicker questions & he does index card quizzes. He gives bonus points when attendance is low. He's funny and great eye candy. He also shares interesting random facts about life.
For those of you taking 1201, do not look at the reviews for his 1001 class. He is still a great teacher, but his class is NOT EASY. You need to take notes on both what he says and what is on the board. There are 4 exams and a final totaling 95% of your grade. Class participation is worth 5%. Good teacher and class, but understand you have to work.
Lectures can be a little boring. The material also seems like a lot when it is first presented. He makes it pretty clear what will be on the test. If you know the notes pretty well then you will do fine on all the test. Very intimidating if you have to speak to him face to face. Never saw him smile once.... ever.
Dr. C is an amazing teacher! I had him for 1001 this semester and I'm taking him again next semester. He is very clear in his lectures, and he makes the material easy to understand. He is very nice, and really good eye candy. He can be a little intimidating, but he is a nice guy. But do not use your phone, headphones, or sleep/talk in class.
Very easy class and easy to understand. The material is straightforward and the tests are easy if you read his power points. You can't talk or sleep in class because he isn't afraid to throw you out. You also have to go to get quiz grades and take in class tests.
BIOL 1201 students-- don't base your opinion off of 1001 reviews. He is a great prof and will try his best to help you, but the material isn't always all that easy. As long as you go to class and take good notes you'll do fine. Crousillac is generally a good guy but can come across as a little cocky. & rude. He's not afraid to throw you out, beware!
Crousillac makes Biology easy and explains more than one time so everyone gets the concept. The tests aren't easy, but aren't insanely difficult. The notecard he gives in class really help your grade so you need to go to class.
1201 is NOT an easy class. You HAVE to study HIS notes & attend class (he gives attendance quizzes). Overall, the class wasn't terrible! It didn't take up too much time, & his lectures can be entertaining because of his arrogant attitude. He wasn't very approachable, but was willing to make adjustments throughout the semester to help the class.
Class is easy for a very complex course. He breaks complex things down into simple explanations, which was very effective. He was very helpful. He held review session the class before each exam. Textbook was used often because of the figures that you had to know. 4 exams: multiple choice, true/false, essay. The essay was easy.
He made it really easy to get an A in his class. He tells you from the beginning that he tests straight from his notes. All you have to do is attend lecture and pay attention. He wanted to make sure everyone did well. Held an in and out of class review session, put his lectures online, and hes funny. And he's not bad to look at.
Took 1201 during the summer. Test questions are straight from the notes. If you keep good notes and pay attention in class you dont even need the book. No homework. Theres an easy bonus question on every test
Crousillac is by far the best biology teacher I've ever had. He is super straight forward with the material and willing to help any student so long as the student shows a desire to learn. He will call students out on not paying attention, but overall, he's a great professor. His test are straight from the notes and aren't hard if you study.
GREAT teacher. Always willing to explain and help in any way he can. He gives the notes on Moodle so you can follow along in class, listen to his explanation, and write down his examples. Going to class isn't completely necessary but he gives notecard quizzes that count for a participation grade. Definitely wants to help you to succeed.
He is a wonderful lecturer, but his exam are very specific and not easy, and his office hours are not very helpful. He is very strict on students' behavior. His class is funny. The only reason I take him because my BIOL 1001 instructor didn't teach this course.
I took bio 1201 during the summer. His lectures were very good. He used great examples and kept things interesting. Take the class seriously though. He will call you out our make you leave if you sleep in class or talk a lot. He's a great teacher and will help however he can. He never leaves a student not understanding the material.
By far my favorite teacher at LSU so far. He makes extremely helpful real life examples with almost everything he teaches you. Very helpful and very clear. Definitely take Crousillac! Makes human physiology very interesting.
Literally my favorite teacher here at LSU. Super chill, very approachable. Class was easy not because it's an easy class but because he keeps things interesting and he's an amazing teacher! You will not go wrong taking his class I promise!! Also, don't even worry about a text book because everything you need to know he tells you in his powerpoints!
Tests are mostly lecture and power-point related. Makes the material easy to understand and humorous to learn. doesn't take any from anybody-if you break the three rules you're kicked out.
Hes a really good teacher but his class isn't easy. You'll need to study and you don't have to come to class, but the class will be a lot easier if you do. He really likes what he does and they way he lectures is clear and helpful. I actually liked going to class(which is rare). You don't need the textbook. He's super cool and its a good class.
Scott rocks. As someone who doesn't enjoy science, he makes it easy to learn. He will tell you what he expects of you and as long as you do that, you'll be fine. DONT FALL ASLEEP IN CLASS- he will ask you to leave. Take additional notes from the power points and study the learning objectives and you should make B's or higher on the tests.
Great professor. He really incorporates a lot of humor into his lectures and keeps you zoned in on what he's saying. He knows a lot more than what he's talking about and really wants to see his students succeed. Tests are easy if you study his PowerPoints. He gives in-class pop quizzes.
Great teacher! Clearly explains the material so that it is easy to understand, does not rush through any of it, is available for any questions you have. Grading is simply 3 test along with a non-cumulative final.
Class is really easy to pass as long as you do the learning objectives. His powerpoints are all you need to pass. Test questions come straight from the powerpoint. Coming to class really helps to make an A, even tho coming is not mandatory. He is very serious about class and will not hesitate to kick you out. You should definitely take his class!
Pretty amazing teacher. Loves his job and it shows. Uses real-world examples whenever possible. Understands difficult concepts so well that he makes them seem easy. Gets excited about teaching and makes you excited about learning. Not terrible to look at, either.
Coolest and funniest professor I've ever had. However, there are only 4 tests, so if you don't do your best on one or two tests, you're basically screwed. STUDY HIS NOTES and you should be fine. He really wants everyone to understand. I hate science and I loved this class if that says anything about him.
Crousillac is an amazing professor! Keeps class engaging and gives "pop quizzes" that count for credit, not correctness. Although attendance is not mandatory, I highly recommend going as he really explains the notes and reviews test-like questions. Has a great sense of humor, and won't tolerate people who cut up and disrupt class.
If you do the practice homework that isn't counted for credit you'll pass every exam. Attendance isn't mandatory and really isn't necessary although very helpful. I skipped at least one class for every test and still got an A.
I could not stand this teacher. He was very rude to many students in the class, and really didn't teach the material that well. He also made me feel somewhat stupid when i went to see him outside of class... DO NOT TAKE.
An average day in Crousillac's class: the hot Dr. C sitting with his feet propped on a desk and explaining bio and you browsing reddit because tests are directly from the notes & straightforward. If you can study, you'll pass. Little rude but you'll get over it. Reminds me a lot of House.
By far the driest professor I've ever had, but he's a good teacher and really good at providing examples. The final is non cumulative, and the tests are 50 mult choice. Super straight forward.
Nothing really easy about this professor. I enjoyed his class and lecture. Exams were tough, he wasn't clear about what was going to be on exams. Just study everything and hope you studied the right stuff.
Loved loved loved professor Crousillac! His lectures were so clear and explanatory. He used real life explanations to make it easier to understand. His test were a true test of your understanding of the material not memorization. Easy A if you put the time into understanding the material. Super sarcastic and funny, definitely take him for BIO2160!
Absolutely loved Dr. C! Although he can come off as arrogant, he truly enjoys what he does and teaches in an enthusiastic way. He gave 4 quizzes (the class before the test) and 4 tests. The tests and quizzes can be tricky, but if you can fully understand the concepts he talks about in class you'll be fine. If you have the chance to take him, do it!
Super funny dude. He never looks at the powerpoint when he is explaining his info, so you can tell he really knows what he is talking about. He gives 5 in class quizzes all year, but they are random. I struggled a little bit with someone of his test questions, but other than that, he is straight forward with providing you with the info needed!
Dr. Crousillac was hands-down the best professor I've had at LSU. He's incredibly smart, and relates complex biological concepts to things we're all familiar with. His tests are straight-forward; the slides he posts on Moodle contain about 75% of the material, the other 25% he says in class, so pay attention. Definitely take him!
He is actually really rude. He doesn't really look like he wants to be teaching so it makes the class drag on longer. He is unclear on what exactly he counted in our overall grade.
My favorite professor at LSU. I hate biology and Crousillac made me enjoy it. He's hilarious, and uses really helpful analogies so difficult concepts make more sense. His lectures are on Moodle and contain a good bit of information, but he goes into more depth in class. He is really helpful and thoroughly answers questions, take him for sure!!
He does not explain topics clearly. His study guides are consistently wrong. He is smart, but he speaks to his students as though we already have our doctorates. He gave us a paper to write four days before our final exam. He is extremely tough!!
If you are willing to put in the effort this class requires, then you will make a good grade. You need to know the material very well for the tests, but his test really aren't trying to trick you. You'll have 4 tests, 4 quizzes, and homework online (super easy). Crousillac was a great teacher and explained things really well! Would take him again.
Dr. C was a really great professor. I thoroughly enjoyed this class, the material is just so interesting and he is so good about giving real world examples to explain difficult concepts. The only downside to the class is the homework which is just time consuming and not really that hard. Definitely recommend him!
Dr. C is a pretty cool guy and an interesting enough teacher, but Physiology is just a difficult class. It helps to go to class and there are Connect Assignments between exams. The exams are pretty tough and require a few days worth of studying. He is funny but doesn't hesitate to call out people in class.
The best BIOL1202 teacher on campus. Very very straightforward class. The tests are ONLY on the powerpoints and nothing else and the final exam is NOT cumulative. If you pay attention in class and take some notes you can do very well. Dr. Crousillac is only a teacher not a researcher so he puts 100% of his effort into teaching and it shows.
Pretty funny guy, serious about no talking, phone use or headphones. He's there to teach and doesn't take being disrespected lightly. Super cool teacher though. Ends class 10 minutes early almost everyday and tests are straight from the powerpoint. Some questions are a little tricky though. Highly recommend
He does a great job explaining the material. I took it as a summer course and barely missed an A. He is truly passionate about his subject matter and will try his hardest to help you. Never used the textbook and attendance wasn't required but you should go if you want good notes. Tests can be tricky if you don't study.
He's a great professor. If you have to take this class, take him. He doesn't take attendance but you NEED to go to class to understand the material. Tests are challenging but as long as you study the notes you should be fine.
Crousillac is by far my favorite teacher at LSU. Tests are fair, study the powerpoints and take notes in lecture and you can make an easy A. I actually enjoyed going to his class. Hates talking and don't fall asleep in his class because he will literally never forgive you.
Crousillac is easily the best Bio 1202 teacher there is at LSU. Tests are straight from the powerpoints, and he does a review session before every test on top of SI review sessions. He is straightforward, and his class is not impossible. Tests can be tricky, but if you study you can get an A. Go to class because there are random quizzes.
He explains things really well some of the material is just confusing. If you ask for help he will help.
He explained the material very well and the material on the exam reflects what he has lectured on. He has easily been one of the top 3 teachers I have ever had.
Easily my favorite professor so far at LSU. His lectures are interesting and he uses examples that help you grasp the information. He was a demeaning to me during his office hours but he holds a review session before quizzes and is nice during questions then. STUDY FOR THE QUIZZES. Each quiz question is worth 2 test questions as far as points go!
What's on the slideshows is on the tests. He is very clear when he teaches and if you miss a class you can catch up by going over the slideshows posted to moodle. He cares about the students and wants to teach. If you study the slideshows a couple of days before the test there is a good chance you will make an A.
He was super straight forward about what he expected from you. It's good to go to class, because then you know more on what to focus on when the test comes around. All test material is taken straight from notes so you could just read through to catch up if you miss class. Biology not my strong suit, but he was helpful.
Crousillac is an excellent professor whose lectures are easily understood. He takes really difficult concepts and breaks them down into laymen's terms. He posts all of his power points online and the test come straight from them but if you attend lectures he'll likely give you a better understanding so you can get a better grade on the exams.
Crousillac was an awesome teacher, and he was very clear about what was going to be on the test. As long as you go to class and pay attention and study a bit you should be fine. The only thing I didn't like about him was that he does not budge even the slightest bit on your grades. I had an A- and was only .02 from an A, but he wouldn't bump it up
monotone, yet shows a true interest in his topic. he is a solid teacher but not a very interesting personality for class, day dreaming during lectures is highly possible
I took him over the summer & his lectures were straight to the point. The exam will literally be EVERYTHING FROM THE POWERPOINT. I like the examples he provided and he also checked for attendance by giving out weekly pop quizzes (very easy). OH, he will call you out if you come 5 min before class ends. I recommend him still!
He is the best professor I have had at LSU. He teaches you all the information you need to know for the test. Study the information from his power points and you will do well.
Exams are worth 95% & quizzes are 5%. There're 5 exams. Quizzes are not graded for accuracy. The key to passing this class is attendance. Crousillac takes the hardest concept and made it understandable. His exams consist of his lectures and powerpoint, which is uploaded on moodle. Record his lecture, because there will be details that you miss.
Probably one of the best Biology teachers I have ever had. 10/10 would take his class again if I could.
Dr. Crousillac made physiology extremely interesting and easy for me when I had heard horror stories about people taking it elsewhere. His classes are not mandatory, but if you attend class and pay attention you'll find most of it is on the exam. He has a unique ability to make hard concepts easy to understand. Wish I would have taken him for 1201!
He gives extremely relatable examples for concepts that I've never understood before, so make sure to write everything he says down. He's open to all questions during lectures and won't make you feel dumb. You'll have an advantage on exams if you attend all lectures & take good notes. He's really cool, just don't talk in class. be respectful!!
Loved Dr. C! His lectures were very straightforward and puts all the powerpoints online. You have to go to class because he gives the occasional pop quiz, but his lectures can be entertaining and he's a great teacher. Memorize the powerpoints and you will get an A. Best bio professor I've taken.
Powerpoints are all online, take notes for clarification. It's basic bio, I've learned it all on some level in high school but it's a little more in-depth. He relates lessons to real life situations and relatable things, so it is interesting to me, a person who hates science. A great guy. Pretty funny sometimes, too. Cancels class occasionally.
Kinda boring. Do homework. Easy grade
Scott is an amazing teacher. He's super funny but doesn't joke every single class. He has resting witch face severely but if you have a question he'll answer it. Going to class isn't required, he has slides on everything. Going to class helps you have a better understanding. Your whole grade is based on four tests and some homework so study study!
This is my second time taking Dr. Crousillac and to put it simply, he is the best. Every new concept he teaches you is paired by real life examples to help you remember. I still remember "diastole means ventricle relax bc when you die you relax." You need to go to class to understand the material!!
exam questions come straight from his lectures. No textbook used, but he elaborates heavily on powerpoints so just getting them off moodle won't help if you pick up slowly. Questions can be tricky on exams but he gives a review before each one.
Awesome person and teacher, he posts the power points with all notes but goes into more detail in class and helps you understand concepts. He's good, the class is just hard and requires studying.
He is honestly on of the best teachers. He breaks down all of the concepts to, sometimes, single sentences so you can understand. He really wants to make sure you know the material, not memorize. Hmwks are easy points and test material is based on ppt and what he says in class. Tests aren't tricky and always straight to the point. Loved the class!
My favorite professor at LSU. Dr. Crousillac is hilarious, and makes biology easy to understand!
NEVER talk to your friend in this class. He will point you out and sometimes make you leave. His lectures are boring and I have asked him a few questing and he made me feel SO STUPID! I gave up on asking him questions because I felt so embarrassed and then that is when I started not doing very well. Good luck
He is awesome! He knew that the class average was kinda low so let us rock paper scissor him for bonus points. Really nice guy gives lectures that are informative and often funny & full of real life examples. Wish I could take him for every science course. Gives full out reviews of exact Q's on exams beforehand. Does have mean face but is nice guy.
I took Crousillac for human phys, and I really enjoyed it. His lectures are easy to pay attention to because he relates the information to real-life, which helps you apply it and understand it better. He's also really funny. Go to class and STUDY his powerpoints and you'll make an A. His tests are a lot of application so know the material well.
Scott is an amazing professor and I would definitely take him again. He is funny and nice. Don't disrupt class, he will call you out.
By far my FAVORITE teacher at LSU. He really helps you understand the information. Attendance is not mandatory but it is recommended. Going to class helps to learn the information a lot. Tests are pretty difficult. Helps students do better as much as he can. Still difficult of a class if you are not a science major.
Dr. Crousillac is a fantastic teacher. He made physiology easy to understand and very enjoyable. Three tests with a non cumulative final and some online homework. I would take him again in a heartbeat!
He may come off as a jerk but he's actually one of the coolest professors at LSU. For the love of God do NOT sleep, talk, or wear headphones in his class. He is not afraid to kick you out. Would definitely take Dr. C again.
Favorite professor at LSU! Sit up front and record his lectures bc everything he says is important to know, I made an A on every exam once I started recording them, of course you gotta put in the time to study. He's hilarious and explains things in a way that you can picture it in your head, which made studying feel more like a review. 10/10 rec!
He's the best!
Dr. Crousillac actually cares about his job, he's at LSU because he loves what he does. He doesn't check emails, doesn't round up grades. He makes you work for you grade. Go to class and STUDY! Definitely take him if you can.
Tests are very straightforward, all multiple-choice, and contain exactly what is on PowerPoints given for lectures. He gives random quizzes only to check for attendance. Just be sure to show up daily to guarantee a 100% in quizzes. Homework and textbook work is not given. Be prepared to pay attention to details. He emphasizes important details.
Very intimidating at first, but definitely grows on you. If you respect him, he will respect you as well, as he sees you genuinely making an effort. Isn't hilarious outright to class, but can be very funny. Tells truth when says only info on tests is what is covered in ppt - reading helps, but not necessary. Cares about bio & communication.
Grades fair, everyone gets what they deserve. He really tries to help his students understand the material.
Best biology teacher at LSU. When he says his test are based on the power points only, he means it. He gives random quizzes that you get full credit for just by writing your name and an answer on which helps boost your grade! Very straightforward and has very interesting lectures! Love this man.
Great teacher to take for biology. He grades fair and makes sure all of his students understand the material. Attendance is key to succeeding in his class. His lectures and PowerPoint are exactly what is going to be on the test.
I would take this dude's classes again. The tests he does are only on the powerpoints and there is no homework. The SI Sessions really helped to. Go to them! He doesn't like it when you aren't paying attention in his class and he'll call you out on it. And you need to go to class.
Dr. Crousillac is amazing. I love Biology, but he made me love it even more. Recording his class will guarantee you an A.
Easy class. Go to take the quizzes. Don't simply memorize the powerpoints, understand the powerpoints and what is going on and you will make an A. Its not that hard
Amazing professor, I actually learned and understood bio!
Class was chill. Get to leave early majority of the time. Tests questions are straightforward out of the powerpoints, but you would still need to know every single details, even the smallest ones. Showing up is not mandatory, but it best for you. He usually tells you some topics and questions for you to focus on for the test. Quizzes are super easy
such a good teacher. Everything is really clearly explained & if you don't understand then he is always open to questions even during the lecture. His tests are hard but do-able if you put in the effort. class is enjoyable bc I feel like I learned so much & his humor is really dry, so the class was funny. you probably won't do well if you don't go
his lectures are very understanding and if you study his notes and power points really well, you should do fine on the exams. i recommend going to every class because a lot of times he says stuff in lectures that are not on the power points.
In my opinion, Dr. Crousillac is the best of the BIOL 1201 teachers. His explanations of the concepts are easy to understand. Dr. Crousillac's tests are only off the Powerpoints on moodle and he usually puts an extra credit question at the end of the test. Class is mandatory because he gives 5 in class quizzes (He drops the 2 lowest ones) NO HW
He's honestly an amazing professor. All of his lectures are engaging and genuinely interesting to listen to. If you listen to him in class and record his lectures you will do well. You aren't graded on much besides some quizzes that you don't have to prepare for at all and 5 tests. If you study and go to class you should pass with a good grade.
Ole Scotty Crou only gives four test and a final, so it is pretty imperative that you do good on those four test. On the bright side all of his test come directly from his powerpoints and are pretty easy to study for. Don't underestimate the test, however. It's pretty important that you study for them because they contain so much material.
Attendance isn't required but highly recommended. He will put stuff on the test he said in class. He's got a great sense of humor and really knows his stuff. He's been teaching this class forever so go to his office hours for help. He will tell you not to buy the text book. Know the power point front and back and you'll ace all the exams.
Very easy class but you don't learn anything. He doesn't prepare you for the later biology classes. Never available for help during office hours. Overall, not a good teacher.
Go to lectures because he makes analogies in class that can help you understand or he might say something that's not on the PP but he'll add to the test. Teaches concepts, doesn't teach memorization, so you have to study hard. He's passionate about teaching, so he might yell or make you leave if you're disrupting class. kind of ornery
Crousillac was a great teacher. He taught exactly what was necessary and the tests come straight from the PowerPoints. In our hour long class we were rarely held for more than 35 minutes, but he explained everything clearly and thoroughly. I would definitely recommend Crousillac if at all possible!
Post his slides and his test are based off of the slides, however the test are your only grade besides 5 random in class quizzes so you have to do well on them. As long as you study the slides you should do fine. He is funny. There isn't any homework. He hates ear phones and will tell you to get out if you have them in.
All test material comes straight from power points on Moodle. 100% straight forward. Always offers to stay after class to answer questions and tries to make difficult concepts seem more feasible by giving examples that students can relate to. Attendance is kinda mandatory because he gives 7 attendance quizzes but drops 2.
I highly advise to take this professor during the summer. Although it was fast-paced. He ensured you understood the material and wanted his students to truly succeed. The bright side is you don't need to buy a book. The only negative about this class and the professor is he does not round any grades.
He's funny in a cynical way. Give opportunities for bonus points on tests. No tolerance for phones so turn them off and don't get him mad. Easy class, I liked his lectures.
His test were easy, but very specific. Read over the powerpoints 10 times each and you'll do fine. Go to class, he makes it enjoyable (PS. His Jokes Are Funny); also tells you specifically the type of questions he will ask. Always let class out 30 mins early. Only thing bad is that he doesn't round grades.
I loved Crousillac! His tests are straightforward and come directly from his PowerPoints. He tells you what to pay attention to during lecture and explains things in a way that makes sense. Go to class and write down what he says about each of his slides because itll help you study later! Absolutely take him if you can!!!
Crousillac is literally THE MAN!! This is my 2nd time taking him for a class and he was just as amazing as the first. His class is seen as easy because he really breaks everything down to you as simply as he can & He doesn't throw any curve balls on test. He doesn't assign much work - had 4 homeworks and 4 exams including the final. DO STUDY!!!!
I love Crousillac! Go to class (his lectures are pretty funny so it'll be worth it) and write down what he says because that is exactly what will be on the exams which exam are very straight forward. He also holds a review session the class before and bonus to the winner. Con-he doesn't round up AT ALL but pay attention then you and wont need it.
He's funny but can be very rude. Has no patience for people who don't understand his instructions. Tests are taken straight from the powerpoints.
So I took this class in the summer. But from what I've been apart of, Crousillac is a solid teacher teacher. He is mean and blunt though. He also shows no emotion. But the main thing is he gives great PowerPoints and really wants you to learn the material, and test you on it. Test are straight forward and "easy". Take him for sure over anyone else.
Dr. Crousillac is one of my favorite professors at LSU and is an overall amazing teacher. The information / content taught in the class is not easy, so you have to pay attention and go to class. Dr. Crousillac does a great job at explaining concepts and giving many examples which is something, I feel, most professors do not do.
Scott is one of the best professors Ive had at LSU. He is strict about his class rules, but if you follow them you will pass easy. He is very clear about what he wants and that is a blessing among professors.
Crousillac is the man. He cares about the students and the tests are only from information in the powerpoints. He makes the information easy to understand and is very funny so you stay engaged during lectures. He spends the whole lecture reviewing before tests and allows you to ask any questions you have. Overall best professor Ive had.
Dr. Crousillac is the most straightforward professor and he gives very good lectures. Its very clear that he cares about making sure the class is understanding the material, while still treating them like adults. All exam material is directly from lectures and all content is very straightforward. I would certainly take him again given the chance
Super good teacher and cool/funny guy. Know his pet peeves and DONT do them or else he can get a little scary (ear buds). He knows his stuff and goes a little fast during lectures but gives great examples. He is slightly impatient with questions during lecture so id wait till after class. Tests are not bad if you know the powerpoints!
Awesome professor. 10/10 would take again. Attendance isn't technically mandatory but does give occasional participation quizzes to check attendance. Lectures are funny and enjoyable. Test is only over material on powerpoints and powerpoints are posted on moodle. does in class review with Kahoot the class day before the exam.
I'm in love with Crousillac. No, really. He's the best teacher I have ever had at LSU. Class is technically non mandatory but you should DEFINITELY go. He gives really great examples and explains concepts very well. He's interesting to listen to, as well. I had him for BIOL 1201 and 2160. Look him up on twitter- you won't be disappointed.
I would recommend Crousillac for any course he teaches; TAKE HIS CLASSES!!! Such good teacher, keeps even the most boring lectures interesting, no cumulative final. Seriously your best option for whatever he's teaching- he has been my favorite professor thus far at LSU
He is a well-educated professor, really funny, and his powerpoints breaks down the material. But he is intimidating and makes you feel dumb (office hours), his exams cover a lot of material (moves fast), and his class is only quizzes (7 keep highest 5) and exams (5); and the exams make up a lot of the class. I think more free time will help you.
I personally enjoyed his class very much and did not find it very difficult. If you study, but this is the case with most STEM classes. His lectures are enjoyable and he has the right amount of comic relief. The thing that made him stand out to me is that he relates things to everyday life to make things easier to understand.
I love this class!! He is a good professor & his tests are easy if you put in the work. He has powerpoints that are exactly what you need to know for the tests-- don't have to buy the book. He gives quizzes randomly so going to class is a good idea but he is very funny and lectures never last the whole time.
absolutely love this class! He is great at making sure you understand the material, and honestly cares about your grade. His lectures are usually pretty funny and he sometimes gives in class quizzes for attendance points so I highly recommend attending. His tests are fairly easy if you put in the time to study.
Dr. Crousillac is a great professor and his lectures truly reflect that. He gives easy to understand analogies to make things easier for students. Lectures almost never last the whole time as he moves very fast. Only grades in class were 5 attendance quizzes (7 in total but he drops lowest 2), 4 exams and the final. Take him if you can!
HE IS AN ANGEL!!!! Material can be difficult, but he makes so much sense in class. I feel like I have learned more in this one class than my entire college career. Tests are not tricky as long as you can understand his powerpoints, which he posts online for you if you chose not to go to class, BUT YOU SHOULD. Follow his twitter he's hilarious.
My least favorite professor I've ever had. When I went to ask him questions he made me feel so stupid for even asking that! He is sarcastic and some of his jokes are funny. People do well in the class only because of test banks. The homework is pretty easy. You have to study for this class
Dr. Crousillac will take something you spent a month learning in high school and explain it clearly in two slides. He gives a ton of analogies along with his power points so, if you take good notes, all of the material will make enough sense that it'll just be a matter of memorizing it before the test. His final isn't cumulative.
Scotty Crou, my man! His lectures were so funny and actually worth going to. He teaches in a way that makes learning bio so simple. His lectures are usually very fast, never spent a whole hour in there. His tests are straight from the powerpoint lectures, so they aren't bad at all. I feel I learned so much in this class, 10/10 would recommend.
Lectures were awesome that is where I learned the bulk of the information. He is clear about what is on the test and gives bonuses. 10/10 great prof.
His lectures are incredibly dense. There is a lot of information on each slide. You have to go back and re-read the slideshows many times. Overall I'm not a huge biology fan, but he made it way better. Go to class, get the 100% on attendance quizzes (pretty much write your name). He explains things very clearly, it is just a difficult course.
Made biology very easy. Havent taken a bio class since 10th grade and he made it very easy to understand. He makes it clear that you dont need the textbook. Everything you need to know is in the PowerPoints. If its not on there you dont need to know it. Great lectures. Funny guy. Follow his twitter. Taking him again for Bio 2160 next semester.
Dr. Crousillac is the best professor I have had so far at LSU. His lectures are entertaining and he makes the material easy to understand. He has a great sense of humor and is an awesome guy. He puts a lot of work and effort into the class, which is why he expects you to put in some effort too. Best class that I have taken yet. 100% recommend.
Dr. Crousillac is a great teacher. He really cares about teaching and wants his students to excel. He gives everything you need to know on a powerpoint and does a great job at explaining the information. He doesn't give any homework and the final grade consists of 5 tests and 5 attendance grades. By far the best 1201 teacher.
His lectures are awesome and his class is very interesting. He loves the material and loves teaching. He has a dry sense of humor and it's funny. In lectures he gives useful tips to help you understand things better. If you pay attention during lecture and the powerpoints you will be fine. Test 1 and 2 are a lot easier than 3 and 4 so don't slack.
Dr. Crousillac is one of the best science teacher's I've ever had. Gives seven in class quizzes, drops two lowest (so you can miss two). Quizzes are 9% and tests are 91%. 4 tests and a final, the final is not cumulative. Tests are straight from his PowerPoint's and lectures last about 30 minutes.
He is probably the worst teacher that I have taken in college. I learn next to nothing in his class. Very unhelpful and never present during office hours. Seems very lazy and doesn't seem interested in teacher. The only good thing is that his class is super easy because he doesn't teach much.
Only use 4 tests and 4 homeworks for the overall grade. Funny guy. What he says in class is helpful in understanding his notes.
Scott is one of the funniest professors I've ever had (very sassy). His lectures are very interesting, but don't come in late, sleep, wear earbuds, or make noise because he will call you out and kick you out. His tests are exactly from the powerpoints he shows. 7 attendance quizzes but he drops two at the end of the semester. Take him for sure
LOVE SCOTT! Very good prof, very funny and good at explaining material. Would absolutely recommend. He doesn't take sh-t though, so don't try to get him to curve your tests at all because it will NOT happen. As long as you pay attention in class and study a bit outside of the lecture you'll be just fine.
I loved Crousillac he is a great professor and I loved his class! He's really good at explaining complicated things in a way you can understand with examples. He gives a lot of additional information in class besides what is on the power points and his exams are pretty straight forward. Take good notes in class and you should be fine!
One of my favorite professors! Tests are application and pulled from lectures. Pay attention in class and take good notes. He gave us study guides to prepare for upcoming exams that were so helpful. BEWARE he will not round up final grades so go to class for the pop-quizzes. Taking him again for BIOL 1202. Highly recommend.
There are 7 random "quizzes" (as long as you answer you get the credit) and he drops 2. He posts the slides on moodle and does not assign any homework at all. As long as you know the powerpoint really well you'll make an A.
Best choice for BIO1201. Go to class for the lecture notes and random flashcard quizzes for attendance. (There's like 7 and he drops 2.) He goes fast, but explains it well and barely ever keeps you the whole hour. Everyone I know liked him a lot. I took this class before I changed my major and I don't even regret it that much bc it wasn't that bad.
Honestly a great teacher! Best biology teacher ive had at LSU!! i definitely recommend this class. I took him for both 1201 and 1202
Dr. Crousillac is probably the most relax professor at LSU. He is hilarious and is known for his twitter. This class will probably last about 25 minutes on average and he's done. Plus, there is no homework and he does bonus pop quizzes. His test can sometimes be misleading but I would recommend taking him!
Crousillac is a very easy teacher and because of that, you will not learn much. I am struggling in my later classes because he did a very poor job of teaching the materials. Not recommended if you actually want to learn the materials and be prepared for later courses.
Great teacher that usually doesnt take the whole hour. Tests are based entirely on the powerpoints.
Crousillac is the MAN! He may seem a little mean at first, but if you put forth effort and show that you care, he will do anything to help you. Follow his directions because he doesn't tolerate stupidity. Tests can be a little tricky but come DIRECTLY from the PowerPoints and only cover things he talked about in class. Never takes the whole time.
He is very boring and doesn't seem to care much; however, his class is incredibly easy. Don't expect to learn much though.
Don't fall asleep in his class. You'll get kicked out. Great professor though.
Gives a few pop quizzes for participation points, drops one. Hilarious guy, pretty laid back except hates talking during lecture and earphones. Lectures are great, he makes the material easy but you still have to actually study for the tests. Definitely taking Crousillac for Bio 2. Do not waste your money on a textbook, you dont need it
Dr. C is a super cool dude and is really good at what he is doing. He makes his lectures really interesting. He gives out random attendance checks throughout the semester but if you pay attention in class these will be super easy. his tests are hard, but if you study the power points and go to SI these will be a breeze
The first bio class in my life where I have learned anything at all. Crousillac is GREAT & explains difficult concepts in a way that you understand. Other biology teachers have read straight from powerpoints & used weird jargon without explaining any of it. He explains everything. Record the lectures because what he says WILL BE ON THE EXAM.
The best professor I have ever had. He is so smart and understands the material so well but explains it in the easiest way possible. He lectures from his powerpoint and they are extremely helpful because there isn't a textbook and he will sometimes tell you specific test questions. Study powerpoints, Kahoot quizzes, and online quizzes for the tests
Crousillac is the best. He explains things very well-good notes from his lectures are gold. Wish he taught more upper level bio courses, Id take them all.
Extremely rude guy who is bland when teaching and has some good jokes, but very few. Says you dont need a textbook, but puts stuff on the test that he didnt teach. Many like him but hes not for me or a lot of people I know. Says he cant sleep and teaches like it. Gives one point of bonus per test but it benefits you none. Goodluck on kahoots!
He explains everything in simple ways that are easy to understand. These are hard concepts but he makes them feel very easy! Tests are pretty straight forward, he doesn't try to trick you. But you do have to study and pay attention in lecture. He's pretty accessible outside of class if you ever need help. Also pretty funny guy! Def recommend!!
LOVED Dr. Crousillac. Anyone who says he's boring or a bad teacher, doesn't pay attention. He's funny and his lectures were interesting. He gives 10 attendance quizzes per semester but drops 3 so attendance is sort of mandatory (but only for 7 days of the year). But really, I never wanted to skip bc lectures are actually fun and give useful info
Scott Crousillac is a great teacher and is hilarious. He teaches the material very well and gives great real life examples. He is probably the best professor I have had. He gives Kahoot quizzes with questions that are similar to ones on the test. I highly recommend taking this class.
I have never commented on rate my professor, but Crousillac DESERVES to be recognized. He is a phenomenal professor and his lectures are straightforward and very entertaining. If you study, the exams are very fair and pretty easy. You are missing out if you do not take him!
Honestly probably the best professor Ive ever taken. He explains things in ways that are easy to understand because he gets that this is mostly new to everyone. He genuinely wants his students to do well. Take good notes in class because some things not on the powerpoints show up on tests! This is the 3rd class Ive taken with him!
A great professor. With the coronavirus, he's been really easy and accessible and I really appreciate everything he has done for us and our class.
Scott is a really cool and understanding teacher. He does not like headphones, sleeping, or being late. He will throw you out with no hesitation. Tests are sort of the same as the power points. There are attendance quizzes throughout the week so come to class because he will just call a quiz at the end of class with no warning.
Would definitely recommend taking! He made a hard class way easier. Has great lectures but because he doesnt require attendance, he makes sure to say things in his lecture that will be on the test. Sometimes these questions cant be found in the book so not going to class could mean missing out on valuable points.
Dr. Crousillac is a real gem. While he may initially seem intimidating, please know how much he cares about both the material and his students. He makes things as straightforward as possible and isn't trying to jerk you around. Go to class to get the information and study. He's an incredible professor. Take him!
Overall, Dr. Crousillac is an amazing professor. He is very serious and sometimes a little intimidating, but he jokes a lot which helps! His exams are straight to the point and is straight from his lecture powerpoints. He only lectures for a short amount of time, so don't come in late. Also, do NOT wear earbuds in class. You will be sorry if you do
Attendance isn't mandatory since he posts his notes for the whole semester, but he does an attendance quiz on certain days so beware. His tests are pretty easy as long as you ACTUALLY study. STUDY THE POWERPOINTS. The book is not mandatory so again study the powerpoints. There isn't any homework only tests and attendance quiz grades.
Dr. Crousillac's physiology class was by far my favorite class at LSU. I took it as an elective because I am a biology major, but I would definitely recommend taking this class if you have the chance. He is very lecture heavy, but class goes by quick because he keeps the lectures interesting. DON'T WEAR HEADPHONES IN HIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Professor Crousillac is hands down the best biology professor i've ever had! He simplifies all his lectures and gives real life examples for almost every topic! He makes you look forward to going to class, and actually teaches you information you will remember later on in life. If you study, you'll pass. TAKE HIM!
I love Dr. Crousillac, he's funny and a great teacher. He really goes in depth and teaches well. If you go to class, he'll tell you EXACTLY what will be on the tests, and all of the tests should be easy A's, they come word-for-word from his powerpoints, which he posts on Moodle.
Crousillac is one of the best professors I've had at LSU. He really understands the material and explains it very well in class. You will always get out of this class early he never takes the whole class time. His sense of humor is interesting he looks like he hates everything, but trust me he doesnt he's hilarious. Take him you won't regret it.
EASILY the best professor I've ever had. He makes the hardest concepts seem so easy. Truly wants you to succeed & isn't trying to trip you up. And, his sense of humor is top notch. Go to the lectures; you will learn & laugh. Sadly had him during COVID & everything was pushed online (the only time I was ever sad I couldn't go to lecture). TAKE HIM!
When I say this has been my favorite educator in the HISTORY of my entire school career- I mean it. Crousillac is first and foremost absolutely hilarious. He's passionate about his job, the subject, and his students and it shows. Don't ever be afraid to ask questions, usually the more outlandish the better. Super straightforward tests, etc. 10/10.
Dr. C is a great professor. His tests are worth 90% of your grade and there are 5 attendance quizzes, so go to class every day. If you're going to walk into his class 10 minutes late, don't bother going. And turn off your phone's ringer.
Hear me out when I say this, I never write review for any of my professors, but Dr.C has created an exception this time. Dr.C is truly my MOST favorite professor of all time and please x3, GO TO CLASS. It's hilarious, and he made the lectures easier than they look. Me and my friend were so sad when we realize we can't go to his class anymore.. :<
Dr. C is one of the best professors I've ever taken in college! He's up front with all the test material so there's no guesswork, his lectures are to the point, and he's a genuinely funny guy that makes you look forward to going to class. He can be stern with disruptive people so just be respectful and his class will be one of your favorites!
I took Professor Crousillac for Human Physiology during Spring Intersession, the course compressing 5 months of work to just 12 days. Unfortunately, it was all online due to COVID, but I enjoyed it. Dr. C. helped any way he could and was very clear on everything. Couldn't meet him but from his lecture notes seems cool. Highly recommend.
His 2020 Covid class had no "class", and there were only three tests and four quizzes and a final (Non Cumulative). The study material was him talking over slides explaining anything thats too hard to get by yourself and what needed to be studied for the test. Put a little humor into it too. S.i. available for those who need extra help.
Due to COVID, he made everything online with 0 zoom meetings. He posted the PowerPoints and posted the date of the exams which were on Moodle. If you take notes from the PowerPoints and study them, you could easily make an A in the class. The powerpoints aren't boring at all, he's funny. Grading consists of 5 tests, 5 quizzes.
super easy class. all online and no zoom lectures, just recorded lectures. had like 10 graded things, 5 quizzes and 5 exams. all super easy if you look over the material
All online class, no lectures. Powerpoints with audio are posted to Moodle and test dates are set. No midterm or final just 5 exams. Only grades are tests and quizzes. Material isn't too hard, lots of overlap with prerequisites (biology, anatomy). Good if you can teach yourself, otherwise do not take this class.
I had him online but based on his prerecorded lectures he seems like a great guy. Funny and relatable, you just have to take the time to read his notes carefully and think through the material. But he taught things a way that I've never been taught before. Was also very understanding when I had to to take a test late.
Seriously take him if you can. He cares about his students and he actually treats you like humans with lives. And hes a great teacher on top of it all!!!! Plus his Twitter is hilarious
My favorite teacher ever, took him 3 times for bio 1002, 1201, and 2160. He makes you work for your grade but he makes class very interesting unlike other professors who just read of a power point. I recommend him to everyone I know.
Asynchronous online class. Doorknob easy. Read the powerpoints and take the tests. Never actually interacted with the professor.
Loved him. Super nice and his lectures were easy to follow. Gave lots of examples during lectures which made it much easier to understand the material. Do yourself a favor and take Crousillac.
Although everything was online, he was insulting towards students during study zooms. They'd ask questions, and he would tell them they should've learned that from the PowerPoint. There's no extra credit or homework to help bring upgrades after tests and quizzes. Funny but extremely impolite.
If you take this class totally online, it is 5 quizzes and 5 tests. They are all straightforward and taken straight from the PowerPoints he provides. The textbook is a waste of money - he says optional in the syllabus. He gives you three PowerPoints for each exam and there are notes at the bottom of each slide and he also talks on each slide.
My grade was very low due to so much material and very few grades. We have 4 tests and 4 quizzes only. The "covid" class (online) was just slideshows with no actual class or lecture which I liked but It was hard to understand the material just off of the 3-4 lecture slides he gave us.
the class was beyond easy, study your notes, 4 quizzes, 4 exams, 60 minutes for 50 questions on exams, 10 questions for 10 minutes on quizzes. easy class to manage. he did not interact with the class at all, did not hear from him at all, your grade was given each time you submitted something so that is a plus. everything is clear, deadlines too.
Four quizzes and four tests, all multiple choice. He post the material and the TA did zoom study sessions. It is a lot of material esp. if you aren't a science person. But he did not hide the ball. The info was straight forward and given to us to memorize. I hate to be bothered so it worked for me. Quizzes totaled less than 5% of grade.
My class was online, but it was an easy A. It was completely asynchronous. He posted all the material when the semester started. There are only 5 quizzes and 5 exams. All the quiz and exam material was in the powerpoint lectures he posted. As long as you read over them, the exams were easy. I would definitely recommend him!!
Professor Crousillac has very tough exams and he doesn't round up or give extra credit. I spent hours a day studying for his exams just to a C+ in the class because it crams so much Information in the exams and it's just so stressful and he doesn't really care about the students in my opinion.
Can't speak for COVID classes but having taken him for BIO 1, 2, and 2160, this is your guy. Very straightforward class, either learn the material or don't and not do well. Compared to upper-level BIO classes with useless teachers he is amazing. Rather than going into a test blind, you know what you need to learn. He is funny just serious.
This class isn't hard all the info for the tests is straight off the powerpoints. He seems pretty nice but someone gets kicked out for not wearing a mask at least once a period. Don't expect to do zero work and pass but it's not bad for a bio class. Oh and definitely go to class because the notes are pretty much the test.
He is an amazing professor! Lots of explanations and examples. He makes hard concepts easier to understand, and posts keynotes with voice recordings. The exams are straight forward, with little easter eggs of humor to make them more fun. Overall, an amazing professor! I am 100% going to try to take his class again!
I hated Biology all of my life, but Crousillac made it enjoyable. He's a great guy (with a Twitter) and makes the material easier if he feels it's too hard. The tests are all based on the material he teaches. He genuinely loves teaching and interacting with students. There are 4 tests and some attendance quizzes.
Easily my best professor this semester. He makes the material easy to understand and adds humor to his lectures. He even gave students a grade replacement opportunity because he wanted everyone to do well. I used to struggle with biology, but not after this class. I would definitely take him again (sad he's not teaching 1002 next semester).
Dr. C has a gift of explaining complex topics into simple analogies everyone can understand. Don't get the textbook, just study the PowerPoint and focus on what he talks about. It is still challenging just because it is a 2000 level BIOL class but he really does a great job at teaching. 5 tests and 5 quizzes... straight forward class
He is a good professor with a very likable persona about him. Don't skip his lectures because those will help you more than anything. Study hard and pay attention, and you should do just fine.
Hes a nice man in class and has a good sense of humor. His tests arent too difficult theyre mostly from the PowerPoints. He is a hypocrite though, he acts like he cares about students in class but when I went to him for help he called me an idiot.
The professor is your average everyday professor. He seems like he cares about students but he really does not. If you skip any of his lectures you will fail. He will kick students out of class for not wearing there mask properly and he is very lecture heavy.
The best professor I've had at LSU by far. The lectures were straight to the point and wasted no time at all. You come into the class knowing what the expectations are because they are clearly outlined for you. He has a great sense of humor and explains complex topics in more digestible terms. We need more professors like this.
This class is very straightforward. Every class consisted of Dr. C lecturing straight off PowerPoint slides. The powerpoints were also posted on moodle with audio on each slide which makes it easy to catch up if you miss a class. Tests came straight off powerpoints. Know the material presented and it is an easy A
Dr. Crousillac makes it seem as if he cares about his students in the beginning of the semester; however, if you ever need him outside of class goodluck! Tests are straight from the PowerPoints; however, the average PowerPoint is about 50 slides each. You study hours on end just for the test to be memorization from about 150 slides each exam.
He teaches well, you just have to take notes! For a 1001 class you do have to spend time studying in order to do well on tests but the material isnt hard if you put time in. He is super funny throughout lectures and does kahoot practice tests.
Doesnt really teach this class, he just skipped through the powerpoints quickly then let out class early instead of reviewing. Ik its college, but it is a 1001 class. I had to study 6 hours to pass the exams, which is 90% of grade. I also felt he wasn't nice when students asked questions and would try to make you feel dumb. Anyways, hes funny.
Would never take this professor again, he just reads off of the slides expecting us to learn something from that. Quizzes and exams are straight forward, but nothing like his study guides (kahoot). He also disrespect students and make them feel like idiots.
Crousillac only reads off of the extremely long presentations he makes. The study guides are really nothing like the test which makes it extremely hard to study. Class usually ends early and attendance is not mandatory but if you miss too many classes you are most likely going to fail.
He takes about 30-45 minutes of his 80 minute class time to actually teach & he flies through his powerpoints by reading verbatim off them. He's funny and I don't mind him as a person, but as a professor he drove me nuts. The only grades are the quizzes & exams, and his exams are so difficult. Unless you like intense studying, avoid him if you can.
Great guy, really funny and sweet. He flies through the powerpoints in class, but it's really okay cause he's not saying anything additional, you could really just go over it on your own. Only grades are quizzes and tests, one of each per unit. If you read and take notes (look at his notes under each slide) you should be fine.
Dr. Crousillac is very knowledgable about what he teaches. 5 tests and quizzes will be your only grades. Make sure to study the power points and actually understand them because that's where he pulls most of his questions from the test from. Funny guy and easy to get along with. Lectures are filled with helpful analogies.
Grade is made up of mostly exams. Going to class isn't really necessary, as he reads from powerpoints. Still great lectures and cool guy.
He is a great professor but the material itself is hard. His lectures are directly from his powerpoint; what he reads in class is directly from the powerpoint notes. Getting more explanation than his notes will not come from class. No bonus points, no curves, and no extensions. Everything is given in the beginning of the semester. Study early.
You have to make sure you study the material way before the exams, not just two days before. He uploads his Powerpoints and Kahoot reviews to Moodle, and he has a gift for simplifying difficult concepts.
hes decent but the exams are difficult. there are 4 and theyre worth 91% of your grade while the 4 quizzes are the other 9%. quizzes are on moodle and exams are in person. go to class, take notes, study religiously and ask questions or youll practically fail. his lectures are pretty long but he also posts them on moodle
He made this gen-ed completely painless. I rarely showed up to lectures, but the ones I did attend were easy to follow and funny. Exams were extremely easy, I just glanced over his well-formatted slides and was good to go. Highly recommend, I even learned some interesting new stuff too which I didn't expect from a class this simple.
the 5 tests were worth 87% of your grade, and the rest was online quizzes on the test material. i took it as a freshman and it was definitely more difficult than my other classes, but i loved the material, and he has all of his lectures online. be prepared to study a LOT, because anything in the ppt is fair game. hes a great professor.
He just gives you a bunch of PowerPoint that your suppose to remember. Test are challenging.
Very funny guy, but teaching wise not great. If you really love and understand biology very well I would def recommend him, but if you are not a stem major or if biology does not come naturally to you maybe try a different guy.
I dropped this class last semester because it was so bad. if you are not a biology major and you are thinking about taking this professor. run. he is so boring and I could never pay attention to his lectures. he is kind of rude also. he kicked my friend out of class for talking
I LOVE Dr. Crousillac. A lot of people say he is a hard teacher but that's because he teaches difficult subjects. You can't take these classes and expect not to have to study. He is amazing at simplifying difficult concepts, which is what you need in a bio professor. Would take him for every bio class if I could.
Do not take this course if you do not perform well on tests. The only extra grades you get are about 4 10 point at home quizzes. His lectures are not mandatory and all notes are given in a PowerPoint. He gives great lectures and can be funny at times, just too vigorous for a freshman who is not even close to a science major.
He is a cool professor, but I believe that being too cool can come across as nonchalant at times. Asking him questions made me feel stupid or as if I was bothering him for assistance. His power points cover all of the exam objectives but do not provide enough examples to help you understand the questions on the exams and he has trick questions btw.
Dr. Crousillac is one of the best biology professors I have had. He is great at simplifying down the material to help you to understand it. He gives great real life examples which help apply what you are learning, but also make the course more enjoyable. He provides great notes which makes studying easy. He is funny and class is enjoyable. Take him
Dr. Crousillac breaks down the basics for you. His class consists of mainly exams but he makes sure you understand all of the material he goes over. He runs through slides fast so I suggest writing down the most important info. He looks mean but he is truly a great person and cares about his students especially if you show up and put in the work.
Decent class. Lectures lasted max 45 minutes which was nice. Grade is 96% tests and 4% quizzes so it can be a bit rough if you mess up. Ended up curving our first test to what we made on our second test because everyone did bad. Study the slides and fill out his test prep thing and you will do ok maybe
THIS is the professor to take!!!! He makes things very easy to understand with the way he explains it. All the information is on the power points for you to learn use it wisely. It is easy to let this class slip the back of your mind, but there are only 2 grades, exams and quizzes, so understand the material and GO TO CLASS!!
If you memorize his slides, go to class, and turn in all of your assignments, then you will do well in this class. He is super funny and does a good job at explaining things.
Attendance is not mandatory and if you do go, he always lets you go early. Very funny and knowledgable. Tests are 96% of your grade which is tough but he gives you so much material to study that its not too bad.
Attendance is not mandatory, but I recommend going because he is great at simplifying the complex topics and lets you out early. He is also funny and entertaining. Beware what you make on the tests is going to be your grade in the class, but if you pay attention and read the text book you will do fine.
You're probably confused as to why I still rated him a 5 despite not passing the course. He truly is a great professor who can really simplify things to help you understand. It is the amount of material that you have to know that made me not pass the course. It had nothing to do with his teaching ability. He is fantastic.
This professor gave great lectures, added the best grade to the first test, and offered a ton of help. He was interesting and made references to real life things to explain BIO.
This is my second time taking Dr. Crousillac and he's great! He's very knowledgeable and presents information clearly. Go to class and watch the pre-recorded lectures he uploads because that is where he pulls test information from. 5 tests and 5 quizzes. Only get the WileyPlus online code to do the quizzes because he does not use the textbook.
Dr. Crousillac is a very laid-back professor who isn't going to keep you in a lecture for longer than he has to. He lectures over the material and stays for questions, but he isn't going to stand up at the front and BS just so he meets the hour course. Your grade is based on 5 tests and 5 quizzes; there is no homework to buffer your grade, so STUDY
If you don't have to take this class, don't. It was unreasonably hard (I'm normally an A student) and the test questions hardly relate to your notes. His lectures are just him reading off his slides so it's not even worth going to class. He can also be stern and snappy sometimes. I'd never take a class from him again.
I loved him. He always explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and provided a lot of information on his powerpoint slides. The tests were in the testing center and he left the testing window open for 1-2 weeks. The information on the tests was difficult but it all came straight from the powerpoint slides.
Dr. Crousillac was a good professor, but his class was difficult for me because I'm not a biology person. He makes concepts easy to understand but this class requires you to have a good understanding of the material for the exams. He only gives quizzes and exams, so getting a bad grade on something can have a big effect on your grade.
He's a good professor, but I suggest reading powerpoints prior to going to class. Grade: 91% = exams; 9% - quizzes. Classes avg. 30 minutes, despite being 1 hr. 30 course, so make sure to review after class. Watch out/take note when he emphasizes!! Kahoots helped and quizzes! Go to class, ppts will make more sense. Si sessions helped as well!
Half the test material was not on the test.
Lectures are very short (30 minutes) and fast-paced, but if you pay attention and study, the tests are not hard. Only cons are that the 4 tests are worth 91% of your grade, and he is very strict on classroom management (no talking, showing up late, etc). However, he's funny and a good teacher, but just some things to consider.
he is a good guy but only teaches for 30 mins out of the hour & a half. only has 4 exams and 4 quizzes throughout the semester. no extra credit/assignments to help your grade. If bio does not come natural to you, choose another professor. Almost dropped his class, the only thing that really helped me was the SI sessions, so go if there is any.
Pretty straight forward teacher. His lectures are usually between 20-30 minutes. He puts the lectures and the learning objectives on the Moodle.
Very good analogies to make things simple take him
Very good at teaching concepts and making the lecture more understandable and enjoyable. Tests were difficult but manageable. Attendance isn't for a grade but he gives hints about what's on the test during class. Would definitely recommend for human phys.
The way he weighs the grading criteria is horrible. You can have an "A/B" but not do well on a test/quiz and drop to a C/D instantly. He will not round up a fraction of a point to the next grade. Very condescending & doesn't care about his students. Exams should NEVER be 80-90% of your grade in any course. Its ridiculous & sets you up for failure.
Scott is a special professor, if you come late or plan to dont come at all. Hes very strict a little funny but I had to drop. Good luck!
His class is very easy and he doesn't seem to care much. He usually would let us out 20-30 minutes early and sometime he would cancel class. Not a great teacher but not a hard class.
very easy course, professor very chill
He's a very strict teacher, he will ask you to leave if you are on your phone or you have any type of earphones in during his lectures. Makes jokes! Schedule your exams when the exam window is open. When it comes to exams, there will be exam objectives made available to you for every exam. LOOK AT THEM, IT HELPS!! ALSO GO TO THE SI SESSION!!
He is one of the best professors I've had, he makes difficult topics easy to understand. Very strict about lecture etiquette but also is so funny in lectures too. He doesn't waste any of your time, he does about one PP per lecture and never goes the full time. No class on the first day of the exam window and does a Kahoot review before every exam.
This professor is wonderful. He is so funny and is able to explain the material in a way that is so easy to understand. His lectures are very quick but very effective, we were only in class for 20-30 minutes each day. He is very passionate and knowledgable about the topics and always is trying to add little jokes into lecture to keep us engaged.
If you enjoy learning about the human body and how it works then this class will not be too difficult for you. An extremely large majority of the exam material comes straight from the power point slides that he goes over in class. He also flies through slides very quickly so a majority of learning is done on your own. He is very kind and helpful.
I loved Dr. Crousillac. Class not mandatory but it does help to retain the info as he has a great way of making things relatable. All of the exams are based heavily off power point presentation material. If you enjoy the human body and how it works then this class won't be anything too difficult. You need about 5-7 hours a week for an A+
All of the test questions come directly from the powerpoint slides. Exams usually cover 3-4 chapters. Shorter chapters are usually around 25-35 slides, longer chapters are around 45-60. As long as you study the powerpoints well, the class will not be hard. All of his lecture slides are posted on Moodle so you don't even have to show up to lecture.
I was so worried to take this course because of how "hard" it was. I am not a science major (need this for my major). Science is not my strong suit but Dr. C made this course as painless as possible. The tests are so straightforward and come from his powerpoints. He also makes very complex topics simple. Put in the work and you will do fine.
The quizzes accounted for 10% of the grade and the tests accounted for 90%. If you are not a good test-taker, I recommend taking someone else. Dr. Crousillac gave solid lectures and posted the slides on Moodle so you have all the information that you need. However, he was fairly rude to a lot of my classmates and did not have the best attitude.
the class is strictly graded on 4 tests and one quiz per test. Lectures are not mandatory and everything you need is on the slides or the lecture notes on the slides. He's super smart and a good professor and tries to make the content simple but in general it's somewhat of a difficult class so you do have to put in work and study!
Bro take this class. Yes the test are 90% of your grade but literally if you study the material he gives you then you will pass the course. Also the lectures are like 15 minutes long a day. This dude hella cool I recommend
This class was probably the easiest bio class I have taken. Dr C only lectures for 30 minutes and he tells you he is not going to trick you. He posts all his notes/ppts on Moodle and the tests come from the powerpoints. If you study the powerpoints and do the quizzes, you will pass with an A.
Dr. C makes this seemingly tough class a breeze. His lectures are engaging, and the exams are straight from the slides. Unstuckstudy AI and consistent studying are key to acing this class.
I had a love-hate relationship with his teaching style. He knows how to simplify concepts, but I also felt like he was going way too fast, and he seemed to not like us at times. He will kick you out on the spot if you have earbuds. But he does care for those who put in the effort. Do NOT miss class, you'll fall so behind.
He is not understanding, just do all your quizzes and study hard for tests because those are the only grades you get in this class.
Scott is a great professor. He is very against earbuds. In this class, your work ethic equals your grade. Keep up with the material and you should have no issues. The first exam is always the hardest.
He has great, short lectures. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I felt like it helped. He posts all of his lecture matieral online. His lectures are always around 30 minutes. Overall, great professor and would take him again.
Great class! I enjoyed it. Not graded by much and will not reopen any late assignments. His lectures are super interesting.
Definitely recommend taking this class. Lectures are so short and the slideshows are posted online and easy to understand. He can be a bit rude sometimes, but overall he means well.
Don't go inside his class with earphones lol. He was a really chill. Lectures ended early every time so you could ask questions at the end. Only tests and quizzes makeup ur grade so stay on top of them. 1st test was def the hardest but overall not a bad class. Attendance isn't mandatory cause he posts everything but I still recommend going!
Let me start by saying that I loved this class! He works with the class with grades when needed. He will not tolerate earbuds in class, so just don't wear them. I enjoyed his lectures because they were easy to understand and entertaining because of his sense of humor. Overall he's a chill dude who made me genuinely interested in biology.
His class is relatively easy. He mainly read directly off the PowerPoint but will usually let the class out early. Overall, the course was okay.
Great guy and made me look forward to lecture.
His lectures were boring, and he posted all of the material to Moodle, so attendance wasn't necessary. I had a medical emergency at the end of the semester, and he was unwilling to work with me. Overall, the class was not difficult if you studied and had some prior biology knowledge. He's not understanding, so good luck if you have an emergency LOL
Best science-related professor here. Suggest taking him for every class he's available. Organized lectures are super easy to understand. The only other grade is a handful of online quizzes, but that's all you need. If you get an underwhelming grade on a test, he might replace it with another one. And he isn't a talking robot and has personality.
Very good professor, obviously very knowledgable with what he teaches. Provides everything you need to do well on exams. Your grade consists of five exams and an online quiz before every exam. Very funny and makes the class enjoyable. My favorite professor by far.
Great dude, funny, just review the PowerPoints and you'll get an A. Go to his office hours thats where he'll be lol
Biology 1001 is for non-science majors but in my opinion it is still difficult material. Basically all your grades depend on four tests but his slideshows are extremely helpful, he explains things very well in the slideshow comments, and he has a funny sense of humor; which makes it easier to learn. He also posts the slideshows on moodle.
I had him for BIOL1202 and thought he was a great teacher. The class only lasted 30 minutes max. For the test, you just needed to know the powerpoints well and it was easy to do well on the tests.
He's really good at lecturing and posts his speaking on each slide so when studying he sets you up for success. His exams, and open note quizes= entire grade. But their are quizlets and questions online people find are similar to tests. Not a super easy class because tests are lowkey hard but if you take 2 days and study then it's fine
He has rules, and will not bend them no matter what. Just stay on top of everything and you'll be fine but if you miss a quiz you'll need every possible form showing it was a valid reason. Only grades are 5 quizzes and 5 exams, if you stay focuses you'll do well. Don't email him unless you want a passive aggressive response back.
This was a fire class! He might come off a bit harsh & scary when you talk to him, but he means well. There are 5 exams & quizzes, so there isn't a lot of cushion when it comes to grades. However, his PPTs have voiceovers and descriptions, which were rly helpful. Attendance isn't necessarily; Kahoot days give you extra points, so I'd suggest going!
I really enjoyed his class, and I know that's a lot seeing my grade. But, the class genuinely wasn't hard, it's just really test and quiz based which aren't my strong suits. But, I still passed! I would definitely recommend SI sessions, office hours, and going over powerpoints if you struggle with testing/aren't a biology major.
This class isn't hard, but you better study good if you want an A or an A+. Some of the exam questions can be pretty minute. Scott is incredibly straightforward, which is good, but at the same time a bit self absorbed. If you read this Scott, know that your Kahoot review days are ruined by sorority test banks. No one without it wins bonus points.
He was so so funny in class. The tests were also pretty easy. He would do a Kahoot review before each test and post it so we could study with it. If you go to class, make sure to take out your headphones. He wants your full attention. Other than that, he is great.
He's amazing! He truly loves what he does and that makes it easy for us to understand the concepts. He puts it in very simple ways to understand, hi has a kahoot review before each exam which is very similar to the exam and very helpful.
Grades incredibly hard for a lab course. He prefers you to ask questions in person but is rude. Doesn't give feedback or use a rubric. He is a human physiology professor that acts like the grammar police. Please DO NOT listen to the people who say he is hilarious. He is rude.
overall great professor
He is a great teacher. He only lectures and has quizzes for every exam you can do on your own time. I greatly recommend downloading the slides and writing notes as he goes because he does not put all the information you should know on the slides. He stays after class to answer questions and keeps the class short (ends early like every day). 10/10.
Dr. Crousillac is amazing! His tests can sometimes be a little difficult, but as long as you study his Kahoots and memorize the learning objectives, you'll be fine. He always ends class early and he genuinely does care about the students. Just make sure to take out headphones before entering class and pay attention. 10/10 professor
great guy, very chill and interactive with class. MUST FOLLOW ONE RULE, NO HEADPHONES. willing to help out students. practice kahoots.
Scott did an amazing job at taking extremely complicated information and turning it into something we could easily understand. He puts the notes from his lectures at the bottom of his powerpoint slides which was so helpful. Only con is he's super strict on deadlines and the only grades for the class are the tests and quizzes.
This class is fun and easy to do well in. He does Kahoot reviews for each exam that give a good overview of what will be on exams. Highly recommend.
He makes this class very fun and easy to do well in. If you go to class and study the material, your grade will reflect. He also does exam review Kahoots that give a good overview of what to study for the exams. Highly recommend.
Dr Scott is amazing. Makes content super easy to understand, and keeps the lectures engaging. I hate biology with a passion and still managed an A-. 4 tests, non - cumulative final, but tests are true to the slideshows. Just spend a few days before each tests memorizing his slides and doing the practice kahoot and you'll make an A.
Explains all topics very well, class is graded on 5 exams and 5 quizzes. Attendance is not mandatory, but highly recommend going.
He is a sweet teacher but I spent so much time with the slideshows and kahoots and couldn't make over a 55. I love biology and thought I understood but his tests did not match the material given. Only grades are quizzes and exams.
Explains the content so well and makes the subject interesting with analogies and random fun facts to help you remember. The ppts have notes on the slide of EXACTLY what he says in class, so I never went but got As on each exam. Make sure you don't ever miss any assignments tho (even bc of an emergency) bc hes stubborn and WILL NOT work with you.
This class is only five exams with five quizzes. The professor provides clear materials and guidance on how to do well. Attendance isn't mandatory, but going to class definitely helps.
Loved him, he is so funny and he makes lecture interesting.
Professor Crousillac's dry humor is hilarious, lecture not mandatory, and he puts everything he says in class in the notes section of the powerpoint so if you dont go, you don't miss A THING. Tests are very straight foward. Take him!!
He's a very cool professor. Most of your grades come from the test. Attendance is not mandatory
Really straightforward professor. Makes learning some complex material relatively simple. His powerpoints provide all the information you need for exams. Grades come from 5 exams and 5 quizzes. It is really hard to not do well in this class if you review the information on the slides and his notes.
His classes last at most 30 minutes and he is so understanding and wants you to learn and succeed!!
