He is a nice teacher but at the beginning of the semester, teaches at a slow pace and in the end of the semester, crammed in 2 tests in 1 week. He doesn't do a very good job at explaining problems throughally and sometimes they are wrong. If you are not strong in math, I would not recommend him.

Skip this guy!! If you cannot teach math to yourself, don't expect him to teach it to you. He is unorganized in his teaching methods. He focuses on teaching the concept not how to work the problem He is a young teacher and it shows. No test reviews.

This is the worst teacher ever! Doesn't give test reviews, only puts about 10 questions on each test (expects you to know everything), got most of the problems he worked on the board wrong, took points off if the work wasn't exactly like his. It was so bad that he was already scheduling a make-up test as he was making the test! DO NOT TAKE HIM!

Worst teacher ever! Don't take him even if you're great at math because when you are right you are still wrong. All work must be done his way or you will lose points. No extra credit, taught multiple problems wrong, no test reviews, & tests had about 10 problems. Final was comprised of all chapters & had 19 questions. Taught myself, got a C.

Not the easiest class i have taken but great guy! he is willing to help if you ask. gives partial credit on tests so try even if you can't figure it out. MyMathLab is horrible! The work load is overbearing and redundant! He knows what he's talking about, but tries to talk to fast and explain things unclearly. If math comes easy to you, this is your class, if math does now come easy to you. Do not take him! He does give partial credit on tests. He tries and crams too much into a class.

Apparently for all math classes you use mymathlab which you have to pay $80 for, no getting around that. you don't need the textbook if you show up to class. he teaches clearly, easy to understand. tests aren't too hard. if you need math, I recommend this professor.

The class is easy. It's just like taking high school algebra all over again. Decent professor. If you have any questions he can show you step by step how to do the problem. He is a great teacher. He explains example problems very well. He has all of his previous tests online with solutions to study from. He drops your lowest test score and replaces it with your score on the final.

Since my class was online, you learn it by yourself but if I had any questions he was quick to respond and explained it by email well. He was also willing to explain by phone if needed. Test is exactly like practice test except the numbers in the problem are different. so you know what to expect.

He is very HELPFUL!Calc 2 is a hard class, but he explains really well. He stays after class to help students who didn't understand something. Also, he gives a review before each test and it is exactly like the tests. Homework is long, and it's always due before the test, however, he gives a second opportunity to turn it in. He's a great teacher with a new way of teaching. Lecture at home, homework in class. This method was extremely effective - test average was around a 96. He is very helpful in his homework and will answer any questions you have. I'm very glad I took this professor.

Great CALC 1 Professor. Do all the homework and take the notes he writes. Study all the reviews because they are almost the same as the test. Would take him again for a CALC 2 class if he taught it.

I took for CALC 1. Need the book, don't need mymathlab. Book is cheap on amazon. Lectures for 10-15 min, you watch videos about 20 minutes at home, rest of class you do homework. Class is excellent for many reasons, but NO MYMATHLAB is definitely the main one. Watch online videos, do HW, do study guides, and show up to class, you'll get an A.

Professor Daugherty is an AMAZING professor. I took him for statistics and i would take him again. Statistics is hard but if you do the homework and do the reviews before the test you'll get an A! the reviews are JUST LIKE THE TEST! If you need help he emails back fairly quickly and makes sure you understand the concept. He wants you to pass!

Professor Daugherty, took him for Cal III he is very helpful and cares for his students. Homework is not much about 10 -12 problems a chapter. How to pass his course is Attendence, Homework, and work the Reviews. His Reviews are very similar to the exam. 4 Exams 1 was a take home due to bad weather and the school being closed for more than 3 days.

I took Professor Daugherty this past summer session and he is by far the best professor I've had in my college career. He explains things thoroughly by breaking down each problem until you understand the material. He gives a review for each test, which is similar to the exam. Great Professor!

Calculus isn't easy, but Prof. Daugherty really made this an achievable A. If you skip a class or need more revision, he posts lecture videos. The secret to passing this class is doing the homework and practice questions. For the exams, just practise the practice questions multiple times because it is the exact same questions that he sets, but different numbers. Four lectures exams and one final exam. The homework takes a lot of time to complete. He is very accessible.

Professor Daughtery's online statistics class is amazing! The homework is easy as long as you watch the lectures. You have many tries to do the homework, so you should easily get an A on the homework. He has practice exams which are just like the real exams except with the numbers changed. If you put in the effort, you'll definitely get an A.

Took his STAT class online and it's a breeze. You have to buy an access code which also comes with the book online. You can get a 100 on the homework and there are practice exams that are just like the real ones. You do have to go to a campus to take the exams though. Easy A if you try!

Awesome professor he explains really good and you do all your homework in class the test are the same as the reviews if you do the review you will pass the test. If you do the homework he adds extra points to your test and if you participate he will also add points

Great professor - occasionally gives extra credit for doing problems on the board near the end of class. Lots of homework for each chapter, but it's all on paper. Book not needed but will greatly benefit. Reviews are extremely hard but they will still prepare you for the test. Be sure to study the concepts before you come to class.

Took his STAT class online. You MUST do the homework, practice test and put the work into the class. Professor Scott Daugherty is very good and wants you to pass. This is a FULL online course when you take it online. Statistics can be a challenging subject but YouTube and practice helps ALOT! There's lots of HW but you can do over and over until you get 100%. DO THESE and the practice tests and you should be good. You get 2 attempts for the exams!

Thanks to Professor Daugherty, this ended up being my favorite class of the semester even though I hate math. Homework can be done at your own pace (just needs to be done by end of the semester) and exams are exactly the same as practice exams other than #s changed. He replied to emails quickly and is always happy to help. Take him!!

Professor Daughtery was awesome! He's a great teacher, and you can earn extra 4-7 points on each test by doing review problems on the board after lecture. He does repeat himself a lot to make sure everyone understands, which gets a little annoying, but he means well. He gives PLENTY of reviews for the test, and is always super clear on everything.

Amazing Professor really cares about you. Homework is due by the end of the semester. Exams are mostly like practice tests. 2 attempts per exam. 4 exams and 1 final. Later on during the semester, he changed the exams to an unlimited amount of tries. Replies quickly to emails.

Trig. WORST PROF EVER. He doesn't know the material himself, given that he messed up at least one example every class period. One of the other students in class had to correct him all the time. He is useless if you need help. I took one test to the tutors when he couldn't solve his own problem to see what I did wrong, they couldn't solve it either.

He is good at explaining, math has never been my strongest subject. With him, I aced all my test ABOVE 100... He is good at explaining, will give you extra credit. Took him online. He uses MyMathLab. Easy to pass. I recommend to watch the videos provided by the book, than do assignments. If you don't understand I would normally youtube or click the step by step on the homework. Exams are easy just like the reviews and you get to 2 chances. Right before class finishes you have a chance to redo Exams. Take Him!

Don't be fooled. He definitely needs to work on his form of teaching. His disorganized notes made HW impossible. He runs between two boards in the room. Tutors steps for solutions may not be valid for his test. Had errors on test reviews, leaving students to drown for before exams. My Mathlab is useless but mandatory. Goodluck.

Good professor. I could tell really cared about us. However, the class fell 2 weeks behind in the first 2 months, and then Covid hit. So after the classes went online, we had a lecture or test almost every day. which wasnt fun. But having said that his lectures were really clear. Tests were pretty easy. Overall a good choice for a professor. 8.5/10

I took this class in the summer and math is not my strong subject. Professor Daugherty responds very quickly, extends our test if we need more time, gives you every opportunity to pass this class. Lots of work, but expected for a mini- mester. Study the practice tests and you will do great on the exams. Actually loved this class.

Prof Daugherty is really caring and will extend the due dates if needed. He sends weekly reminders and is available if you have any questions. The class itself is through MathLab and it is extremely time consuming. However, you can redo the homework as many times as you want and the practice test is almost identical to the real test.

Mr. Daugherty cares about his students, he extended my due dates when I was struggling to turn the exams in on time. The class is mostly self-taught, there are a videos on Mymathlab but I found YouTube more helpful. The only downside is that the exams are time and some of the questions are really hard but I would def. picked him again.

There's practice tests that are identical to the exam. He provides extensions on exams. The class is self taught so YouTube will become your bestfriend.

The class had a very laid-back set-up & is pretty easy if you dedicate the time necessary to get your assignments done on time & the prof was nice but DO NOT trust the grade points on canvas, the wrong numbers were available and I ended up with a B despite calculating an A & didn't do all of the extra credit because I thought I didn't need to.

ALL of the homework and tests are on Pearson. He allows unlimited attempts on homework and extends the due dates on everything. There are two attempts on test and test reviews exactly like the test. Easy A+ in class if you do all the homework and practice test review for the test. The homework gets difficult but he's very easy to contact.

Test reviews are exactly like the tests, homework's are very short and he usually extends the deadline on the assignments. Even if youre not able to complete by the deadline hes willing to open it back up. Very easy for a stats class. Only reason i didnt get an A was bc i didnt give it my all. Other than that im sure I wouldve gotten the A.

He ran through the lessons, sometimes getting an entire chapter done in a day, Simultaneously explaining nothing while constantly talking. I got more out of visiting the tutoring center than being in the class. Do not take him if you cannot handle learning at 100mph. He was nice enough and he did give bonus points on tests for showing your work.

Hes not very good at teaching I ended up teaching myself. It wasn't hard, but a lot of information. He was lenient with due dates and even rounded my C into a B :) His exams were short and very similar to the reviews on my math lab. The hw assignments were also made up of few questions, no more than 20.

He has videos of all his lectures broken down into individual topics available on YouTube to review certain content. He also held weekly Webex meetings for anyone who needed help. The whole course was held on MyMathlab so feedback was immediate and helpful. The practice exams had a bad tendency to be considerably longer than the exam themselves.

I took 1342 for an 8 week course. The course is through my mathlab, there was 33 homework assignments, 4 test, and a final. I enjoyed the class.

I really appreciate Professor Scott as he is very passionate about his job. To pass his class, you must follow the calendar because there will be no room for procrastination. He is by far the most active professor and will use his time to offer zoom tutorials once a week. The homework, test reviews, and tests are all the same, but different numbers

Professor Daugherty is a fantastic math teacher. His lectures are intensive and cover all the material you would need to know. Make sure you pay attention to not fall into the hole I fell into. Professor Daugherty is an amazing professor. He made a very difficult subject easy. That's not to say that the class isn't difficult, because it is, but he managed to make it easier. All homework is on MyMathLab and there are five tests including the final. He does a review before the test and even did a review during non-class time for the final.

Professor Daugherty makes breaks down the fundamentals of calculus very well. He teaches a very hard subject with great attention to detail. If you pay attention, you will do just fine.

Lots of attempts for the MyMathLab homework assignments. WebEx lectures and videos for each unit were available to help. Do the practice tests and you should make a decent grade at a minimum. 33 Homework assignments (unlimited attempts), 2 quizzes (1 is the final and the other is orientation quiz), and 4 tests & 5 practice tests.

Professor Daugherty was amazing! The assignments were easy to complete because of unlimited attempts, 4 exams + the final. Very easy to communicate with, responds quickly. I didn't have enough time to finish the final so he allowed me to retake it and even added an extra hour to the time limit. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed!

He flies through the lectures so he can get to the example problems. When showing them, he pulls numbers out of thin air. You get homework based on the section being covered. You get 50+ homework problems after every class. You're only graded on the homework and tests. Good luck finding time to do them if you have a job and are taking other classes

I loved Professor Daugherty! He is a great guy, very caring and attentive towards his students. He was extremely helpful in helping everyone in the class understand the material. If someone did not fully understand, he did another example until we understood it. Great professor, would recommend taking him again.

I enjoyed this class in the beginning, but the lectures were difficult to follow. You have unlimited amount of tries on homework and practice exams. Tons of videos to help better understand the material. The only thing I didn't like was the lectures, they didn't match some problems on the homework for it wasn't discussed how to get the solution.

As long as you apply yourself and attend tutoring when you don't understand, this class is doable. I wish I asked questions earlier but he was very helpful/responsive. Great professor, let me retake test. took 1-2 days to study for test (sometimes 6 hours 1 day), easy to study and understand. I suck at math, but he thoroughly goes over the material and repeats himself to make sure everyone understands. It is important to ask questions. He takes the time to answer everyone's questions and goes on to explain the material even further. Math homework is due on test days so you have plenty of time to complete it. Four tests and a final exam.

Took his online class for precal. There are lots of homework assignments and each comes with its own video. Videos are really helpful, however, didn't always cover what was in the homework. Test aren't proctored and some even have 2 attempts. You have to complete every assignment before moving onto the next. Responds fairly quickly to emails.

You essentially teach yourself, which is fine with me. No lectures from Prof. Daugherty, but he uses MyMathLab and each section comes with a section in the textbook, videos from the author, and an optional study plan. Tests are exactly what are in the test reviews. Homework has infinite attempts until the due date, most tests have two attempts.

I don't understand the good ratings. Let me break it down, bunch of homework with no lessons. You're all on your own. He's MIA the WHOOOLE time. Teaches NOTHING. I took this class as Scott Daugherty had 75+ 5-star ratings. My classmates and I taking this class can say that rating is very wrong. Professor Daugherty does below terrible of teaching this class and you have tons of homework with not tutorials. You basically have to teach yourself everything and the exams are tough with no extra credit.

This professor has been the most helpful professor I've encountered at any school. When he teaches, he gives you the reason why things work (I.e. how they came up with the derivative) so that you have a better understanding of the topic. You can reach him at any time within his office hours, and he is always happy to help when you don't understand.

Complete the assignments and you will do great. This professor was not very active during the semester but when I emailed him with a question, he replied quickly and was very helpful. TAKE THIS CLASS!

I took an online course for Summer I 2025. Was pretty easy. Used MathLab and the book is on their. Has YouTube videos to help.

If this a required course for you, please TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! It is such a straightforward class and he uses Pearson Labs for all the coursework. Some homework can be tough but it gives you multiple attempts per question. There are 4 tests per semester not including final and around 2-3 easy assignments per week. Professor is AWESOME!

He is so sweet! He does sometimes go over the class time but he teaches what is necessary. He is very accessible outside of class as well. I recommend him 100%!
