I usually hate science, but Scott Fielder actually makes it relevant and interesting. He's very enthuisiactic, it's a great class (and easy too!)

I'm an english major and was dreading my required science credit...I ended up with an A+, and that is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT due to Scott's teaching. Take his classes!

Scott is just awesome! He is so fun, that he made Chemistry fun and easy. The tests are all from his lectures, and pretty much easy. If you go to class you wont have a problem!

i've had this guy for 3 classes...he's simply amazing. none of my other profs provide such enthusiasm or bring as much fun into the classroom as he did. i mean how can you not love a guy who talks about nuclear bombs the 3rd class!

Best Prof at York U ever!!! I've been at York for 4 years and I've never had a better Prof than Scott. He's really sensitive to the students level of learning, all his classes are hilarious, you're actually learning chem without you knowing it (I hated and sucked at Chem before I took his class)

Scott's a cool cat. His class is easy if you know OAC Chemistry. If not, pick up an old textbook and you'll be smooth sailing. Scotty is a smooth dude, and don't be shocked by the influx of hot girls in the class. You might have to tolerate some of his mackin, but the girls will keep you packin.

scott's awesome. not enof ppl take his class. he manages to form a personal bond with just about everyone. you don't need to know much chemistry to take his class. in fact if you know some, at times you wish he'd hurry up but then you remember you're not the only one in his class. he's so funny and does amazing demonstrations for his class

BEST PROF EVER! He makes it FUN to learn: he is hilarious!, his course material is VERY interesting, and LABS are actually entertaining and fun. I learned the most in this class than I did in any of my other classes and this information I learned is actually very USEFUL in everyday life! Definitely HOT class!

The BEST professor ever, made learning really fun, very funny (not a understatment), and a nice guy, went of of his way every to help, and was really crazily into the subject and brought everyone else in with him. I felt I learned so much!

I am an Economics major. And through out my 4 years of York, I have not had one class better or more interesting then the class of Prof. Scott Fielder. Honest, he is the best prof I have ever had. He makes the material easy to understand, fun and he is very easy going . Pure pleasure to have him as an instructor.

The best professor I've ever had at York. Fielder is hilarious, but his tangents always relate back to something. He will explain chemistry through the most bizarre stories and leave you understanding way better than you would just learning theory. I wish I had videotaped all his lectures; it's like being taught by a stand-up comedian. Brilliant!

The most enthusiastic and halrious professor you'll ever have. Best of all, he knows the importance of general concepts. He doesn't stay forever on memorizing details. His analogies are an excellent strategy in teaching. The only improvement would be how quickly he talks sometimes. If you can, bring a recorder.

On my third degree and Scott is the by far the best prof. I have ever had. He removes the layers of obfuscation surround chemistry and makes it an easy and fun topic to learn. Truly a wonderful teacher and a kind hearted man. I hope that one day I might become like Scott.

Great prof. his teaching style is amazing, you will never lose interest. His tests are also easy if you study what he tells you to. But I have to admit he has very little control over the course when administration is concerned, he needs to fix that.

Scott is the best. He keeps you engaged and excited to come to class. I found I needed to do a fair bit of self-teaching after class. His stories help illustrate concepts, but if you don't have a chem background, you may need to supplement your own learning with youtube videos and google. The text sucks and Scott knows it so rarely uses it.

I don't know one person that has said anything bad about Scott. He's charming, he's funny and he just seems to know how to explain things to everyone. He really knows how to make you understand what he's talking about. He tells a lot of stories too that made class even more enjoyable. Just study what he talks about and you'll do great in the course

Scott Fielder is the best prof I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his students & is so passionate about chem that it makes class enjoyable and studying easier. I would highly recommend you take his class. His tests are manageable if you study and go to class. You might actually end up enjoying chem 1000 with Scott (hard to believe but true)

He's not very organized when it comes to teaching each chapter with good examples. I learned from reading the textbook for the most part. Though it was fun attending his lectures, he's a funny prof. His tests were straightforward, just have to study a little bit to get an A.

good prof easy quizzes (the final exam is pretty hard but thats not up to him) very funny makes the concepts relevant using stories but if you take him you are going to have to teach yourself from the book because most of the time he only teaches the concepts and doesnt explain how to do the questions that are on the test

Scott is HILARIOUS!!! I enjoyed every moment of his class. Although his lectures are enjoyable, they could never be a substitute for the textbook. Going to class is mostly just for a good time, you don't learn much that will be on the test but you do laugh a lot. He inspires his students to explore chemistry and develop a passion for it.

hes a great guy and really tries to get everyone interested in the subject but realistically you are going to have to teach yourself from the book classes are fun but you don't have to go

so passionate. he really cares about his students and really wants to spread the love of chemistry. not very organized when it comes to lectures, but still manages to teach the concepts. sometimes skips over certain material which you will have to teach yourself from the textbook. do your homework, come to class and you should be fine.

Scott takes a difficult course and injects it with enthusiasm & humour. He takes the time to explain concepts in multiple ways so that everyone gets it. The way he delivers his lectures helps you make it through 3 hours. His tone may suggest his tests are an easy A, they're not. If he mentions something like functional groups, know it well!

One of the last of a dying breed of teachers who actually TEACHES. Real teaching, not PowerPoint reading. I love his lectures- they are entertaining and help you really understand what is going on rather than just memorizing. Also really appreciate that he treats students as adults- no micromanaging, no textbook, focus is just on learning. Thanks!
