All you have to do is type a few papers that you are allowed to resubmit until the end of the semester for a better grade. No tests. I went to class about four times (no joke) and got an A.

Great instructor. Lots of writing in 1 & 10. 2 had a lot of discussion and some writing. Busy guy (dept chair) so hard to get ahold of out of class. I learned a lot! One of the best instructors at the jc.

Awesome teacher! All you do is watch movies, however, you analysis the films from a sociologist’s viewpoint. Never a boring day. Be sure to take this teacher.

Okay, I liked him too, but he is, without a doubt, a freaken ego maniac. It's hard to counter him, there's a lot of discussion, but it's really only one point of view. He doesn't much listen to anyone else, which makes it clear in what he wants.

Very good teacher. Definitely anti-Bush. Not much room for discussion, but otherwise very good. He swears quite a bit.

I will say that I didn't stay in the class too long (wound up having to drop all of my classes that semester) but he is an awesome teacher. The assignments are realistic and the subjects are interesting. HE DOES CURSE ALOT (and I enjoyed it heh heh)

Great class. All you have to do is show up, take notes, & watch movies.He's really insightful and totally knows what he's talking about.There are a couple of big papers you have to write, but he gives you tons of time to do them and let's you turn them in early for corrections.

Fun watching movies, but he expects quite a bit of writing. Best bet is to go talk to him before due date so you get a better grade. If you turn anything in though you wont get lower than a C.

Just turned in my paper today, 34 pages! But he helped my with just about every page of it! He's always willing to help you, if you can catch him.

Sociology is a very interesting subject, and Fuller does show how interesting it can be...the only assignments for the semester are two massively long essays (approx 30 pages each), though like someone mentioned before, we have time to do them. Highly recommended for soc. majors.

Scott changed my life! I wasn't interested in sociology past gen. ed. credits. Now I am a Soc. Proffesor! He breaks the mold of a "Prof". If you take his class, make sure you wear your hat backwards and act totally normal or he might call on you to answer some question about social constructionism!

You can tell he really knows what he's doing and he's very clear about what he wants.He only gave us two assignments this semester and he gives you tons of time to finish them.I thought he expected a little much from the papers but it's pretty easy to get a C.The movies were good and I learned a lot

For a person with a tendency to procrastinate like myself, those 30-page papers are much easier said than done. He wants a lot of detail in your explanation. He doesn't care if it's pretty as long as it includes EVERYTHING he thinks it should. It is a truly life changing class, and he is dedicated.

Fuller rocks. I love his classes! He's realistic and down to earth. His personality is straight forward and he has a great sense of humor. His lectures make sense and are easy to follow. I love that he uses movies and current culture to teach.

Excellent teacher! He has a great personality and is very informative. I looked forward to the class every day. His grading is difficult because he wants everything in the paper that he talked about but if you talk to him he will help you out. His class was tremendously inspiring!

Fuller is Great!!! Very helpful and wants you to succeed. Don't procrastinate with this class. When he gives you the questions do them immediately. This was a life changing class for me, very cathartic. Fuller is a very intelligent person and you can learn a lot from him if you pay attention.

My favorite class so far for g.e. Intimidated at first by the style of the class. The lecture and long essay papers, but I got a B in the class,in my first semester at college. As long as you take notes basically verbatim and watch the videos. The class should be easy and interesting.

If you like dealing with the brightest at SRJC, take one of Fuller's classes. If his scatology doesn't invoke gut-sourced humor and outrage, your demise is not an illusion. He wants his students to think and act like they are important, and term papers must contain his guidance. Fun and funny.

He's brilliant, funny, & has impacted my life :) One of the best profs I've ever had! Encourages students to critically analyze themselves and their societies. An open mind helps a lot. It's sad that some equate fair, intelligent discussion of significant issues with "boring." It's anything but! A+

Fuller is hilarious, and makes the discussions worth listening to. Plus, all you do is watch movies! But don't let this fool you; take very good notes on the movies or else you will regret it when writing the 30 page papers.

Almost all students who dislike Scott are just plain unwilling to do the work! It was a fun class. Many of view my points were completely opposite of Scott's, yet I got an A. I disagreed with many things that he said. If you come to class, do the work, 1 mid term and 1 final, and 2 weeks to do it (take home). Easy, just do the work and you'll be OK

i loved the class most you will learn so much about society just by watching movies and you have a personal commentary

a mind expanding class. Be ready to write a couple 30 something page papers and take good notes. Over all if you are open minded enough you will probably do well.

Scott was awsome I loved his classes, very easy to manage as well. But he does i think want to be the "cool" teacher with some of his forced swearing. But for sure worth taking!

I found Fuller's class to be interesting and able to talk about your own opinions on things. Almost like a debate class without arguements. He is very smart and funny as well. I would say he is my favorite teacher.

Very good teacher, very intelligent. All you do is watch movies, but you have to take good notes for the midterm and final which are the only assignments. He is very funny and will definitel keep you awake for the early classes.

Good teacher, strong personality but fair and unbiast as well funny. I strongly recommend him, through he may rub you the wrong way if faint of heart. 2 15-20 page papers based on notes. Several movies. I section is team taught and this year he is teaching in France with other faculty.

easy to follow if you have prior knowledge/interest in sociology. watch videos every day, lectures are few and far between, 25 pg midterm paper & 25 pg final paper. they are only easy to do if you take good notes, begin them as soon as they are assigned, and know how to BS your way through an essay. Not recommended for the feeble-minded!

Fuller is a good teacher, must take notes the awesome part, is that he will "pre read" your papers, so take advantage and don't wait til the last minute. Easy A, not a great class for those who are unaware of their personal values.

This was my favorite class! Even though I had it at 7:30 in the morning, I looked forward to it. Everyday is interesting, he doesn't put anyone on the spot, you watch films and relate them to issues and occasionally have lecture (also good). 2 assigns.-long papers for mid and final.He just wants to see that u really thought about it and took notes.

Wonderful teacher! He really knows what he's teaching, and he has a really fun personality! You watch a lot of videos and be sure to take great notes, otherwise you will struggle in writing your 20 page midterm and final. He says you don't have to come to class, but you should because otherwise it will be impossible to pass. Awesome class!

Fuller is a great teacher, his teaching style is a little different but very modern. the only home work is the essays, two of them both 20 or so pages but you get the questions during the semester so by they time they are due, you should be done, plus at anytime he will review your essay and tell you what to fix until the last day! Great Teacher!

John is a really great teacher, using power point and videos instead of books. There is absolutely no busywork or homework as the entire course grade is dependent on two papers. A brilliant man that will really make you think. A truly entertaining professor that uses good videos.

this was one of the best teachers i have ever had. You dont need to attend class but notes come in handy towards the end. there is no assignments except your midterms and finals which are really really time consuming. I would take this class over if i could i loved it...you just watch movies all class :) good ones at that!!

This was one of my first classes that I took in Fall 2003. First thing in the morning Fuller was full of energy and excitement. At the time I was horrified by the 30 page papers, however the assignments proved an amazing experience - going to SF Zoo and researching behavior in gorillas! I still use what he taught me. Thank you Scott Fuller!

super easy. teacher takes the laxed approach to teaching. We watched movies all semester & wrote papers. All you have to do is take notes & parrot it back in the papers & you will get an A. Awesome teacher; swears & is really down to earth. take this class with him before he official retires.

Fuller is a great professor who is obviously passionate about his job.He is clear about the material and there is no textbook which is GREAT.The essays are time consuming so don't procratinate!!overall, I learned a lot.

BEST class I have ever taken at the J.C. He is an amazing teacher and I learned so much! It should be mandatory to take this class with Fuller! No text and he doesn't take role but you realize quickly that you have to be there and that you want to be there. Don't wait until the last minute to do your papers...and have him pre-read them, it helps!

I took Scott Fullers class 6 years ago and I still cant forget the whole course. He practically changed my life and the direction of my career.

Scott is an excellent teacher with a great mind! He makes you think HARD about the world that we live and society. He really grabs you and doesn't let you go

Lots of writing, mid term and final are 100% of your grade and are about 20-30 pages. If you get a D on the midterm, you'll be advised to drop the class, which is probably good advice. Easy if you take good notes and are capable of thought beyond surface. Excellent material! NO BOOK! Easy A for the right type of person.

Fuller definitely knows his stuff! My number one piece of advice would be take really good notes.

Defiantly knows his stuff. A very interesting class. take notes that will be clear later and write your papers and get them pre read. Fuller really opens up your mind to the world. Its fun to watch movies too. There is no book. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE.

Fuller is awesome. The class is hard and the writing can be intense, but it's definitely worth it. He always tries to apply sociological theory to the real world, which gave me a very strong foundation for understanding the social sciences in general. I recommend this class if you want to pursue sociology and are willing to do a LOT of writing.

He is a boss! Really harps on about society, being a sociology class. he got me very interested in the social sciences and "inspired" i guess to write in depth essays about things i cared about. He is able to connect with you about this subject through films, and has this on lock. Highly recommended, even if the essays are time consuming.

Warning...this class is not for everyone. You must be a real student,it is too much work otherwise. Fuller is the best teacher I have had at SRJC and Soc 1 the best class. This is what college is supposed to be like!

This class blew my mind. Fuller is a sociological genius. He's very straight forward about what he expects and with really good notes I got an a. Doesn't use textbooks. He's an inspiring professor and srjc is lucky to have him. But don't take his classes unless you're serious about your education.

Best instructor hands down. Took him in summer. Three keys things to an A...attend class, good notes and let him proof read your paper. Very interesting person and super passionate with his teaching.

This was the most interesting class I have taken. Grade is made up of two papers, mine were 24 and 20 pages long. I thought watching movies for lecture would be strange but I ended up loving it and feeling very inspired each time I left! He is hilarious, loves to swear and make jokes, take this class!!

I learned a lot from Scott. He really gave me a new perspective on life. You watch movies which he ties to sociology, it's pretty cool. There's a lot of writing to do, my midterm was 10k words for example, but he gives you a lot to write about. Theres only 2 writing assignments, and he never takes attendance, but if you don't show up you'll be lost

Scott Fuller is one of the best teachers at the JC I have taken. He is genuine man and will help you with whatever you need but I highly doubt you will because his classes are so in depth and easy to grasp. Would take again. Teaches his lectures through the use of movies, and they are very interesting movies at that! Great teacher! Great class!
