He okay! have a great personality. He make his work clear and how he want it and is helpful if you ask. I reccomend him if you like someone who not boring. he actually can be an actor in teaching a lesson, but he get his point across.

Good teacher to pick for EnC1101 and ENC1102. He is patient, attendance is very important for him, make sure your cell its off. He is fun and stricte . Dr. Fynboe is the best.

Very very fun class. I really enjoyed it and due to the interesting lessons was able to do very well in it. There is never a dull moment in Dr. Fynboe's class!

He is kind of nerdy and makes weird references, but if you can just laugh at him, you'll love the class. He's super nice and flexible, teaches very well and doesn't give hard tests or papers. You can tell he really loves teaching. I'm a bio major and took this class to get it out of the way, I HIGHLY recommend him.

He loves his job, you can tell because what he does in the classroom and for other students. He's a nerd, but that is what makes him so awesome. He explains every project, and will act parts of the literature out. Slight rough on essays, make sure you read, cell phone out of site and you will be fine.

This is by far one of the best classes I've taken. Funny, knowledgeable, and helpful. Tends to go on a lot of non related rants and can be a little rough on grading papers but it was still a very easy A. As with most classes simply show up and do the assigned work and you'll do fine.

I enjoyed this class and having Dr. Fynboe as my professor. He was more than willing to help me on papers though he is a very tough grader. He is goofey and very intelligent. DR. Fynboe is extremely entertaining. He makes subjects that are boring, fun. I suck at English, I'm dual enrollment, and slacked off a lot but I still got a B. English is hard but he will make it easy.I learned so much from him about writing and life in both ENC1101 and ENC1102. TAKE HIM!

He only does 2 and half hour classes but keeps you pretty entertained with his corky sense of humor. There aren't many essays or book work. I seriously recommend him.

He's definitely interesting, and really hilarious! He made me actually understand English, and how to write a good paper. There's only 3 papers, and a final portfolio. The final portfolio, is a chance to rewrite your first 2 papers, and a small essay on what you learned. I really liked him, wish i could have taken him for 1102!

He's hilarious and knows how to make lectures interesting. He seemed like a difficult grader at first, but by the end you can make it up by revision. There's only 3 papers, and there only 3 pages long each which isn't bad at all. Overall it was an easy A, as long as you put in some effort and show that you're improving.

He knows what hes doing and his assignments build you up till your final paper. 6-7 pages has never been so easy to write. The best lectures and reading assignments. Great Discussions. Do the work, put a little effort in, and get an A. I thought his lectures were pretty interesting too. He has one term paper project you complete throughout the semester in steps. I learned a lot. He explains literature is a whole different light. I liked him & would take again.

I do not think there is a better professor than Dr. Fynboe. He is so passionate about reading and writing that it is contagious. His teaching style is also very modern and fun; he really wants you to learn why it is so important to write well and that you actually become a better writer.

My previous English prof. seemed to view our essays as just a grade, but Fynboe actually wants you to work on your writing skills. Show up, participate, do the work and you'll definitely pass. If you have a concern or are honestly unable to turn in work, let him know. He works with you but hes not the person to pity a sob story.

If you don't care about your education, Scott may not be the instructor for you. Nor would any instructor. He will not coddle you. However, if you put proper time and effort into your assignments, you will be graded fairly. He communicates very clearly what he is looking for and how you can learn in the class, it's up to you as a student.

He is a great professor! He gets into his lectures and will never make you fall asleep. He doesn't give quizzes, but if you don't read the readings, he will give you a pop quiz. He is a tough grader but will give you the chance to redo 2 essays in your final portfolio. He is very clear with what he wants and will help you pass his class.

Dr. Fynboe is a great teacher! The first time I had him, I was just going into IRSC. He's really eccentric & loves a talkative class! PARTICIPATION MATTERS. Be prepared to write a ton of essays! I enjoyed Dr. Fynboe. He is super funny and goes off on tangents about interesting things - takes away from the dry subject. He is very smart and will help you as much as he can. His research paper was pretty long and time consuming, but ended up getting an A on it.

To take this class, you absolutely have to be a reader and a big participator in his class. There was one 6-7 page essay and it was definitely way easier than it sounds. The class was overall very easy and enjoyable. Only problem I have with it is I've sent important emails with RiverMail, along with other people, to him and he never emailed back.

I took Dr Fynboe for both ENC1101 and just finished ENC 1102 and he is the BEST professor at IRSC. He is full of energy and is hysterical. As long as you do the work which is 1 paper broken down into several pieces that you get graded on. Stay up with the assignments and your final paper will be done by the time you have to turn it in.

Very funny and makes class very enjoyable . I genuinely did not want to miss any of his classes because of how great of a professor he was. He is a little weird but that's what makes it funny . He is clear on grading and gives good feedback .

A very enjoyable class. You do not feel like you're working when you are in a lecture. He assigns reading that is not exactly required but highly advised to do since one of the stories you read will be needed for a research paper.

One 7 page paper due at the end of the course, but it's really the only assignment and you work on it starting week three of the class... very manageable if you stay on top of it.

Great class and hilarious professor. Doesn't give much work and you get at least 2-3 weeks to work on it. There really should be no reason to fail this class if you stay on top of everything. Also gives good feedback that has helped me improve my work.

Dr. Fynboe made coming to class more of a pleasant event than a hassle. The in class discussions about the text we read was great. He has a great personality and encourages that students get involved. The worst part is his class is on a multi-part research paper, but as long as you stay on track you will be just fine.

I have taken Dr. Fynboe twice; he's great teacher. Always finds a way to make us laugh. Most lectures come straight from his head and there's not many notes. He is extremely helpful and encouraging. Most homeworks are readings, videos, or songs. There is a group project but most of the topics are fairly easy. 10/10 would take again.

No homework was assigned except for readings every now and then, but theyre short and the class just discuses it. If you do the essays and participate then youll get the grade. His class is lecture heavy but they're entertaining and he can be very enthusiastic about it. The textbook book is required, mostly you're just assigned to read short stories and then have a class discussion the next class. That class discussion is part of your participation grade so chime in occasionally!

One of the best professors ive ever had to date. His class is not just an english class, youll learn communication skills and how to actually get your thoughts onto paper. His lectures are so interesting and he sparks a lot of insightful discussions during class. He is a also THE BEST powerpoints ever, he really cares about his students

I only wrote one essay in his class. Take him and do the work and you will get an A. On the homework assignments there are only like 5 written questions that were easy (it's based on your own opinion). There is not a lot of homework. It is only 1 exam with 10 questions 8 were multiple choice and two were written, but It was so easy! Take him, Now!

It is a super easy class that had about 10 assignments that were opinion based got 100s on all of them, there was a final research paper that was the majority of the grade but it's easy to get an A if you follow guidelines. Highly recommend it for an easy A.

Took in Spring, like 10 HW assignments with 5 or less questions that were based on the reading. Our class was based off on 90's decade, mainly the music and commercials, so for HW we watched the video and looked at the lyrics to answer questions. 2 EC opportunities, extremely easy midterm and final (1 big paper, but divided into parts thru course.

Any presentations he might have you do are very easy, allowing us to record them and send them to him privately as to not have to present in front of a class.

He is an understanding professor, who gives multiple chances to redo work. You can submit late work up until the second to last week of the semester, although after 3 late days of work it is an automatic 30 points deduction. It is almost impossible to get a response from him outside of class.

I was in Dr. Fynboe's new ENC1102 class with a topic of animation. The class was interesting, and I loved learning and writing about pop culture. The base ENC1102 content is still slightly frustrating, so be prepared to write essays and research project planning. Overall, Dr. Fynboe was extremely passionate and easy to follow.
