He is a very helpful professor-the easiest in the math department. Take him unless you plan on going into more math. He grades easy homework-good thing! Quizzes are simple....and NO exams besides final! What more could you ask for?
Great Prof. Take any class he teaches
Teaches math in a way that is easy to understand. he is a little strange, but he does a great job of explaining the material.
best math teacher ever. get him if you can

Scott is a good teacher.
horrible teacher, sooo boring, no voice inflection, sucks, never have him as a teacher if you can help it. seriously this guy needs lessons in public speaking!
You can tell scott just could care less about anything, but the awesome thing is no exams except final. His jokes are corny, too. He's not too bad
Eh. Boring teacher. But no exams par the final. Quizzes weekly, but gives you chances to make up if bombed. Jokes slim to none and he could care less about some stuff.
Awesome, goes very slow so it's easily understood. Weekly quizzes, but is very helpful!!
This is the greatest prof. ever! The guy literally cracks me up some days. He's very helpful and explains things well. Just do the projects on time and ask questions so you understand the quizzes. This guy is hillarious, he doesn't care about too much at all.
do you like not having tests?
He's a great teacher, I was always had trouble understanding math, but I can understand from him. No tests!
Great teacher. A little boring at times but overall he does a great job teaching. Best part of the whole class is no tests! Just short quizes once a week.
He is always willing to help if you have any questions. It's wonderful not having tests, just quizzes once a week. Also, the final isn't worth that many points.

Very helpful, good teacher..EASY. I enjoyed having him as a professor. Projects and homework take very little time to complete.
Out of all of them, he's the best Math 110 teacher to take (trust me, I've gone through others). Very helpful, explains things very well.
This class in insanely easy. If you don't understand the stuff he doesn't care if you just go to his office and take a gander at the answer key. Multiple Choice Final.
Gaulke is the best 111 teacher there is. I didn't like the subject at all before i took his class. I was just praying for a C but ended up with a B. I didn't study or do any extra work. Anyone could get an A in the class if they really wanted to.
As a person he is wierd but he is an awesome teacher.. He makes things simple and he doesnt expect a lot of ridiculous things out of the class. I recommend him for sure
Gaulke is a great professor! Even if you hate math, he will make you like it!
This class was boring but easy. He's a pretty funny guy and pretty helpful. No tests, just weekly quizzes. Homework is only handed in like once or twice a month. Highly Reccommend!!
Take him and you won't regret it. Relative to the other math professors here, his lectures are very easy to follow.
If you oppose or question him or his thinking, you will end up on his bad side--like I was. I personally didn't like him. His jokes were pathetically unfunny, and I found it hard to pay attention in class because he was very very boring. Material=kinda easy. Did better on the final than I thought
Yup, I suck at math and got a D. He did work through the problems well. He's a little dry.
gaulke is a godsend. you may hate math but he makes it as simple as possible. you have to try to fail this class. he show cheat on the calculators and everyting, make sure you take gaulke for math if yu can, also you can go to Ray's bar for homework help
He is pretty easy. He teaches with overheads and then gives clear examples on the board. There is one quiz at the end of every week. NO TESTs, which is awesome. The final is the same as a quiz score, and you have worksheets which help raise your grade as well. No homework, just about 15 questions every month and 1/2 to hand in at once. Highly Recco
No tests and he drops two of the quizes which are really easy anyways. What more can I say? If you have a pulse there is no reason you shouldnt get an A in this class
It's true what you hear. Class was awesome, Gaulke is the most laid back, simple guy that I know and it shows in his class. Not taking him for a math class is simply not logical. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN
One of the best math teachers I have taken. There are no tests, only weekly quizzes which are short and extremely easy if you pay attention and do the homework. Homework is collected once every couple of chapters, and there is an easy project due each week. Easy Easy Easy.
Here's a quote direct from Gaulke in regards to the final: "If you know how to use a calculator, it's not hard to find the answer." Seriously, the class is easy! You get one worksheet a week to do, one quiz a week, and my final is only a 25pt m/c test! He's really great for someone who doesn't like math and normally doesn't do well in it.
Best math professor ever for someone who doesnt like math. Hes realistic and there is no cumulative tests, just weekly quizzes. Highly reccomended.
Makes everything as clear-cut, simple and straight forward as you can get. Teaches you how to do the problem in a series of really good examples. Heavily relies on calculator, which makes everything so much better. Teaches you short cuts (especially for the multiple choice final.) Pretty much an easy "A" even if your bad at math.
I hate math and was terrified of this class, but Gaulke made calc easy for even me to understand. Goes slowly, so it's easy to pick up and his tangents can be quite amusing.
good approach and helpful if students have questions
great
He was a great teacher and I learned a lot from him!! I highly recommend him!!
Pretty easy class....assigns weekly projects to keep the grades up. Pay attention to examples because he could use them on some of the tests. We're allowed to use notecards for most of the exams except for the first couple. Funny....teaches the stuff you have to know for Calculus, nothing else
THE EASIEST!! I absolutely hated math and I ended up with a 104% in the class... amaizing!! if you pay atention in class and go check your project answers with him you will get an A
A wonderful teacher and helps you no matter what kind of question you have. Just do the projects and pay attention in class and there is no way that you can fail this class. Funny!
you really have to do your homework to keep up with him. hes always right, so asking questions is hard because he shoots you down asap. hes cool about checking the weekly projects but SUCH a picky grader! quizzes can be difficult if you dont pay close attention to examples. he tends to go off on a lot of tangents about **** drivers, it can get old
EASY class. Weekly 'project' (it's just homework) and a weekly quiz. The final is easy - get a notecard and it's only 25 points (weekly quizzes are 20). He's helpful if you go to his office, but sometimes he gets frustrated when explaining a question as if it's the most obvious thing in the world and everyone should know what he's talking about.
Gaulke is a great professor! He covers all the material that he quizzes you on every week, which are pretty simplex. Weekly projects are easy if you do the homework. The in class projects are more difficult but manageable. The final is 25 points with a notecard. It is a great was a great calc class! He is a funny guy too! Take him!!!
Gaulke is a great professor! He assigns daily homework, but you don't have to do it, it just helps you understand the material. Gives out weekly projects that consist of a few easy problems and if you go to his office hours he will tell you if you have done them correctly. You are allowed to use notecards on the exams and they are pretty easy.
I have gone on to Calculus 2 now and am struggling because I didn;t get a well enough rounded education from this course. Easy but NOT equivalent to calc 1, and you don't learn all you need.
take him he is really good. teaches math so normal people can understand.
gualke is a decent teacher, but he is a grumpy and unpleasant person. I felt as though he did not prepare us well enough for the exams he gave, the book did a better job of explaining. while he was willing to answer questions about the homework in class, but he was very unapproachable when going to his office. he also lied about xtra credit!
I hated this class but was forced to go everyday in hopes of bringing up my grade. i had to utilize the math lab in order to survive. tests weren't too bad, usually only 10 questions.
I loved Professor Gaulke!
I got in his class at the LAST SECOND! It was so worth it. I'm not done yet, but I am retaking Math111 after failing it with Chadha. I have a B+ and there is nothing more refreshing that the feeling of succeeding. Gaulke is funny, interesting, smart and a great teacher. Take him if you need math111 for gen eds. Hands down best math111 professr
monotone. kinda grumpy. goes on tangents every now and then. overall easy. don't get yourself stressed out over his extremely wordy notes. its all basic algebra/pre-calc. basically just weathered through the class and read my notes one hour before the exam and aced it all.
I don't know how he is for any other class but if you looking to take 109 do not take it with him! He is extremely picky and unreasonable when it comes to tests. He does not want to teach this class and is open about it so most of the time he says things and then on the test he wants something different. I repeat if your taking 109 DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Very boring class but you learn a lot. if you do the homework and study guides tests are pretty straight forward. very picky about details though so follow his format and you will get a good grade. overall a good teacher and fairly easy class.
Very easy going teacher. Class feels like a high school class. Homework is not collected. Professor is helpfull and very clear.
Gaulke is a good teacher, he is very clear in his lectures and is willing to help anyone who asks for it. Only negetive aspect of his class is that 69% is the cutoff for passing.
Take prof. Gaulke for math 111.
EASIEST MATH TEACHER BY FAR!! Took him for 109 & 111, and it was worth it. Anyone who complains about his class, should try out the other professors....good luck. He doesn't collect hmwk, quizzes are 10 pts, and in 111...NO TESTS! Save yourself a LOT of trouble, and take Gaulke.
Gaulke is awesome. Weekly projects and quizzes. Daily suggested problems, but they are not collected or graded. No exams, except the final, which is counted like a quiz. He teaches you real life applications and reinforces this with the projects. Lessons are crystal clear.
Prof Gaulke is awesome. Yes, he is a bit picky on his 109 tests, but just make sure to answer everything completely and you will be fine. Take notes, do the suggested problems and you will be fine. He is always there to help you and is easy to find or contact.
Don't take Calc (111) with anyone other than Gaulke. I took it with Ranaldi the semester before and got a D-with Gaulke I got an A-. The professor really does make all the difference. He grades "projects" which is basically just homework and will check your answer before you hand it in. He is also HILARIOUS!! just go to class and do the hw
Horrible Professor, do not take this Profressor. Very Strict
Only take Gaulke for 111!!!! You learn material week by week, never have to do the homework. Final exam is worth as much as a quiz so you don't have to retain the information! Really easy to fix your grade if you mess up. Really funny and helpful professor--take him for 109 also.
Super easy class and he is a really funny guy. A lot of group work and if you know ANYTHING about math this is an easy A
Gaulke is the best prof for calc, you can acutally follow along and understand it. You get one project and one quiz each week. Dont need to retain anything for the final because he doesn't count it for much. Best professor by far
Scott Gaulke is the worst professor I've ever encountered. He is rude, completely grumpy, and entirely unhelpful. He is at times degrading, and only if you're one of his favorites will you end up liking him. Good luck getting on his good side.
GREAT PROFESSOR. He relates EVERYTHING to the real world which I like and makes the class more enjoyable. I got an F in Calc in High School. If he can teach me calc, then he is an awesome teacher.
Awesome professor. Had him for 109 and 111 and did well in both. He gives short easy multiple choice exams and is very clear with material.
Gaulke is a great prof. Don't use your cell phone in class, he goes off on you. Super easy tests and class in general.
I hate math and Gaulke made everything easy to understand and did not overload us with material. Really helpful in and out of class. If you are confused, ask questions! He will explain everything clearly.
1.Does not clearly outline expectations.2.Disorganized class structure.3.When mistake is made, he tends to take a disproportionately large percentage of the total. 4.inconsistent grading: repeated mistakes can yield vastly different deductions. 5.Uninteresting.has little to no enthusiasm about subject. If you can help it, do not take his classes.
I really do not understand math, but he teaches it pretty clearly. Drops the lowest exam grade which helped me out a lot! Worksheets everyone once in awhile, pretty easy grades. He offers those instead of extra credit.
Very easy class explains everything clearly, and tests are easy. the only problem is if you get one problem wrong on a test you fall to a 90 percent.
His class is super easy and you will actually learn a lot. I have friends that took this course with another professor and spent all their time in the Math Lab asking for help and I got an A without studying once outside of class. You get done early a lot and he explains everything with crystal clarity.
Prof. Gaulke is my absolute favorite Mathematics teacher I have ever had! I have always HATED math, and I somehow, find myself learning a lot and enjoying it at the same time :) The assignments are pretty simple. He offers help whenever needed. He's very quirky, a nice guy all around. I highly recommend taking him for this or any other Math course.
Best math professor at the university. You get one "project" a week, which is just an easy worksheet which never took me more 20 minutes. No other work gets turned in. Tests are 8 multiple choice questions plus 5 true/false. Easy questions too, the T/F is usually right off the practice test, just reworded.Plus you get a cheat sheet. Very Easy
Great professor! Very understanding with homework, projects and tests. Always willing to help. Easy class.
Best calculus teacher you could ask for. Projects are very easy if your follow his exact steps he provides. There are no tricks and tests are pretty easy.
I'm horrible at math and yet still seem to be passing his class. Funny but strict at times and will lecture you. Homework optional. Gives you practice tests that are almost exact replica of actual ones. 100% recommend.
Professor Gaulke makes Math 111 alive again for me!!! He have a style of teaching that makes me wants to sleep but he is the one of the best professors that I had for math. If possible, PICK HIM!!!! I don't remember having to do homework ever during the semster, but there are weekly quizes. And the provides EXACTLY how to do and what he wants.!!!!
Scott was a great professor. I absolutely sucked at math and it was my second time taking the class. he was crystal clear on assignments and always gave you a step by step example to follow for "projects" which are just short worksheets that take about an hour. tests were super easy. gives business and real world examples. take him for real!
Goes through material faster than anyone can understand it. Very short with students when asked questions. Literally learned nothing in class, had to teach myself all the material. I don't know if it's because he is getting close to retirement and doesn't care, or if he understands the material too well to break it down into smaller steps.
Great teacher, very clear. All multiple choice tests. Very happy guy.
Gaulke is a great professor. I took him for math 109 and didn't enjoy the class, but he teaches really well for 111. He explains everything well. Exams are multiple choice and he writes the final based on our exams, so that's always a plus.
It's amazing how much of a difference a good professor can make. I dropped calculus the first time I took it. It was a horrible class. After taking Calculus with Professor Gaulke, I actually understand the material and I am easily passing. He is very clear about what he expects and goes step by step through everything. Take notes. Great professor.
Great professor! Very funny...tells you exactly what he expects on exams and math projects! FInal is only worth 5% of your grade. Exams are multiple choice/true and false. Easy A if you attend class and pay attention.
Great teacher and patient. Very patient and funny! As long as you go to class and do the practice exams, you should be good. His projects are easy ways to gain points. He helps you with homework and projects during his office hours. Rants about interesting facts related with Calculus and sometimes you get out of class early.
