First time teaching at Laney. AWESOME teacher. Made me wonder why I put off taken political science for so long. You should definetely take him. Good dude and cares about his students.

Prof. Godfrey draws you in with his animated lectures and forces you to pay attention by making the discussion interesting. One thing that I look for in a good professor is their ability to show me how I can apply this lesson to my life, and I believe Scott Godfrey does just that. TAKE HIM! You won't regret it!

He's a nice guy who isn't boring and the class is easy but you'll still learn things. What more could you want?

Godfrey was a really easy teacher, you basically need to show up to class and write down all his notes he puts on the board and you will pass. He doesn't take attendance but you should go or you wont pass. He is always available for help and he is a genuinely funny guy who teaches political science really well.

I really enjoyed Professor Godfrey's class. He is truly an amazing teacher and I have already applied material from his class to other classes and real life situations. He barely gave any homework and as long as you go to class and copy the notes, the tests are super easy.

Great teacher. Animated, engaged, extremely clear lectures. Barely any homework. Happy to answer questions and repeat himself if necessary. Take notes, study them, and you will get an A. Every class is interesting and he makes me wish every teacher was like him. You barely have to do the reading to keep up thanks to his lecture style.

Scott is a great guy and awesome teacher that really cares for his students and their success. His lectures are engaging and challenging in a good way. He doesn't necessarily urge classroom discussion, but he does appreciate it when appropriate - when he is pressed for time to finish his lecture. You must take notes! They are crucial to success.

Godfrey is, by far, the best professor I've had in the Peralta district. His lectures are clear, organized, and he keeps them really interesting. There is very little homework but he teaches the material so well that the work would be redundant. Respects students and expects to be respected in return. No talking, or "loud yawns."

i really liked his class. it's so easy. i didnt even buy the textbook. he gives a lot of extra credit, allowed people to turn in late work, and he let us have open book tests! he also lets us play jeopardy in class which is fun and gives us extra credit :)

The class is primarily lecture. I took his class over the summer. If you miss a day, you'll miss a bunch of material, so it's important to go to class. As long as you pay attention and copy down everything he writes on the board, you'll do well on the tests. We had 2 tests and one final - all multiple choice but the first test had a short essay.

Mr. Godfrey is the best Posci teacher at Laney! Lectures are engaging, clear & funny. I really enjoyed playing his jeopardy game! He gives some hw assignments w/ 3 tests. Make sure u take good notes & don't miss class! He really cares about students succeeding & is there to answer your questions. Highly recommend taking his class plus he's so cute!

Professor Godfrey, Scott is one of the my best online teacher at Laney. His online lecture makes me interested in POSCI which I never been interested in before. He cares about his student, very easy to communicate and respond to his student very fast. his books and video are very clear, easy A if you do your work. will highly recommend him.

I took his online class for political science. Scott is very nice and understanding. You need to post on the forum, reply to 2 classmates post and you get participation points. There are also weekly quiz and Exams for every few chapters thats open notes. It's very easy so he's an EASY A Teacher!! Take him if you want an easy class. No textbook too

I was very anxiou to take this class and I wanted to take it online because I thought it would be dreadful to sit in 2 hours learning about politics. Now I wish I had taken the class on campus. Scott Godfrey is a completely intelligent teacher and his design for the summer 6 week class could not have been more easy and straightforward. No textbook required as he provides his own easy to read moodle book. Has quizzes every week, a midterm every other week. All exams are unlimited time and open notes so there is no reason not to pass.

Very straight forward not stressful. Just do all your work and study everything word for word. This class is an easy A if you try but if you dont put effort in it will show in the grade. Its one of those classes where its so simple its like washing dishes, you just have do it even if its repetitive . criteria is simple and he makes civics fun.

For this being an online class, it was not boring at all. Scotts lectures are amazing and he does a great job teaching the class. He is very organized and i would recommend him. I took his online political science and it was awesome. He is a nice guy and as long as you do your work and do it to a decent degree of quality you will likely receive an A. He gives a very reasonable work load and it is manageable given even the most rigorous course load

scott is amazing! he's very clear with his grading & he truly wants you to do well! he gives tons of extra credit to be used on the exams - of which there are three, including the noncumulative final. he spends the day before the exams going over the study guide. he's super funny & he makes the lectures easy & fun. read the notes & you've got it!

Uncle Scott was an amazing professor. He really cares about his students and you can tell by the effort he puts into making sure everyone gets an A. He wants you to pass and will push you and offers quite a bit of extra credit towards exams. Overall, an amazing teacher but even a better human being.

You will have small assignments due throughout the semester and 3 exams. There's a lot of extra credit opportunities and those points go towards your exam grade. He simplifies all the terms you learn in his class so it makes learning easy. He's also a very humorous guy and super nice. Also, a textbook is not required, just show up to class.

Pretty good teacher! Every class was just taking notes. There were a few times we had quizzes but some were open note and they are quizzes based on that days lecture. 3 exams and 3 homework assignments. Exams are easy if you study! Also E.C!! One thing I didnt like about him is that he would get annoyed with us when we kept asking questions.

Scott is an amazing instructor. Class is an easy A if you show up to the lecture and take notes for the simple tests. His teaching methods arent conventional and thats why everyone learns from him. His lectures are interesting and engaging. He spends one class period before the test doing a review to ensure everyone understands. He really cares.

If you show up and take good notes and read what he asks you to read you should get an A. It's an easy class because he's not trying to fool you, he's trying to help you! His study guide matches up with his exams, which take the stress off the exam. Also if you average a B on first 3 exams and do the homework, you don't have to take the final!

Took the online version of his class and it was much easier than expected. He uses straightforward and simple videos to explain the main concepts. Only had 4 big exams (which were all open book and had no time limit). Discussion forums and homework assignments were pretty easy and was always ready to answer any questions. Highly recommend!

He is very straight forward and to the point. He wants you to do well and pass the course. He is very accessible and responds to emails very quickly. We took three exams and dropped the lowest one to balance our final exam grade. I would take again.

Really enjoyed taking this class. Only took it because of the transfer requirements but it was well worth it and easy. The exam questions are relatable to the reading/videos we learn so no surprises. this class was amazing. be ready to take notes but they are very helpful and clear. there are pop quizzes but you can use your notes. show up to class ready to learn and you should pass with flying colors.

I am so happy I chose this professor this semester. Posci is one of the classes I've been avoiding because I thought it's just boring and I really don't care about politics. I took Mr. Godfrey online and made sure I check online at least three times a week. This professor is so passionate about the subject, even made me interested! Hope he stays.

Scott Godrey is a very good professor. Lectures are not too heavy and his class does not require a textbook. You will also learn very good lessons about political science. If you want an easy A, take his class. I definitely recommend him, he is also a pretty funny guy.

Scott is an amazing professor his lectures are organized,amazing, engaging,clear and makes them interesting. His grading is simple 4 exams worth 15% of final grade(60% total) HW 20% of final grade, quizzes 20% of final grade and gives extra credit. In addition, their is no textbook required but lots of note taking so make sure to take down notes.

You can take his online course. Unlimited time for every exam (but you only have one chance.) Discussion forums and writing assignments are not difficult at all. And no textbook, he writes all the concepts in the modules. He is an easy grader.

Professor Godfrey is an excellent Professor. He incorporates current events into his curriculum and explains politics and history in a way that makes it easy to understand. He gives extra credit and his discussions are very engaging. I thought I would hate this class but he made it enjoyable. I would take this Professor again if given the chance!

Definitely recommend taking this class with Professor Godfrey! Coursework was straightforward and if you take a lot of notes and read/listen to everything, the quizzes and tests will be easy. This is my first online class. I enjoy very much from his video lectures; they have clear instructions, brief and detailed explanations about the materials, and everything is in order. Prof Godfrey is SO nice & caring he was the first professor I took at CC and I thought everyone was going to be as nice as him but clearly I was wrong! Anyway, I've met many more professors since Godfrey and he remains the best caring prof I've ever had. He gave the class lots of amnesty on assignments and EC. He's a typical chill & cool guy!

Easiest professor ever. Everything is completely asynchronous. Only assignments you'll have is a weekly homework assignment, a weekly discussion forum, and weekly quiz. There is 3 exams in this class. In the quizzes and exams, you have an unlimited amount of time, and they're not even hard. Homework and discussion forums are really easy.

The professor was great, inspiring, and an easy-grader. The module set-up was clear and straightforward. The lectures were detailed with accompanying lecture videos and interesting outside sources. Not heavy workload, 1 homework, 1 discussion, and 1 one-attempt quiz each week. 4 tests, dropped the lowest one.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this class. He makes political structures digestible and interesting. Very well written online text and videos to break down larger concepts. Good notes help with good grades. He is very well organized, clear, friendly, and responds quickly to questions. You have a week per module, be on time with your work.

I took a chance and took it during the summer only 6 weeks, work at your own pace and you will get behind, I checked 3 or 4 times for any updates. The answers are in the slides that he provides and the podcasts, no textbooks a cost savings. I actually enjoyed the class and walked away with knowledge that I previous didn't have

Very mindful of students with disability, lectures are well organized. Grading system is pretty cool, instead of a percentage its based on points earned. Make sure to be on top of the deadlines but he gives enough time to complete assignments. You will learn many new things about the US gov!

Godfrey's class is by far the easiest I've ever taken. He lays out all the materials in the modules and every test or discussion is based on information in the module. All of his tests and quizzes give you unlimited time to complete them. If you want to learn but also need an easy class, Godfrey is your go-to. Be prepared to take notes and read!

Professor Godfrey was the best! He puts tons of effort into the modules to ensure that everything is streamlined and understandable. He isn't biased toward political beliefs, and I love the judgment-free environment. He told me I didn't have to do more work in the class since I exceeded 675 pts one month early. Open book exams = EASY A!!!

Professor Godfrey was great. I was so nervous going into this class, I've never had a posci class and was expecting it to be impossible, however, Godfrey was definitely the best I could've chosen. Professor Godfrey is literally the best I have had so far. His class is very well organized and easy to access the material. He's also accessible if you have any questions. The topics can be complicated but his lectures make them so easy. There are 4 exams total for the whole semester, but he drops the lowest grade.

I have never had a better teacher. Often let class out early, yet you still learn more in this class than you do in others. He is hilarious and very understanding. Gives wonderful test prep. I wish I could take all my classes with him.

My review is very late but I took Professor Godfrey in Spring of 2023. Honestly, he has been the best professor I have taken! I have no criticism to give, he is very organized and respectful and honestly great. I HIGHLY suggest taking him!

I cannot recommend him enough! He writes his own lectures and includes videos, and sometimes can be long but trust me, read them and you'll get a good grade. All of the material in quizzes/exams are from his lectures.I suggest just checking the modules beginning of the week and turn everything in on time. I felt supported as a student by him.

Really great instructor. Lectures are easy to read, main points highlighted in bold. Videos are interesting and digestible. He breaks things down in very simple terms. Exams, HW, discussions and quizzes are all easy if you study even a little. Only downside: he does not allow extensions. SAS students be warned. He did not honor my accommodations.

I loved taking Prof. Godfrey's class! Each module is easily digestible, and he's made sure they're interesting. If you take notes on the reading, the quizzes/exams will be a breeze! He was a great professor, I took him over the summer and it was so easy to follow along. His course work was all accessible through Canvas and he was very open to emails. He frequently emailed us about real life political events happening. There are people you can tell really love their jobs and are passionate about it; he is one of those people.
