He's a good professor; I believe its his first year teaching. This course is economics and one must realize that it doesn't always make sense. However, he presents the subject in a easy form to understand. Concentrate on notes and the HW. Attendance is a must to understand the subject.

This is by far the best professor I have taken in college. I recently started going to USF, and I couldnt have had a better experience this semester. Professor Grizzard has a big heart and is willing to help anyone who is willing to help themselves. Has open office hours on a daily basis. This class requires hard work so dont slack off!

I took him for Calculus 1 and i went in extremely unsure of him. His lectures can be confusing, but if you put in work outside of class and do the exam review you should have no problem. GO TO OFFICE HOURS. The better he gets to know you and understands the way you think the more he can give you extra points on your tests.

Honestly, Calc 1 needs to be taken with him. You have to work hard, read his lecture notes before class. There will always be a quiz at the beginning of class. It's extremely scary at the beginning of the semester but these quizzes are easy and you can always retake them in office hours. Which I would recommend doing you will do better on the exam.

If you have a choice of who to take Calc 1 with, make sure it's with Scott. The daily quizzes and homework might seem like a lot, but it definitely helps you retain all the information for the test. Professor Grizzard was a fantastic mentor. He is usually accessible outside class. He is friendly, caring, and is very devoted to his job. Attendance is usually checked through a quiz at the beginning of class but the contents are usually easy. Just take notes effectively during class and you'll be fine. And ask questions! He has a motto for this!

Scott was by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. His class was by no means easy but it was manageable and understandable with the daily quizzes and web assigns. He also gave multiple chances for extra credit so it was possible to finish with well over a 100 in the class. If you have the chance to make sure you take him for Calc 1.

I really like how Scott taught this class. I previously took Calculus I in high school but I was really glad I retook this class with him. Scott's clearly passionate about what he does and won't stop teaching until he's sure you understand the subject being discussed. There are daily quizzes, but he gives them to you the day before and lets you correct wrong answers for half credit. There are many opportunities for extra credit as well. Work hard and you'll get an A+

I did not get what Mr Scott was doing when I took his class, but after taking Calc 2 during the Summer, OMG! I get it! I was the only person who understood proofs, limits of sequences, notation, and how to write math in the ENTIRE calc 2 class. Totally worth it! While there is madness in his method, there is method to his method!

Overall great teacher. He gives plenty of extra credit assignments. There is a lot of homework so it's important to stay on track. There are quizzes every class, which are posted beforehand on Canvas. He gives study guides for every exam as well.

Scott will make you work for your grade but if you have the time this class is not that hard. He made learning Calculus enjoyable. I do not recommend taking this class with any upper level sciences course because this class requires time and memorization. The extra credit will SAVE your grade. At first, I was very hesitant to continue taking calculus with him as my professor. After taking the first exam and doing very well I became aware of the reason why he does what he does. Make sure to do all the web-assigns, extra credit and complete the bootleg. If you do all that is asked of you, there is no reason you should not earn an A .

I thought I was going to hate this class after just having taken Pre-Calculus during the previous semester. To my surprise, Professor Grizzard taught in a way that captivated my attention. To make it better, this was his first time teaching Discrete Math. Still, he managed to get us through it, and even taught us a little PHP along the way.

He's very considerate and kind to all students. If you are struggling he will take the time to help you understand. He just wants the best for all his students. I took discrete mathematics with Scott and even with the COVID-19 issues he made a smooth transition. He is ready to answer any questions and his lectures are hilarious. Anyone who has him as a teacher is lucky. He is easy to talk to in and out of class and is constantly giving updates so theres no surprises. Lectures are helpful but dont depend on them. Biggest downside is that theres something due almost everyday with multiple long things due on Friday. Late assignment credit and extra credit is plentiful tho.

I would defiantly take him again. First I had many negative reviews about having a lot of work but let's face it that's in most classes in college if you want to do really well. In the wake of the COVID19 pandemic Professor Grizzard went above and beyond to provide our class with continued lectures via Twitch streaming from his home.

Daily quizzes based off material from previous class but the quizzes are posted the day before for you to review and ask questions (go to office hours!). You will likely use PHP for some code assignments. He really cares about the students and if the class is confused by a concept, he will adjust how he is teaching it for better understanding.

Professor Grizzard is awesome. Lots of extra credit, the course was fun and interesting, and overall just a great experience.

He focuses more on the concepts and proofs (which turn out to be very important). He does not go over a lot of example problems in class, but the nightly homework covers this. He is very accessible and will offer assistance if you are reasonable and polite. It sounds like a heavy workload, but stick it out, do the work, you'll pass with ease.

Great professor, he doesnt explain very well but if you ask something hell do his best to help you. Peer leading every friday are crucial and very helpful.

Scott Grizzard someone managed to undo seventeen years of pure contempt towards math. Starting from Algebra II onward, all the way up to precalc, I really hated math. Scott's class is the first math class that I have enjoyed since the sixth grade. He's supportive, knowledgeable, and wants everyone to succeed.

Scott quickly became one of my favorite professors, ever. Never in my life have I actually enjoyed a math class, or wanted to go to lectures, but Scott conveys his course material in such a humorous, but incredibly informational manner. He WANTS you to learn and WANTS you to pass. You will not regret taking any course with Scott as the professor.

Easiest class. Just literally do everything he says to do and you'll pass. Everything in this class is just pure logic.

Professor Grizzard made the difficult class fun. Even though this was a math class, it was my favorite one this semester. The teaching environment is relaxed. You can get a hold of him almost 24/7 and will get replies very quickly compared to other professors.

Calc 1 is a hard course, no doubt about it. Professor Grizzard definately made the experience much easier. I was able to understand calculus much better than if I had some other professor. However, there was quite the amount of homework required for this class. Near nightly WebAssigns, Problem Sets, Peer Leading, all add up. Takes 3-4 hrs daily.

I'm in my junior year, and this guy is the best professor I've had so far. Caring, funny, and overall just a great guy. A lot of extra credit, I think I had something like a 106.7% on the class by the end of the semester. If you work hard for his class, you'll see the rewards in the end. It is a shame that in calc 2 and 3 there arent profs like him

I was very scared when all of my classes were moved to online for the fall semester. However, Mr. Grizzard has done a perfect job with this transition and has taught me to love math. The class was very well structured and he was extremely helpful and always got back to my emails/discord messages in a very quick and reasonable amount of time.

Scott is such an AMAZING professor. The material was difficult and the workload is a lot, but all of it helps soo much! The class is very lecture and exam heavy but Scott takes a lot of time out to give us an abundance of review materials and review lectures. There are two quizzes a week but he gives you the questions beforehand and they are very easy, and the test questions are taken from the quizzes. Difficult material made easy.

Professor Grizzard was one of the most understanding professors I have ever had. I have never felt so seen in an online class. Granted, it was a very difficult class. Calculus isn't easy in any regard but this class took several hours every day and was overwhelming at times. Overall though, one of the only times I have felt seen by my professor.

Required book titled was stated but only the prof used it. We just watched his lectures online. He's super laid back and chill. He will give you chances n loads of help, so also give him a break. He's like a friend teaching you math is code and code is math. The class basically takes simple math,creates a pattern with it, and applies it to a code.

Professor Scott is genuinely one of the professors who make you reconsider whether or not anything can be difficult to understand given that you have a good professor. Literally just watch the lecture VODs and submit the weekly quizzes (which are easy and take less than 5 minutes to do!) and you're going to do amazingly. That's a promise.

Mr. Scott Grizzard is currently my favorite professor. Every day in class, you can tell he loves his job and math. He gives out extra credit, lets you retake things from class, and explains things well. His section's test grades are just better. Calculus definitely isn't easy, but Scott Grizzard makes it stress free and even a little fun.

Easily one of the best professors on the campus. The workload isn't very large at all and the quizzes are meant to mirror test questions in order to prepare you. He's always willing to help or answer a question and makes it very easy to access him. Overall, if I could take him for my future math classes it would be an easy choice.

Really helps you understand Calculus. I found that he really breaks it down so that we can understand Calculus after moving on from Algebra and Pre-Calc. Truly an awesome instructor!

I took calculus before and failed horribly. I decided to take it again with prof grizzard and passed. To put it blunt, his class does contain a bit of a heavier workload but rest assured, it definitely prepares you for the exams. He explains matters in such a clear and concise (and very funny) manner to the point where anyone can understand.

He has been my absolute favorite professor at USF! He made calculus approachable and made every class funny. His taste in music is impeccable and the class itself had a fun vibe. Overall, I learned so much and while there was a lot of work, it really enforced the material. I would absolute take another class with him.

He formatted the course to require a lot of time and commitment in order to be prepared for each and every class session. It seems excessive at first but the result of keeping pace with it is that, by the time exams come around, you can't help but already be solidly prepared. He is also passionate about helping students with questions.

Scott gives you the quiz ahead of time to study and the opportunity to collaborate on it. Lecture notes due twice a week, not too long. Homework is due almost every day. Scott really cares about your learning so he's always available to help.

Scott Grizzard had to be one of the most AMAZING professors I've ever had. He made sure that we understood the concepts needed for the class extensively. There was never a time when you couldn't reach him (unless he said he wasn't around). His lectures are detailed and there is a lot of homework. However, if you keep up with it you should be good!

While this class was not easy and required a lot of time/study outside of class, he is one of my favorite professors and made this class very fun (which is hard for an evening class)! Scott is hilarious and very caring. He was super helpful in office hours when prepping for quizzes prior to class, and made class very engaging through group work.

Professor Grizzard was a joy to have in class and is hands down one of my favorite teachers, and the best math teacher I've ever had. He's constantly refining his teaching format to better suit his classes, he's quick to reply to questions both in and out of class, and his sparkling personality made his class one of my favorites.

Graduating this semester and just wanted to say I still think of Dr. Grizzard's discrete mathematics. Best class.
