Don't listen to ANY of the comments below. Took his online class this semester & its my first semester in college. He does reset the quiz if you e-mail him at least a day before. Never read just used the book on quizes and got A's & B's. He let me turn in late work with a vaild excuse & ALWAYS responded to my e-mails. You'd be dumb not to take him.

I took his online class. I love that he posts all of the assignments at the beginning of the semester. He is usually very responsive and accomodating. I generally liked him and his class. On the other hand, his tests are rough, you really need to read the textbook to know the answers. Also, there is an excessive amount of writing.

I will be taking more classes from Dr. Howlett. The online experience feels just that - it feels remote. However, I did learn quite a bit over the duration of this course. The focus here is on learning and not fussing about what will be on a test. Bulk of grade is a final essay (not the most lenient), DB, & Connect assignments. Requires discipline.

Ridiculously long final paper, due same week as a fairly long book critique in addition to reading/weekly assignments. Slow to respond to emails. Quizzes and lectures were full of misspellings including important names/places. Never again!
