Dr. James is a great prof. He's straight to the point. Very helpful, he's funny. There're 8 essays, each week turned in 1 essay, each essay was 2 pages long double space = 5 pts/ea. 1 midterm and 1 take home final. Grading scale: 8 essays = 40 pts, 25 pts = midterm, 25 pts = final, and 10 pts for attendent. Overall 100 pts. for class total.

Instructor is one of the best that I've taken. His Class is like open forum, with a lots of open discussion. This is not a sleep through class. you have to put some work and effort. Dr. Scott does a great job with the students. I thoroughly enjoyed the class. Psych100 is harder than you think and requires self discipline. Dr. Scott tells you that in the beginning and it is up to you after that! He will be there for all the support you need, but you have to participate. Great experience. Although I come from another country, I am most appreciative of Dr. Scott's method of instruction. Although most of studies done abroad and I am ESL, Dr. Scott take his time with me and help me very much. I am most grateful to him and I always remember him. even though i got an A and liked coming to class. i would prefer if class hours were spent concentrating on the material and not having side discussions. its a great class, but it should it be better. be prepared to have to learn things he doesnt teach because of poor clock management. i recommend taking this class.

He is an awesome professor. He might come off the wrong way the first few days but you will get used to him, its his eccentric personality. Everything is straightforward and no class is the same. His class is a tad-bit easy as long as you attend class (MOST IMPORTANT! 30pt each, 300 total), study a tad for weekly quizzes (20pt each, 10 quizzes), weekly 2-page papers (20pt each, 10 papers), participation (10pt each, 100 total), and final exam (200pt 3 essay question on 7 theories). Most important thing is to ATTEND CLASS! and study a tad.

Dr. Scott's class was pretty easy. If you do all your work and study for the tests, there is no reason why you shouldn't pass. Just remember that for the final(which is an essay) you need to have a laptop or a blue book? I still have no idea what that blue book is. I lost points because of that, so just be careful.

I recommend this class for improving your test taking ability, writing, and social skills. Show up, write your weekly papers, and study wisely for each type of quiz. He tells you what kind of quiz it will be so study appropriately. He is offering a lot of extra credit but I really don't see why anyone would need extra credit.

This is not a conventional class--not about learning in the conventional sense. It's an experience. It's a grand experiment, designed in a loose, offbeat way to stimulate your growth as a person. If you don't want that from a class, look elsewhere. If you do, it's highly recommended, and Dr. Scott's heart is in exactly the right place for it.

Great class with great professor who has great energy. I loved him and honestly he is the best teacher I've ever had and with the support from my classmates, it was hands down a great experience. You know he's doing something right when you can trust a group of people you don't know more than your own family members.

Every week I would pour my heart and soul into my journals and when Dr. Scott reads them and writes comments on them, I feel like I have someone who understands what I'm going through and what my struggles are, someone I can talk to who will not judge me. I felt like I went through a spiritual journey this semester finding and understanding myself.

He was very kind and amazing. I was absent and didn't turn in my journals in 2 weeks, then I decided to talk to him in person if I could of made up my quizzes and journals (without any hopes).
