His teaching is fine, but the exam is very hard,he will pull out most hard question from CPA exams, even if you do all the homework and study a lot, if you don't prepare for CPA, you will fail the exam easily in his class.

Unless your prepared to pass a CPA exam in your third accounting class, DO NOT take Jerris. You will never be told that the material your studying is pointless, that at least 50% of what you will be tested on is the CPA exam. If you take him, study for the CPA exam before or simultaneously.

Good teacher! Study yourself! He only teaches the most important materials. Everything he mentions in the class is on the exam. I got C in the 1st exam, but 2 A in the last 2 exams. 1st exam is hard, especially time pressure. But the exams are easy towards the end of the semester. Final is not cumulative, only 2 chapters.

Dr. Jerris has gotten a bad rap. He's an extremely good instructor and will do anything he can to help students who truly want to excel in the course. His exams aren't that difficult, if you study. He doesn't include anything on the exams that he didn't cover in class.

If only I had asked around before I took his class. All I can say is don't listen to these postings: ASK students who have had him. Seriously. You wont take him. He has a reputation for being so irresponsible as to never tell students half his tests are from CPA exam, an equally as inconsiderate. A Student-doesnt matter. Can you pass the CPA exam?

If you worked on a presentation for six months, and the day of the presentaion you walked into the room and half the material you needed to be an expert on was changed, on the fly, how would you feel? Thats this class, study one thing for six months, to walk in on the test and it's a CPA exam. Your not even given a chance to prepare. Discusting.

Prof. Jerris is challenging, but the trick to passing his exams is by doing every problem in the book. Once you get into that habit, the exams are not that bad. Make it a habit to go the the acct lab at least three times a week. I would rather take him than the other professors I'm taking now.

I agree that he doesn't really care about his students, but good lectures. Don't expect he would teach the whole chap, he only covers most important part which definetely would be in the exam. the last exam is extremely easy. Only do the assigned homework is not enough. No extra credit or curve, not even 1point.

He is a hard teacher when it comes to grade project. If your group has a regular meeting on preparing the project and follows what he says, you will do fine. Accounting isn't for everyone. Do the homework readings and problems and expect to do well. Most students skip class and don't do the assignments and then complain when they fail. Go figure

He is a good professor. Accounting is not an easy subject and he is willing to help those that put the time and effort into learning the material. He will call you out in class so be prepared! He is much nicer in office hours and he genuinely does want to help students. His personality can be abrasive but thats the New Yorker in him.

It was the hardest class I ever took, very straight and tough class. 6 very hard exams thru the semester. If you don't have time to read the textbook and do extra practice problems I do not suggest you take his class. Drop or withdraw the class if you fail the first exam! take another professor!

Not an easy class - you must know the material inside/out! Read the chapter and do homework before coming to class. Do extra problems; don't miss class. You must understand the concepts to pass his tests with good grades. He grills you because he truly cares. You will learn a lot from him! He really knows his material!

Jerris does problems on the board rather than lecturing/power point. Expectations are clear. Not much time on exams, so you need to know material well, no time to fumble. My advise, do all the homework problems multiple times and on the exam skip questions you can't answer right away and come back to them. About 75% of my class failed.

6 midterms... by the time it came to drop there was only 8 students in my class! i dropped the class due to this guys test being so difficult. You barely have any time to finish and you have a test every two weeks. the stress level is too high for this class with jerris, take it with anyone else. *note this website doesnt let me give a ZERO rating

He is an amazing teacher. I am not sure why so many students here say how rigorous he is. He goes everything that will be on the test in class. No HW yay!!!! I loved the class and learned so much. I even have a new found love for accounting.

He is a great professor. Not to challenging but challenging enough where you will have a firm understanding of Accounting basics. It is test heavy so that means no HW yay.

This is the hardest accounting class you will take, grades are based only on the exams. Multiple choice is hard and get ready to read and study really well for the exams! He teaches by doing problems on the board which is really helpful rather than lectures that require you to do problems on your own with no answer key.

the best professor ever. come to every class., do homework, do practice exams. have 5 exams each covers 2-3 chapters so easy to focus. not a PPT professor, just explains everything on the board. he as a bit of an attitude but it is all good as he does his job as he supposed to.
