He was an amazing teacher he was very helpful and answered any questions I had. GREAT!!! Not a boring class he makes it fun
Mr. Keim is a godsend for English students! As a writer myself, I enjoyed endless chats with him on literature and writing. He can be somewhat tough on grading, but he is ever helpful and COMPLETELY in love with English. For someone focusing on writing or literature, you'd do well to have him for class!
Such a great prof!
Loves to lecture on materials Gives the students benefit of doubt Clear about assignments and expectations
If you are taking either English 105 or 106 in this school then he is the only techer to take. I had him for both classes and he is the best English teacher in LCCC.
Professor Keim is the most helpful man ever! He will do anything for his students AS LONG AS YOU TRY AND COME TO CLASS! He will go out of his way! He is such a funny guy and keeps class interesting! He loved to see EFFORT, EFFORT, AND EFFORT!!!!!! Please take him! You won't regret it!
He was a very good professor. very helpful and great with questions. easy to work with
Mr. Keim is the best teacher ever. I had him for English 105,106, and im am going to take another class with him this upcoming semester. He is the BEST!!!
Mr. Keim is a wonderful professor and a great person. He knows the material and knows how to relate to people!
The best professor I've ever had! Would take this class again for fun if I had the time. He loves the class and what he does so much that you can tell. Test grades wont push you down as long as you can write a good essay with lots of mistery in it and a good tittle! Dont Register late, his classes get full as soon as reg. Is open! He is the bestt!
First semester and coming into the course didn't know much and had no interest in writing papers, Mr. Keim was very clear and was very organized in dates and deadlines. He provides his students with extra materials and resources we can use if we get stuck or places we can seek for help! He has the best interest of his students and is very helpful
PROFESSOR KEIM IS AWESOME!. He is very kind to his students needs, helpful, really cares about his students. I took him for 105 & 106. Interesting lectures......He explains everything.
very helpful and easy going. knowing some other people in the class he does seem to grade you work on what he expects from you. He is kind of tough on grading things like coma's.
Professor Keim was a great professor! I wish I was able to take another class with him this semester! He truly cares about giving students the abilities they need to learn in able to succeed in college.
Professor Keim is a awesome teacher! In every way possible. He's makes class enjoyable and interesting. His grading is beyond fair. You do the work and pay attention you will do good. He's willing to help anyone who asks for it. I just returned to school after 10 years of being out. I told him about that and did whatever he could to help me.
Awesome! Would def take another class with him in the future!
Professor Keim is amazingg! I highly recommend him.
Professor Keim was very helpful when approached. I kept the MLA handbook as a reference for future papers. I did learn a lot in his class, mostly via the handbook. I also submitted all of my papers to the OWL tutors to review before submitting to him. Thankfully, there was very little I needed to correct and I earned an A in his class.
At first I was placed into English 100 and had professor Keim. After writing the class introductory essay, he approached me and said I should be placed in English 105. He worked with me and squeezed me into his roster on his English 105 online class. I ended the semester with a B+. So thankful for him! Will be taking future English courses with him
I really did like this class. Even when I didn't read the assignments, I could still participate in the class discussion. I got a check plus on all small essays and an A on all the big ones. Not hard if you listen to him.
He is a great professor!1 He helps with everything and givers good Feedback on your work. He gives you time and helps you with writing the paper. He supports you and as long as you do what he asks and give effort, you would definitely pass the class. Taking him Again for Eng 106
He is wonderful!
i took him, for online classes. he give you a week to complete each unit and he only gives at least 3 assignments in each unit. and the assignments are easy. beware of the fact that he does check to see if your online everyday, so i was online everyday for about 30-40mins
awesome teacher! had professor keim for english 105, & waited so I could take him for english 106! he's beyond helpful, & gives awesome feedback. highly recommend!!
Very helpful teacher.
Great guy, even better teacher. I have passed this class with a high average, and I plan to take his classes in the future. Very helpful guy with clear, specific tasks.
He's helpful in terms of stating what he expects.. I emailed him to clarify a comment he made on my paper so that I would understand for future papers and he stated he "didn't have time" to go over it with me. I'm sorry but if I'm paying tuition and have a question you should be answering it at some point...
Professor Keim responded to my e-mails in a timely manner, and he gave great feedback on all my papers. I look forward to having him for my ENG106.
Prof Keim is one of the best teachers in the English division at LCCC, as well as one of the best teachers period, that I have ever had. He is helpful, understanding, explains things well, and does not rush lectures or assignments.
Just an overall amazing guy.
He was very engaging during lecture. Very approachable and easy to understand.
Professor Keim is a kind and amazing teacher. He was very patient and worked with me. He responded to my emails right away. I plan on taking him for English 106.
Keim is one of the greats at LCCC. I had enough ENG credits upon entering my freshmen year of LCCC, but Keim was such a good professor that I took more and more. Not only does he engage his students, but he is more than willing to help with out-of-the-classroom problems and offer insight. *Highly recommended prof.*
Best English professor/teacher I have had. Makes class enjoyable and is willing to help with any problem you have. Gives good feedback and ideas when writing papers. Lectures are easy to follow and the class is enjoyable. I plan on taking ENG106 and any other English class I possibly can with him!
If you're in the classroom, then he's talking, no exceptions. Tough class but fair. Occasionally cracks a good joke.
Took the online class, really glad I did. The class is basically just discussion forums (easy but mandatory), very few homework assignments, and about 5 papers. He practically lets you choose what you want to write about, the rubrics are easy to follow, and he answers emails quickly. I would definitely take him again!
Easy A online! We did a total of 2 essays. One annotated bib, one homework assignment, light reading, and the research paper. This course is pretty basic if you know MLA format and can write a decent paper. Pick a good topic with plenty of sources for research paper. Keep up with assignments and you'll pass. He's not a tough grader. Don't be lazy!
He's a great prof. He will help you out in any way even if it isn't for his class. he's understanding if you have a problem and can't make it he's an email away and will understand. He's interested in his students and helping them achieve while still giving a challenge. I'm going to my 3rd class with him this semester with gothic horror. Cant wait
I am glad I took his summer course online. I honestly should have taken his class as one of my first courses. He really wants to prepare you for the papers that other professors usually grade toughly. It starts off pretty fast but over the course he gives you plenty of time to work on your papers. I hope to work with him again in the future.
Honestly you just have to participate and read the stories. If you can write a decent college essay youll be fine. He is very good at responding to emails in a timely manner.
Awesome professor! Also took him for ENG105 online and it was the same style of teaching. Read your stories & answer questions in forum. A few essays but nothing too drastic if you do well w/ essays. No final as he was nice enough to just give us one last assignment before thanksgiving to prepare for other course finals. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!
Amazing professor. Hes so kind & understanding. Fair grader when it comes to papers. You can really talk to him about anything, which makes him much more approachable & likeable. Highly recommend Keim. Hes great.
Had Keim for 3 classes. He's the best English professor you could ever have for any class! I highly recommend taking him for any English credit you need. Very funny, and respectable and is willing to help you the best he can with any work!
Great for a winter session class. Do the readings answer the questions. He does try to push you if your writing skills are decent. Fair grader and gives feedback. Follow his feedback and you will probably get an A. I learned what I needed to work on in my writing which I appreciate.
Professor Keim is a wonderful teacher. Very clear on what he expects from students and fair with grading. Im a single mom who also works full time. I took his online condensed eng106 course over winter session. Although it was ALOT of work- lots of reading, discussion forums 2-3x per week, essays etc- it was still doable. Great guy!
This Professor does not encourage to better his students instead he tries to be little them. Rather than working with the student to excel their learning he talks down to you. I would stay away from this Professor. Not quite sure how he is still in the teaching profession giving how he treats his stufent. LCCC should be ashamed to have him
I took Intro to literature online. He did require a lot of reading short stories but they were easy reading. He requires short discussions each week based off your readings but just grades off of participation. There are two essays and one research paper. If I had to take the class again I would take him in person. Easy A. Know MLA
One of the best English professors I've ever had. If anyone has a bad experience, it's because they procrastinated. He gives ample time to complete assignments and even extends it if you ask. He gives you an up-to-date assignment schedule and explains if you don't understand. Read the assignments, study, do the work, and you'll get a high grade.
He's a great professor, really inspiring and respectful. He loves when you work ahead and he gives awesome feedback.
I took the summer class, 5 weeks. It was very challenging, very heavy but even though I got A+ I worked very hard for my graded. The only negative feedback that I have is I would like to get more feedbacks for my forums when I didnt get full points just to know what I did wrong. The professor respond quick if you ask for questions.
This was a very slow-paced class in which the amount of reading required was much less than in ENG106. Classes reflect middle school instructional practices. He has students read aloud passages from the work of literature that we are studying. When he says that we are going to have a discussion, that means he talks and allows nobody else to.
Although early British literature is heavily influenced by Christianity, this instructor assumes all the students are Christians. In secular colleges and universities, scholars refer to the Hebrew Bible, but this instructor calls it the Old Testament. This is not Liberty University or Notre Dame.
He told our class that he is a "visual learner." How is that possible for an instructor teaching college level English Literature? Isn't "visual learner" an euphemism for poor scholar? I guess this did not come up in his interview, because this would definitely be a red flag in staffing an English faculty.
He lectures A LOT, but gives out good grades if you participate and submit adequate work. You NEED to purchase the required textbooks, but beware of minimal use -- you'll read 2 or 3 stories per book. DON'T miss discussion posts, those four point assignments can make or break your grade. Not terrible, pretty average, grades a lot with low points
Very non-problematic class. Prof. Keim is friendly, accessible, and willing to answer any questions. Fast grading and prompt feedback. His kind/encouraging comments on my research paper motivated me to finish up the semester.
I never do this but proff Scott is a great professor , as long as you do all your assignments you will pass believe me. He grade super easy and make you understand where you went wrong. His so nice. I would take him again if I could.
I got a B in this class and never understood why. I held an A/A- all semester and suddenly got a B. This prof is lecture HEAVY and likes pop quizzes. He's a nice man, but seems like the kind of prof that wants you to give him HIS answer, not yours, and you'll get points off for it. Participation is mandatory, he'll pull your name to read or answer.
Gives Good Feedback
5 week online course, textbook mandatory. Graded on discussion forums-essay answers and quizzes mostly. Mostly short stories, poems by ED, and one play - Oedipus the King. Relatively easy as all you have to do is READ, and you'll know the answers to questions. Did not like grading system- Prof. Keim responds quickly, gives good fb.
Best professor I've encountered during an online course, hands down! All his assignments are very well organized, he grades promptly, and provides great feedback so you understand why you did well or where you went wrong. If you make an effort to complete the readings and submit assignments on time you'll most definitely do well.
Professor Keim was one of the best English teachers I have ever had. His questions and expectations were always so clear, and responds to emails fast. He gives lots of time to complete assignments, and gives good feedback if there is something that you did wrong.
I took his 4 week online winter semester Literature class, and I'm so glad I did. He gives great feedback, and as long as you do everything he requires you should get an A! majority of the semester consisted of discussion forms posts and 20 question quizzes
Very understanding and flexible, takes time out of his day to help students not only with their grades but future.
Prof. Keim was by far by favorite and will definitely be taking again. Class was online, 7 weeks long accelerated term. The class was short and had a lot of work, but easy to complete. As long as you do the assignments you will get an A or B. Super accessible outside of class and gives amazing feedback for both good and bad reasons.
best teacher very organize and fair.
Took his class in person and online. The sweetest professor I've ever met.If you're taking his course online don't get the book use sparknotes and save yourself some cash almost all of his assignment stories are either leaked online or on sparknotes did all the 4pt discussions in like a day and finished his class in a month.
Professor Keim cares about his students and wants to see them succeed. He is always willing to help and teach. Never be afraid to ask questions, he is happy to answer them.
I would take his class again and very much dislike reading! This professor was very kind and understanding. He had clear grading criteria so you knew exactly what to expect for a high grade. Overall GREAT PROFESSOR!
Took him for Spring 2023. Very passionate about literature. Expect to read from the textbook A LOT and use it to study for the quizzes. Also, referring to it for a few Card Report Analyses and one research paper. Overall, great professor and genuinely takes an interest in his students. Just show up to class, pay attention, and take notes.
Best professor ever. All I need to say.
Great professor mixes a clear well taught semester of English with real-life experiences and advice. Would recommend to any student he is very patient and cares about every one of his students.
I took his class during the winter semester and it was very easy. I suggest you read the assigned pages because the quizzes are based on the story. The quizzes were short and simple. Start assignment's as early as you can to get them in on time.
I can write a whole essay on how Professor Keim is an amazing teacher. Not only does he care about actually teaching his students, he cares about their opinions, and he also tries to help students for when they transfer to a 4 year college. He always answers his emails and makes himself available before or after class.
Professor Keim is great! I took him online for a five-week class. His expectations are clear and he gives good feedback after essays. I would 100% take him again. I enjoyed the class and I am not the greatest writer.
THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! I loved this class so much! Professor Keim was so understanding and a really great grader. He had amazing constructive criticism and was very kind! 10/10! Took him in an accelerated course and he was amazing! Only reason I received a B was because I did submit things late but can get an easy A!
I took ENG 106 Accelerated. There was not too much work, and he gave great feedback on the 2 reports submitted. We had about 3-4 discussion boards due per week and I believe we only took 2 tests which were easy as long as you read the material and understood it, which he made sure you did by responding to discussion boards.
He was very understanding of my busy schedule. One time I showed up late to my online class (about 1 hour late for a two hour class), and he stayed late afterwards to show me what some of what I missed while he was waiting for his next class. He was upfront about how papers would be graded, and always gave great feedback to help improve essays.
Genuinely cares about each student and it is clear he loves his job. Goes the extra mile to help those in need. If you try your hardest, he will be more than fair in grading and help you understand for later assignments. Went out of my way to take him again for ENG106 because I enjoyed his class so much.
