Dr. Kight is amazing. Even if you have no interest in his field, you will leave his class wanting to know more because he is so enthusiastic about it. You just hope you find in your life a career that fits you as well as his career fits him.

Easiest grad level course I've ever taken. This guy is AWESOME!!!

Tests amd final are multiple choice, attendance is not mandatory (though strongly encouraged). His lectures are consistent, interesting and come straight from the book. He's animated which makes the class more fun and he's not too bad to look at either. If you pay attention and take good notes it's an easy A.

uses powerpoint every lecture and the tests come straight from his notes. notes correspond with the book. tests are multiple choice, even the final is composed of questions from the previous tests. if you get bored, just stare, he's pretty hot.

i really like him, hes great; take him!!! (but it is hard, people study 5-6 hours for his tests, oherwise you will learn quite alot!)

Kight is an amazing teacher; he uses everyday life as examples to clarify the material. Make sure you read the chapter before you attend class. Tests are fair, but you must study. I studied for 3 days just for the third exam, and managed an A. An A is possible; just work for it. I highly recommend him.

Amazing teacher and the nicest guy you'll meet. Makes the material fun and relates it to real-world examples. Tests are reasonable, A's are def possible if you study enough. He is just about the most interesting teacher I have had. There was hardly a time I zoned out of his class, not wanting to miss any part. He made the class interesting and educational. Excellent professor for graduate Ecology, but if English is your second language and/or you don't have an undergraduate degree in Ecology and care about your grade, you should read a textbook before or during the semester, because he only uses research articles as material, articles which are discussed in class, which is particularly challenging.

LOVE HIM! He is so helpful! I took this class online, entomolgy, a 3 week course and I cannot believe how easy he makes it. Every week before thursday we need to do about 7-8 quizzes and 1 essay each week. So far I have a 95 average. I know taking it online is probably so much easier than in person cuz some questions are tricky.He is the best !!!

Gives three multiple choice exams and a final. He drops the lowest grade so you don't even need to take all four exams. You definitely need to make sure to understand concepts because his exams can be a little tricky since he doesn't want you to just memorize. You can pass with just reading the book and not attending lecture, but it is helpful.

Professor Kight is an amazing professor and he is there for you if needed , for his test you must be able to understand his concepts really well because his test are very tricky. he drops the lowest grade his test are hard but in thinking matter so study hard and dont cramp it all . there is no curves the grade you earn is the grade you get.

The content wasn't too hard but his exam format is the worst. It was extremely distracting and the lab wasn't much better either. I know there's not too many options in choosing the professors but I'd avoid him if possible.

Professor Kight is a GREAT professor. I took this class online for 3 weeks. There was a lot of listening to lectures and quizzes due in one week BUT that's what a 3 week summer class consists of, you can't expect it to be easy. Some of the quizzes were tricky but if you work hard you will get a good grade. Definitely will take him again!

His exams are CONCEPTUAL, so memorizing won't help much. Not studying also guarantees a failing grade. Aside from that, he's hilarious, approachable and very into teaching and bio. Would definitely take again.

Dr. Kight is a great teacher, but his exams are very tough! They are entirely open ended questions and he is VERY specific about what he wants for an answer. There's 3 exams, a final, and a 10+ page paper. He drops the lowest grade out of the 4 tests. This class requires a lot of studying. I recorded all the lectures and read almost every chapter.

Dr. Kight is the best professor I ever have! He is down to the earth and very clear in his explanation about how things work. If you pay attention on his lecture, you will get an A for sure. Exams are all multiple choices. He entertained students by making different jokes; I loved the UPS guy story when he used as an example for Sexual Selection.

I took his evolution course online and it was not bad at all. There are quizzes you need to complete each week plus an online lab report which is very easy to do. The material was presented in a very fair, organized and clever way. Just expect to take very detailed notes because his quizzes tend to be a little tricky. Overall, very good professor!

If you're serious about bio, take him. He takes time to explain things, encourages students to ask questions, offers tutoring. Difficult exams heavily centered on lectures, studying is a must. You must understand the material and not just memorize text. Tests require you to really think and reason. He talks fast so best to record all lectures.

Absolutely brilliant! He only taught for part of the semester as a substitute, but it was clear why he is associate dean. So passionate, engaging, approachable, and just a very enjoyable and admirable teacher. You must care of course, but lectures are so interesting with him, and there is relatively minimal pressure.
