This was a fairly easy class considering one test was dropped. Professor was nice and interesting, but I would say a good majority of the class disliked him. We finished with quite a few people dropping out, and I passed with a low B. Tests are kinda hard
Not very clear and clashed with the info in the book. Nice guy but i couldnt grasp what he was teaching at all and the tests were worded difficultly. i wouldnt take him again.

don't expect to learn from him. he gets pissed if u ask questions. he goes off on tantrums easily. he went on a tantrum for 27 min on horse shoe throwing!!! why...only god knows? if u take him, be prepared to take the class again!
He wasn't at all helpful. The class was AFRAID to ask him questions. When one brave student did happen to raise their hand he seemed personally attacked and became very condescending. He thinks he's John Cusack too.

FINDS NEW WAYS TO MAKE MATH BORING. GETS ANGRY WHEN QUESTIONED OR ASKED TO REPEAT. FAMOUS QUOTE "THAT'S JUST THE WAY IT IS. YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHY".
He never explained concepts, ignored requests for help and tested on material that was never supposed to be covered. I'm glad I took this class for review, because I would have never passed if I hadn't known algebra. DON'T TAKE HIM.
Not a good teacher in terms for his willingness to clarify and help. Wish i understood what he was teaching. Not really gonna learn with him they way u should. Does go off on tantrums and sometimes makes u feel dumb and inadequete.
Tests are kinda hard and he gets mad at having to repeat things! It only makes sense if you are good in math! He gets mad if you ask a "easy" question. There used to be about 30 kids in the class and its dropped down to about 10-seriously

Doesn't teach by the book, he adds his own little something to his tests that teachers in other depts had no clue as to working out his problems. We are so happy that we wasted our time and money and our GPA with this guy. Avoid him if you are wise

Very hard and impatient. He exspects you to know everything. Always gives you tests on info not covered and exspects you to know. Be prepared to take this class over if you take him. I repeated the class and took another professor and I learned more.

He was bad, very very bad. He is obnoxious and personally does not care if you fail. I wish I had a loud mic. to let the whole world know that he needs to be reevaluated because he sucks.
Do not take this prof. He is really bad. Gets very annoied if you ask him for help. I repeated something to him in casual conversation and he told me no I was wrong and then in gave ti back to me and another student in more complicated terms. Avoid him!
Don't EVER EVER take his class. He's not helpfull and his tests are really hard and nothing like the home work. Out of 20 Students last semester about 7 students showed up for the finals and I think only 3 passed and I was one of the luck ones.
He sucks! If you like being completely confused and frustrated this is the man to take. He expects you to already know everything, and when he attempts to teach, you are just distracted by his love for insulting his students questions. please, please do yourself a favor and stay far, far away!!!

Do not take Col. Alg. with this professor. He does not explain well and expects you to know everything by yourself. He wastes class time explaining easy stuff and goes fast on difficult material.
This class is not for everyone, but he doesn't deserve all the bad press. Just be prepared to work and pay attention; it's college, it's supposed to be a challenge. He does go fast, skips steps, and is cynical, but the class isn't hard. If you can't get through this, you don't deserve a degree.
Make sure you do all the homeworks and study hard. Professor Krise is a nice guy but he isn't clear and his notes are worthless. I had to teach everything myself and if I had questions, i went to mathlab for help.

Mr. krise means well, but he is in the middle of a mid life crisis. so you'll have to excuse him. He laughes and sighs vindictavely at every question. If you know algebra, take him. Other wise avoid him.

Ok so Mr. Krise is from Jersey. That's were it all starts. Usually when you get teased as a child, you grow up to do the same (in this case to his students) to feel superior. Ok we understand YOU know the material, but we don't. And by the way he teaches... we probably never will! Tutor=Friend!
He is the worst teacher I have ever had. He literally doesnt care if you do good or fail. You have to teach yourself and go in for help at the math lab. If you miss a class he rarely responds to emails. He insults students and makes them feel stupid. I hope he gets fired!!!
He shouldn't have to care if you fail or pass... this is college. These professors aren't paid to hold our hands like they were in high school. Suck it up, this is not the hardest class we'll ever take. I got an A doing pretty minimal work - I just did the homework, and paid attention in class.
First off,who ever wrote the bit about-Growing up and just doing the work-is a stupid ass.I'm an A-ish student,and it's not easy.This class isn't a "Teach-yourself", but you will be doing that if you take him. Seriously,he's not good at teaching math. Don't waist your money by "Trying to grow-up".
Never take a class with this professor! You will basically have to learn algebra on your own, then he'll go over the homework and give you a quiz almost every class. The 20 quizes he gives count for 60% of your grade.
I feel he is changed from what everyone has said. He was the most laid back math teacher I have had. He explains the problems if you need help ,gives you super easy wksts & the answers to them so you can study. His tests are exactly what he goes over.don't use the book much!!

For someone who spends most of his life teaching math to college students, he's pretty pleasant. He sometimes goes too fast in class but he's always willing to help out if you get lost. He's a good guy.

Very difficult Professor from my experience.Out of the 28 students who started the class only 4 made it to the final. I didn't find him to be very helpful or understanding, granted i took his class a couple semesters ago.Word of advice though, if math does not come easily to you....you're better off taking a different professor.
While I was in Krise was a jerk, however now that it's over and I got B, it wasn't that bad. If you do your homework, DO THE OPTIONAL NOTEBOOK, and show up, you should be alright. His quizes and the final aren't multiple choice, but it gives him a chance to give you credit for the things you did do right, even if the final answer isn't right.
Though he might be a nice guy, he definately is not for someone who struggles with math. You will be teaching yourself. He spends little time going over homework then somehow spends the reat of the class trying to teach.. Not very helpful at all. If you like math this guy might be for you. He does not collect homework. loves to give quizzes
Math is definitely not my strong point and I got an A in his class. He's nice most of the time. To pass the class all you have to do is pay attention and DO THE HOMEWORK, trust me if you understand the homework you'll definitely do good on his tests. Take advantage of his office hrs. He's willing to help but have to ask.
get ready to learn math on your own. its rediculous to go into a class expected to teach yourself. he's more than helpful to explain answers but doesnt understand why so many people are confused. i'd recommend him as a LAST RESORT...good luck.
I do not know what to tell. Personally, I like the way he teaches, I mean, I get A and do not have to go to class. What more can you ask for? However, if you are not good at Math and need real instruction, he is not what you need. Be careful when you make decision.

If you already know math, take the course with him. If you are going to college to learn, please find another instructor because he does not know that student need to be taught. According with him, you should already know that. I went from an A in previous math classes to failing overnight.
This professor assumes that you already know the material. If you tell him that something is unclear, he just repeats himself instead of explaining it in more detail. I enjoyed math immensely before this class and had A's. Got an F this time and have to repeat it. Will not be with him. Watch out, if you want to learn, take another professor!
Do not take this teacher. He just expects you to know all the material on the first day of school. He never explains anything in a clear way. He also missed like a month of school. So there were whole chapters we never really learned but were still tested on. I got a C and that was a miracle.

Don't take his class if you need hands on, in your face, spoon feeding, visual learning. He's a read the book and you'll learn type of teacher. He'd rather just be playing with numbers than explaining how to play with numbers. He's a nice guy but not great for those who struggle with math.

BEWARE! My class started out with about 25-30 students, and by the end of the year there were 5 of us. His "optional extra credit" online homework really isn't optional if you want to pass. He gets easily frusterated, and changed his grading scale 3 times. His response to us all failing? "I have tenure." The homework is always word problem packets.

Krise is the worst professor to take if you are not a math person! He is not open to questions and when you do have the nerve to ask he looks down at you; pauses, tries to control his anger, answers your question vaguely, and then tells the class if they dont know that by now "you dont need to be in this class". Run!!!!!!!!!

Expect Mid-term problems, portfolios, vocabulary, and unfair grading in testing. Assumes you know everything from the textbooks. Lectures nothing in classes, learn from your book. Would never take again!!!!
Mr. Krise is a terrible teacher. I had to drop this class because he wouldnt help and assumes that you know everything already. The portfolio problems are impossible to get credit for as well. do not take his classes.
i had to drop krise's class simply because he cant teach. you basically have to teach yourself by doing all the homework, and all he does is go over any problems you didnt understand. i've always been good at math and for me to have to drop this class cuz i was failing was ****ing pointless
Krise seems like he really should be doing something other than teaching. He hates when people ask him to repeat himself, when anyone asks when a test is, or when someone doesn't grasp an idea. He doesn't instill a love for learning the material, nor does he think it is his job to do so.
Dude everyone said krise was soo hard, i thought so too but then i realized you just have to put like a little effort into his class and you can get an A or B. he is a little ****in crazy with that whole capstone stuff, and word problems wooo word problems but i liked the guy. his sarcasm was always sweet.

I loved Professor Krise! I absolutely hate math and I thought Math for the Liberal Arts was easy. Scott was very helpful as long as you do the homework. Attend class every day and you'll ace it. Scott's intelligent and funny, and since he's young he relates to students very well. Don't listen to the bad reviews, Professor Krise is great!
He explains things in a way u can understand, but his tests are extremely hard. There are 5,and they are only worth 40% of your grade. The other 60% you have to write an essay with the problem, answers and what they mean. His third test was so hard that if u miss the first question all the others will be wrong. VERY HARD CLASS! I've always been fairly good at math but this class was absolutely horrific. He expects you to KNOW everything prior to this class even if you are rusty. He doesnt really at teach at all. Math for the Liberal Arts was fine....I aced the class but when I took College Algebra it was HORRIBLE. His word problems and tests are NOT based on homework.

Okay, Krise is an OK guy, but as a teacher hes one of the worst I've had. When he's not teaching he makes fun of other students in other classes. And when he's teaching he sort of makes fun of you. If you ask a question he makes this exasperated sigh and stares at you like "how do you NOT know this?" He's full of himself and SHOULD NOT BE A TEACHER

Mr.Krise's class was interesting. The good thing is he let's us choose what we want to get graded on. Have good attendance, get help on the reports and tests, you will do fine. Mr. Krise, is approachable. He is just misunderstood, learn to adapt to his mood. Despite it all he is very knowlegeable. Ask if you don't know!
Attend, work hard and aim to pass, and you will. This prof. is very knowledgable, but the short classes does not allow for him to pass the knowledge on. A recommendation would be that he covers less, but goes into greater depth about the key concepts. His reports and tests are difficult, but he allows group work and offers help.

My friends and I spent hours in the math lab with tutors who couldn't even figure out his "write up reports" and material fit for an accounting class. Only take him with firm understanding of mathematical concepts. However, as a student who has been struggling with math for many years, this class wasn't for me. Heading straight into very difficult word problems with even less understanding and explanation is like heading into an abrupt car crash.

He never taught us a single thing, we were expected to know everything, treated like idiots if we didn't and then asked to take a test. I've never seen a WHOLE class fail a test before. Worst teacher I've EVER had.
Not Good
OK here's how it's going to go. You're going to get in class. He's going to say form in groups. Then he's going to give you word problems, and he walks around watching what you do and steps in for a little brief explanation and you're on your own from there. If you're good in math I say go for it. If you're not so good in math then stay far away.

He's an excellent teacher.. The method isnt like a normal math class, instead of endless repetitive homework, you concentrate on learning each formula very clearly, and you write reports about the math, which forces you to actually understand it. brilliant.
I have been excellent at math all through high school. This man is a joke. He does not teach you ANYTHING. He talks slow and goes over pointless, irrelevent information. He makes everyone feel dumb and makes you work in groups where NO ONE knows what they are doing. The first "cornerstone," which is a test, EVERYONE FAILED!! DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!
for the love of God, if you are not a genius in math, save yourself from taking his class! you have to search hard for a good tutor who actually understands his material. WARNING: answers to word problems are to be written in essay-like form!! it's not impossible but time-consuming and rediculous. about like 10 students dropped within 2 months
Awful terrible horrible useless waste of a professor. Starts you out on the first day with homework he hasn't gone over the material for, and the pattern continues throughout the class. Doesn't explain concepts unless asked, and then his explanations are unclear and brief. Don't take him unless you are already skilled in math.
Professor Krise is one of the worst math teachers I have had. He assigns homework without teaching the material and then you take tests on what you haven't learned. This is not your normal MAC1105 but this class is very insightful and really opens you up to understanding how to use math in the real world. If you like to write and do not really enjoy doing repetitive math problems then you will enjoy this class.

The worst teacher ever! Blood, sweat and, literally, tears to earn a B. Tons of reports. Homework the easiest being that it was all online but the teacher never goes over it unless asked to review specific problems. If you care about your GPA do NOT take this class!
got a b. spent hours and hours (and hours) per week in the math lab trying to complete reports (40% of grade). every OUNCE of information obtained was from one tutor (the only tutor in the entire math lab who knows how to solve his problems)also,lazy grader. thought i was failing all semester. i cried, a few times.

It's a pretty hard class, but you actually learn very good concepts and skills. Take him if you're good and math and actually WANT to learn the material

I'm dual enrolling and have an A in Calculus at the high school. I was almost failing in College Algebra... Say something? I'm very good at math, and I was surprised at the difficulty of this class with this professor. The word problems are surprisingly difficult, which is all we do, and reports. It would be MUCH easier with another professor.
He can be nice if he wants to but he is very moody, doesnt like question and doesnt teach half of the semester. it is always group work and you have to teach each other. the only good thing you have the word problem from the beginning which include the 3 exams so you can totaly prepare for those.you have to write a report to the problems which suck
Worst teacher I've had since my algebra 2 teacher in high school. Didnt teach at all, basically had to teach myself and worst of all, has the attitude of a hormonal teenage girl. Hands down, one of the worst teachers on campus, if you really care for your GPA, dont take him.
Professor Krise should not be considered a teacher. He does not teach at all, and expects you to know things you have never even seen before. All you do in class is sit with a group of people and work on word problems with no instruction and definitely no help from him. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. you'll fail.

Where do I start? Let just say that I never heated math like i do now! This teacher does not use a book, likes to people out! If your late its the biggest deal! Oh and those Reports. You have to write essays in math! Yes ESSAY in math! When you ask him for your grade he tells you to average it out! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? DONT TAKE HIM!
Okay now the mymathlab tutorial software has always been a great asset to alot of these VCC math courses. In regards to his class though, not even the mymathlab tutorial software can help you. Reason being, is that he prefers to teach by his own style, for those out there that struggle with math, I would stongly not recomend him.
I never took algebra with him but I took two liberal arts math and got A's on both, I had to study but nothing major. He's a good guy and willing to help, not sure why people bash him so much, he can be very sarcastic but he is super nice, makes jokes and teached well. His tests and hif finals were easy. Take him for mgf1106 or 1107
He's not a bad professor but at the same time he's not great either, some students can adapt to his teaching style and some cant. He prefers to steer away from the repetitive style of math teaching this is why he is not for everyone. He's very impatient and sarcastic if you struggle with math and prefer the repetitive style his class is not for you

Pick another professor. He is one of the only math professors in the school that doesn't have his doctorate in mathematics. He is a sarcastic, narcissistic and stubborn man. The only classroom learning that is accomplished is by group work. Although sometimes, he does come through for you, his attitude and demeanor ruin the class.

Professor Krise's class is hard work, yes, but if you are a dedicated student you will find it is not so bad. Yes, there is group work. But thats all for the better because you can feed off of eachother's ideas and advice. He was funny and truly cared about each and every single one of us. So if you care about your education take his class!!

I can agree with every student who said he was not the best choice to select. If you like snarky and sarcastic teachers-then Scott's class can be entertaining. If not then you should probably avoid it. We use the book quite little (just buy the online book) and if you are confused by something he would gladly help you. The class can be challenging at times though but not enough to tear you apart.
do not take this class, you will spend all of your time in the math lab trying to get help on how to write the math reports and even the math tutors struggle to understand his word problems that are 2 pages long. Going to class is pointless because no one understands what hes teaching and if you ask questions he makes you feel stupid.
One to two page long word problems, doesn't use the book, and is very hard to understand. He doesn't explain things in plain English terms. I honestly didn't learn anything in that class. Some of the tests were group or take home tests. Everyone went to tutoring for help. By far, the worse math teacher I have ever had. He is strict on attendance.

Prof. Krise is an awesome teacher. Given that he teaches in a difficult format (essay type questions)and have you write math essays, you learn college algebra and then some. He inspires your thinking to a whole new level. And he gives you credit for whatever you know. Most difficult class I ever took but had to put in 10 hrs a week studying. Got A
My main issue is having to complete homework before a subject is covered in class. I find myself struggling through a homework assignment due Tuesday (for example) only to have Prof. Krise go over the material in class on Wednesday. It's as if the work done in class and the homework are from two different courses. This is frustrating.
This class has actually made me discouraged in continuing my education. Prof. Krise is sarcastic and rude. His "textbook" is a glorified workbook, which has nothing to do with the homework on MyMathLab. This is the worst class I had ever taken at Valencia. Prof. Krise is brilliant, but a horrible educator.
Prof. Krise is knowledgeable and he tries to give you a deeper understanding of math.If you have a solid foundation in math, take the class , you will learn a lot. If you are like me, and you have forgotten some math concepts, take the class, but review first and get the basics down.Ask questions during class!

I used myself to experience how well I would do on tests. I did better by reading the textbook to teach myself the concepts. His lectures are very unclear. It's no wonder there were so many failures. And he's not funny though he tries to be.

He is very rude in class. This class is hard, but you will learn a lot about Math and the world in general. I felt compelled to review him because this class changed my academic life. I started in pre algebra and I just aced a test in calc because of this class. If you are interested in any sort of math or science degree TAKE THIS CLASS.
Most of the test is based on the homework so if you do the homework the tests are fairly easy. He is pretty funny and nice if you don't get on his bad side. The class overall was fairly easy but you have to keep up with the homework and study before tests.
If youre going into something with a lot of math Id take him. Its not an easy class by any means but youll so much about math and how to do word problems. He is very frank with the class. You will have to do the homework and go to the math lab for help but it is all worth it.
The class isn't easy by any means but he does his job in making sure that you learn the material, and that in and of itself makes him a great teacher. Miss class and your chances of being lost are a lot higher, pay attention in class and do the homework assignments and you'll do fine in his class.
Professor Krise means well and encourage his students to look beyond the stereotypes of college algebra. I passed because I sat there and border-lined memorized his textbook, that he wrote. I suggest another professor but if you can take the hardship then by all means good luck.
Professor Kriser is not helpful at all. He makes you sit with a group and discuss about his book without any help. If I were you I wouldn't take his classes. By the way, I was only able to pass his class with a C because I have a good knowledge in Mathematics.
Professor Krise was not a good professor he was terrible. He acted like he was doing us student a favor by just being in the class room. He was not helpful at all, if you did not understand the work o well. At the start of the semester there were 25 student at the end there were maybe 11 of us left does that tell you something or not.!!

A misunderstood professor it seems. I can honestly say I don't understand why Prof Krise gets so many negative reviews. He is a great man and a great teacher if you are willing to learn. He is a cool guy who really knows his subject. He can be sarcastic but that's just his sense of humor. I love this professor and would take again in a heart beat.
He only has three tests and the second and third one are with your group. All the classwork are in groups which he does not grade. All of his homework is on my math lab. He gives you the test question the class before the test so you can work on it beforehand. Its the same numbers same everything.

I can honestly say Scott is one of, if not, the best instructors I have ever had. Not only do I look up to and respect this man, but I extremely enjoy making conversation with him. He's funny, kind, and is extremely passionate at what he does. I highly recommend him to anyone taking a math course. I love this guy. (And he's a hockey fan) Go Bs!

Horrible! I signed up for College Algebra and it was something else but College Algebra! My dad teaches math in college and I am pretty good at it, but this class was awful! I wish I knew about this website before I signed up for his class!
He has the rules of a high school teacher. only 2 absences, 3rd one will take 25 pts off your grade. if you come late by 5 minutes, he will count you absent. if you take out your cellphone, he will kick you out and count you absent. He seems like he can be nice but it is pretty clear that he hates almost everything about community college kids
Not very helpful but at least he doesn't give out too much homework to do and the only text he requires is cheap. The book he uses is his own which is alright, it's got a lot of interesting problems in it in great detail. However, this course is supposed to prepare you for higher level math courses and his class does not do that. No formal lectures
Never take him for math. He gives different work in class and on his tests than he does at home. It's almost like taking two different types of math classes. He doesn't let you use the bathroom and his face gets all red and angry when you don't understand something.
If you want to learn a concept you have to go on MyMathLab. He refuses to do a lecture, and demands that you should already know the topics in the MML book w/o actually discussing them. Requires that you buy his book but you only do a problem a day with the exception of the math essays he requires. Ive learned everything online and not in class.
He is a great professor he goes over the material in class, gives you lot of examples, and as long as you are doing the homeworks which is optional you will do great!!!
Wrote his own book and its all long essay math problems with no answer key-you have to buy it. 3 math essays. Expects you remember everything you've previously learned about math. 20 mandatory hws on mymathlab. Really challenging so don't take him if you aren't a math enthusiast. Tests are based off material you've taught yourself.
Horrible teacher. If you are not good at math then i would advise you to pick another teacher. Doesn't put grades in till the very last minute, doesn't explain the criteria well at all. Tests are very hard, and never tells you what your exact grade is in the class. Pick another teacher.

Grades very weird and very tough. Only grades are three-four test. I went to maybe only six classes the whole semester. VERY boring and reads out of the textbook. I don't recommend him at all.

This is the man who made math make sense to me. The class isn't hard by any means, he just wants you to really think and apply EVERYTHING you know rather than just calculating numbers. He explains the material in depth and in several different ways so everyone can understand, he just wants to set you up for success. Phenomenal teacher.

Awful. "Professor" Krise spends the majority of class time checking real estate on his computer while the rest of the brave souls that did not withdraw sit in groups and struggle. Chuckles and sighs at some of the students questions. Some tutors cant figure out his word problems. Assigns math essays. Grades unnecessarily tough. Skips office hours.
-.- You have to write papers. Full blown papers in math class. You have to give a detailed explanation of a problem that you don't even know how to solve because he throws you into your work before he even attempts to teach anything. He makes you buy a work book that he wrote himself. It makes no sense. You will most definitely need a tutor.

Please do not take him unless a total math geek and you LOVE math! Hadn't taken math in a while and had to drop his class. Only teaches from his own written work problem book. Very hard to understand and not at all straightforward.
I've only lasted in his class for 2 days. He has a very odd teaching style and clearly he wasn't compatible for me to learn from him. In addition to that, you will have to purchase a book he wrote that he only lectures from in class. You pretty much have to teach yourself the material online to understand what he's talking about in class.
Very frustrating teacher. I took both an elective and the pre req (got A's in both classes) before his College Algebra class. Every class was working in the textbook that he wrote and only working on word problems. We had to learn all the material all online and he would only touch on it if asked. After me, only 5 remained after starting with 18

Idk why people dont like him, hes pretty easy I think, the only thing I dont like is we dont do exercises in class so its kinda boring , attendance doesnt matter but you will miss the lecture, we dont have tests too often and the homework is due at the end of the semester so you have awhile to complete it.

He's actually a bit of a jerk. The environment he created made it so asking questions was terrible and those who actually did ask questions were met with a sigh and an eye roll. None of what he taught made a lot of sense and his "standard 4-point scale" made absolutely no sense when it came down to me trying to figure out my grade on my own.
His grading scale makes no sense. He goes at a very fast pace even though it is a 16 week course. He gave a diagnostics test on the very first day and it counted for a grade. He gets frustrated if u do not know how to do it the first or second time he explains it. He is not fit to teach. Worse professor I have experienced.
He is the worst! Very condensing, rude, and tries to make students feel stupid if they get the question wrong. Don't expect him to elaborate if you need help. Complains about other students. If you need more "help" than others I would not recommend you taking this course. This being said, homework is online and tests are cut and dry.
Worst teacher I have ever had in my whole life. The whole class dropped besides six other students and myself. The textbook is his own personal life's work and you can't question any of the answers. If you want your college algebra credit don't waste your well earned money on this horrible class.
This class isn't difficult at all honestly. His final is literally parts of the only 3 tests we have. The rest of the assignments are super easy group assignments. Sort of boring. But he holds your hand a lot trying to help you at first. I hate algebra but professor Krise actually teaches, at least in my class. He's a safe bet if you aren't lazy.
Stay as far away as you can if Im being really honest. He gave out a diagnostic test before he even told the class his name on the first day. Hes got an overall negative energy and is very condescending, even to good students who make small errors. It was very odd to see someone with a very basic teaching style talk down to hard-working students.

The main thing that bothers me about his class is that he doesnt teach you. You go home with no knowledge on what he wants us to learn needing us to read it out of an online textbook (which isnt that bad). He works us out of his workbook in groups and expects us to know it already. If we get it wrong he does not take the time to explain it.
No extra credit, few homeworks. Class are better than I expected and youve to attend all of them cause he doesnt post anything online ( not your grades and not exams dates). MGF1107 with him is an okay class if you need the credit, he doesnt make it harder than necessary.
As long as you attend to the classes and you do your homework, you will pass. I dont understand those bad reviews of this teacher, I get it, he assign a lot of things but he is a great professor; makes you read, think and open your mind with real life application problems. I got an A easily when I took his Algebra class.

He is that type of professor that makes jokes but no one really laughs. The only grades you get are for test and no matter how much you listen to him speak for the hour and fifteen minutes you have with him things still don't really make sense and the test aren't that similar to the lectures that he gives nor does it seem to tie with the lessons.
Pr. Krise really cares about making sure his students understand his lectures, but he is a little confusing at times. Only 5 tests (one was a take home) and you can miss up to 5 classes without a problem. He's pretty nice, but a little sarcastic at times. A good class to take if you're fairly good at math and just want an easy A.
Professor Krise is decent I suppose. There are parts of his lectures that often do not make a a lot of sense and parts of the tests are often different than his actual lectures. I wouldn't really recommend him unless he is your only option.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS TEACHER!!! Pass or fail determined only on 4 tests(depends on the class you take). You do homework but it doesn't count towards your grade. No chance to get a higher grade then what you get on the test basically. He is rude and doesn't show any care for his students. The material isn't really hard, it's just him. Stay away plz
Hes clear since the beginning about what he expects from his students! He also does care about you understandIng although sometimes he makes you feel dumb! He likes it when you participate but the tests are hard and the 4 tests are pretty much your grade! Make sure you keep up with readings and homework!
I do not recommend this professor. He is not flexible nor wishes to help struggling students improve their grade. He does not do online sessions (skype) or even do videos explaining the material, but rather just puts up the material online for us to do. His rules and deadlines are very confusing, worst teacher I ever had at Valencia.
Whatever you do, do not take this man as your professor for college algebra. I don't even think I learned college algebra in this class because he literally made up whatever he wanted for this class and wrote the book himself. This was the worst professor I have ever had in the entirety of my college experience, if you struggle with math or like to ask questions do not take this professor. I'm pretty good at mathematics but this class was a bit difficult in an online-only setting. The final project was definitely more extensive than I imagined it could be, but I ended with an A in the class and that's all that matters!
Scott Krise does not answer emails, does not care that a student does well on assignments and works to potential. The final test will break your grade. He doesn't communicate with or support students and will Gordon Rule you with a 69% even when you have given the course your very best for an entire term.
He did not answer any emails. We would have homework every other day and a quiz every single week. They would also be due at random times during the day. Some would be due at 2:36pm and others at 1:48am. It was just overall annoying how to him "teaching" was a joke while our literal degree was in his hands. Would not recommend him at all.
Professor Krise has a unique teaching style that can be hit or miss. The tests don't always align with the lectures, and attendance is mandatory. Unstuck study AI was a lifesaver for test prep - much more helpful than the textbook.
This was a very chill (mixed mode) class, the professor's grading is not tough whatsoever and as long as you do the assignments on Canvas and Pearson, you will get an A. He gives his students a lot of time to turn in their work and can make exceptions for you depending on your situation.
This class was one of the easiest math classes, gives you a week after its due to get it in with no late penalties. Most of the work is through pearson but it makes it easier to understand content with the help provided to you, im not math savvy and did great in this class. highly recommend him.

Only take this class if you are part time. This class had more work than my other three classes combined. there is way too many tests/quizzes PLUS a project in one week. He does respond quickly to emails and the assignments aren't too difficult.
Most of the class was done through pearson so it was pretty easy. it is a TON of work though if you can handle it. He never took off points for late assignments it was just a pretty large workload,but overall super easy
