Funny, intelligent, interesting perspectives, will teach you a lot.
One of the best instructors on campus. Very helpful and a funny guy.
rambles early but stick with it. you will learn a lot in his class. smart dude - makes abstract concepts seem funny.
Horrible teacher. Very difficult to understand. Rambles. Made me hate being a Polisci major.
Exams were difficult but I learned a lot. He gave 3 options for the final which was nice. The readings were a lot of work, but it paid off. Take good notes!
Alright teacher, beware. He hates Republicans and will lash out publically in class. Then again all the universities are run by these biased clowns anyway. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Very forgetable class.

Mcdougall is a nice person. i like the way he views the world, very humorous but realisitic! His exam questions are so difficult. But over all he's a good teacher and i recommend him if you want to learn!
If you are vocal in class and do most of the work, he will give you a C, no prob. Interesting fellow.
Lots of DVC teachers are politically biased but not this one. Some of his lecturing idiosyncracies got on my nerves a little bit, but generally he is a very entertaining, informative lecturer.
Very interesting teacher, talks a lot, funny guy may get off topic at times but enjoyed class greatly, best polysci teacher i had. No homework at all except reading and studying for tests which are pretty hard. Energentic teacher, will keep you awake and involved in class. Put in some work and he will give you a "C" without a doubt.
MacDougal will grade you like you're going to Berkeley. Don't expect an easy grade in this class. He's a wonderful teacher though. Very enlightening and amusing. Encourages class discussion and participation. I think a great teacher for any polisci major.

one of the best teachers i have had
The Cream of the Crop my friends... one of DVC's best gems. He cares so much for his students... after I moved beyond DVC Scott became a very good friend of mine. If you put time into his subject, show interest and are motivated, you will learn more abou
Took him on a recommendation. Mostly met expectations. Definitely made classes interesting but is an extremely tough grader, and not really fair. Having shown another poly sci prof an exam I wrote, the prof would have given me a much higher grade. But no grudges here. I've graduated law school and moved on. Unfortunately, it seems like he is still "Berkeley" tough. I still recommend though for an educational experience if you don't mind a grade you don't deserve.
He is always willing to help and even look over your work before you hand it in for a grade. The lectures are VERY clear, enough so that a nine-year-old could understand them. He is a tough grader but it really prepares you for your 4-years university
extremely funny guy. if you close your eyes he sounds like Adam Corola from the Man Show. very interesting class and is taught well. i remembered things by the jokes he would tell about it. i highly recomend if you are interested in polotics or at least learning about the Constitution
great lecture, very well informed
I had him for two semesters and got A's both times. Difficult grader, nitpicky and not very forgiving, expects a lot, but is very fair. If you don't care about the material, you'll bomb the class and get little out of it, but if you go in trying to learn, his classes are among the very best. Knows what he's talking about and knows how to teach.
has a great sense of humor which is really helpful for those not interested in govt. not hard to keep up, but you need to study for the tests! wording on tests can be tricky. teaches closely to the book. 1 paper, 3 quizzes, 1 written exam and the final is comprehensive but he lets you keep the tests. easiest fnal EVER. recommended for anyone.
He doesn't care if you're in class or not, but make sure you read the book and don't miss the tests. The questions are taken directly from the book, and then there's an essay question from his lectures. Scott himself is a really great guy who kept me awake with his funny analogies on a topic that isn't my favourite.
Great teacher, great guy. The tests have multiple choice questions from the book, and an essay portion from the lectures. He doesn't care if you're there or not, but it's important to read for the tests.
He does not care if you ever attend class, that is true. But his lectures are very good, and the tests are fairly easy....they are only common sense. He is objective, but perhaps a little too much so. It was a positive experience in his class. He is very knowledgable, but does not seem to care much about his students. Only negative.
An extremely smart and witty professor. His lectures have little to do with the book but he still encourages you to read. However, you can get away with just taking really good notes and studying them. He's very fair: grading, student comments, etc. I really enjoyed his lectures!
Mr. MacDougal is a great teacher. He really knows his stuff and keeps things interesting. His classes aren't easy but you'll learn a lot for sure. HIGHLY reccommend for PoliSci majors.
Scott is a really funny guy, and he knows his stuff. However, I'm a student that goes to class, and gets most of the teaching from lectures. Scott's lectures get really boring, and completely off topic. And the tests are pretty hard, and he doesn't really stay on schedule. If you want to get an easy grade, take someone else.
what a wingbat! avoid this prof. he is not only extremely strange, but his lectures do not make any sense or have any relativity. he constantly goes off on tangents, and tangents off of those tangents, and doesn't get back to the original topic of discussion until an hour later. take a different poly sci class if you can.
Horrible teacher. We didn't even finish HALF of the course syllabus by the end of the semester! He gets so off topic and will not stop talking. He is a TOUGH GRADER! I am a straight A student and I am struggling in his class. DON'T TAKE HIM!
Excellent Proffesor! A Berkeley Graduate! It can't get any better than that. I took two semesters with him and I learned alot. I was challenged in these classes, but I got A's in both classes. I think anyone who can't handle his classes are showing that they can't meet up to the UC system, especially Berkeley. I highly Recommend for POLSC majors.
If you have any difficulty following "lectures" that constantly drift and go off topic, then I would avoid this class! Half of the lecture time is taken up by his "class discussion" which mostly was the Iraq war and interferred with our studies. He took up so much time spewing out his opinions that we had to skip an entire section of the course!
Great professor. Had him last semester for intro to polysci, taking him again this semster for Comparitive Politics. Attendence not required. Grading is nice, it's on a curve, etc. Interesting lectures, indeed, he does go off on tangents, but whatever. Textbook isn't really used. Last semester I didn't read it once or take much notes and I got an A
Well, the guy below me is in for a rude awakening once he attends MacDougall's 220 class. 120 and 121 are the easiest at DVC and are usually graded on a curve. The higher numbers - not so easy, and having an instructor like MacDougall makes it worse. This guy can't stay on topic and wastes lecture time which is important for advanced courses. AVOID
He is a riot to listen to in class and his "drawings" are enough to keep anyone entertained. He really goes over everything you need to know for test in class, so if you pay attention its an easy A. The test are multiple choice with a essay, really easy. over all a very good teacher.
Not sure what all the hype about his class was all about. Focuses too much on HIS opinions. I learned nothing in his class and I'm a Pol Sci major. Easy A if you are good at BSing and keep your opinions to yourself. If you want to learn something take someone else and avoid this yuppie.
Easy class. Graded on the curve. Attendance important to getting good grade. Teacher is great. Took summer class, was a breeze.
The class is really easy, he grades on a curve. You should attend class to be ready for the essay questions, but read the book for the multiple choice. He goes off topic quite a bit and likes students to participate. It gets boring annoying after a while, but overall it was a pretty good class
Although I love political science, I did not enjoy Macdougall as the teacher for this class. He 1) would not let students talk or make points and 2) inserts his opinions HEAVILY into lecture and does not give opposing sides. If you have a choice, take International Relations with Kropf. If you take this class, read the book CAREFULLY!!!!
While it is true he goes off topic in lecture, you still learn plenty from him and get a basic understanding of comparative politics. He's also got a cool sense of humor. Take his class.
Lecture outline= 1.Takes Random Questions 2.Lectures- listen cus it will mostly be on test, especially if written. I recommend taking notes even if nobody else does, if not then read the book. Sarcastic but NOT rude. Respecful. Funny. Critiques both parties. Tests=multiple choice+short answer. Grades on curve! Willing to help during office hours.
Great! Took his 121 class. Grades based on 5 quizzes and a final. Important to be in class. Takes notes. He'll give you his study guide if you go to him with yours, which helps a ton. Really funny guy, saracastic and he's a hoot in class. He's pretty clear on his material. Good class if you're prepared to do a little studying, I recommend it.
Macdougall ROCKS!!He is definitely a great Politics professor! He uses cute words too! However if you do not want to read the textbook you will fail the test b/c he does not give lecture from books but the quizzes are always from the book.So make sure you study hard !Take Macdougall!Take him!
You're not required to come to class but you should. Tests are all based on the book and they include an essay question which you'd be able to explain well if you listened to the discussions. I liked his way of teaching, it was enjoyable to listen to. I'd take his classes again.
Great teacher ! Enjoyed his classes so much but it is true that if you want to get a good grade in his class you have to do the reading.Extremely funny/entertaining!
A very wise and funny teacher with great knowledge about U.S.Government and politics. Took him during Summer'12. The class, for me, was moderate and a bit boring sometimes. His lectures were still pretty interesting though.Attendance is mandatory to do well. Overall,it was a good class, despite the fact that U.S. Government is not my thing.
pay attention in class, and its an easy course.....good guy, lectures are fun and interesting..
Great teacher! I really enjoyed his class, it is a very large class but he is great. He is very funny and makes up funny words to help you understand! HE is awesome at drawing. He is very smart, but somewhat cynical. I recommend him if you like politics. Tests can be hard but not if you pay attention in class.
At this point, I've taken his classes for 3 semesters. Great teacher, definitely knows what he's talking about. Attendance is not mandatory, but you should attend because the discussions will help you in the essay part of the tests. At least some knowledge in current affairs will definitely help you out.
this was the first college class i took during fall 2011. this was legit my favorite professor to date! he taught/acted the same way as my fav high school teacher. you'll love this class
Funny, interesting professor. However, he grades on an average of 4 tests and nothing else. Tests are standardized, with hardly any of the material covered in class on them. He will often go on rants and raves against various political positions which have nothing to do with the class or tests. He is funny, though, and quite entertaining.
Fantastic professor. If you are willing to participate in class discussion, a lot can be learned. While he does share his own opinions, he does not present them as facts. Very few assignments/tests, so if that style works for you then this would be a great class to take. WARNING: tested mostly on reading material, so reading is recommended.
Very enthusiastic professor who enjoys his job, but can be EXTREMELY off topic a lot of the time. Stick to the reading and you'll score fine. Took him for summer school and he's great with those who participate, but if you don't, well, you're on your own.
Great lecturer. Offered no breaks and repeatedly kept the class overtime. However, he knows his stuff/is very passionate. The tests varied in complexity. Must read the book. Curved the 3 tests. The final was cumulative, but based on previous tests. That's all graded on. No homework! Took this class for fun & came out knowledgeable about Am Govt.
For his Comparitive politics class you have a writing packet that is due at the end of semester. KEEP UP WITH IT you cannot finish it in one night. As for Gov its literally lecture and 4 tests, he lets you keep the questions because those exact ones are on the final. If you get all of them right itll basically boost you up a letter.
Professor MacDougall was an awesome political science teacher. He is funny and always uses absurd examples that we can all relate to! Many of his discussions start off slow, he takes his time to make sure his students understand. His quizzes and exams were difficult, but he grades on effort. He is also the head of his department..cool!
I have read a lot of comments saying that the comparative politics class is hard! All I have to say is ""READ,READ,READ". I put a lot of effort into this class and did research on my own for the essay. Eventually, I was at the top of the class! And now I am in UC Berkeley majoring in Political Science. So, work hard and you will get an A!
Three exams and two portfolio packets. Teaches based on his own beliefs. Uses powerpoint presentations. Also he believes that it's impossible for a student to earn full credit on assignments because no one is perfect, therefore his grading system is confusing. I did not like him as a person, RUDE. Definitely not inspirational or exciting.
MacDougall's U.S. Government class is the epitome of public school indoctrination. I wish he would have taught this course from a neutral perspective rather than a highly liberal, democratic one. I got a D on every test, but still got an A in the class My class size was about 80 people, and he doesn't take attendance. No homework either.
One of the best professors I have ever had. Took his Poly Sci 121 course over summer & loved him. Really funny, & comes to class every day with a genuine passion for politics & teaching. Never cared for politics at all but after his class he gave me a whole new perspective. Phenomenal lecturer, have to read book & go to class. Got an A. Take him!
He was a supper good teacher. This class was very interesting and he did a really good job of explaining concepts and making them easier to understand. It was a great class and I recommend taking it from Mr. MacDougall.
McDougall's abstract teaching style isn't for everyone. He puts up a few bullet points and explain in extreme detail so we only got through 3/8 chapters. Ex: he only discussed the definition of political science for the 1st month of school. also he gets distracted easily so be prepared for constant story time.
Not an inspirational teacher. Expect story time as he tries to tie it back into comparative politics. I'm a political science major and as sad as it is to say, i'm losing interest in the subject because of him. He comes off as arrogant and rude. Expect to read, a lot. His exams/quizzes are based on readings, and very little material from lecture.
The worst class in my community college life. He didn't give any guideline for the tests. His ppts are entirely different from the tests. The tests were horribly hard to get an A and coming from textbooks. Please, do not take his course. Tons of readings, Tough exams, Insane portfolios made me crazy. Again, please, do not take his Polsc 220.
I took him for polisci 220: comparative politics. While his exams are extremely difficult, his lectures are amazing and he's a really, knowledgeable funny guy. Be sure to keep up with your portfolios because it cannot be finished in one night. Most of exam questions are from the readings while the essay portion is based on his lectures.
Comes off as arrogant. Tells stories to explain concepts like we're little kids. Spent 8 weeks explaining the difference between traditional &modern societies, so we only compared 3 countries thoroughly, 5 total (out of 9). The final is super hard, but manageable. Grades on final, midterm, and portfolio. Avoid him at all costs, its a waste of time
I transferred from DVC 10 years ago and after completing undergrad, I received a graduate degree. Came across an old textbook from this class and I needed to but a comment. This man was the best prof I ever had.
MacDougall is awesome, I don't care for the revel book as I would much rather write essays and receive input directly from professor. I will say the online book makes the class VERY easy. Lectures are rad and while he may sku from actual content the tangents are arguably more interesting. Would deffinetly recommend if you're a cynic!
Because of his class, I decided to change my polsc major and dropped with a W. Please avoid him, unless you are trying to figure out you want to go with pol sic major or not.
Only gave two tests and two portfolios, and then the final. His class is mostly discussion, with very few concrete concepts, and he doesn't go over much material but expects you to know everything for tests - which he doesn't give study guides out far. Run. Fast. I wish i did. Nice guy though, knows a lot about the world. Horribly organized class.
He's a nice guy, really. But as a political science major, I found this class a waste of time. Didn't learn much at all. Poor grading criteria. Lectures are irrelevant to the tests, they're strictly on the book, which is never used in class. Boring lectures. Lot's of rhetorical questions. It's very vague as to what he expects as answers on tests.
I could write an entire paper on why this man should not be an educator. Let me start by saying that he spent 45+ minutes one class attempting to persuade his students to take out $10k loans to study abroad. It was a complete waste of my time and absolutely terrible advice to give to a school full of lower-income students.
In my opinion, Professor Macdougall gave great lectures. While they are anecdotal and extremely simplified, certain concepts that otherwise would've been lost on me became a lot more clear. His exams are pretty tough, as the multiple choice section is just questions on the book. However, his essays are simple enough if you attend class.
Terrible method to grade, lack of organization, didn't give u an outline to study for the test which it's terrible. He's nice as a person, but his teaching method is not easy to follow. Don't take him if you care about your GPA.
Just don't take this guy. A guy in my class showed up only on test days and I came regularly. We both got the same grade. His grading is terrible as he does not give study outlines/guides. You could not show up for weeks and still get a B. If you HAVE to take him, do not focus on PPT's in class, only briefly. Focus more on the readings/concepts.
Prepare for endless multi layered stories and metaphors to explain simple concepts, which he then needs to simplify to circle back to the main point 20 minutes later. He's constantly asking rhetorically questions which just results in wasted time. Lots of reading but it's interesting content. Pay more attention to the book than his lectures.
Lectures do matter! It sounds like he's just rambling, but in reality he'll help explain and give really good examples that will help you on the test. Also read the textbook and take lots of notes. Basically you'll have a lot of information to soak up. I took this class in the summer and still passed with a B+.
One of the best professors I've had so far. Took this class during the summer and the outline was very specific and he stuck to it. Good lecturer a little much for a two hour class though.
Professor Macdougall is really nice and he knows what hes talking about. The issue I had with this class is that he lectures, but all of the tests are based on reading. Why lecture about something different than the reading of it wont be on your test?
MacDougall is a super chill dude. He's funny, opinionated and knows a ton about polisci. I think of lectures as a chance to have a conversation with him and the class. And yeah, the test material is largely from the textbooks. That's college! So I'd recommend him for polisci majors or people who really like the subject, but otherwise maybe not.
Pretty easy teacher. His tests are very much based off of Revel and Lectures. Final is a collaboration of all of the previous tests we had taken which he lets you hold on to. Nice guy, just be ware that the dates for quizzes and tests on his slides normally aren't correct...
Solid teacher, I did not think I would do well in a poli-sci class but he made me really enjoy learning. Quizzes to him are exams for us, do the reading and you're good to go. Very good Professor and very helpful to use his office hours. I only used office hours once but I could have gotten an A had I gone more frequently.
easiest class ive ever taken. Only showed up for quizzes and final and passed with an A. His lectures are extremely wordy and for the most part boring if you arent super in to politics like myself but. Went to the first two lectures and tapped out and stuck to reading the book. Also he gives quizzes at the end so you can show up late if you want.
We spent the first two months learning that Western peoples are all advanced or "modern" and that non-Western peoples are all primitive or "traditional." Not sure where this information came from because it was presented only in lecture, not in any readings. We spent the latter half of the course focusing on actual material, which was nice.
This class was entertaining, and I love MacDougall. But trying to take his class is hard. The first test came around and I literally had ZERO idea as to what was on it, as we never covered a majority of answers in class. And there is only 2 tests, so good luck trying to recover. If you haven't taken all the other polysci's, save your GPA and wait.
Nice dude. He spends all of lecture talking about characteristics of society but nothing of comparitive politics. Tests are based solely on the reading from the book. He had no time management skills so we only ended up covering three chapters. Interesting person and enjoyable lectures but didn't really teach anything valuable from the course.
Scott is a nice guy, but his teaching and management are pretty poor. We spent almost 4 weeks on 1 presentation that had little to do with the actual tests. Reading the textbook is mandatory as without it, you will not understand the test. He understands that his grading is hard, so he curves the class grade according to the average of the class.
Mr. MacDougall loves to lecture and give stories and examples of world situations and political issues that can drone on and on. But most of the time his lectures are interesting, his tests are a little difficult but not too bad, also you have to write a paper at the end of class where the outline and grading on it are not explained at all.
Super long lectures with lots of stories in the middle but if you can stay awake through it and take notes, then he will make a lot of sense.
Easy A. He's a very funny professor with great stories but attending his lectures is a complete waste of time since you don't learn anything. You're best off just reading the online text showing up on test/quiz days. His grade breakdown is 4 quizzes (40-60 q's and short answer), easy online textbook quizzes, and a final exam.
Makes politics very interesting
It wasn't too bad. He curves the class so no need to worry about grades. Just attend lectures.
If you're like me and don't know a thing about politics (and are taking the class just for credit), take MacDougall. Your grade will pretty much be comprised of two things: online textbook quizzes and in class tests (ALL based on the textbook), so attendance isn't necessary. But he's an engaging lecturer and knows his stuff, so it's worth going.
I've taken more than one of Professor MacDougall's classes, and it was always my favorite part of the day. Not since School House rocks, has political science been so easy and fun to understand. MacDougall has a deep understanding of so many things and a great way to explain them. He is also very generous with his time. Would recommend!
I found this class to be interesting, He is a good professor, he just digresses a lot during his lectures. But there are times he will tie it in in ways that help retain the information. I would take him again. He uses revel for quizzes and book assignments. He creates awesome online lectures that are focused on the material and gives ampule time.
We did not learn anything related to the class. Do not take him if you want to learn the material. Hard to get a good grade. Lots of unnecessary stories that are barely related. He does not listen to you or your comment. The exams are only based on the textbook and not on the "lecture"
This professor is extremely knowledgeable about anything that ever happened in national or international politics. He's never afraid to share his two cents and will always discuss with the class and relate it to what he is talking about. The reading is light, the lectures are good, and he gives great constructive feedback. Excellent professor.
His lectures are all over the place, it is hard to follow and get the main idea sometimes. When we switched over to online learning due to covid, his lectures got better. Lectures are unrelated to the textbook reading, which is intended. Good class if you want to learn basics and nothing too in depth. I would not recommend if your're a polsci major
Online Class: You're gonna pay $80 dollars Pearson so he can pull your grade from there. Apart from that, you get to do a few "responses" which he grades pretty harshly for someone who didn't give ONE lecture. If you want to LEARN the material, find someone else. His harsh grading ruined my GPA.
This professor provided lectures on canvas that were pretty good. All the homework is done through pearson where you read the textbook, answer journal responses, and take quizzes. You also do discussion posts, portfolios on the lectures, and take quizzes on canvas. You have less than 30 sec per question so quizzes are hard. He grades pretty tough
Boring lectures are posted online that I didn't find necessary to watch. Discussion posts are graded oddly hard for such a not present prof. Pearson is a large part of your grade. Four units, four tests, one final, four discussion posts. An easy class to succeed in but not much is learned.
I took Profesor MacDougal's intro to political science class and found it relatively easy. All of the course work is done through Pearson and is pretty straight forward. I read the other reviews on this site about his lectures and can agree you won't be tested on them. Tests are the only hard part as he gives less than 30 seconds per question.
Easily worst/laziest prof ive had at dvc!!! Not an easy a and you will not receive any feedback on assignments. Less than 40 seconds on quiz questions. Reserves 100% for exceptional work. Most of the grade is taken from REVEL ($80) and discussion posts that are almost pointless. If you want to learn something, dont take this class.
Grades very hard with little feedback. Talks very monotone so you dont want to listen. Course work is all over the place. Lots of work for a 3 credit class.
Great recorded lectures give a richness to the topics. Fair amount of work. Submit summaries for a few of the lectures in each module, but you get to choose which ones. The other homework and quizzes are online through the book's publisher. All the answers come straight from the text. The final is essays. He includes a hefty curve at the end.
His outdated recorded lectures have nothing to do with what we read in the textbook. The quizzes are ridiculously hard and you have about 30 seconds to answer each one. You read all this convoluted information then get tested on it without any study guide. This class is a ton of work and you will not learn anything.
Do not take classes with this professor if you have any interest in learning. The professor is not only lazy, but also lack the knowledge to teach comparative politics well. His videos are outdated and unrelated to the textbook. His quizzes only allow students 30 seconds per question. DO NOT TAKE if you are a political science major.
By far one of the worst professors I've ever had. His videos are unrelated to the textbook and monthly projects. In addition he rarely provides useful feedback after for tough grading. Provides 30 seconds to answer questions on quizzes. Lastly, there is clear personal bias in throughout the lectures. DO NOT take if you are a polisci major.
Professor MacDougall is a decent professor. My class was hybrid, with in-person lectures, and online work. His in person lectures are much better than his online ones. He grades somewhat harshly, I never once received full credit for my work, although he curves the class at the end of the semester. His entire class is very textbook oriented.
By far the hardest professor I have had during the pandemic. I never got a 100% on any assignment with him. Gives limited amount of time for quizzes, one quiz was 30 questions with only 20 minutes to complete. If it weren't for my accommodations, I would not have been able to complete tests. The final had no rubric, no max or minimum page count.
Getting an "A" in this class is very possible, you just have to work hard for it. This means emailing him and talking to him outside of the classroom. He is very accessible outside the class and if you show effort it will pay off. It is also curved.
Used lectures recorded from 2020 and reposts the same assignments every year. ZERO outline and rubric for written assignments. 30 seconds per question on quizzes and when you email with a question, he doesn't answer your question at all, and sounds like an automated response. Heavy grader and extremely hard to get a good grade in his class.
Do not take this class if you would like to receive an A without putting in an unfathomable amount of time and effort. This professor grades extremely harshly and gives very little time to finish tests, as someone else mentioned about only 30 seconds per question. It is a 3 credit and it is much harder than it should be.
I have taken MacDougall for two semesters, online and an in person class. DO IN PERSON. Great teacher with good lectures in person. Tough grader but his class is curved. Put thought into discussions and you will do well!
Grades assignments harshly and does not give constructive criticism.
His teaching is VERY personified with storytelling. Unit one consists of 9.5 hours of lecture. All of the ideas expressed are incredibly simple and 90% of the lectures detail very particular and disconnected examples. I feel unequipped after watching 9h of lecture. Vids recorded 4y ago and adapted from MacDougall's Berkeley instructor 40 years ago.
Professor MacDougall's class is engaging, with storytelling lectures. Studying the textbook and using tools like unstuck AI for prep are key to success. Grading is fair, with a helpful curve.
If you ever wonder why people say that colleges are "socialist indoctrination camps", well... he is the prime example. Lectures aren't useful as everything was taken out of the book. He often went on Trump Derangement Syndrom rants for half the class. The only good thing about the class was that his political bias did not affect class grading.
This professor treats his class like an indoctrination camp. He didn't teach us anything , instead went on long rants every class about how he hates Donald Trump. He also calls a lot of people “Facist” but when i asked him in class what that word meant, he couldn't tell me. Every exam is extremely hard and based off material i've never seen/heard.
Great Professor, helped me understand Political Science in a way I hadn't before. Grading is clear if you ask him what his criteria are, and it definitely takes some work and creativity on the student's part to pull an A in his class. Textbook heavy, but the textbooks are good and should absolutely be followed by in-person discussion/clarification.
Professor MacDougall is very passionate about his studies! There was a lot of material and knowledge to be gained from his course and his lectures were great I like how he incorporated humor into them. He goes over questions before tests and is very helpful if you ask for it. You can tell he really does care for his students
