He may seem like a dork at first, but he's a very funny professor. He likes the material he teaches, we even had 2 days of rock&roll lyrics. Go everyday, you'll be out in about 30mins; papers are easy.

Well spoken and easy to follow. He is very good about bring dry stories to life to allow the students to understand. Batman, and Choke are not hard to follow, but if you are not an out there character like Him he presents it in a way where even a slow person could understand.

Easy teacher, sometimes doesn't think about what he says before he says it. Can be rude at times. But all in all a very honest teacher I would recommend him based on material and how easy he is.

TAKE THIS TEACHER! Easier grader I have ever had and a great all around guy. Only have to do VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF WORK. Class was fun. We watched skits from Kids in The Hall and listened to music.

Love this class, Scott is a great man...he's a nerd, but that's okay he knows it! If you're into Star Wars and comics then you will be right at home in this class! He likes to explain things maybe a little to much, but at least he's percise.

This guy is AWESOME...he made english my favorite class. Hes a bit of a star wars nerd but will talk with you about almost anything for long periods of time..take his class, papers are easy. has an attendance policy but you will look forward to each class so its not an issue.

I love the freewrite sessions. He is also very good at using illustrations to make a point. i. e. the jerry seinfeld book.

I love that he teaches subject matter that is appealing to his students, and how he presents the subject matter that maybe isn't so interesting. Friendly, interesting, and awfully good-looking, too.

Goes over all the stories, you must go to the class in order to do well. Also, we read a batman comic and watch Fight Club....enough said. GREAT CLASS!!!

He makes total dorkness seem cool. If he spent as much energy on the other reading material that he spends on Batman, it would be a lot more educational. He gives you like ten million chances to turn your stuff in, so if you dont make a decent grade in his class, that means your worthless. Good teacher to have if your lazy.

Awesome guy, I could easily mistake him for another student. Very laid back, and easy to get along with. Plus he likes Star Wars and doesn't let any of his students forget it... which is pretty sweet. The topics for his papers were basically a free-for-all, so you can write about whatever you want. Take him for an enjoyable English class!

He is too opinionated, and if you do not agree with his opinion then you are wrong. He shares too many of his political views which is not appropriate for english class.

He's a AWSOME teacher! I would really recoment taking him. I've never been strong in english, but hes very helpful, and he makes you want to get up and actually go to class. He makes it very fun and intresting he doesnt just teach you about verbs and adverbs and what not he applies it by using fun stuff like films, comics etc. Def. Take him!!!

He is a great professor. He's really funny, and he is super chill. Just go to class, and follow the direstions when you need to write a paper, and you'll get an A. That's it. The only reason I wrote this is because I know he reads his ratings on this website, and I guess this is my way of saying thanks for an easy, fun, interesting class.

He is definitely one of my favorite professors at Radford. He's very chill and appreciates good quality humor. Rather unorthodox reading material is required for the class, which made it more interesting. Loved the class, and if you appreciate Star Wars all the better!

Imagine Dr. John Dorian from Scrubs the seasons where he taught interns. Then imagine a JD that was loved Star Wars and Bruce Springsteen. Yep. That is Mr. McDarmont for ya. This guy made his lectures interesting by using pop culture and unorthodox reading; I loved every class period of it. It was grand.

McDarmont was a great teacher. He gives us a lot of papers to write, but most of them are reflections of the book we have to read. He's a huge nerd but he's a comedian so it's awesome. Definitely recommend!

Class was extremely easy. Had a lot of papers but he was an easy grader! Got A's on every paper turned in. Extra credit if you go to the LARC! Highly recommend if you still need to take core!

Scott McDarmont is amazing! I had him for a evening class & thought it would suck because it was later in the day but it turns out the class was lot of fun! Really easy as long as you keep up with the assignments you can pretty much get an A. Plus his reading choices are pretty interesting. Take him if you get a chance to!

I had him last semester for Core 101 and he was really cool. You write a lot of papers but he is a very easy grader as long as you follow directions. I really recommend him.

Best core teacher I've ever had. Most people take core and then never show up, which is why they have a failing grade. Although he has an attendance policy, it's not really a big deal. The class is super easy and interesting because we aren't talking about boring things. Super funny and helpful

If you can write in English you can pass his class. One class he let us go 35 minutes early but let us stay to watch the Chapelle show if we wanted to. He also helped me out with a class that wasn't even his during office hours. He's a stand-up comedian so he's pretty funny and likes showing comedy stuff in class.

Mr. McDarmont can annoy me some mornings since he likes to yell if someone doesn't know how to do correct references and calls people out. But besides that, he is a damn good teacher. I have never learned anything in Core until taking this class, this man actually cares about giving people the education they deserve. Other core classes are jokes.

I had him for Honors 201, and Professor McDarmont is pretty cool. He's a bit of a nerd, but he's really approachable and friendly to the students. There were a few writing assignments, but the work wasn't bad. He gives good feedback, and is a really easy grader. You should make a good grade, but he does actually know what he's talking about
