He doesn't give weekend homework, and the rest of it...which isn't much...is due on Thursdays. As long as you come to class, do your homework, and pay attention, it's super easy!

He was the best teacher I've pretty much ever had. He wouldn't move on unless he knew you had it down, and was very helpful outside of class too. If I could I'd have him as my math teacher in every level.

i hate math,but i loved this class.mr m doesnt move on until everyone gets it.the only way you do bad in this class is if:you dont attend.you miss tests.or u just dont want to listen like one of these ppl on this page..he is the best math teacher ive ever had in my life..i actually understand soo much better now..he is amazing

Great teacher.Math has always been a really difficult subject for me and Mr. M helped me a lot in understanding the material better. He doesn't give much homework, but he does notes everyday.He goes over the material until everybody understands it, and he likes when people ask questions.

Great teacher, takes a little while to get use to him but he knows the material inside out. He is also a very nice guy and gives a lot of jokes.

He is SO SO great the best teacher ever and I don't know what the people are talking about when they said he doesn't help and makes you feel stupied because he never did that to anyone in my class. Very good teacher! He knows what he is talking about and wants you to do well! He will help you if you need any help! I learned so much from him! You can't use a calculator, but its easy anyways! The homework is due at the end of the week and you don't use the textbook much! Take him if you can because you will learn soo much!!

Clear teacher, he makes semi-difficult concepts easy to understand. He makes jokes/is funny. If you care about the course he'll really help you. Otherwise...:P

Mr Murphy was a great teacher! He was very helpful and explain math very well. He also allows you to see him in his office for extra help if you need it and as long as you work hard he is willing to work with you. BEST math teacher Ive ever had. :)

LOVE LOVE LOvE HIM! He isn't easy, but if you want help, he is there for ya. If you dont care about his class, he doesnt care to help. I hunted him down for many office hours, and I got through it. He will tease you if you get confused, but it is in a way yo will remember if you go to make the same mistake again. TAKE HIM!

He is really helpful if you care to learn the material. If you don't show up to class or show any interest, then he will make sure that you are not invited to take the State Exit Exam. The only problem I had with him was how he teased his students when they were confused or said a wrong answer. He needs to work on his criticism.

Such an incredible teacher! I hated the fact that I was in a "remedial" math course, but honestly taking him before the harder maths was the best thing I'd ever done. I understand so much&he was always so helpful&understanding. Trust me, take his class & you won't regret it at all. One of the best math professors at Santa Fe by far...

Considering I had been out of school for 20 some odd years, Scott was extremely helpful and was always willing to see me after class to help in what ever area I needed help with. However, He leaves it up to you, If you want to pass his class you better show up for class, do your homework, and take your tests seriously! Great Teacher in my opinion!

By far one of the BEST math teachers at santa fe ! i couldnt have asked for a better math teacher who is willing to help you to pass. you just need to be serious and actually ask for help its not just going to fall in ur lap. but overall this class was easy. just do the homework review your notes and you will pass!

He is awesome! I have never understood math until I took his class. He is one of the best math teachers Santa Fe has. He really cares about his students, and is always willing to help you if you need it. His tests are exacly what he goes over. I highly recommend him!

Mr. Murphy is an awesome teacher. His explanations really helped me get an A in his class. If you attend, pay attention, do the worksheets (even those not assigned) you will do well. I wish he taught all my math classes. We never used the book, seemed a waste to purchase. I would recommend him to those who consider themselves "aural" learners.

Mr. Murphy is an exceptional teacher. Not only does he really know what he's doing and know how to explain it well, he is also humorous and that makes his class environment feel light and comfortable. Never did I see or hear him call someone out as many math teachers often do. I would definitely recommend him, one of my favorite professors thus far

Mr. Murphy is an awesome teacher. Easy to understand and very straight forward when explaining problems. Has his own sense of humor and does not tolerate ignorance. Show up to class for free points towards your final grade. He gives you a nice foundation for future math courses.

Murphy is a great teacher all the other comments on her about him being hard or him picking on people is not true. IF you show up and are not prepared or feeling like this class owes you something YOU WILL fail, and he will make mention of this to you. Just take the class day by day and he is always around to help if you need it.

Math is not my thing, but he made things very easy to understand. The best math teacher I have ever had, he always was willing to help you and joke around. Class always got out early, yet we accomplished A LOT. We always did a lot of practice problems together, so when you do the homework everything is really easy. I highly suggest him!!

This is honestly the greatest math teacher on campus. He has a sense of humor and he is always there to help you. He always stays on topic and his lectures are crystal clear.

I'm a math person, so the subject matter was really easy. It helped that he goes over the reasoning behind what we are doing, and then follows it with numerous examples. plus, our test questions are very similar to the examples done in class. really nice and sometimes funny. if i could take him for MAC1114, I would.

When asking for help, he'd sometimes give answers to students that make them look dumb in front of the class so it would hinder some of the students from asking questions since they didn't want to be given an answer as if it were obvious to everyone else. He does help when you need it though. Good teacher but can come off as rude sometimes.

Murphy is a great teacher of a subject that is not easy for me. He is simultaneously laid-back and very strict. I really appreciated his teaching style, he taught in a way that I fully understood the material.

He's one of those professors that likes to get to the point. Doesn't assign busy work. Prepare for a streamlined experience as to what he'll expect you to know on tests. He was my professor for two math classes and quite honestly, I think he's good at what he does. Fully recommended.

Professor Murphy is strict on due dates and it is a slow paced class at first, then you fly right through it.

I had been out of school for close to 10 years. Needless to say, my math was pretty rusty. Mr. Murphy was the best math teacher I ever had. He explains things in real life terms and is very accessible outside of class. I still see him about the math class that I'm currently in and he takes time to help me.

Mr. Murphy is not your average professor. He is very laid back. If you put in the work and ask questions when confused- you will receive an A.

Great teacher! Clear in his lessons and helps you obtain a strong foundation in Math, if you hadn't before. Math isn't my strong suit but with him as my teacher, I got an A! Highly Recommend.

Professor Murphy is a great math professor. A lot of students in my class didn't do well, but that's because they never studied for tests. As long as you pay attention in class, take notes, and study before tests you'll be fine. The final exam is not as hard as he claims it is, but maybe that's because I actually studied for it.

The class wasn't hard to understand because he explained everything clearly. He goes step by step and helps you if you don't get it. He does assign a lot of online homework questions, but there's a lot of chances to fix the work. Overall, I would take the class again.

Professor Murphy is a solid choice. I took him for an online class and his lectures were kinda boring but he did explain things well. If you have questions he'll answer them but he does give a little attitude sometimes. Homeworks prepare you for the tests and are pretty long. I usually had 2 to 3 assignments a week each of about 30 questions.

He is a really chill guy. There really is no exceptions for late work. His lectures can get boring but they are so helpful. Push through it, listen, and take notes. He explains literally everything in detail, and if you just go through and do the homework as a review for your exam, you are all set.

He is a pretty good professor. He makes sure to answer any questions and he will go over anything you aren't sure about. He answers his emails pretty quickly so if you have questions outside of class, they will be answered. He is pretty nice and understanding.

I loved this class. He inspired me to change my major. I thought I hated math but he made it understandable and gave me plenty of tools to succeed. I studied my ass off and got a great grade. Highly recommend.

attedance isnt mandatory but if you go every day this class is very easy. i loved this and was worried since i failed before with a different teacher but come to class, take notes, and do the homework on time and he makes sure you will succeed. hes also really funny in my opinion

Prof Murphy was FUNNY, he knows how to use a 50min timeslot well. It is a lot of information but it is an easier math course. His explanations for some things are a bit wonky, but as long as you do the homework you will understand everything. It is very homework heavy and the hw is online but it isn't too time-consuming. You will spend ~1.5 hr per.

Easy class, as long as you do the homework, you'll be fine. Tests have cheat sheet you can use. Super chill professor. As long as you show up and do what you need to do, you'll be fine.

Attendance is not mandatory, however, if you don't show up, you might as well withdraw while you can. You have to attend the lectures if you want to pass. I'm going to be honest, if you're a STEM major, and you're struggling in this class, reconsider everything. Easiest math class I've ever had.

Scott Murphy is an intelligent and well-explained individual. His MAC1105 is organized, 3 tests every 5 weeks, with two or so simple projects throughout the course. Besides that, the course is primarily lectures with online quizzes/homework using Pearson software. Murphy is a personable guy, cracks jokes, and it was great to be his student.

Scott was a great professor, funny in the classroom. He would go over everything you had a question on, and was really slow with transitioning to new topics. Definitely would take again.

I have never been good at math until taking this class. His course structure is very straightforward, and the way that he explains things is clear and easy to understand. I feel like he helped fill in those gaps of knowledge that previously made math extremely difficult for me. There is lots of homework, but the tests are really easy in comparison.

Professor Murphy is engaging and makes a tough math class bearable. Attend lectures, do the homework, and you'll do well. unstuckstudy was also super helpful for extra practice.

I didn't really have to try to pass this class. It was very easy and his teaching style is great. I will say that he isn't the nicest and if miss one step of a question you may be screwed.

If you need a more attentive math professor, I would choose someone else. He is a good teacher for those that have prior knowledge but not so much for others. The homework is harder than the tests in my opinion. Funny lad.
