Great teacher who really cares about his students! Very helpful with difficult information and clear about what you're expected to know for the quizzes and exams. It's accounting so don't expect to pass by not working hard; go to class, pay attention, do all the assignments, put in the time for studying and you'll do well.

He is pretty awesome! The subject is tough not going to lie but he makes the material make sense. He has a sense of humor that makes class interesting. If u have to take this class do yourself a favor and pick him because he knows his stuff.

Professor Paxton is an awesome teacher. He gives you real life examples and is very helpful. His quizzes are not very hard as long as you read the text book and keep up with the McGraw-Hill. I would take him next semester but have to go to Osceola Campus.

For taking his class one day (he subbed for our prof.)he turned out to be the best professor I have had! The inclass assignment that he typed up helped so many of us out that we asked for his email address to send us the rest of the inclass assignments for the chapters we had left to better understand the material. This was the professor's first semester at Valencia. Every assignment except in class quizzes is done online (final and midterm as well). Lots of extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. Overall a great professor and a great class. Taking him for managerial next semester

Uses Connect for all homework, quizzes and exams. Professor Paxton sticks with the book material so if you read the chapter, you will already know what will be shared in class. However, you must go to class to receive credit for in-class quizzes. He does provide extra credit opportunities and is clear with expectations.

Professor Paxton is the best!

Professor Paxton is perfect for financial accounting. He really knows his material and explains things in a way so everyone understands. Coming into this course I didn't know what to expect but I ended this class with a high A. He offers plenty of extra credit and as long as you do all of your assignments, you will do great!

I took Professor Paxton for Principles of Financial Accounting. I don't really understand these negative comments. Prof Paxton has a clear set-up for his material. If you follow along, read, and do the work, you'll be successful. He made the material interesting and genuinely cares about his students. I got an A, taking him for Managerial.

This is my 4th accounting class, and Paxton is the one I've learned the most from so far. He is organized, methodical, and gives you a road map to succeed. He doesn't train you to mechanically complete your your test. He wants you to understand the material and be able to make decisions. Prof. Paxton or accounting is not for low IQ lazy students.

I had to clarify that one single person posted all the last bad rates. I know for a fact, it was someone that doesn't like the material, and didn't do the work. If you are a serious student, just ignore them. Prof. Paxton talks for a few minutes before class because he is not a robot. Once he starts the class, he STAYS on task. The best Prof. ever.

If you actually show up to class, he is an amazing professor, very clear in material delivery and up front and clear on class expectations. If you are a student who cannot show up to class or show up on time do not take him, he has a very strict attendance policy. 3 absences and you WILL be dropped from the class. Tardiness counts as an absence.

Professor Paxton is a down-to-earth, relaxed guy. I took him for Managerial Accounting. The topics we covered are super important for any business major and he does a great job lecturing about it. He doesn't hesitate to elaborate on anything if you aren't comfortable with the material. There's a fair amount of homework and quizzes. Just study a bit

great guy that works with students. make sure you actually work and study because accounting is a tough class. you will earn great knowledge to use for future classes.

Prof. Paxton will give you all of the tools for success, you will have to put forth the effort. Read the book, do the practice problems, do your homework and online quizzes on time, and never loose your green sheets. The final is worth 30% of your overall grade, so make sure you study. This will not be an easy class, but he will help you.

I had Professor Paxton for Financial Accounting, and I will be taking him again for Managerial Accounting this upcoming semester. It isn't so much the professor that's difficult, but rather it's the material and the amount thereof. I can tell that this gentleman absolutely enjoys his profession, but that's off-topic. Be prepared to buckle down and do lots of stuff on the computer. Quizzes, homework assignments, LearnSmart readings, extra credit - do it ALL. His class was my first C, and that's because I didn't keep up with everything. If you have him, I wish you luck! :)

Dedicated teacher who knows his accounting. He gives out green sheets that help you to study. If you do the green sheets and all the connect work on time you will pass his class. He quizzes you every chapter. I wish he would consider going over the chapter first, then have the homework in Connect due two days before his quizzes. Awesome teacher!

I took the class online, and all I did was watch the videos in homework section to answer homework correctly. Make sure you answer the journal questions and review all the blackboard chapter questions for the final, and you will get an A like me.

Professor Paxton makes accounting relatable to the real world by offering his professional insight and making it easy to understand. Homework is all online through connect and he provides in class notes. There are in-class quizzes after each chapter that are an easy grade! I would take another class from him.

Professor Paxton is a really nice guy and very intelligent! He will help you out with h/w in his office if you aren't understanding something. Accounting isn't easy, so prepare to work, but he knows how to teach, and with the help of his green-sheets, you'll get through the class as long as you put in a solid effort! You cannot get by in this class without putting in work from home. Prof. Paxton tells you that from day one and is very clear on what will go on during the semester. He provides practice sheets that you can study for and extra credit on some of the homework which is half of your grade. If you want to be an accountant or a finance major take him.

The homework in Connect is 50% of your grade and with the check your work option, it's easy to get 100. The weekly quizzes are 24% and the cumulative final exam is 26%. He gives extra credit and the final was open book, but not open note. He gives you every chance to succeed if you do the work. In addition to class lectures, he posts videos online.

10/10 would take him for every class if I could. I took him for both financial and managerial and he doesnt give any assignments that he hasnt tought in class. Hes caring and makes accounting easy even if its not your major. If you think his class is hard its because you dont show up to class and you dont complete homework.

Loved his online course! Make sure to go a little more in depth with his discussion posts because he likes specifics. Just read the text & make sure to do all homework assignments (which align with his tests) and with all the extra credit he offers you should be able to get an A. Thanks professor Paxton!

This is an incredibly challenging class. It is vital you show up each day and get the required information. He also posts daily quiz's but if you look over the material and do the online assignments you will have a better chance. Online assignments are key! The final is open book. He gives you plenty of time to prepare. Study and you'll pass.

His online youtube lectures are awesome and so is the course material. Grading criteria is super clear and I would definitely take him again for managerial accounting. Definitely recommend!

I was super scared about this class since people said it was really hard. Stiil, Professor Paxton is great at what he does, there is "challenge" assignments on connect every week but they are the perfect way to study for the quizzes! which by the way are pretty easy. I just do the connect hw and have gotten 100% on all but one of them:) take him.

Professor Paxton is a very nice guy, and funny in fact. He tends to go way off topic with his "story time". His class is tough, not for me. He gives loads of homework assignments that are ridiculously time consuming and quizzes every other class. Everything is back to back and fast-paced. I wouldn't recommend if you're not one to learn so quickly.

Here's the deal. Prof. Paxton is the best accounting teacher period. He has the background and knowledge of everything you do and there's a reason he is good. 12 quizzes/ chapters, and 1 final at the end(compreh). Connect HW is online but its alot of long answers that take up most of your time. Do all connect HW, pass quizes, final- study .

prof. Paxton is great! I was extremely scared about his class but if you do the hw you should be able to get an A or at least a B in every quiz! He always tells stories related to the topic and is pretty funny. He definitely knows what he is talking about and his grading is straight-up. Not an easy A but definitely not hard.

Professor Paxton is the way to go if you truly want to learn about accounting, he has real work experience at the highest levels and he truly uses that in the classroom, making the lectures very smooth and not dull at all. Prof. Paxton is the best accounting professor at Valencia hands down. You must show up and do the work but getting an A or B is very doable.

Professor is a tough professor but he just wants to make sure you understand all the material. I took it as a online course for a full term and it was very challenging but I passed with a C. I spent hours and hours online trying to understand the material and in the tutoring center but Paxton kept encouraging me and helped me. I recommend him

Great professor! I really liked his class. He keeps the whole class interested every day and that's difficult to do considering the topic is accounting. He passes out step by step exercises in class that are a huge help! Wish all professors at Valencia were like him.

Honestly, I don't know if I would have passed this class without Professor Paxton. He really goes through the stuff step by step and helps you get it. I can't wait to take him for the next class.

The class is very interesting and hard at the same. This class was my toughest class&my first grade lower than an A. Was aiming for at least a B;didn't happen. My only complaints is the fact that you don't know your grade for sure because extra credits are counted as regular credits until the end. Besides that Prof is good, just a little hard.

He's really a great professor. I actually learned a lot in this class and he made it so that it wasn't boring. I have no idea what that other review was about. I'm a student of color and he goes out of his way to treat everyone the same. He's also there always if you need extra help. Extra cr available too. Plan to take him for next class.

Professor Paxton is a professor I would recommend to any student. He is always in his office during office hours, he is always willing to answer questions, his class is so engaging to the point where I never used my phone. There is a ton of work but all of it helped me to understand the subject. I am taking him again for managerial.

Hes very to the point kind of guy. You really do learn a lot, just review for the quizzes (chapter tests) and youll be fine. Seems like a lot of work but it isnt. No exams except final only quizzes and hw. Gives extra credit. Really cares for attendance and be on time!

Online class. Great videos and other help included in course site. Professor paxton posts short lecture videos in each chapter where he clearly explains the topic and gives examples you can easily follow. he answers messages quickly and really helped me in a couple of spots. Lots of extra credit also available. Will take him for next class!

Proud to say I got an A. Wasn't that difficult but it takes work. There is extra credit there if you mess up somewhere to help with your grade. Professor Paxton posted a ton of stuff and videos to help but its an online class so you have to do the work. I did message for help twice and he got right back to me. Would highly recommend!!

Had Professor Paxton for ACG2021 and ACG2071, both online. Classes were very organized and structured, and the learning modules were consistent. Both classes had challenging content, but the workload was manageable. Professor Paxton communicates frequently, answers questions promptly, gives feedback, and grades on time. Would definitely take again.

I took the online class, I would recommend. This course is like Managerial Accounting but with a deeper dive into the thought process that goes into decision making. Very organized assignments. Homework allows multiple tries until you get it right. If you study the chapter Quiz questions you should pass the Final. Do the extra credit!!

To be honest, his classes are hard a bit, but if you focus, spend more time learning, and do the homework, it will be easier for you. If you do not love math or stuff like that, accounting is not a class for you

In this class, you just need to do the assignments on time and DO THE EXTRA CREDIT it will help in the long run. In the final exam, I got a 67 but because I did the assignments on time and extra credit, I got an A. The final exam is an open book but he gives you less time to finish.

Professor Paxton is an amazing resource if you consider accounting. Great teacher and will set you up to succeed in future accounting courses. Took him years ago but his advice helped me land an internship, full-time offer, and I'm on my way to get the CPA. Thanks Scott!

Professor Paxton is what you want out of a college professor. He does have a lot of small quizzes for HW but if you read the chapter & watch the videos, it is easy to do. He is very responsive to his emails and allowed me extra days when I was sick. Very respectable professor.

Class has 12ch in a semester. 2hmwks 10-15questions. You can check before submitting for 100 on all of them. 1 quiz per ch. & he gives you in-class assgn to go through together. previous CPA ccountant & actually tries to apply the lessons to being successful in real life even if you're not ACG major. Also xtra credit. Basic studying

If you have to take ACG2021 I recommend taking it with him. Go to class because the most useful information will come for the lectures. He also gives out "green sheets" for each chapter that help better your understanding of all topics. It is crucial to redo these green sheets when you study if you want an A on the quizzes. Awesome professor!

Good overall but he does quizzes in class (be prepared to study a lot) almost 3 assignments per week. Gives a lot of extra credit, so you can get all the lost points back. Final exam is online, not protected. He is a good professor, but if you dont have time available to study during the week, dont take an f2f class with him.

He knows what he is talking about, after each chapter you'll have a short quiz but they are really easy because they are the same exercises of the green sheets that he is going to give you. Pay attention to him and ask questions if you need it, he is very kind and knows how to explain the topics. I would take him again.

I took this class and i had to write a review. TAKE THIS TEACHER !! his lesson plan is straight to the point. there are alot of assingments but if you stay ontop of everything you will have no issues ! you have the ability to work ahead and with the lectures and everything they are helpful.I think this was a good start into the world of accounting.

Don't understimate this class and do all the assignments the day of the deadline! Also I heavily reccomend completing all the challenges BEFORE the journal, you get two attempts on the challenges but just 1 on the journal and no partial credit. Overall this is an awesome class! I'm glad this was my introduction to accounting.

Professor Paxton was an amazing professor with very clear lectures and grading procedures. Green sheet helped me a lot for the quizzes. If you show up and pay attention to his lectures you will do fine. The class itself is not easy but I think Professor Paxton does a great job at making it simple. He's the reason why today I'm an accounting major.

This class is fairly simple. One math journal to fill out and submit on Canvas, two 10-15 question assignments, and a quiz. This is done per week. If you do the notes, practice assignments, and review hints/book, you will do fine! The work itself sometimes can be a bit tedious; however, it is not often. There is also the occasional extra credit.

There's minimal student-teacher interaction. There are no chapter exams in his class besides the final. There are around 12 chapters. Per chapter (in a week), you have 2 homework assignments and a quiz (through McGraw-Hill software) and one canvas assignment where you answer 4 to 5 questions (no show your work). It's a pretty manageable workload
