Great Teacher, very laid back. He does give homework every week in which you're going to have to rely on google most of the time. New labs every week but you don't have to write a paper, as long as you get the lab to work he just checks it off. His quizzes and exams are open note open book, taking him again next semester for a different class

Scott Pollat is as nice professor, and sometimes he will work with you to get a handle on the topic. The subjects he teacher are out of the realms of his knowledge, so it will be a rough ride for people wanting to learn. If you dont know the subject being taught, you will not have a fun experience.

Prof. Pollat explains topics very well while solving problems during lecture; he asks often if anyone has questions and is available after class. The con were the lab instructions were not very clear, so it took a large portion of the lab period just to understand what we were supposed to do, but he tried to improved after feedback from first labs.

He was not familiar with the content that he taught in class. Just read the slides word by word. He cannot answer students' questions and always need TA to answer for him. I do not know how can such a "professor" still teach classes at university. He should retire and stop wasting students' time and misleading students.

This professor was not well-prepared for the class. He did not know what he was talking about and just read the slides. He almost did nothing for the class. He did not care about how his students' feelings and concerns in his class. Therefore, if you can choose another one, please skip him. Trust me! He will disappoint you!

He only reads the slide in class. No matter what questions you have, he would say, ask Ta. He knows nothing about the class and he should retire. He is the worst professor I have ever seen.

He is a joke. Although he did not have a bachelor's degree in engineering, he was teaching engineering students. He knew nothing for the class that he was teaching. Every time, when you asked him a question, most of the time he would say, "That's a good question." And then, he would ignore the question and change the topic.

Scott Pollat did not grade anything himself and did not know what the criteria were that the TA was grading off of. The TA could not explain what he wanted and gave people poor grades as a result. Save yourself and don't take a class with him

Really wanted his students to do well. Gave a good amount of homework but if you do well on the homework and understand the concepts you'll be fine on the tests. He gives extra credit in one lab. Goes over every question on the test the class before. Would definitely recommend it.

The professor cannot well explain the materials in class, but you need to learn yourself before doing the homework. The class is not well organized. He always changes the topic of classes even if he already mentioned a specific topic last week. He did not reply to your emails.

Pollat is a nice guy, but he had a terribly difficult time forming coherent sentences in class. For instance, here is an email he sent to the class this semester. Good luck with this professor. He's not a bad instructor and he can be funny at times. The thing is he's not really structured with group projects or understands what he's teaching. Your mostly gonna be on your own with your teammates trying to understand what he wants you all to accomplish. If you can put up with his teaching, easy B or A.

He seemed unsure of what he was doing so it was impossible to learn anything. Additionally, the grading on Canvas was unclear and he never uploaded any grades after spring break. I attempted to reach out to him via email, but unfortunately, he never replied. It also takes attendance sheet--only wasting your life

He doesn't prepare much for class. Goes on tangents about unrelated topics. Talks quietly. Gets bullied by the classroom(very little control over the classroom when acting up). Doesn't prepare students for labs/assignments/projects, the whole class didn't know how to use the software necessary for class and we had to struggle the whole class.

You will have to learn everything by yourself. On lectures, he just goes on tangents and the labs do not make much sense. If you have a question, go to the grader/TA. Midterms and homework are very difficult. Good luck with this class, as there are literally no other professors to teach this class.
