BAD teacher. Very unreasonable. Gives you a -5 for not turning in homework (thats given every night), if you do the homework and get maybe one question wrong (out of 25), you will get either a 0 or a 1 out of 5. Will not let you take a test if you are missing only one homework assignment. Is very ignorant when asked a Question. DO NOT TAKE!!!!!

Not helpfull with students. Took points off for writing too small and doing extra work to benifit myself. It's either the way he knows or it's wrong. If you skip a step the whole thing is wrong.

I took regular Calc 2, which is far more in depth than TCalc 2. I got a B in Calc 2. I had to take TCalc 2 because I switched majors. I failed TCalc 2. Randby was a horrible teacher. He took points off for arbitrary reasons. His tests didn't seem that hard when you took them, I understood the material but failed the tests hard. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

Just the worst professor ever, you have to do things his way if not he will grade you terribly.

I take an www/lecture class. We meet every Thursday to take a quiz. There's no homework or lectures in class. The lessons are all online on his website to look at. He is a tough grader so be super careful. If you do not put exactly what he wants, you'll get problem marked incorrectly. Overall the math is easy and his lesson clarifies really well.

Avoid this professor at all costs. He believes he is the smartest human being to ever walk the Earth. You have to do the work his way, and use his exact words/processes. He does not care if youre sick, he expects you to be in class.

Randby's ego has manifested and took his place. Refuses to read anything that isn't a copy of his work. Requires you to show 2+2 because he can't comprehend mental math. Cyber security majors beware, his classes are tough.

This is a course where you can know every concept 100% but you will still likely get points taken off your tests. Label your work? Points off for not doing it the way he wanted, which he never specified btw. Not labeling obvious steps? Points off. Write information from the question onto the written work, such as an equation/variable? Points off.

Grades insanely tough. If you dont write neat you lose points, if you circle an answer, you lose points, if you write out the question, you lose points. His lectures are the most mind numbingly boring things in history. He says one word a minute and has 3 hours of lecture with only 20 minutes of useful information. He thinks he is a god.

8 quizzes - no other grades. Quizzes do not quiz you on whether or not youknow the content. Quizzes are how well you can regurgitate his exact work. I have gotten every question right on multiple exams just to get 60s-70s with no remorse. Has extreme superiority complex and does not care about you or your grade. avoid at all costs.

One of the hardest classes I've taken. The content itself is actually really basic, for some of it it feels like high school classes. The problem is he takes 3 hours to explain something that takes me 6 minutes to learn on youtube. It sounds like he hates himself more than he hates his students

Scott Randby might be the ficklest teacher that I have. He will take off points for things that do not even pertain to what you are working on. This is bad because there are 9 things you are graded on, 1 creating a PDF assignment, and 8 quizzes. The pdf Is worth 5 pts and the quizzes are worth 50 pts each, giving you a total of 205 points.

The format of the class does not encourage you to learn the material. It encourages you to memorize his exact steps and repeat them with new numbers. You can lose up to 50% of your test even if you get the correct answer using the same methods as him but have minor notation/formatting errors.

very unhelpful professor. Would not take again and would warn everyone else not to take again. You have to learn his way or you lose points. You can spend hours studying and doing his homework and prove you understand the concepts and still pull a 70-80 on a quiz. Dont put yourself through this.

By far the worst professor I have had in my entire life. Constantly being snarky in emails, unwilling to work with students who have a work schedule, expects everyone to be a wizard at math(assuming we know and skipping ahead). Would recommend another teacher if you had the choice...

Hands down the worst professor I've ever had the misfortunate to take. He takes off mass points for work he deems 'irrelevant', and is incredibly rude and condescending both in and out of class. Extremely fickle, and will take off points even if you copy his homework answers word for word. Worst part is, you're forced to take his class. Good luck.

His ego proceeds him and his material, and is the rudest individual I have encountered. Grading is outrageous. If you have notes and memorize his word for word "methods", points are deducted because it wasn't perfect. I understand needing to have correct work, but even if its right, he'll mark points off. I cannot stress enough how awful he is.

Worst Professor ever! You have to memorize his notes but still don't expect a good grade. This is a math class yet our grades are reduced for missing punctuation and grammar opinions in the "show you work" part. One quiz he deducts for showing to much work but the next one is not showing enough work. His comments on graded work are inaccurate.

Hands down the worst professor I have ever had. Rude in emails, unhelpful, my grade actually went down the more I met with him. Randby's course material is far from relevant in the field. You have to do the work EXACTLY like he would or you will fail. You can loose 50% your grade for grammar or having TOO MUCH work. Unwilling to meet with students.

if you see any rating above a 3 it was placed by this professor himself, look at the spread of the ratings 30 1 star reviews, hardly any in the middle, yet 24 5 star reviews. it is purely his ego talking as he is perfect in his own eyes, avoid him at all costs. i have lost points for using first person on an OPINION based paper

Took a class with this professor almost a whole year ago and remembered I never got a chance to speak on this. Everyone that talks about his ego is completely correct. I was marked off on quizzes for showing "too much work" whatever that means. In a math class. Horrible experience, by far the worst experience I have ever had with a professor.

His grading is terrible. He will take points off if you do not copy his work directly from the notes, even with the correct answer. Though, even if you do the work exactly as he did, he will find a way to take off points for some bizarre and outlandish reason. If you would like to keep your sanity, do not take any course offered by him.

Disregard any 5 star reviews they seem to be outdated and made by bots judging by the grammar. Please avoid this professor at all cost. He has the biggest ego I have ever encountered and he is the most horrible grader ever on the 8 quizzes you get in the class. You can always rely on him to degrade and ridicule you when you email. Stay far away!!!

Quizzes are impossible. I do the work exactly how he shows it in the homework (with the correct answer), and he still finds random and ridiculous things to take points off for. Don't take his class.

DO NOT TAKE WITH SCOTT, grading your test HEAVY! If you DONT do everything HIS way, you will get DEDUCTED points. Every quiz I got 50% for using the wrong method, but getting the right answer, showing TOO much work, or TOO little work, etc. DONT BELIEVE ME? GOOD LUCK

Worst class I've ever taken. When you take math from Scott Randby, you aren't learning any math. Instead you are spending all your time trying to copy exactly what he tells you to do. If one week you put down too much work for an answer, the next week he will mark you off for putting too little work for an answer.

Such a bad series of classes taught by him. Unnecessarily hard and grading is ridiculously strict. If you can at all, avoid Randby. Can copy work exactly from his lectures and still manage to get a 70% on the quizzes. Only have 8 quizzes the whole semester and that's the only thing that he grades. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Easily one of the worst professors you can take for these courses. His grading makes no sense because you can essentially memorize what he says about the topic and he will mark it wrong with no explanation. He will also mark you wrong for doing "too much" work to prove your answers. Lastly, he will mark 6 points off your quiz for writing your name.

Easily one of the worst professors in Cyber. You can tell he goes out of his way to take points off, such as putting your name on your paper. He will mark things wrong even if you copy it directly from his own words and can't give you a reason why it's wrong. Doing too much work is a bad thing even if it's correct or necessary. AVOID.
