before I took him, I was kind of worried about philosophy. However, Scott Sevier is great professor and he knows what he is teaching. It is not an easy class, but if you work enough then you will get an A. Every homework is based on the book and the tests are based on the homework questions.

I despised this class. The switch to online during COVID-19 was happening, so it didn't help. His lectures were almost as difficult to understand as the reading material was. All homework assignments were worth 1 point, so if you missed one assignment you were screwed. He had accused students of plagiarism even if they never saw it.

The lectures are extremely boring and the way he grades homework doesn't make any sense. If you don't answer one problem on the homework, then you get an F on it. On top of this, the answers have to be accurate. He also grades your essay very roughly.

I didn't really enjoy this class. The professor just lectures during the conference times which I had a hard time paying attention to. The program used for his Phil 102 class was most certainly a benefit to the class. The program has a textbook, many assignments are built into it, and it really makes learning the material later in the class much easier. At the beginning of the semester, we had several books that were quite informative. Overall, not much work, learned a lot.

Philosophy101 is a class that most students need to take for their major. Some may see it as unnecessary, but if there is something that has changed my life positively in my college experience, it has to be Dr. Seviers philosophy 101 class. Dr. Sevier is great! His expectations are clear and reasonable (4 weeks summer course, really condensed). His lectures are calm and insightful. Unlimited attempts on HW so you can really learn and get an A on those and the exams. Interesting course, would take him again!!

I took the summer course and honestly I was a little hesitant about dropping the class because I was also taking another class. But I am so glad I went through with it and passed with an A! He is very clear from the beginning about the assignments, hw, and quizzes which you do need to buy an online access for it. Stay on task and you will pass!

I only recommend this class if you're only taking 1-2 classes unlike me I took 5 classes this semester. The class does require an amount of time because you are going to be reading alot 4 books to be precise. The professor is caring does go over every chapter with you. I would've gotten an A if I put in more time.

I say take this professor, he is a great professor. The beginning of the class required a textbook and was the assignments were time consuming but the second half was on McGraw-Hill so you have to pay for it, there were less assignments but still time consuming. He provides optional lectures as well as 3 exams.

I would recommend Dr. Sevier's class to anyone taking Philosophy 102; this class teaches critical thinking which in my opinion is very interesting. He has pre-recorded lectures which you should watch while also reading both textbooks in order to grasp the material better. The work load is manageable and insightful on the subject--very useful.

This professor is very kind and gets back to you pretty quickly. I think he is extremely fair. Tests are each worth 15% of your grade, so that is a bit of a bummer, but tests are also very fair. This was a hard class for me. I would rather do any math class over Philosophy, but this Professor made it tolerable! I recommend Sevier!

This critical thinking class was a bit challenging for me. If you listen to a lecture off handed without really thinking about every word, it can start to sound like another language. This being said, Dr Sevier really walks you through the material and ensures he has repeated the info needed I. Several ways to ensure it starts to sink in.
