Scott is one of the most inspirational teachers. He has many many wise things to say about life. Stambach connected physics with life and that is what made me survive physics.
In his class being smart and hardworking is not enough b/c you need to have previous experience in Physics if you want to understand and succeed in the class. In the test, you will notice there are so many exceptions that you don't learn in his class or HW but you need to know to do well in the test. (he is passionate about Physics & his students.)
Loves his job and it shows. He will help you regardless of how many times you ask or you dont get it. I didnt read the book but went off all of his study guides and homework, but students that read the book seemed to do better. Lectures are fun but you wont learn everything from there. Loves participation! During labs if youre done you can go.
Scott is the most approachable professor. He makes sure that his students get the material. Physics is hard but he simplifies it as much as he could. I definitely recommend taking him!
Scott is a phenomenal professor! He is so caring, patient, and always available during office hours. He's very approachable for help which is great because physics is a difficult subject and explains enough for you to understand. He's funny, easy to talk to, and is passionate about teaching.
Incredible,Caring person and professor is very approachable. His lectures are prezi and mostly problems and equations. You get a note card on test. Physics is hard. He does help you out as much as he can tho. group work every class, easy. Hw is online. Do it, without practice you wont get far. Lab is very easy, connects to lecture material.
Seriously, I cannot begin to explain how AMAZING Scott is. He is so caring and wants to make sure you understand everything as much as possible. He is very accessible as well. Physics is hard, definitely not an easy A but he sets you up for success. If you don't study, chances are you won't pass. TAKE HIM FOR PHYSICS!! Also easy on the eyes!
Scott Stambach is an amazing professor. He genuinely cares about the growth and success of his students. He makes time to ensure that they understand the concepts. He really knows his stuff when he teaches. Put your best foot forward and you'll get the grade you want.
Physics isnt an easy subject, but Scott will do anything and everything in his power to help you as long as you ask. He is very passionate about his students and the subject. It makes you be more engaged and excited to learn about the world of physics. He shows his students how we are surrounded by physics& how it impacts our daily lives.
Gives group work every lecture that are easy points and reflect the test. He is an amazing teacher and makes the concept easy to understand. He does everything in his power to help and always has office hours. He is funny and you can tell he loves what he does. He is great and makes me actually learn the concepts- take him!!!
Scott stambach is by far the best professor I ever had. You want to understand physics? please take scott. He is very inspiration and gives the best feedback. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you'll make it mandatory and look forward to be in his class. Amid COVID-19, scott has made it his job to check up on us daily because he truly cares about us.
The best professor I have had in my college career thus far! I have had Scott for both Physics 130 &131 and received an A both semesters. Scott is super caring and you can tell his job is more than just teaching to him. He genuinely cares about Physics and every student that enters his classroom. GREAT HUMAN BEING & PROFESSOR- Take him!!!!!
The best professor I have had in my college path and you will ever have too. I took physics 131 with him and received an A. Scott is a very caring person and you can see that. His teaching methods are perfect, he has a passion not just a Job. Professor Scott really cares about his students, just take him dont think.
I took two semesters of physics with him and got A in both of them. He really cares about the students and will help you if you ask. His classes are not easy, don't expect to pass without putting the work. The labs are fun, and so the group project. However, the exams are not easy because you will be tested on understanding the material.
Professor Scott is honestly the best Physics professor. He explains his lectures in a clear and interesting way. Even though our class is online due to Covid-19 he made the video lectures fun and interesting to learn. HW and Labs are easy and fun to do and he is always there to help students. I took PHYC130 with him and for sure will take 131 too!
Professor Scott was one of the best professors i have ever had. The class itself is not easy, so you need to study for it. Studying homework, lecture notes and studyguide will prepare you for his exams. Labs are fun, and you work with a group in the lab. He explains very well, and he has office hours which helps a lot. The best physic professor.
During COVID Scott was such a great teacher. His classes are 100% asynchronous and he gives you time to do labs and homework. He gives extra credit for attending a workshop once a week and the problems in the workshop show up on the exam. Plus, you get a buddy and open notes/book exams. Pay attention to the lectures and you'll be fine.
During COVID Scott was an amazing teacher. The class is 100% online and you have a week to do the homework and labs. He also gives extra credit if you attend a practice workshop once a week and the problems show up on the exam. Plus, you get a buddy and open notes/books for each exam. Pay attention to the lectures and you'll pass.
I highly recommend professor Scott because he is one of the best professors I have ever seen in my life. I took physics 130 him and it was my first physics class. I was a little nervous, but professor Scott made me love physics with his amazing lectures. I promise you will never regret taking professor Scott.
Professor Stambach is by far the most engaged and inspirational teacher I have had the pleasure of learning from. Physics wasn't something I was really excited about, his enthusiasm each day makes it impossible to not enjoy his lectures. He is very approachable and genuinely cares about his students. Highly recommend his class!!
Scott is an AMAZING teacher! Easy-to-understand lectures, homework isn't too difficult, and putting in the time to review the material will get you an easy A if you listen! Scott is so approachable and so kind, making the class definitely easier to understand in such a difficult subject as physics. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN! He's the best there is :)
scott's class has honestly made physics so much more enjoyable for me. his lectures are clear, to the point, and he's always available for questions if needed. the class is a little difficult at times, but nothing too extreme. you just need to practice. wish i had known about him when i was taking 130 because he's truly a one-of-a-kind professor!
He is a great teacher but dont be fooled by the reviews he is so harsh grader and runs the class so hardly Taking physics with him was a nightmare I would never choose to take again.
Short and sweet: because of Scott I understand how light works. Also, Scott should be the reason why this site should reintroduce the chili pepper rating,
Professor Scott was simply fantastic! If you've struggled with physics in the past and want a teacher who's heavily invested in their students, provides a plenitude of extra credit opportunities, holds numerous office hour sessions, and makes learning physics actually an enjoyable experience then look no further. He also helped write my LoR
Scott should teach professors how to be professors. If I had Scott as my professor for every class, Id have a 4.0 gpa. He is THE best professor Ive ever had in my college career. He truly wants you to pass and if you visit him in office hours, he will gladly help. If you want to get an A and truly learn physics, take Scott!!! Hes funny too lol
Scott Stambach is a great physics professor and a great person! If you ask him for help or go to his office hours he will try and do everything to help you because he cares about his students. As long as you dont cheat in his class hell help you whenever you need it. It is not an easy A class but he makes it easier especially with the study guide
I took Scott for the first time and I was so nervous about taking Physics, but let me tell you that he made the class fun! He helps you out if you ask for help. Ask him about the concepts and understand it. I would definitely take him again if I could! He cares about the students. Make an effort and take advantage of office hours they help out!
My absolute favorite teacher, I'm not interested in Physics but his class was so engaging and entertaining. He really gears his exams towards those going into the medical field and is always available if you need help.
Scott is an amazing teacher and a must have for any course. His lectures are enjoyable and his excitement for what he teaches is infectious. He really cares for his students and will work with you as much as he can. He also posts his content on YouTube so you can rewatch it if you are confused. Would absolutely take his class again!
It's not a forehead, it's a five-head. This man is always above average. His lectures are great, the videos are edited to perfection, and his peer tutors are perhaps the best in the school.
Honestly, one of the best physics professors out there. This was my fourth time trying to pass physics and this is my last! Thanks to this professor he made understanding physics so easy! Plus if you dont understand something, hes will try his best to help you understand. Made me actually appreciate physics lol.
Scott is amazing!! If you think you are not very good at physics and need a professor to help you learn and succeed then definitely take his classes. Go to office hours!! The material is difficult, but he wants you to do well so ask questions and he will do whatever it takes for you to understand (trust me I needed a lot of help).
Professor Stambach is seriously one of the few professors who truly care about their students! His lectures are super informative and he gives you exactly what you need for an exam. He makes class super fun and enjoyable. I would literally take any class there is with him if he is teaching it. You'll want to switch to physics major after his class
Scott is the definition of a great teacher! He truly loves teaching physics and he makes the contents so fun. The lecture videos are short video clips where he goes over the main concepts and solves problems in a step by step, organized way. Definitely stop by his office hours if you have any questions, hes always there to help!!
Scott is not only a great educator, but also a great mentor if you need any support. Physics is a hard subject, but he cares deeply about your success and goes above and beyond to make sure you understand it. Don't try to cheat. Just don't. This will be emphasized. He gives PLENTY of opportunities to do well in the class.
He is a very difficult professor. Anything different even small detail than the way he wants (To him is not your work). I got a lot of stress in this class. Do not recommend.
One of the best professors I've had. It's very obvious that he cares about student success - from the well put together lectures, ample opportunities for help (emails, office hours, workshops), compassion, humor, and personability. Physics is difficult, but put in the effort and you'll do fine. A lab and homework assignment each week, very doable.
100% recommend! Easily consumed lectures that feel like a smart friend is explaining something to you. Humble, thoughtful, funny, and engaging instructor who prioritizes his students' well-being. Work-load is reasonable and no surprises on the exams. It's clear that Scott's passion is creating the opportunity for his students to be successful.
Too make it simple for anyone that is reading this, this is the class you want to take!!! You will not only learn physics but be able to connect it with real world examples!! Scott is as good as it gets so be ready to be entertained!
Best physics prof.
Don't miss the opportunity to take his physics courses! I had a TON of anxiety about physics but he makes it relevant and fun. I wasn't great at algebra, but he gives reminders along the way. The professor works hard to build a culture of academic integrity and cheating has consequences, so I'd pass on this class if that is your intention.
Professor Stambach was a fantastic professor. I took him for 130&131 after having a terrible experience with physics at another university. He will go out of his way to make you both enjoy & understand physics and was incredibly accessible outside scheduled hrs. Exams were reflective of practice effectively alleviating test stress!!
Class was all online but easy to navigate, has lecture videos every week, hw and a lab. Exams were sometimes hard but we were allowed to use a note sheet and some problems were variations of lecture problems. Also, Belal the TA held workshops multiple times a week that were super helpful. Both Scott and Belal were very caring, positive and helpful.
Stambach is one of the best professors ever! His students' well-being is very important to Scott, who makes his best effort to accommodate us. The lectures are helpful for studying for the exams and doing the homework, which is graded on a weekly basis. You can succeed as long as you take advantage of the resources and do the hard work.
Professor Stambach is really nice, he truly cares about students. His lecture material is excellent, his criteria are extremely clear and his tests are a bit difficult but the study guides do help. I think he is a solid choice.
Scott is an incredible professor, and takes a difficult topic and makes it much easier to learn and understand thanks to his amazing lectures! He is always willing to help and offer guidance at almost any time for homeworks, labs or exams. Truly cares that you understand the material. Anyone who needs to take physics should take his class!!!
Not sure how all these other reviews fooled me into believing this was a perfect professor. his grading is very inconsistent & very strict on grading. if you were to do similar work on the exam but wrong answer as someone else, you would be marked down 8 points while the other person would be marked down like 3 points. Doesn't have a clear criteria
Professor Stambach is good at informing and putting out lectures that are clear to understand. The problem comes when his tests are very different from what we've been learning; difficult questions. Also, he has a corrupt grading criteria for both labs and exams. I dislike how his grading is very disorganized and all over the place. Overall, is ok.
he's good. 4 out of 5 for now
Scott is probably one of the coolest and most enthusiastic teachers ever, on top of being great at what he does. Some reviews here say some bad things and I am not sure where these people are coming from. As long as you do the work it's essentially impossible to get a bad grade, I mean he lets you use notes on the test what more can you ask for!?
If Scott started a cult, I would probably join.
Extensive labs for only 10 points. Overall amazing and supportive Professor with great enthusiasm and humor in lecture videos.
Really great and caring professor. He responds quickly and is very approachable, open to questions and concerns if we're unsure of our grades. Not sure how he manages grading and responding so quick with so many students but grateful he does. Watch the lecture videos, take notes and make a good note sheet for exam and it shouldn't be too bad.
Stambach is pretty cool, but I also give huge props to his assistants, such as Belal who deals with workshops for tutoring and helping those who are in need due to trouble understanding concepts or lectures. Belal is extremely helpful and is just as good as Stambach.
Physics is a 5 difficulty but I ranked it 4 because Scott excels at making complex material palatable. I dreaded this course but found it manageable the way it was structured and broken down here. He's understanding of when life obstructs and offers compromise, which allowed me to stay afloat and continue to learn. I would recommend him.
Best professor I have ever had in my life! He makes concepts so easy to understand and I truly mean that. Previous to taking his course physics 131 I took the first portion of physics at UCB and the teacher was horrendous, he 100% took away my fear of taking another physics course and I actually like physics now. You have to take his class!!!!!
Scott is one of the best professors I've ever had! I took 130 over 3 years ago and was very anxious for this class, but Scott doesn't give you an opportunity to fail. The material is hard, but he's an amazing lecturer, and allows you to use cheat sheets for exams and even a partner. He's very quick to respond and offer assistance as well.
This guy is amazing. I promise you no regrets. Take it now and I guarantee you it'll be an A on your transcript. His lectures and exams are very clear. He also gives the exams in MCAT format. I will be taking him again for 131
Professor Stambach was quite honestly my favorite professor I have had so far in college. Physics is the hardest course for me but the way that Professor Stambach structures his lectures I had no difficulty understanding the concepts. As long as you try to learn... you will learn and succeed in his class.
Professor Stambach is great professor! He really takes his time to get to know his students and provide as much help as possible. I had him for both semesters and he was able to simplify difficult concepts. Definitely recommend!
Scott is a great teacher who really cares about his students. He hold office hours every day and his lectures are entertaining. His class is online but he is very present in teaching. Physics is a very hard class but Scott is with his student every step of the way. With Scotts help I went from hating physics into truly enjoying it.
Stambach is a good teacher. Although physics isn't something to think easy of, but Stambach has a way of making it easy to assess and engage with. He's not merciless and actually takes into consideration about your personal problems. His exams are what's on lecture and make sure you join study group in zoom for better chance of passing (Trust me)
Professor Stambach is one of the best science teachers I've ever had! He makes learning fun and grade fairly. The best part is there is very little calculus involved as he knows most of his students are taking the healthcare route! Great Professor and class to take without the stress:)
Take physics with Professor Stambach!! His lectures are clear and he provides lots of walkthroughs for example problems, plus his sense of humor made the lectures more entertaining. Both the canvas format and exam format were very well-structured for an online course as well.
Professor Stambach is an exceptional physics teacher who has managed to infuse genuine humor with thought-provoking discussions. Scott excels at making the material easy to understand and relatable with his real-world demonstrations. He is an outstanding professor and author whose passion and knowledge are invalauble to everyone around him.
I had him for physics and took him again for physics 131. I got an A in both courses all because he was a really good teacher. His lectures are clear to understand and he's easy to reach out to. He replies in a timely manner and respects his students who struggle to understand concepts. Also shout out to Belal for his tutorings, he was also great.
Took Stambach for both Physics 130 & 131. Very understanding and goes above and beyond to support his students and see them succeed. Wish he taught upper division Physics courses. His lectures are easy to follow and definitely makes learning fun and interesting. Do the work and pay attention, you'll pass!
Throughout the challenging times of the pandemic, Professor Stambach went above and beyond to create an engaging virtual classroom environment. He has a remarkable ability to break down complex concepts into understandable parts. The knowledge I acquired in his class played a crucial role in my preparation for the MCAT. Join his meditation class!
Stambach is the best professors I have ever had. Took Physics 130&131 with him and got A in both classes. Answered emails and all concerns within hours only. Lectures easy. Extra credit assignment that substituted a lower exam which was very nice of Stambach to offer. Lucky to have taken Stambach. Please take his classes, you will never regret it!
Professor Stambach is truly a caring, passionate, and selfless person. He made learning incredibly easy and accessible, offering both in-person and online options. His lectures are informative and very clear. He is someone you can definitely rely upon for an enjoyable learning environment where growth is fostered in a multitude of areas. 100/10!
Stambach is the BEST prof. I have ever had. Lectures were online or in person and were amazing and clear. I learned so much from his 130 and 131 classes. Never in my life would I thought I would enjoy physics but he is inspirational. Granted, physics isn't easy, but watch the lectures, do the work and go to office hours. He truly cares if you care.
I took Physics 130 & 131 with professor Stambach and he was one of the best professors I've ever had a class with! He's truly caring, gave great lectures that made sure we understood the material, and he made the learning truly fascinating. He's very passionate about what he teaches and really cares about each student's success.
Professor Stambach was one of the best professors I have had. He was always so caring and willing to help. He structured the class in a way to give every student a chance to be successful and get an A. Professor Stambach was always willing to answer questions and was very accessible by email. Great person and lecturer that wants to see you succeed.
I took Professor Stambach for 130 and 131 due to prequisites for PT school. He firmly believes in his students and their ability to suceed. If you put in the work, you will do well. I really loved the in person lectures! Every lecture, I could see the burning passion that he has for physics and the success of his students. Top notch Professor!
I took PHY 130 & 131 as a prerequisite for PT school. Professor Stambach is an amazing professor that has an undying passion for teaching and physics. He firmly believes in the success of his students. If you put in the work to learn what he is teaching, you will find success. I preferred the in-person lectures! Top notch professor! Take his class!
Both an excellent professor and wonderful person. Great presentation of material and willing to discuss the subject on a regular basis if you're interested in Physics. Clear criteria, extra projects for grade improvements that tend to be beneficial in other parts of your life, and incredibly accommodating if you need it. Best teacher I have had!
Prof. Stambach excels in teaching, combining compassion with a skillful course design to ensure every student's success. Highly accessible and approachable, he's more than a lecturer; he's a mentor deeply invested in his students' achievements, both academically and personally.
If you're debating on which professor/physics class to take, Scott's Physics 130 class is the one - no doubt about it! Prof. Scott is easily accessible by both email & office hours, is very accommodating, and is an amazing lecturer. He explains the material extremely well and makes a difficult subject like physics very enjoyable. Amazing professor!
Professor Scott is the best professor I ever had. He is a wonderful and inspirational person. He deeply cares about his student's achievements. Professor Scott is an excellent teacher. He prepares and helps his students to get to where they want to be on their educational journey. Class materials are fascinating, and accessible.
As someone who dislikes math vehemently, Professor Stambach made it very understandable and enjoyable. He is extremely caring, understanding, and noticeably passionate about what he teaches. There are labs due every week that are applicable to the material you're learning. All around amazing professor.
Scott is a great dude. He has very fun and captivating lecture videos. Not all topics that are on the homework are discussed in these videos, that was my biggest issue. Other than that you can tell he really cares about his job more than any other community college professor, maybe even too much...If you plan on trying to take the easy route..don't
Great online lectures and office hours every week day. Not too much homework
I took Scott's PHYC 130 and 131 courses after struggling with physics at university. As a future veterinarian, I initially didn't see its relevance for my field; however, Scott connects physics to biology in a way that makes so much sense. His lectures are enjoyable, well-organized, and he shows that he truly cares about his students' success.
By far the best professor I've ever had! His lectures are pre recorded and super entertaining. He's also very passionate about physics which made the class a lot more enjoyable. I always make sure to recommend Professor Stambach to other students who struggle with physics and they end up doing very well in his class!
Took 130 & 131 online with him, got As in both. HW is online & straight to the point. Labs are pretty easy to follow & understand. Exams he allows one cheat sheet, front/back. Exams are also straight to the point & study guides are helpful. He has a wonderful TA that does workshops, honestly a huge help. Take advantage of all the extra credit
This was the most memorable class I've taken in my semester. Scott is a caring professor who genuinely wants his students to succeed. His lectures are fun and clear, and he has workshops that help with any confusion during homework. I never thought I'd enjoy physics in my life, I highly recommend this class!
Professor Stambach is one of the most caring and personable teachers I've ever met. The homework and labs are straight forward and directly relate to the tests. He's always available for questions and willing to make your life easier. He truly made physics (130 and 131) easy to grasp and overall embodies everything a teacher should be.
Totally recommend Stambach! Tests were pretty easy because he lets you have a note sheet, and labs were fun and engaging. It was easy to understand concepts even though I took the class online because he explains topics clearly in his recorded lectures. Overall, it was an enjoyable class, and the TA was really helpful!
I can't express how good this professor is. Professor Stambach teaches phenomenally and does everything to help his students succeed. Since it was a physics class, the topics are hard but as long as you keep up with his lecture and do the work, the exams should be easy. The exams are similar to his lectures. 100% recommend taking him!
I took phys I and II courses and got an A in both. Scott is kind, approachable, understanding and patient when it comes to his students especially during covid. His lectures were great, easy to follow and does not overcomplicate hard subjects. I felt very comfortable going to his office hours, which I 100% recommend, these concepts are not easy.
I had him for both Physics 130 and 131 and enjoyed them both. He is always there for you if you're struggling, and he encouraged me tremendously along my academic journey.
