This professor knows his history. He is also very funny and nice.
was a slack class, he does power points all class every class, he takes test questions straight off the notes you take in class. you get a review before every test. Took 4 tests and 1 book report. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!
EXCELLENT TEACHER. very easy and helpful. i highly recommend him
I really enjoyed taking his class. He is very knowledgable about history. As long as you pay attention and take notes, there is no way you can't get an A. He makes it interesting :)
This as an A+ professor. Very informative and makes U.S History very exciting and interesting to learn about. This class was a joy to attend. I took 121 and 122 with him and it was two easy A's. This class is a breeze if you pay attention and study the test review. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROFESSOR.
Mr. Wade is a very knowledgable instructor. He is very helpful and always available if you need help. His lectures were very interesting. Read the chapters, take notes, and study for the tests--you will make an A. This instructor is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Mr. Wade's history class is extremely enjoyable. His tests are easy if you study the power point notes. He does require a lot of papers (over 14 pages total), but nothing too in depth. If you are looking for just straight tests and no papers, take Biehl. If you want to enjoy the lectures, Wade is a must!
Great teacher, funny guy and very knowledgeable about history. I may even consider changing my major because I loved his class so much. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Wade is a fun teacher who is passionate about history. the quizzes and tests are easy multiple choice.
I enjoy his class so much!! He is my favorite professor! He knows his history and he makes it enjoyable at the same time..I definetely recommend him I just wish he taught western civ as well:(
Professor Wade's lectures are very interesting and informative. His tests are easy, cover materials only touched on in class, and he grades very leniently. As long as you show up to class and pay attention there is absolutely no reason why you should not get an A+ in the class. I would recommend him to others.
He's a good teacher. He knows what he's talking about. He is a little full of himself, but he's not too arrogant. The class itself is very easy, he gives all the material in class *never use your book* and the tests are super easy.
He is a very easy teacher. His classes are kinda boring but he is very nice.Tests and quizzes are very easy if you look over his study guide.Quizzes are every friday but are easy is you halfway pay attention.Great teacher, definately will take him again.
Good teacher who knows exactly what he's talking about. If you have a question and he does not know the answer, he will have it for you the next class. Overall, a wonderful teacher that is worth your time taking.
Such a nice guy. Very easy to talk to. Loves what he does and it makes it enjoyable for others. His class is super easy and gives study guides. The tests are taken right from the study guides. The papers are easy, 1 page minimum for each topic and one research paper at the end. I higly recommend him to anyone!
I'm not a big history buff but Mr. Wade is a good teacher. You don't need the brown book I never used it he teaches from power point. There are quizes every friday but he only takes the top 10. There are only 3 tests that are not hard if you study the power points and there are 5 papers that have to be written using the voices of history book.
Excellent teacher.I've never been that "into" history, but he helped make it "come alive".I really enjoyed his class and am looking forward to HIS 122.He states his views at times, but never pushes them on students. The 5 papers are due "during" the semester.Suggest doing them "during" instead of waiting until the last minute.Highly Reccomend him.
He is very amusing if you have a good sense of humor of politics. Very easy teacher. He likes it when people interact with him while he is teaching. Don't wait til the last minute to do the Voices of History papers!
Mr. Wade is a funny guy. His tests are extremely easy if you look over the study guides. Quizzes are issued once a week so pay attention to the Powerpoint lecture and take notes. He also puts the notes on Blckboard so you can simply print them out(good tip for lazy people) Don't wait til the last minute to do the 5 papers..
Scott Wade is the jam.... Thats it....
I HATED HISTORY UNTIL I TOOK THIS CLASS IT IS NOT YOUR USUAL BORING CLASS HE MAKES IT INTERESTING
Good teacher. All slide shows, that you copy and he explains. We were suppose to read a text book, and I never did and passed the class with a B+. Easy tests, with a study guide. I would recommend him as a teacher!
GREAT TEACHER! NICE GUY REAL PERSON MAKES HISTORY INTERESTING EVEN FOR THOSE OF US THAT HAD NO PRIOR INTEREST.IF YOU CAN HE IS THE GUY TO TAKE IF YOU WANT TO LEARN.
i hated history before wades class. what a cool dude. actually made history something interesting for me. im actually considering making it my major now. he does powerpoints every day and you can print yourself a copy of it. tests are easy. quiz every friday and those are super easy. great class. great teacher
Wade is hands down, the best professor I have had thus far! I hated history until taking his class. He makes it interesting. He won't stand for lazy people and their excuses, but understands that life happens. He's very open minded and nonjudgemental and encourages you to learn. I highly recommend him.
Mr. Wade is a great teacher. usually is late to class by 5-7 min. he does powerpoint slides. crystal clear on test. no projects were given. Usually lets class out early. his test are easy and hes a fair grader. made class fun and worthwhile.
I carefully selected this teacher based on his prior ratings (have previously hated history), and WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. He makes history come alive, and for the first time in my life (I'm 45), I'm actively enjoying history. Easy/interesting lectures, varied quiz styles, straightforward tests. If you read the book, you'll do even better.RECOMMENDED!
Very Generous. you have to read textbook and study. but his tests are not hard if you study. Highly recommended. Good luck!
Mr.Wade is a great teacher, I am a south african, and new nothing about US history, and I really learnt volumes. Great guy! Really knows his stuff, tests are no surprises, I just took him for spring and didnt get a single question wrong in any test or exam, weekly qiuzzes really helpful, highly recommended professor.
Overall cool guy! Likes to make jokes! Quizzes every single week but they are easy! Make sure you read and study! He loves history and her makes it easy and fun!
He is just an amazing teacher! he teaches history as easy as it can be!
This guy was amazing. he definitely made history a LOT of fun. He loved making jokes. just make sure you're on time so he doesnt "publicly humiliate" you. He really knows history, and loves teaching it. I would DEFINITLY recommend him as a professor!!
Laid back guy that knows what he is doing. Questions on the test come straight from notes and study guide. Gives you test essays beforehand to prepare for them. Easy quizzes each week as long as you review your notes. First day of class you must introduce your neighbor and vice versa. Sucks if you are shy but you'll get over it.
This guy is the best History teacher I have ever had! The exams are straight from the notes and text, and most of the notes are PowerPoint. However, there are 2 essay questions to every exam, and must be written well, so you better know your material. He likes class participation, and group exercises. So, I highly recommend participation.
Wade is a great teacher, but he's got a policy now where if you miss class, you can't make up the work and he doesn't want to hear your excuse. That's very unfair. I have to go out of town this weekend for a wedding and I'm going to miss on friday. I have no control over this. But Mr. Wade doesn't want to hear my excuse. So I get a zero. Thanks.
I enjoyed the books that he used. The class is mostly read the chapter and take a test. But the guy isn't a great help if you have a problem and he isn't very organized. Did not like him but like the book "A People's History of the US" by Zinn he used.
Mr. Wade is an awesome professor. As to the comment below about no make up work..at the end of the semester he drops your lowest quiz grade..so please don't complain. Super easy class tests are multiple choice and fill in the blank with an answer sheet attached. Anyone can pass his class if you just do the work.
Do the work you will pass
I hate history, but he makes it fun! He helps out on some quizzes but make sure you go to class or he may do an attendence quiz and give out the answers. You can;t make up quizzes.
Great online teacher. Assingments are reasonable and tests are fair. Wish I had taken him for all of my history classes (3rd one).
One of the best online classes I've taken. Highly recommend this professor. There are no surprises and you know exactly what to expect. If you follow the syllabus and complete all the assignments you should have no problems.
I learned a lot in Mr. Wades class. Very engaging teaching style and fair in his grading.
I took him for both 101 & 102. He was such a great teacher. Extremely nice & funny. Relates well to his students. Doesn't bury you under tons of work or info you don't need to learn. Exams are easy. I def recommend everyone to take him.
BEST HISTORY TEACHER YOU WILL EVER HAVE!
Has a love for history, and effectively instills that love in his students. Very amusing and personable guy, knows his business quite well, and doesn't require a terribly large amount of work. A few short papers and exams, really. Always looked forward to attending class.
Great guy, very interested with history. He's also personal, he likes to share. I would say he's pretty humorous in his own way. He's really chill, read your chapter, do your work, take notes and you'll be good.
3 test, a lot of quiz tons of extra credit. not really strict attendce. dont really need the book if you are fluent in history. tons of class dessustion. take him it is an EASY A
He is a chill professor who is fluent in all aspects of American history. Two test-midterm and final. The only negative thing I can say about his class is that his point system is really tough and practically impossible to get an A (even if you get an A on the midterm and final). Attend all classes or you'll fall behind on the point system.
I took him for the summer course. He is very clear on what he wants you to know and gives you a study guide before every test. If you do the study guide you will pass the tests. He uses the textbook a lot but he goes over everything in it in more detail in class. He is an awesome, funny teacher.
He is too funny!! there isn't a day that you don't laugh in his class. He does give lots of extra credit to help boost your grade. Lots of quizzes too. His tests are AWESOME!!
He is a great teacher, just make sure you are in class all the time. He has many quizzes and reading responses, but you can easily get them done. Great sense of Humor!
He is a funny guy, and not a boring teacher. He will answer any question you have. The worst thing about him is the number of papers you have to write and the amount of reading for homework. If you enjoy reading and writing he'll be your favorite teacher.
VERY good. just do the reading and do the assignments. he has a lot of quizzes, but it ends up helping you because it's basically extra credit because there will be an overage of points. very funny and willing to help in any way. he offered to help me with my degree program so that he could counsel and advise me on what classes to take.
While the assignments were clear, the quizzes and midterms seemed to be purposefully confusing and detailed. I am a straight A student and failed a handful of his quizzes. The rest of the assignments were reasonable, but I wouldn't take him online.
Took online. Very straight forward in what is expected. There is alot of reading. 2 writing assignments (2 pages each). 2 chances on quiz. If you bomb first, print results and study before 2nd attempt. Personable. Several discussion board postings. Overall, highly recommend.
Mr. Wade is probably the best teacher I have ever had. He teaches history with theology and makes you really see the truth in the text books. His lectures are the bomb. Super Easy class if you love history like he does. I'm taking him this spring I love him so much. He even advises me through email even though he's no longer my Proff.
Scotty Wade is seriously the best history teacher I've ever had. He's really chill and helps you really understand everything. Most of his class is lecture and notes, the tests are super easy, and he gives extra credit if you ask! I'm taking him for 122 this Spring.
The best professor I have ever had. I could talk to him for hours. He is not only extremely smart he is extremely well versed in history. I learned more from him then anyone else. He makes you see all sides. If you truly want to know history take this class. He will blow your mind. And he's adorable!
His passion is contagious. He exudes a love for history. I love history after taking his class. He examines the facts and philosophy of history. Sometimes, I had trouble understanding lecture material in context but reading helps the information to congeal. Tests, quizzes, assignments are content based and easy. He is very helpful.
Mr. Wade is an outstanding teacher. He is the best professor I've ever had. His interest in history is contagious. I had no interest in history before this class. He will go out of his way to help you. Take him take him take him
This is the best history teacher you will ever have. He would give you extra credit on anything that has to do with history. Take him and you will never regret it! Lots of quizzes but only 2 tests midterm and final and only 3 papers.
Mr. Wade is very passionate about history which makes him an excellent history teacher. I went into his class completely uninterested in history, but I found myself looking forward to his class throughout the semester. The assignments are simple. He offers extra credit. His tests are based directly off of the quizzes. If you need HIS121, take him.
He is fantastic. i recommend taking him. if you read and pay attention you will get an A. super funny and laid back.
He was really nice. He is uses a lot of notes, but they are not very consistent. He jumps around a lot ad goes in to rants.
One of the nicest proffessors at TCC. He cares about your grades and loves what he does which makes him interesting. I encourage everyone to take him.
he is a good teacher. very easy, very laid back. but if you are a christian or have a belief in God i don't recommend taking him. he is very openly against it and will bash it whenever he gets a chance.
Professor Wade was awesome. I wish he taught another course because I would sign up in a heartbeat! DB post once a week, 15 question open book quizzes each week,2 tests and Primary Source Essays. He is easy to contact and exudes passion in his online teachings. He gives a lot of extra credit as well.
Professor Wade is such a great, NICE professor. He is very into helping his students and making sure they know the material. Take him!!
Mr. Wade loves history. When it comes to staying on topic in class, its hard for him. I stopped taking notes my second class or else my hand would fall off and the topics are so jumbled I cant study them. I got A's on my tests from reading about the time period in the book and recalling somewhat of what he said in class. Only 2 papers. Easy tests!
He loves history, as he should being a history professor. He does often get off topic and isn't the most organized person. I dropped out of two previous history classes before taking him... and I averaged a B the whole semester. As long as you study, you will be fine (does give study terms). Taking him again for 122.
Mr. Wade definitely meets the expectations of what you are looking for if you want to pass or get an easy A. He is somewhat hard to keep up with in his notes, but he is straightforward. He is not big on dates. His information is simple and the tests are very easy. He gives a huge amount of extra credit.
Mr. Wade is a great history teacher. He loves what he teaches, which is a plus for a professor, and he is always there to help his students if they have any questions regarding anything relating to history. He covers the entire textbook in class, but if you need it for yourself to look at then get it. Overall, an excellent history teacher.
Fantastic professor. Mr. Wade's enthusiasm is expressed by much of his teaching style. You will wish you could go to this class more and you will want all of your teachers to be like him. This was the most interesting class I took all semester.
Took his history course. Professor Wade made the subject interesting. He helped out with any questions, on homework, and overall he is compassionate about his history. He will give you solid answers for solid questions. I enjoyed his teaching style and I will be taking another history class with Professor Wade this fall.
Best professor i've ever had. very funny, sometimes do papers but overall he's very easy and laid back. doesn't care if you sit on your phone or anything
best professor ever. very easy
As long as you take notes & read the chapters, you should pass for sure. His lectures last the full time of the class but he's clear & easy to follow. He goes off of a PowerPoint for reference & will post it on blackboard for you to print out. You will use the books, so buy them!
Pr. Wade made learning history so much fun. He always has really cool facts, and makes sure to point out interesting key points in each time period. He is very clear about his grading system, and will give you many chances for extra credit should you need it.
Beginning of the semester was looking forward to taking this class, however if you're taking this class online while taking 3 other classes.. I wouldn't recommend taking this class with this professor. This class needs full attention, and it's insane amount of reading, overall not a fan.
you will have to teach yourself. put some effort into the writing assignments and study the vocabulary list he gives you for tests and he's an easy a.
Terrible. Highly unorganized. Often late for class. Lectures are filled with tangents & kindergarten chicken scratch on a white board. minimal feed back to students & is unfair to those who put forth an effort into passing his tests. Majority of the class bombed a test but were allowed to retake the same test for full credit. I have learned nothing
Grading is terrible, marks of points for outrageous reasons. Disappointed.
Mr. Wade is amazing! If I needed another history credit I would take him again. No quizzes or exam just papers due on time. You are given plenty of time to complete.
Mr. Wade is knowledgeable in history. For an online class, I learned more than I ever learned in history. He is a solid professor. Be prepared to submit mini essays every week. The grading criteria is very clear. Once you get in the groove of things it becomes pretty easy. He is very quick to respond to emails. I recommend him if you enjoy writing.
Worst teacher I have had in college so far. All he does is ask questions and get no reply. I have yet to learn one thing from this man. Get ready to teach yourself 50 page chapters every week with 0 help from your own teacher. Everyone keeps saying he is a nice guy. Well I don't care about nice, I care about learning
The only time I learn anything is from completing the study guides. Each study guide has over 40 words and two essays. half of those terms are NOT on the exam and he gives the study guide the week before exam, the only things graded in his class are 3 exams and group project. He is really nice, but he makes history boring.
Very chill and often gives modern real world examples to relate back to the material. He's very lenient with students and if they need time for an essay or assignment as long as you give a valid reason. He's late to class sometimes, but only by few minutes. Lets students record his voice in class for notes.
Good choice. Had him for both American history classes. He is very involved with his online class. However, be prepared for a good deal of writing. 3 papers, one final project ( which is a paper, PowerPoint, and lesson plan) 4 quizzes, and 4 (lengthy) discussion boards. This class IS time consuming so be prepared! However, easy A if you put in time
I took Professor Wades class in Western History & US History. I really enjoyed his lectures, hes VERY PASSIONATE, he opened my mind up to more than just political ideology but looks at the social & economic conditions. His tests are challenging, you need to Study. Regarding homework, there is a group projects and weekly hand in assignments.
Hands down the best History Teacher at TCC. I took him for both 121 and 122. I would retake him again! Easy A! If you need to take United States History I would Highly recommend him!
If your looking to take another English class this is the course for you. However, if you hate writing that's all this class is, your midterm and final are both 4 page essays as well as a writing assignment every other week and two more papers on top of that.
Professor Wade is a nice person. There were 8 essays all throught the semester (3 pages each). 3 of them are a part of each the 3 exams. Exams are same as the test reviews he gives. All essays will require books from that class. No cumulative test and quizzes are counted as extra credit. Youll need to present once.
I took him for HIS122 in the Spring of 2019. He's an awesome professor as far as making sure you know what you need to know and he's not a tough grader unless you neglect his directions. This class involves A LOT of writing. Tests that require at least a 3 page paper and 5-6 writing assignments scattered throughout the semester.
He is hard to reach and often requires more than one message to get his attention. Slow to upload study guides but other than that the class is straight toward.
I took his online HIS 122 class and was very impressed with his teaching . He sent out clear announcements each week with what to do and when it is due. All instruction was very easy to understand, he used a FREE online textbook, and all quizzes were open book. Would definitely take his class again because everything was very straight forward.
Scott Wade is an awesome professor! I had him this semester and last semester, and during this semester was the whole Coronavirus situation, so it was a stressful time. During both semesters he kept us super informed. Hes really nice, funny, and his class is easy to pass. Just do your work and you should have no problem getting an A!
Professor Wade is truly a great teacher! His lectures were interesting and the group project he assigned was really fun. I learned a LOT in this class and was very happy with the balance of work, quizzes, exams and lectures.
Mr. Wade is a good teacher. It took me time to get in a rhythm, but I would take him again. Don't buy a textbook, he uses one that's free online. He alternates every other week DB or Reading Report. The work is not hard but you have to read to pass. One big project at the end, its NOT hard, but it has a lot of parts. I was able to do it in a week.
Professor Wade took over Wayne Grimsley's class for summer 2021. This was a class you had to work for since the discussion boards had to be 7 paragraphs long; but other than that, the reading quizzes were easy as long if you read. This is a class you have to work for though since everything was based on the chapter readings.
The textbook is online for his class and is used for readings. The reading is not a lot and he is not a harsh grader so as long as you know enough about the topic you should be fine. Would take his class again.
Spring 21' Student here, Scotty Wade is an amazing professor. He is very nice, he grades papers very generously and the quizzes are all low-hanging fruit. Plus, there is no final exam. He also loves it when students participate by answering questions asked in Zoom, or if you can throw additional knowledge on a subject. Very cool dude, choose Wade.
Professor Wade gave great feedback with papers in a tactful way, if I missed something he brought it up, but still graded fairly. Text is online, you dont have to purchase. This online course was straight forward, it was a lot of reading, consisted of discussion posts and papers e/o week, four quizzes and no tests. Read and its an easy A!
A discussion every week of like 200 words I think and one response, 4 quizzes, and 4 reading responses of 500 words. One paper. Super easy class. Had him for his 111 and it was the same.
He is an amazing professor. Scott is super nice and easy on grading. He is very flexible just communicate with him and he will accommodate with you . All of his quizzes and assignments are open book. He also loves when students answer questions in Zoom or adds information about the topics. Bonus, no final exam. Awesome prof choose Scott Wade
Wade was really good and he made classes easy yet fun the work can be annoying but he gives feedback if you turn it in early so u can edit it and he takes late work
Scott Wade is a fantastic professor, his class is effortless. There is work involved but not much at all. I would definitely take him again.
Professor Wade is amazing! I have always loved history classes but he somehow made me love learning about history even more than I already did. Very fair grader and provided feedback on almost everything. The textbook he uses is also an open resource (Free).
Got constantly off topic, very slow lectures, definitely do your readings and watch videos because he acts like a review. good person, i wouldnt recommend taking his class though, especially if youre paying for this class. its easy enough content though! not a lot of homework besides reading.
I took an online virtual class and it was pretty straightforward. Most assignments are from the textbook, which is free. Assignments are short essays and DBs. Quizzes are online and pretty easy. As long as you read the textbook, you'll get an A.
He was a very good teacher. Went by syllabus and didn't give a ton of assignments. Textbook was online so you don't have to pay for one.
Mr. Wade is a good history professor. He doesn't give too many assignments, and there is good feedback for the big ones. Textbook is free and online.
Professor Wade is a great professor. If you pay attention to his lectures, you'll pass the class. The textbook is online, so you don't need to buy one.
Took an online summer class. Provides a free, online textbook. Easy weekly discussions & quizzes. Since I took it in the summer, info had to be cramped together (which is to be expected) but he's a very generous grader. The thing that tripped me up was the 2 pg paper assigned every week. But that's cause I took other classes & had ecs so ymmv.
Professor Wade is good at teaching History. Assignments were pretty easy, although you will have to type up a few papers.
Great teacher!! Have taken for HIS 121 and 122. Gives few assignments and discussion posts will make or break your grade. Overall really easy to do the work and answer questions with replies a good balance for a heavy workload semester. Book is provided in the course no book is required to purchase.
Mr. Wade is one of the best professors I've ever had. He rarely gives out homework. There's a few assignments throughout the semester & he does assign a group presentation, but those are super easy & it's very hard to fail the class. He usually talks through the entire lecture, but if you take notes, you'll be just fine.10/10 would recommend.
Professor Wade was a great teacher. His assignments were not too hard. Be prepared to do a bit of writing. He was very nice.
I had professor Scott Wade this semester and I would recommend. I feel as he understands that most students have work and other actives in their life to attend and take care of and he gave a good amount work. I would say there is a lot of writing and essays. He was kind and awesome.
Scott is a nice guy, very chill professor. He will hold you accountable if he feels you cheated on an assignment. I wrote a paper for him online and he claimed that I used AI for my paper. There wasnt a way to prove I wrote it without AI, so he didn't give me an A. (I didn't use AI) Tests are simple, reading isn't hard, but be careful with writing.
Do not take his class if you have obligations outside of school. Very easy to fall behind and become overwhelmed. I had a lot going on, but he was understanding in giving me extensions. So much material you have to learn, be prepared to read a lot. There is a lot of assignments and detailed grading rubric. Critical grader.
Although there was a lot of reading. I loved it way better than reading about English. Professor Wade gave amazing feedback. Quiz's are open book.
Overall, Professor Wade was wonderful. You can tell he is passionate and knowledgeable about history, which made me excited to learn. He is a caring and kind person and gives out extensions on late work as long as you give him a heads up. He grades fairly, but be sure to follow his rubric. I would recommend anyone take him for history courses!
Scott Wade is a chill professor. The class has a lot of reading, but quizzes are open-book. Attendance is mandatory, but the workload is manageable. Unstuck AI was a handy study tool alongside the free online textbook.
Professor Wade is a super chill guy, but he's more old school when it comes to technology. Zero tolerance on AI written work but he'll give you a chance to redo it. There is one 15 minute slides group presentation. There were probably less than 10 easy assignments and his class is just a lecture most days. I took him twice and had no problems.
Mr. Wade is one of the best online teachers I have ever had, He is present and actually reads through everything and gives feedback. he fixed the one thing I hated about having teachers online he responds quickly and is there when you need him. He fixed any concerns I had with assignments and was very kind. 10/10 would take again!
Do not and I repeat do not use AI when writing your papers. Not even parts of it. It will get flagged and you will get a Zero.He actually prefers to see human errors and is not strict on grammatical errors. You will be able to get away with a lot. Stick to the material in the text only and you will be fine.
