He's a really good teacher. He lets you do essay draft before you turn them in. He corrects your essay and if you want to get a good grade, then you can improve them.

this is the class to take if you decide to take critical thinking. he'll get you screaming out of your seat when discussions are involved. just mainly shorts stories and essays. not a problem.

Mr Wilson is the best! He really loves the subject that he teaches. I changed my major to English because of him. I would highly recommend him if English is your favorite subject or not.

Mr. Wilson is a cool guy. It's rare nowadays to step into an English class and not get intimidated by a grumpy and difficult instructor. Wilson is NOT one of those instructors. If you're careful with your grammar and try to write with details using your imagination, then an A is well within reach.

as long as you do your work (with very vew grammer problems and frag & run ons) then, you'll be ok. he expects english 1a work. do all the work and you'll be fine. i got a B and i tried super hard..but i guess because i missed one assignment made my grade kinda go down.

The best teacher ever...Very understanding and willing to help. Pretty picky grader so watch your grammer. Does not take attendence, doesn't care if you come in late. No in class assignment and if you have one you don't need to turn it in. Recommended to all. Very fun teacher never grumpy!

He is AWESOME!!! He requires minimal work and short stories to read for hmwk. He goes over the stories in class and explains them in depth. I've never been a fan of English, but he makes everything extremely clear and understandable. HE IS A GREAT TEACHER!

Very good teacher. Makes class very interesting and fun. There are about 7 essays total. 4 out of class and 2 inclass essay. All of which is not bad. He is not a tough grader on your essays. I recommend you take him for English 1B it will be worth your time.

Mr. Wilson is THE BEST English Prof on campus! A professor of his caliber should be teaching at Harvard or Yale, (IMOHO. I learned alot from both of his classes, and as a result am doing very well in other classes that require papers and other written assignments. Thanks for the prep Mr. Wilson!

I've had him for English 1A, 1B, and 1C. He's a great professor. It doesn't feel like he's lecturing to us, just discussing things or talking to us like normal. Really laid-back class and doesn't waste his time. He has a great sense of humor and will answer any questions you ask him. Great professor!

He is the worst English teacher I've ever had. He thinks the class is hard, but you can earn an A without reading anything. If you participate in class and turn in your essays on time, you'll have nothing to worry about. If you want to learn something, take a different teacher. If you want an easy A without doing work, take Wilson.

Easist class I ever took. Don't buy the books, u don't really need them. He reads the short stories out loud and analyzes them for u. U're allowed to write about any story in the textbook. 4 take-home essays, 2 or in-class and one final. No research paper. He doesn't take attendance so just show up to turn in the paper and for the in-class essays

This is the easiest Eng1B class ever. NO PRESENTATIONS! Need book to read & do 4x out-of-class essays. 3x in-class-essay which are practice for final exam. Don't really need to show up to class but remember to show up to class to turn in your essays! You get to watch movies towards the end of the semester. Class gets full very fast!!

I took this professor a few summers back and we was extremely helpful... He enjoys teaching and choses stories to read out loud which are some what touching.. I really don't like english classes but I enjoyed his.

Work for the class includes 4 out of class essays, 3 in class essays, and the final. Prof. Wilson is a nice and easy going teacher. I definitely recommend anyone that needs to take an English class to take his class.

Oh,Mr. Wilson is my favorite teacher at EVC. He's very nice and always willing to help students. Attendence is not mandatory, but you need to be in class to receive class participation points. I actually like English 1B after I had the class. Definitely, recommend to take him for English classes.

Great teacher! Just finished summer session with him and he made it easy to come 4 nights a week for 6 weeks! Always gave personal & funny stories. Nice guy, told me exactly what to do on final to get a decent grade. Got a B. Wish I would have enrolled in his Eng 1C class for Fall but his classes are full!!!

Mr. Wilson is by far the best teacher I have had at EVC. He is always available to assist students after class. Textbook and attendance are required. He has prepared me very well to succeed in English 01C.

One of the best English class I ever took. Wilson's class is very simple his homework is just to read a short story or poem then come to class to participate for points. only 4 out of class essays and 3 in class essay exam which will prepare you for the actual final exam. overall its a fun environment class. order the book online its cheaper.

The best English teacher I have ever had. He's really challenges you as writer. Keep up with the reading cause he might randomly quiz the class if students are not engaging in the class discussion.

Very organized, he will hand you guide lines and examples for out of class essay which helps a lot(and no other teachers have done this so far), never felt so comfortable writing a 4+ pages essay. His lecture is really helpful too. BTW, English is my second language.

He is genuinely pleasant and caring: get to know him personally. To pass--just write good essays and read. He isn't arduous or a tough grader. Lastly, I love his narration of the poems; he was spectacular. In criticism, I didn't really learn any mind-blowing facts in his class.

I loved this teacher. he's awesome, he makes the classes very interesting but putting his own input about the poem in a way that you can laugh about it. his grading style is easy too. since its English 1B he focuses on the actual context of your paper and doesn't look for spelling or grammar mistakes like in English 1A.

One of the best teachers at EVC. He's hilarious, and the readings are really touching. He goes off topic sometimes, but it's never boring. Expect to read, because of you don't he'll throw a pop quiz. Theres only 4 essays to do, and he prepares you for the exam. He really loves his job and cares for his students.

Professor Wilson is definitely a wise and inspirational man. Of course, there were many essays and papers for this class; however, it was manageable. In addition, taking this class will prepare you for the writing exam that you will take later on. Towards the end of this course, you will hopefully have a new appreciation for reading and writing.

I love Professor Wilson!! He gives awesome lectures, tells funny stories, and speaks his mind about current events. I love a professor who isn't afraid to cuss, although he doesn't do it often. Only when the mood strikes, haha! Read a lot but all the stories were great.

What more I can say, Prof Scott is awesome. It's just kind of regret because I slack off into his class and its too late when I realize that he is so good :) Hope I'll pass

He's a great professor that assigns 3-4 in class and out of class essays with a total of at least 8 essays. The essays aren't that hard considering how he's a lenient grader! He's awesome since he would return our essays in a timely manner and would always be happy to help his students whenever we had a question!

Wilson is not a tough grader, I think there is at least 3 or 4 essays out of class and 3 in class essays. I find his lectures interesting as well. If you can, take English with him!

I took both 1A and 1B course with him, and will take 1C also. Was given 3 in class essays and 4 out class this semester; he will provide handouts on how to write them. He gives good advice and has good sense of humor, also not really a touch grader.

There isn't much homework assigned other than a couple of essays (about 3-4), as well as a few in-class essays. For English 1A he assigns an 8 page research paper but gives you more than enough time. There are no tests or quizzes, he also gives really good feedback and is willing to help you on whatever you have trouble with. Overall, easy class.

I took English 1A and 1B with Prof. Scott, so I decided to take him again for 1C. He's a really cool, funny professor. There are writing a couple writing assignments and one presentation for 1C, but they are doable and easy. Follow the guidlines of the assignments and you should be able to get an A. One of the best English professors I've had.

By far the coolest teacher at the school. He shares personal experiences with the class that tie into the lecture/lesson plan, he can be very funny. Lectures quite a bit but the lectures aren't boring. You're given 4 take home papers to do and they're very easy if you follow his criteria and read! He cares a lot about his students. Extremely fair.

He's a good teacher who will help nourish your writing ability. It's easy to get an A by just doing the work. He's a lenient grader which relieves our stress. I highly recommend if you struggle with English.

Excellent teacher. Gives great feedback on papers. I recommend showing up to class during the beginning of the semester, lots of in class essays for the first couple weeks, but after that you should be fine with missing one class every 2 weeks.

A highly recommended teacher at EVC. Mr Wilson is a flexible teacher that wants what is best for his students to pass and quickly transfer out of EVC. Class often ends early and expect in class essays often. All essays were quickly graded and given back the next meeting day. Please take Mr. Wilson if you're looking for an easy English class!

Professor Wilson is an awesome teacher. If you've already taken English 1A and 1B then you already know how to write. He gives you handouts with exact instructions on how to write and essay. You write 3 essays, 1 research paper, one group presentation. His tests are open notes and open book. You can't possible do bad in class.

Professor Wilson is awesome! His essays are not too difficult. 4 in class and 4 out of class. He does his very best to help you. He's very approachable and cares about his students. Answers any questions you may have. Lectures are not boring, keeps his class insterested, very clear, easy going. I definitely recommend him to anyone.

Professor Wilson is GREAT: I took him for all ENGL 1A/B/C - his stories are very inspirational - gives great advice - very understanding (when it comes to grading, too) - listens to all of your participations (yes, he counts them for points) - helps you improve your writing bit by bit - gives pop quizzes if no one in the class did their reading

He does give quite a bit of work compared to other instructors I've heard about (especially the online instructors at SJCC). 3-4 in class essays, 3-4 out of class, 1 research paper and/or 1 department final. No dept final for 1C. All those essays will sharpen up your writings (since he gives a lot of good feedbacks to help you improve).

Only take his class if you feel you're ready for the challenge. All the essays will push your limits and test your writing skills. In the end, it's all worth it. I took the WST for SJSU once and passed with an 8. I came to his class in 1A not knowing how to write, and he really helped me until the end of 1C. He's a very inspiring professor!

Great English professor, makes hilarious jokes and stories. Grading is clear and papers are straight forward. Make sure you turn them in on time. No one likes grading late papers. One of the best English professors i have ever taken.

I took Prof Wilson's Monday night class. The class environment was very chill and even though participation is recommended, it's not required. We summarized 1 article, analyzed 2 articles, wrote 1 research paper, and was assigned 1 group project to specifically talk about issues in California. The workload isn't bad - just do the work he gives you.

Great lecturer and very interesting to listen to. Funny too. Don't ever mess up on a single assignment if you want an A, because there are very few of them. He does not help you with writing papers b/c you should already be good at writing at this point. Basically impossible to contact (he sucks at technology) unless you go to his office hours.

Super quick feedback is really helpful for students to adjust or enrich their writing skills. Lectures were so interesting to listen. I really recommend Professor Wilson for English 1B. I will take 1C in next semester.

He's super funny; I don't remember a single boring class. He grades only by the few papers he assigns and the tests he gives, but I think he's a fairly easy grader. He just doesn't give any feedback. If you want to contact him using technology, good luck. Overall just a very enjoyable class if you put in the effort. Easy and fun A.

The professor is a nice man, he talks a lot. There were like 7 assignments total in the class. 3 in-class exams, which I could not get an A on, always B's but that is ok. I would take his classes again if needed. Not too demanding.

Hes definitely my favorite English teacher. He is a fair grader and will give you pointers if youre struggling. Yes there are papers due every couple weeks but it wasnt too difficult. There arent any tests or quizzes. Highly recommend him!

My first review is definitely incorrect as far as his rating from me! Mr. Wilson is awesome spectacular educator! He is honest and explains the assignments clearly. All the other specifics was correct.

Nice and easygoing. Need to participate for points which will also help raise your grade by the end of semester if you don't do well in essays. The rest of your grade is dependent on 3 exam essays, 4 out of class essays, and a Final essay. Read a few stories/works before class and discuss/answer some questions. He gives great, sincere commentary.

I enjoyed being in Professor Wilson's class. Be sure to participate in class discussions about the assigned readings. He will let you watch the movie instead of reading the book for some stories. He provides an outline for in-class timed essays which was very helpful to prepare for the final essay. He's a kind, genuine man who is a fair grader.

Class can be boring, reading literature the whole time with no homework assigned, just a couple of out of papers due which we are given 2-3 weeks to do. A couple timed exams that do not need to go to class can do from anywhere and can leave after. Class is very easy towards the end of the year so we can focus on other classes. Very nice and loving

Professor Wilsons English 1B class has readings every week. Class is pretty relaxed and is more of a discussion than a lecture. Assignments are essays in the 1st half of the semester but Professor Wilson will start to reduce the amount of work towards the end to have time for students to balance other classes. He has a lot of valuable input.

I took professor Wilson during the summer of 2022. He is a very caring and kind professor. In his class, books are mandatory, however, you can find the pdf versions and read them online. If there are any questions about the novels or short stories he is available after class and you can discuss them with him.

This professor gives so many essays. Every week 1 week in class essay and the second week in online this is every week until the end of the semester.

Really cool and understanding professor who knew a lot about what he was teaching and how to teach it. Made topics easy to understand and not much reading.

I love this teacher!! He is very caring and the assignments are quite easy. As a human being he is amazing!! He tends to get off subject with discussion but I didn't mind, I actually learned new things from those off topics! I will definitely look for him when choosing my other classes for english!!

Prof. Wilson is by far the best English professor I've had. He genuinely cares about what he teaches, he's funny, & grades amazingly fast. Show up with you're homework done and you're set. If you don't do your homework beware of pop quizzes. The only thing I would suggest (this is more for him if he reads this) is giving more feedback when grading.

Professor Wilson's ENG001B class is pretty easy, with manageable essays and helpful commentary from the professor. Attendance is mandatory, but the workload is light. Using Unstuckstudy and the free textbook pdf can make studying a breeze.

he's a great English professor if you want a class to focus on argumentative essays and in-class discussions on morals. you should already be good at writing as you learn to apply extra concepts to your essays.

Prof Green is a good English teacher, and he spaces out the workload to give you enough time to focus on other classes near the end of the semester. He doesn't always give feedback on essays, and is a bit of a tough grader. Lectures can be a little boring but he's passionate about teaching, and teaches good skills for writing better essays.
