This is basic mathematics, and although you may not be able to choose him, he is an AWESOME teacher. Very leniant, very imformative, and class is always fun. Even though the material is boring, he's a fun guy, and you'll enjoy the class.
This guy has the patience of a saint! Most profs would blow up at the stupid stuff some of the idiots in his class say but he keeps his cool. On the down side, he makes easy problems seem difficult by taking too many steps. He wants you to understand the way things work, but keep in mind not everyone is a math or science major.
get teacher, so understanding and helpful..definitely recommend him
he is a really sweet guy who will take the time to help anyone who speaks up in class.
He's great at breaking down things. Patient as heck. And totally hot. Really.
SEAN, WHERE YOU AT?! Great teacher, excellent at breaking stuff down so even idiots like me can make an A. Wish I had this guy for the second half of this course. If you have trouble with math then PLEASE take this guy if you can find him. You will be doing your academic future a favor!
He is a wonderful professor, very helpful and very energetic.
Awesome guy. I hate math but he made it (somewhat) enjoyable. Easy tests plus you get a one-sided "facts sheet" to have during the test. Gives a review and takes the ?'s straight from it. review shrunk down to fit facts sheet + calculator + homework & attendence + great professor= EASY A (attendence not mandatory though)
THE BEST PROF AT UTSA. I hate math, I can't do it, and I've been dreading taking this class for 3 years. As long as you go to class and show him that you're trying to learn the material, seek out extra help and do the work, he will help you out. I highly recommend taking this Prof if you have trouble in math and need to pass College Algebra.
even thoough he explains in detail he does skips steps and expects you to know how he got their. if he doesn't tell you you better ask or their goes the help of that example and that days lesson.
very unclear, and manyh times contradicts what the text says. Will never take him again, if he was the last prof. left for my degree, I will gladly wait till the next semester. I prefer somoene who will teach somewhat close to the text, and not single people out.
Sean is a really cool, young professor. He is always there to help you and is very fair. Homework is an easy 100, he gives you review for the tests. I was doing really bad in the class, i went to see him during his office hours for extra help and i got a B.
Great teacher, he deffinetly worked harder in this class than anyone else. Will go out of his way to help you 24/7, all you have to do is call him. Really wish he taught Cal 2 instead of Dunez.
HE is a very patetic professor. His standards of education are to high he expect everybody to understand him. His very confusing explain little execive work assignments find another option.
He's a good, basic professor. His lectures are clear and straight from the book. He's approachable and helpful. He practically begs the students to go to his office hours so that he can help us with the material. There isn't much wiggle room though: 4 tests, homework and that's it. Should you screw up on a test or two, just drop.
This teacher is horrible..I should have stuck with Travis. The test are ridiculous. I emailed him several times through UTSA email, his personal email, and on WebCt and I never rcvd a response. He doesnt explain things well. It seems that enjoys teaching other math classes just not classes pertaining to Interdisciplinary Studies. I recommend Travis..NO DOUBT
Don't take him if you want to have a life.He gives READING quizzes over MATH material. That should be incentive enough not to sign up for his class. He makes everything 10x harder than it has to be. If you aren't good at math to begin with you will fail this course.Got an A in 1153 and I dropped THIS course within the first week-AVOID at all costs
First of all the quizzes he gave were only 5% of your grade and midway through the semester he let you use your book. He also let us use a cheat sheet on the tests. He takes most of the problems from the homework and chapter tests from the book. He encourages people to ask questions from the homework. I made an A in the class.
ugh ...better know all the theorms if you take him
He is one of the BEST math professors I've ever had. He expects COLLEGE students which means being RESPONSIBLE for reading, homework, and questions. You WILL learn more from him than any other professor. I promise you, if you put in GENUINE hard work, you will get an A, no doubt. If you expect to be babied with "reviews" go back to high school.
Is it not a coincidence that the bad complaints are from students from MAT 1163? First of all, this is totally different from Cal I & Cal II. Although it's a class for TEACHERS, it does not mean it's a class on how to be a TEACHER. It's about looking deeper into math & understanding it so that when you teach others, you're not clueless. Hard work=A
awesome prof! literally, if you just do the homework (i mean actually DO the homework, not copy the answers from the back) & come to class daily, easy A! whenever you need help, go to his office. super helpful!
Beatty is a young guy and I?d say he?s above average. I took Calculus in high school so it was mainly just a review of material I already knew. He definitely knows his stuff, but is kind of socially awkward and struggles with presenting the stuff in a concrete way. HW is online, and he drops your lowest test grade.
CAL I Class, just straight lecture with taking notes, four test (drops the lowest one) and a cumlitive final, with online homework that is only like 5 percent. If you took Cal in high school, this stuff should be very easy. I agree that he can be akward at times, and even downright rude at some points, but he is a good teacher.
He knows his math! Extremely helpful during office hours. Does not take a liking to unintelligent questions (despite what grade school teachers tell you, there is such a thing called a stupid question!). Test problems are taken from problems worked out in class and homework. He's extremely fair. TAKE HIM.
Probably the best math teacher I've ever had. Extremely helpful and will do plenty of examples for clarity. Took him over the summer and thought I was going to bomb the class. Tests are short and sweet and if you study you'll do fine. I highly recommend taking him if you can. I wish I could take him for Cal II, but doesn't fit my schedule.
AWESOME professor, you need to put alot of urself to do good in his class, but if you do, you will learn everything you need to know from that class, attendacne not mandatory, but go if you want to do good, test wont be too hard if you go to all his classes
Pretty top notch professor, lectures are pretty straight forward, exams are pretty reasonable, and he's willing to help his students. I really enjoyed this class. Definitely worth taking.
He knows his stuff. Cal2 is just a tough class. He will work with you. 4 tests and a final. Tests are from examples done in class. Definitely need prior knowledge as he will skip steps while showing you new stuff.
DO NOT take him if you can help it. he gets lost during his lectures and ends up telling you how to do problems incorrectly. the information is not diffficult and the book is more helpful than he is.
Definitely reccommend if you stuggle with math. He's one of the most helpful professors I've had. Always willing to explain material. Tests were a little difficult, not an easy A, but possible. He does mess up problems sometimes, but at least he does the work on the spot rather than just copying from notes or the book like other teachers do.
Bio-Calculus takes a little getting use to... concerning notation. Mr.Beatty was a great lecturer and was always helpful explaining homework problems. The textbook was extremely convoluted and confusing , so class attendence is highly recommended. If you go to class and do the homework, you'll make a good grade.
Best math professor I have ever had. I learned more math in one semester with him than I have all my life. Definitely enjoyed having his Cal 2 class.
Wrote/quoted everything from the chapters. When short of time, told to highlight 'n' underline in the textbook. Zipped through meaty parts of Vector Calculus like Surface Area/Integrals, Conservative Fields, Green's theorem, etc. in less than 15 minutes (just highlight). Was good before Exam 1; got worst in teaching as sect. got more advanced.
Was good at the beginning but towards the end of the semester admitted that he was overwhelmed by the number of classes he was teaching. Exams were a combination of multiple choice and take-home written. Truthfully, the textbook plus asking question on the Internet were more helpful than his lecture. I don't think he's bad, just overworked.
If you want to learn Calculus III, take any other teacher except this one! Teaches 8+ classes in NVC and UTSA; takes out his stress on class!!! Goes over textbook's paragraphs and examples; don't ask him anything outside of the scope of the book. His answer to everything 'I don't know' and his MC Qs. may have wrong answers, so watch out on exams.
I took Cal 3 with him and he made it SO easy. Probably the easiest math class I have ever taken. He made everything so understandable. He rushed through the last bit, which I never fully understood, but he had also covered extra material. Very reasonable and very helpful. I would jump at a chance to take him for another class.
I really enjoyed having him as a professor. He explains concepts clearly, does plenty of examples, and goes over homework questions in class. Homework was helpful, but it wasn't turned in. Near the end the concepts felt a little rushed, but it was still easily understood. Will take again if possible.
If you are able to learn math with the teacher pointing at the overhead instead of working out problems, you've found the right class. He comes to class not prepared to teach and reverts to "any questions" as part of his teaching strategy. When he works out problems, he skips steps and loses the class. If you like pain, take Cal I with Beatty.
Got a B my second time through Cal 3. My first prof was good but didn't seem to enthralled with teaching again (had been absent from teaching for 15 years), but Prof. Beatty seems to enjoy his work. He goes over as many questions as is necessary, and is in his office on time.
Took him for Cal for Bio and he is very understanding of 'our' mindset. He knows we are not math majors and tries his very best to teach to reluctant students... and might I say lazy students... some people really do try and take advantage and I think any professor would eventually tire of that. He's very approachable and nice. Kinda cute too.
Took professor Sean B. for BioCalc, he is WAY better than other bioCalc professors (since this is the 3rd time i took this class) Professor B is very helpful during class and office hrs... Uses formula sheet during tests, and when everybody did REALLY BAD at a test he gave it back for take home correction. Also explains HW during class.
Overall good teacher, but can be arrogant sometimes. I took him on summer 2, the load work was heavy but i managed to get an A. Youtube helped tons, made things more clear. There 2 tests and a final, he rarely gives handout test reviews but if he does its basically the same as the test. Definitely take this guy if you're good at math.
hes a nice guy, but dont expect a handout. He doesnt take the Hmwk for a grade and gives out quizes every section. The tests are really hard and nothing like the homework but he sometimes curves if the students complain enough. I took him for the summer.
Great teacher! He teaches with amazing clarity. Very helpful during his office hours. He want you to succeed! His exams are difficulty but do able with studying and class attendance. Wants you to think outside the box. He allows a graphing calculator and a note card for his tests.
One of the best math teachers I have had. He actually explains material, doesn't rush, goes over multiple types of problems in a single concept, and is very nice about answering questions. Seems to like his job. Very calm and organized in his lectures. His calm voice put my friend to sleep every class, but I stayed awake and did pretty well
Best teacher ever. Thorough, entertaining, insightful, and brilliant. His understanding of math is a little daunting.
He knows how to teach math. Just know that he is grumpy sometimes and will occasionally make you look stupid if you ask a question. If you can ignore that, and get passed his sarcasm, he is a great teacher and a very safe bet.
His exams are very thorough but understand that they are not the "easy" problems he gives out in his notes. He expects you to take the time to do the homework and is always available if you have any questions. Definitely not a course to put on the back burner because it will definitely show during his tests. Oh & the chili pepper is well deserved!!
My favorite professor at UTSA. He is very patient, and presents concepts in a very clear and concise manner. Tests were very reasonable, challenging but doable with adequate studying. He typically posted study guides before the exams, which was quite helpful. Overall, just an awesome math professor. Take him if you can.
VERY AWESOME <3
One of my favorite math teachers at UTSA. Very clear and concise, hes way of teaching is very refreshing. Just attend class and study and you will get a A. Btw can anyone post the name of the website he uses to teach?
My favorite professor thus far in college. Cal 2 itself is a difficult class but he made the material fairly easy to understand. Tests were challenging but there were no real surprises on them, and he was always willing to take time to help students. Very smart guy that I would recommend to everyone, especially those who enjoy math.
Awesome teacher. Clear, straight to the point, provides plenty of examples, and gives an opportunity every class for students to ask questions about the homework. Tests are pretty difficult, but do-able with 2-3 hours of studying a day. He's very helpful during his office hours, and is willing to compromise with students.
I learned more from him in one summer semester than my whole college math career! He is so knowledgeable in math and he presents the information so clear! Tests were challenging but if you did your homework and practiced a bit they weren't so bad! Pulled off an A in his class :)
Taught well in class but his tests were pretty tricky. I got an A on most of the homeworks but F's and D's on the exams. I think he was a good teacher but was way too hard on his tests. For instance, it wasnt enough that you knew the material, you had to be able to manipulate it in not so obivious ways. Good teacher, but challenging
Great professor! His lectures were very easy to understand. He was very generous in giving us extra credit opportunities to boost our grades. Tests were difficult but manageable. He did allow us to have an index card with formulas during tests though. He's just a great professor overall. I'm glad I took him for Calculus 3. :D
I really enjoyed taking calculus for biosciences with him. He's so helpful and won't move on in the material until he answers every question the students have. He is passionate about math, which is so wonderful to see in a professor.
Took Beatty during a 5 week summer course and learned a lot by attending classes. I missed one lecture but he helped me out when I visited during office hrs. Very smart, helpful, and answers every question. Don't expect an easy A, but with hard work, it can be pulled off. Ask questions and visit office hrs. Oh and he's very nice to look at, too.
I don't recommend Professor Beatty he is unclear and gets easily confused in lectures. Doesn't explain well and doesn't take time to review for exams. Spends most class time discussing one problem.Material given doesn't prepare you for the exam. Overall NOT a good professor he struggles to get point across.
Very helpful during office hours. In order to succeed in the class, you must do your homework. Tests are hard but if you do the homework you'll be fine. Highly recommend if you are a math or engineering major. Very clear in explaining and really shows his passion for math.
Professor Beatty is the best professor I have ever had. His class notes are clear and he conveys the material effectively. His tests and quizzes are extremely difficult. No calculators. You must work problems in the book, and complete the homework multiple times if you want to get an A. He is a HARD professor, but excellent.
If you are excellent, and I mean FLAWLESS, at CAL then you will be okay but everyone else please be aware. He is extremely difficult. His TA is not helpful what so ever. He is okay at explaining the material but his test are designed for failure. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
quizes and Tests are ridiculous. You're not allowed to use calculators and everything is open ended. copious amounts of homework as well. AVOID if possible
Professor Beatty is definitley a great professor, he is quite difficult but if you study and ask him for help then you can make an A. Definitley one of the younger and nicer teachers i had.
Sean Beatty has definitely been one of my favorite professors this semester! He is very passionate about what he does and is very intelligent. He is also a great guy and very helpful in his office hours! His class is a tough one and you will definitely have to work for your grade.
He kicks you in the teeth, but then pays for your dentures. You leave the class bruised and hurting but looking good for the future. His is tough!!! But he is willing to work with you to ensure you have the knowledge you need for the future.
Lectures great. Passionate in teaching material. There was only 3 tests and a final exam, along with homework, and your recitation. All exams are worth the same. Really helpful during office hours. I got B's on all his tests due to all the partial credit he gives. Do all the homework, you won't regret it. Don't skip, you'll get lost. Would retake.
I took his twice-a-week class, 1 hr 15 mins each lecture. You miss a day, you better hope you have a good friend who takes extraordinary notes. Only 2 exams for our class, finals cumulative. No calculator, no cheat sheet. May give extra credit if the class sweet-talks him into it (you NEED it btw). Homework every day. Study the recitations.
Professors Beattys tests are tough, but if the reviews and practices are done, there should no reason to fail. He explains the topics clearly, and accepts questions at anytime to clarify. Glad to help at office hours.
He's a good teacher. The class is just really hard if you don't get tutored and you will get a bunch of homework and learn more than one section per day. Very tedious.... But, you just have to want it...
I love Prof. Beatty! He is super cool but EXPECT TO WORK HARD IN THIS CLASS. Homework EVERYDAY and if you don't finish it, it piles up especially when an exam is near because he has the tendency of overloading us with homework along with 2 quizzes RIGHT B4 TEST DAY. Also if you really could not finish a quiz or HW, talk to him, he will extend it!
Great teacher but it was super hard. He is down to earth and he is extremely passionate about his teaching. Alot of homework to the point where i was going to pull my hair out. Students say he grades hard, but he could just mark it wrong. This course required alot of self learning as well, so if you aren't willing to put in work you'll fail.
Bad bedside manners, terrible professor. Hard exams. Many of my friends dropped it, and it's not that I have dumb and close minded friends. His teaching method is absurd.
His Lectures are terrible, he has a terrible attitude. Acts like he doesn't want to be there, if he doesn't like you he will single you out during class without even blinking. Relies on you watching YouTube to understand. Only people that helped me were the Tutors. Whatever you do don't take the Math Matters Pivot program.
At least on this class he seems to be more inclined towards the Math majors, giving proofs of several of the concepts which could benefit them, but confuses almost everyone else including me. He is very caring and accessible for asking for help, although he will ask for you to use terms and symbology well. He actually cares that you learn well.
Since in this class there weren't as many Math majors, he was less elaborate on his explanations, which made learning everything a lot easier than in Calculus 1. He gives very good lectures which make the book almost unnecessary and the homework easy to do. He is also very caring and will go over the homework in class if people get stuck.
He's always available during his office hours which he has every day of the week. He sometimes takes too long working out a certain problem, but overall he knows what he's talking about and teaches it very well. He takes questions from anyone from the class.
He is a GREAT professor! Those who need Calculus 3 should definitely take him! Honestly, one of the best professors at UTSA. He is young and very intelligent. His exams were tough, but that is any calculus class. You will need to study and do the homework he assigns. Overall, I liked his class a lot.
He's a pretty good teacher. Never cancels class even if he's feeling sick. He's very determined in trying to help out students and is nice. I would recommend taking his class because you will only fail if you do not show up to the lectures.
I would not recommend Beatty for Calc II. Lots of homework but tests are 10x more challenging than HW problems, AND HW barely counts for overall course grade. His lectures are okay but be prepared to work hard outside of class in order to do well on tests. Tests are EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. I will have to retake course with dif. professor to pass.
This class is SUPER easy. (Had to take it due to problems with my credits. Had taken Cal 1 in HS so this was incredibly easy for me.) Attendance is not mandatory, I only show up for tests. If you personally know you struggle with math, then I suggest not doing what I am doing. He offers extra credit, but I don't know if he will continue that.
I didn't really go to class because attendance isn't mandatory so I just did the online homework and learned the material through that and I did fine. Just be aware that at least for his algebra class he doesn't lat you use a graphing calculator while other algebra professors do. However I still passed just going off my high school math knowledge.
He is available to help you with anything you dont understand at office hours. He is blunt but has your best interests at heart. He makes it hard to fail by leaving homework open a few days after due date for late work for up to a 70. Drops lowest test grade and has a very engaging lecture. You definitely have to speak up if you are having trouble
My opinon of Beatty is weirdly back and forth - he seems to care about his students and tries to help us out but at the same time it felt like his college algebra course was purposefully harder than other professors. Graphing calculators are not allowed - if you are good at math, i say he's fine but if you struggle - pick someone else.
Love math classes where no one knows what's going on? Love math classes where everyone roasts the professor on a group message? Love being frustrated because algebra is starting to look like hieroglyphics? Then you will love Sean. I wish I was exaggerating. You have a better chance getting a scholarship to play golf with no arms than passing.
He truthfully is not a bad professor. He puts the information out to the students in a quick manner, however does not personally convey the information to the students. He is a nice guy who is very intellectual. If you struggle with math i would recommend going to his office hours, which is where he will be more direct with you.
Fairly simple class. Attendance is not mandatory, I only show up for exams and currently have an A in the class. Concepts are easy, but if you struggle with math, take thorough notes, attend class, and go to him for personal help (he's very open to helping students). Only complaint is lots of homework but Beatty's a good professor in my opinion.
Sean is one of my favorite professors. I took Cal 1 first with Cox and he sucks! I got a C in his class and retook with Sean and got an A. He is nice, always available, and gives reviews that are essentially the same as the test.
math is very hard for me but Beatty made it a little easier. He gives extra credit for the exams which helped tremendously. However, he gives a lot of homework it is worth it because it helps you practice. Also the final exam if you get a good grade on it he replaces your lowest exam grade with it. Attendance isn't required.
He's... odd. Halfway through he started giving study guides, but before he didn't. There are 5 exams and then a final exam. Homework is only 5% of your grade. Most of your grade is made up by exams. If you are good at math and good at multiple choice math tests, then you'll have no problem with this class. If not, find another math professor.
There is a lot of homework, but any late homework can be made up to a 70 at any point in the semester. Skip class won't pass, a lot of material is covered in class and won't be found anywhere else. Tests are a big portion of grading, all multiple choice and usually easier than homework. The final grade replaces your lowest test grade, great overall
Anyone who complains that there's a lot of homework is childish, this is a college math class, you need a lot of practice to learn math!! He is an amazing professor, he cares a lot and his expectations are very clear. He gives a review that is basically the exam and you can earn up to 10 extra credit points on each exam. TAKE HIM!
For the love of God, if math is not your strongest subject, do not take him. He is unhelpful and will make you look stupid when asking questions. He is also mean and makes you feel dumb. The examples he gives you in class are nothing like the ones on the test. The tests are stupidly hard and he always walks in with an attitude. Save yourself.
Prof. Beatty is very passionate in math and is very clear on what he wants. Bunch of homework but that's going to be everywhere you go for calculus. I love the way he explains things, they don't feel so cookie cutter, but more like a causal talk on how these concepts work. In fact, his style and the way he talk is so causal (which is great IMO).
i came to class 51% of the time, did 66% of the HW and somehow got a B:) Replaces your lowest exam w/ Final (Made w/ a bunch of Q's from previous examseasy ) and adds 10 extra pts to each test if you do the review. His hw and tests are pretty difficult, but grades tests out of fewer questions. So a 50 is like a 70. Ps the final review was 92 Q's.
Prof Beatty isn't super hard. He goes over the material in a really good way and he'll help out with the homework assigned by even doing the problems out. The test reviews are very helpful and the tests are exactly like the homework and are multiple-choice! This is a really good choice for a math credit for a non-math major.
Makes it very easy to pass this class. Do the exam reviews as the questions come from there and you can earn 10 bonus points. He's a generous grader and cares more how you do the work vs. the correct answer. Partial credit on everything. Offers 5 bonus points to your overall grade through attendance and surveys. Very helpful during office hours.
I have struggled with pre calc on the past and have had horrible instructors but Calculus has been made so simple for me with the help of Mr. Beatty, he relates calculus to real life and is always willing to help you outside of class if you are struggling. AMAZING LECTURES!!! he makes me actually enjoy calculus!
Great professor and actually teaches you. He not only breaks down what he's currently teaching but reviews anything that pertains to it. When it comes to grading, he cares more about your process than the actual answer. Partial credit on everything plus bonus points. If you have the chance, please take him as you'll actually learn calculus.
He gives you all the tools to do well, but you may have to let him know where you're struggling to do well on that. He's very helpful but there's a lot to cover so use his officer hours for in-depth help. He provides exam reviews which take longer than the real exam but they are immensely helpful. The book is OpenStax which is nice.
Great teacher on not so easy material. Lectures were easy to understand, but the material can be difficult. If you're having trouble, please go to his office hours. He's incredibly helpful and breaks everything down so you can understand it. Even if he has to review middle school material. Partial credit on everything and not a tough grader.
Great teacher, simple in the way he teachers. Homework and test are very similar, he even puts questions he has gone over in lecture on the test. Very reasonable class, structured. Prefect amount of work.
Professor Beatty is Genuinely one of those professors who cares about his students and wants them all to succeed. I had him online due to the pandemic and he really didn't push too much workload on students. He gave a good amount of time before each homework was due. 11/10 recommend and I plan to take him spring semester for Cal 2.
He cares about his student and is not too demanding (at least online). As long as you get homework done you already have a great grade + tests always have extra credit assignments for as much as 10 points. The class may be difficult just because it's calculus, but other than that its easy to understand. He is usually always available to help too.
Beatty's lectures were very informative, I felt like I actually knew what was going on in calculus, which is very rare for me. His exams are just like the homework, so if you do those you'll be fine. He also extends the due dates for some homework if you ask nicely, and gives extra credit for tests.
Very genuine professor who cares about the material and his student's success. My main quarrels were with the course structure which he had very little control over. It was also his first year teaching the course so it was very touch and go the entire semester. 2 assignments a week starts to get overwhelming. Overall, I had a good experience.
Good with accommodating to your situation and understanding.
Professor Beatty was truly incredible. His lectures were easy to understand even if the concepts were tough, and they usually felt more like a casual conversation about Mathematics. You could see the passion in his eyes as he taught and explained different concepts, and in general was just a good person and instructor.
Beatty is an amazing professor. His lectures are informative and helpful, he'll show how to do the homework problems, and he'll help explain concepts to students in office hours. The material is difficult but you can tell he genuinely wants to help you understand it. He'll extend deadlines on assignments and is very understanding.
The professor is nice and explains material well. There is quite a bit a lot of homework and the homework has between 12- 18 questions but it's not too bad.
Can't go wrong with him, he is a great lecturer that will make sure you learn! He is accessible outside class. He is extremely understanding, even though it might not seem like that at first!
Amazing linear algebra teacher. He ensures good understanding of topics covered in linear algebra, and for someone like me, it was a steep curve and he really helped me out. He's very accessible and is clear about lots of things. Gives extra credit on exams if HW is completed. Ask questions, do the HW, and just participate and you'll do well.
Great professor who explains concepts clearly. Lots of homework, but manageable with the right study tools like unstuck study. Attend class and you'll do well - no need for the textbook.
Lectures were centered around working through examples, getting help on homework and textbook material. The homework included problems that challenged you, and his teaching style helped convey the important ideas and ensured students understood the fundamental principles before moving on to more advanced topics after calc 1.
This is a very good professor. I took him for Calculus 1 and he did a great job. He's very accessible outside of class, he gives you plenty of time to do homework, and he's a really nice guy. He likes to talk about theory of mathematics a lot but don't let that scare you, he still explains stuff well and does examples.
Great professor, explains topics well, theres 3 in person paper exams + the final. Gives 10pts extra credit on exams if you complete practice questions.
He's a very understading and approachable guy. This class was IBL based so you will be working in groups and feel lost often, but so is everyone else. Extra credit on HW if you use LaTeX but he accepts handwritten too. The class was light at first but it got very challenging towards the end. However, he's a nice grader.
