A must have professor! I took his summer class for 6 weeks, 4 days a week, 2 hours a day, and he was AWESOME! Great guy, always willing to help, and exempts u from the final if u get above a 90 average. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR if ur taking the clas on campus!

hes so nice & extremely helpful.A majority of the tests r open book, no hmwk. If you have trouble during class he'll spend one on one time helping you & doesnt get annoyed. Hes great!

Mr. Kerwin was very helpful in the fresh start financial accounting class. The professor I had before would not even allow you to ask questions. Mr. Kerwin was very helpful in my passing the class.

easy class

I had him for Business C&A my first semester, and even though I'm a History major, I took him again this year for Financial Accounting. I am not a math person, but I ace all the exams. Not because I study so hard (I don't), but because he's such a great teacher that you get it almost immediately. He never gets frustrated. He's funny. Highly recommended!

Great Professor!! Must have for accounting. I had Mr. Kerwin for financial last semester and got and A. I had him this semester for managerial. He offers lots of extra credit for tests. There were two take home tests that I got an A on each. Easy A!

I've heard ACTG110 is a hard class on campus, but I did very well in it online.

He has his favorite students, oh well. I just recommend you read the book, because there is a lot of material. I went to his office hours a few times and he always seemed to busy to help me and there were other things on his mind. He is a nice guy tho, just makes his class somewhat difficult.

Actg-111-Managerial Acct (online): You must stay on top of the assigned chapters, be prepared to take a quiz every week, test every other. But overall, with a little hard work, easy "B", little work "c", if you push yourself to really learn and understand material easy "A". Worth taking!!! Not a bad teacher.

He is the best Teacher at HVCC!!! I have had him for 4 different accounting classes. Financial, Managerial, Intermediate and Quickbooks and if you go to class and do the homework he gives you then you will get an easy B or an A if you do the work. Take him!

I took the summer online accounting class. Work is easy, work is independent and he doesn't collect the assignments. If you need help you have to email him or meet him on campus, which I did once. On campus meeting cleared up chapter 4 (hardest chapter I think) in 30 minutes. Take Mr. Kerwins class

I found this class really simple to follow online. As long as you read the chapter and do the assignments (that are not collected) you should be able to get a B. Put in a little more time and effort you will surely get an A. He is a little hard to get a hold of but once you do he is very helpful.

Intermediate Accounting at night. I took it at my four year college and had to drop it. Mr. Kerwin is helpful, at least he covers the chapter exercises which helped me greatly. He is willing to work with you + he understands the challenges of having a full time job and going to school full time.

Mr. Kerwin is a very excellent teacher. I had him for Managerial Accounting and he made the material very easy to understand. He is always cracking jokes and going over and over the material until everyone understands it.

Online course. Very understanding and quick to answer if you have a problem. Use the tools he gives you. Got an A and taking managerial acct with him too

He makes the class hilarious and fun. If you have questions he answers them with a lot of detail. He gives homework but it isn't usually mandatory. I took him for Financial and Managerial Accounting and he was the best! I would recommend him to anyone who needs to take Accounting.

I am taking this teacher for managerial next semester also. The directions are clear and well put. quiz every week and test every 3 weeks. They take a while, but if you take your time you have the potential to do great. I highly suggest him.

Sean was by far my favorite professor while at HVCC. He gave ample time to complete assignments & was very helpful when need be. I hope to find more professors like him during my upcoming education.

Overall Easy Class if you read your chapters and take some notes. Teacher suggests printing out your quizzes/test to study from. This does help a lot if you have a hard time. Responsive to questions. Had a short quiz each week. A test every couple weeks and then a final exam. Will take again I have him for Managerial Accounting in the spring.

Took accounting with Kerwin and as long as you do your part and participate he is really willing to help. Would take a class with him again.

If you're looking for an easy introductory class in accounting at HV, I would recommend taking the course with Kerwin. His grading policy is clear, he tells you exactly what will on the tests, and he offers opportunities to gain back points lost on the tests. Accounting is difficult, but he tries his best to make it simple to understand.

Had Kerwin for Managerial and Financial and enjoyed it a lot! I found accounting to be difficult and if I had another professor I know I would not have done as well. Very understanding and will always help if you need it. Most importantly... Coffee, Cream and Sugar.

Had Prof. Kerwin for Managerial Accounting, and he's a good professor, knows what he's teaching. Although a the beginning I was having trouble following his lecture because he's more "Practical" than "Theoretical" but in any means if these is your learning style you'll do good, he gives plenty of chances to earn lost points on test back.

Easy class to pass. If you are doing online, be prepared to teach yourself with the textbook. No homework is given in this class except to read the textbook and do the tests. Weekly quizzes are given with multiple chances to take them to get a 100 and there is a test every other week where you can only take it once. Would take his class again.

Professor SJK is the MOST FUN guy at HVCC! The grade is based on the tests, but he consistently reviews and lets you do corrections early in semester. He also let us use a HeinekinIndex card on test #3, although we could not put the multi-step income statement on it(fair enough) Also he uses life examples about hotwings and his (much needed) coffee

This professor is very straight forward. He is very clear on his course outline and syllabus. As long as you do the reading and do the practice questions you should have no issue with getting a good grade.

He is probably the best professor I have had. Syllabus is very clear and he makes class fun. I went into this class not knowing anything about Accounting and he teaches so everyone can understand from beginner to advanced. He does not set up students to fail and gives every opportunity to do better in class. I would recommend him to anyone!

Professor K. was my online prof. for Financial and I was failing. I met him for x-tra help, and he was fair and firm with me. I started sitting in on a class, and got a B by the end. I took him again for Managerial. I'm an older student who came back to school, he's by far the best educator I've ever had. He's driven to help students succeed.

Dr. Kerwin was an amazing teacher. I learned a lot in his class, and if you pay attention, you should do well too. Try to do the practice problems he assigns; they will help you understand the lectures. No phones in class. He gives extra credit if you don't use your cell phone during class.

Awesome professor! His lectures are clear & often funny. Communication is quick through email. Expect quizzes for every chapter (unlimited-untimed) & tests for every 1-2 chapters (timed). He encourages you to print the quizzes/tests to help you prep for finals! If you do the work and watch the videos you'll pass no problem. He wants you to succeed!

Really cool, he actually has a great personality and he really knows his stuff, would highly recommend! He is always there to help and assist you on the way.

Super easy online class. He adds plenty of videos as well as his own recorded lectures to help with each assignment. Follow the textbook and watch his videos and you'll pass EASY. This class is a bit of work but it isn't hard work.

Good enough of a professor but he does sort of wing it when it comes to teaching. If you can deal with that then he's more than fine enough. I was able to ace the class without ever reading the textbook.

Anyone who has the chance of taking Kerwin should always pick him. One of the best professors out there, he truly cares for his students and makes it an overall better environment for everyone. Even if you are confused about the content, he has no problem helping and is a very easy and fun guy to talk to.

Kerwin is for sure one of the HVCC greats. He always made class so fun and engaging. I liked him and his class so much I even made some baked goods and gave him some at the end of the semester. However I wasn't able to get into his managerial class and he told me I was out of the will :(. In all seriousness he really is so awesome. Love you Kerwin.

Dr. Kerwin was my favorite HVCC Professor of all time. He makes class incredibly engaging and very personable, and connects with students on an individual level. I wish I had taken him for Financial Accounting, but having him for Managerial Accounting made my Spring Semester 10x better. Also, don't worry about the textbook, I never needed it.

This was my second course with this professor. He offered many weekly videos, mostly from YouTube, but I wish he included more of his own lectures, as they are more entertaining and easier to understand. There are weekly quizzes (unlimited attempts) and tests every 1 to 4 chapters. Overall, I highly recommend Professor Kerwin's course.

Took an OL class, didn't need the professor for anything but I've heard he's very personable. Class was straight forward, do the work and you'll be fine. Not too much work, I'd say its about average. Taking another class with him next semester.
